My Little Pokémon

Dragons Peak

Unova. Dragons Peak. Afternoon.

Spike's dragon quest continues as the road to Kyurem was ongoing. Right now, he had arrived in a place known as Dragons Peak. Sloped mountain peaks as far as the eye can see as many Dragon-Type Pokemon could most definitely be seen and found here. It's in the name and everything.

Right now, Spike, Axew and their newest teammate Deino were walking up large steep parts of the mountain peaks, breathing heavily. They aren't used to climbing something this steep at all.

"Should've taken the other route..." Spike panted.

"Axew..."

"Deino." But Deino didn't seem too bothered.

"Gotta get moving if we're gonna find Kyurem...He's got a giant ice castle doesn't he?" Spike wiped the sweat off his head as he and his Pokemon ended up reaching a high point of the steep hills they walked on.

Once they reached that high point, the three dragons ended up getting a nice view of what lies up ahead through the rest of Dragons Peak.

There, they were greeted by the sight of hundreds of Dragon-Type Pokemon roaming about, living their lives in this lush green yet rocky landscape. Whether it was them feeding their families or competing with each other, Dragon-Type Pokemon could be seen doing what they do best.

However, not all of them were Dragon-Type Pokemon. There were some exceptions here and there. But, some of these exceptions were a part of the Dragon Egg group despite not being Dragon-Types, so in a sense, they were still Dragons in an oddly specific way.

Not only that, but buildings seemed to reside here in the peaks. Buildings that had ancient-like appearances. As if they were from the past. Spike believed there could be some people living there or perhaps the Dragon Pokemon inhabit those buildings.

Possibly, these buildings might've existed during the old days of Unova. Whether it was when the Two Hero Princes existed or even further back. It wasn't just the buildings. Aside from the green yet rocky ground, there seemed to be cobblestone with moss around it, indicating that people did build a civilization here.

There were also large bits of building blocks. They seemed to be incomplete. As if someone was working on these buildings but gave up halfway. Or time just got to the blocks as well.

"Ohoho...Check that out!" Spike gawked at the sight of this area.

"Axew!"

"Dei?"

"Could be one step closer to Kyurem. Let's see if someone here in those buildings knows where his Frost Castle is!" Feeling full of energy Spike decided to slide down on the long slope along with Axew and Deino.

Although, Deino rolled instead of just sliding. The three of them felt the rush of moving at a fast pace from a high height as Spike and Axew raised their arms, cheering in excitement.

"Woohoo!" Spike yelled as it felt like he was on a kiddie slide. Right next to the slope was a large body of water. An entire river for some Dragon-Type Pokemon to rest in.

But, some of the Pokemon in there weren't Dragon-Types as one of them had spotted Spike and his Pokemon, locking its eyes onto its new prey. That Pokemon was a Tentacruel.

A very big Tentacruel.

"Tenta!"

"Oh!" Spike gasped, noticing the giant Tentacruel. "Look at the size of that Tentacruel!"

"Axew?!"

"Deino?"

"Cruel!" Tentacruel was hungry for some snacks. And Spike and his Pokemon looked like they could certainly fill that bill as it was swimming fast enough to keep up with the three of them. It raised its tentacles, ready to grab and gnaw on the dragons. "Tena!"

"Uh oh!" Spike quickly realized what was about to happen to him and his Pokemon. It wasn't just Tentacruel. Up ahead, a Flygon was minding its own business, eating its food and currently unaware of the mess coming towards it.

"Flygon..."

"Slow down! Slow down! Slow down!" Spike was telling his feet to stop sliding and to slow down. But it was too late. He had already gained enough speed and there was no stopping now.

"Gon?" The Ground-Dragon-Type eventually noticed the three dragons and Tentacruel heading here by just simply looking to the other side. "Fly?!"

"Tentacruel!" The Jellyfish Pokemon started smashing its tentacles onto the sloped hill, causing Spike and his Pokemon to almost lose their balance while sliding and rolling. Especially Deino, who bounced after Tentacruel hit the ground. And she kept bouncing each time.

"Flygon!" In response to what it deemed as hostility, Flygon used Earthquake by slamming its tail onto the ground, setting off a powerful tremor with white shockwaves that raced towards the three dragons.

"No-no-no-no-no!" Spike put his hands out, not wanting to be caught in those shockwaves. Seeing that his trainer was about to be hit, Axew quickly transformed into Haxorus to do something about this.

"Ax...Axorus! Haxorus!" Haxorus had emerged, grabbing both Spike and Deino into his hands. "Haxo!" Then, with his immense strength, he used Iron Tail to hit the ground, causing him to fly into the air because of the force emitted.

With him being airborne and holding Spike and Deino, they had successfully avoided Flygon's Earthquake. The same could not be said for Tentacrule whose tentacles were in the way.

The white shockwaves of the Earthquake connected with three of its tentacles, dealing super-effective damage and even knocking Tentacruel back.

"Cruel!"

"Phew..." Spike sighed as Haxorus landed down safely, placing his friends down. But even though they successfully escaped that mess, it ended up transitioning between Flygon and Tentacruel as the two of them were now at odds with each other.

