As Princess Luna's Beautiful moon shines across Ponyville, Lightning is in his home being helped with his tuxedo by Fluttershy. He hated wearing the tuxedo, but he kept reminding himself he was doing this for Smolder. Fluttershy finished tying the tie around his neck and stepped back to take a better look at her son as she smiled at hm.
"Oh Lightning, you really do look handsome," Fluttershy said gently as Lightning softly smiled and blushed in response.
"Thanks, Momma. I think I'm ready to go," He said softly.
Fluttershy nodded her head.
"I hope you have a good time tonight," Fluttershy said as she softly smiled. She couldn't help but be proud of her son, he was growing up fast.
"Thank You, Momma,” Lightning said, “I'll be home later tonight." He then hugged his mother while nuzzling her cheek.
Fluttershy gently kissed Lightning on the forehead and he walked out the door while shouting goodbye to her and made his way to the School of Friendship.
At the School of Friendship, every student was entering the building with their dates. Smolder was outside by the school doors waiting for Lightning to arrive.
She was wearing the same dress she wore at the Gala, but she added little blue butterflies and orange gems on her dress.
Just then, the orange dragon saw her boyfriend walking towards her and the school as she smiled happily before flying up towards him.
Lightning stopped and smiled at Smolder as she stopped and carefully landed to where she was standing in front of him.
“Hi Smolder,” greeted Lightning softly, “You look beautiful.”
Smolder blushed before saying, “Thanks, Braveheart. You look handsome.” Lightning blushed before receiving a kiss from his girlfriend.
Before they could say anything else, they saw Gallus and Silverstream walking towards the school doors wearing as Gallus was wearing tuxedo and Silverstream was wearing her dress that they wore at the Gala.
“Gallus? You got a date with Silverstream?” Smolder asked kindly but with confuse and shock together.
“What can I say? She wanted date out, and I said yes,” replied Gallus as the two continued their way to the school.
“Are those two in love too like Sandbar and Yona are?” Asked Lightning confusedly.
“Let’s just say it’s canon to us,” whispered Smolder to Lightning.
“Oh. Alright then.”
“So shall we head on inside and get our first date started?” Smolder asked softly.
“Yeah, let’s,” answered Lightning softly and politely as the two flew their way into the school and the room where the dates will being held.
Inside the hall room, it was filled with white tables with purple table blankets on them and white chairs with some of the students sitting on as they chatted amongst themselves with Octavia and her team playing beautiful music and Ocellus playing a violin with them.
Lightning and Smolder entered the hall and saw Ocellus playing the violin with Octavia and the rest of the band crew as they smiled at her.
“I’m glad Ocellus gets to be involved with tonight’s event,” said Lightning happily.
“Me too,” replied Smolder softly, “And she’s great at playing the violin.”
Ocellus heard what Smolder just said and blushed while smiling as she continued to play with Octavia and the others.
Smolder and Lightning found themselves a table to sit at as Lightning pulled a chair out for Smolder and she sat down on the chair before Lightning went to the other chair and sat on it. As they sat at the table, the two lovebirds smiled at each other lovingly before they started talking.
“So, anything happened at the Dragon Lands lately?” Lightning asked politely.
“Not too much,” replied Smolder softly, “Just the usual. Lava surfing, poetry with my brother, and thinking about you every single night.” Lightning blushed at that, but in a good way.
“What about you? Anything exciting happened at home?”
“Not really,” Lightning answered, “But we did manage to fix a fox’s broken leg yesterday afternoon, so that counts as something exciting.”
“It sure does,” said Smolder, “Is the fox doing okay now?”
“Yep, he’s running as normal again and he is as happy like I was when I had a new family and when you became my special somedragon.”
“Awww, you!” Smolder leaned forward and gave Lightning a great big kiss on the cheek which made Lightning blush in bright red.
After a few minutes later, everyone’s dinners have arrived as Applejack and Pinkie Pie worked together to place the plates of food on the right table. Most of them were just pizza or bowls of soup, but for Lightning and Smolder, they ordered spaghetti with gems on top for Smolder to eat off.
Smolder picked the gems off the spaghetti and ate them while Lightning used his knife and fork to eat some of the spaghetti before he and Smolder start eating it up together.
Once all the gems have been eaten, Lightning and Smolder used their forks to pick up one end bit of the spaghetti and placed the end bit in their mouths before slurping up the spaghetti but in a nice and polite way.
None of them even notice that they reaching close to each other while slurping up the spaghetti as they now near to each other and were lip to lip with each other with the spaghetti all gone now. The two moved back to their sits while blushing and giggling a bit, even though they didn’t want to break the lip to lip after doing that.
Applejack collected all of the empty plates as Pinkie Pie placed plates of a slice of chocolate cake on the tables for dessert.
Everyone ate their slice of cake nicely before they all lay on the chair and rubbed their bellies as they enjoyed their meals and dessert. Lightning was now laying on Smolder as she was laying on her chair while gently rubbing Lightning’s back slowly as they also enjoyed their meal and dessert.
It was now midnight by the time it was time for everyone to return home after their dates. Lightning was already asleep when home time came so Smolder carefully carried him home while flying towards Fluttershy’s cottage.
Smolder reached the cottage and knocked on the door which it was answered by Fluttershy.
“Hello Smolder,” said Fluttershy softly before seeing her son sleeping in Smolder’s arms and resting his head on her chest. “Awww, my baby boy’s fallen himself to sleep. Did you both have a great night together?”
“Yes we did,” answered Smolder politely, “We had the best date night ever.” She looked at her sleeping boyfriend before asking, “You don’t mind if I sleep with Lightning for tonight?”
“Of course you can,” replied Fluttershy, “I’m sure he would like to have a cuddle with you to finish off your date.” She let out a giggle.
Smolder thanked Fluttershy before she let the dragon come in as she flew inside and upstairs to Lightning’s bedroom. Smolder lit the candle on the bedside with her own fire carefully before removing the covers and placed the colt in the bed as she climbed into bed herself and placed the covers over them before gently wrapping her arms around him.
The orange dragon gently kissed the colt on the forehead before whispering, “Goodnight, Braveheart. Thank you for tonight.”
Smolder fell asleep with Lightning in her arms as Princess Luna’s moon shone upon them making the rest of their date night a good one. This was a the perfect date night for Smolder and Lightning Twister.
