//------------------------------// // Chapter 15 // Story: Velvet's Time at Disneigh // by Creativa-Artly01 //------------------------------// Sooner than expected, May of the next year rolls around and with it, so too does Velvet and Nightlight’s wedding and needless to say for the wedding party alone it’s a crowd as it’s park off hours so her fellow princesses can actually participate as her bridesmares and mares of honor. Her little sister is her flower filly too for the wedding. As the music begins to play, Nightlight stands proud at the alter as the procession makes its way down the aisle-Velvet’s sister, the bridesmares and mares of honor, then finally the bride herself decked out in a light violet colored wedding gown with matching ribbons decking her mane. It’s a princess style dress, puffed sleeves, pearls sewn into the fabric, perfect for their fairytale wedding. As he sees her come towards him, Nightlight’s jaw drops. “She’s gorgeous in that dress, dang, like an Angel,” he whispers to one of his groomscolts. Soon, she’s in front of him. “You look stunning, my love,” he says to her, “like the princess you are and the princess you always have been.” “Okay, save it for the vows,” the priest speaks up. He then begins his speech. “We are gathered here today to unite these two ponies in holy maretrimony, Twilight Velvet, everypony’s favorite princess and Nightlight, the humble ticket pony. It’s a tale as old as time, a poem as dear as a sonnet. We are blessed to be doing this right where it all began: the magical world of the Disneigh Parks, the lights of the rides as the ambiance. Love is a true gift, powerful and strong in its own right. Love can destroy anything evil that it dares to touch and can make it good. You can now state your vows.” The pair nods and Nightlight says his first. “Velvet, from the day we first met, I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. I remember the first time I saw you in the princess hall, on the parade floats, the first time you visited me at my station at the ticket booth. I remember when I first asked you out, hardly believing it when you told me yes, but look at where we are now. You make my life complete and make me more happy than I’ve ever been in my life.” Velvet then begins her vows. “Nightlight, you have been a blessing in my life ever since you first came into it. I had a crush on you ever since you first started working in the part, and the girls saw it as glaringly obvious. Then we started dating and I knew then that you completed me, it was also a nice bonus that you quickly became a favorite with my little sister as well. You complete me and I’m happier, more me when I’m with you.” “Okay, now that the vows are said,” says the priest. “Nightlight, have the ring ready and repeat after me: Twilight Velvet.” “Twilight Velvet,” says Nightlight. “I promise to take you as my bride.” “I promise to take you as my bride.” “In sickness and in health.” “In sickness and in health.” “To protect and care for.” “To protect and care for.” “As long as we both shall live.” “As long as we both shall live.” He then slips the ring on her horn with his magic. “Okay, Velvet,” your turn says the priest to Velvet. “Have the ring ready.” He then does them once again with her and sure enough soon she slips the ring over his horn with her magic. Not long after, the priest says the final words: “you may kiss your bride.” With that, Nightlight takes Velvet in his arms and kisses her. With that, they run off and hop on the Ferris wheel and ride to the top where they share another kiss under the fireworks. A Pegasus cameraman takes pictures of them from his spot in the sky. Once down from the Ferris wheel, the two head to the ballroom where they cut their cake and shove it in each other’s faces with their hooves. Cameraponies on both sides catch pictures from all angles. They then clean up and do their dance. Nightlight even shares a dance with her little sister as well as one with both her and her sister. Pictures are taken of all of it. Later that night, they head out on their honeymoon after Velvet tells her stand-in how to pull off a perfect Snow Veil. The pair then head out in a carriage with a just married sign hanging on the bottom of its backside. They’ve had their fairytale wedding and they can’t wait for what’s next to come!”