"Tent! Tentacruel!" Unhappy with being hit by Earthquake and losing its prey, the Water-Poison-Type lashed out at Flygon, swinging its tentacles at it with Knock Off.

"Gon!" Flygon flapped its wings, ascending into the air before avoiding the first swings of Tentacruel's knock off. "Flygon!" The Mystic Pokemon then used Dragon Claw, flying towards the Jelly Fish Pokemon and swiping it in the face with green draconic claws.

"T-Tenta!" Tentacruel jerked back from that as Flygon kept swiping its face repeatedly with no rest. The Mystic Pokemon unloaded on Tentacruel with these repeated Dragon Claws before the final swipe ended up knocking the giant Tentacruel on its back, forcing it to fall back into the river.

"Flygon." Flygon was the victor of this battle. Unfortunately, it wasn't over yet. While it defeated Tentacruel, there was another Pokemon to deal with.

"Sevi!" Right from behind, a giant Seviper appeared, wrapping its tail around the Mystic Pokemon by surprise. This was the second giant Pokemon that wasn't a Dragon-Type. Although, Seviper is in the Dragon egg group.

"Gon?!"

"Seviper!" The Fang Snake Pokemon then tossed Flygon to the side, initiating yet another battle. As Flygon tumbled on the ground, Seviper slithered towards its prey, ready to strike once more. "Viper!"

"Fly?!"

"Seviper! The Fang Snake Pokemon then used Dragon Tail, turning around before slamming its draconic-clad tail onto the stomach of the Mystic Pokemon.

"F-Flygon!"

"Uh...There sure are a bunch of giant Pokemon aren't there? They don't look like Dynamaxed Pokemon though..." Spike and his Pokemon were just spectating.

"Sevi..." Seviper stood before the defeated Flygon after using Dragon Tail. Its attention then turned to Spike, Haxorus and Deino, aiming to attack them next as it slithered. "Seviper!"

"Oh!" Spike gasped, noticing that he and his friends were next in line for this Pokemon brawl.

"Xorus!" Haxorus stood before his friends, ready to block and attack Seviper the moment it got close.

"Deino!" But instead, Deino stepped up, choosing to go up against Seviper while still having that simple smile on her face. She didn't seem bothered by the giant snake heading her way with a potential Dragon Tail to boot.

"Huh? Deino?" Spike noticed this, curious as to what Deino was planning.

"Haxo?"

"Deino...!" The Irate Pokemon suddenly released a blue, dragon-shaped energy that covered her body. This was the move, Dragon Rush. Something that Spike and Haxorus weren't expecting Deino to have.

"Sevi!" Seviper was closing in with a Poison Fang instead of Dragon Tail.

"Dei!" And then, Deino took off from the ground like a rocket, leaving behind a dragon-shaped trail from her emitting energy. Moving faster than even Seviper, the Irate Pokemon slammed into Seviper before Poison Fang could even land.

"V-Vi!" The Fang Snake Pokemon gagged with the poison energy disappearing from its fangs. Afterwards, it had been launched a far distance after Dragon Rush had properly landed due to a head-first attack from Deino. The Fang Snake Pokemon could be seen flying in the distance, fainted as Deino fell on her stomach.

"Deino."

"Woah..." Spike and Haxorus were taken aback by how effective and powerful Deino was. She had just joined the team and already she showed great promise. Perhaps a bit too much promise.

"Haxo..." Haxorus was so stunned that he reverted into a Unovan Axew. "Axew..."

"Dei-Deino." The Irate Pokemon laid on her stomach, falling asleep and dozing off as Axew went over to pick her up. They had a very powerful ally on their side from what they had seen.

"Okay, uh...let's get moving then. If I remember from Ash's story, there was a train and city that was close to where Kyurem is, right?" Spike said as the group got a move on.

But first, a quick lunch break before they really got on their way. And stopping by these ancient buildings seemed like a perfect place to do so. Spike plopped his bag down while Axew sat down, still holding Deino. But Deino hopped off anyway after waking up faster than expected.

"Ah...A good place to pause for a bit." Spike sighed while getting some food out. AKA gemstones from Rarity. But there was some natural food for the Pokemon as well.

Spike sent out all of his Pokemon to enjoy something to eat. No one was going to be left behind. He gave his Pokemon the right amount of food to eat. Small Pokemon like Axew and Deino and large Pokemon Salamence and Druddigon have their own select piles of food for them to consume.

Although in the case of Axew who can transform into Haxorus, it's either-or.

The five dragons began chowing down on their lunch. They all certainly eat like dragons since they didn't show their food any mercy. As they eat, Spike gawked at the scenery,

It truly was bizarre that some Pokemon here were their natural sizes while others were bigger than normal, even going as far to reach the level of giants. It would be reasonable to mistake them for Dynamaxed Pokemon.

"Mmm." Spike chewed on the gemstones. "Wonder if these giant Pokemon have always been here. And did the people who used to live here know about it?"

"Axew-xew."

"Deino..." Deino had already finished her food. She was a bit of a quick eater as she laid on her back. "No."

"There should be a city nearby. The train there might take us to Kyurem's Ice Castle easier. I mean, it's a giant castle with ice. How hard is it to miss it?"

Just as Spike spoke and continued to eat his food, his Xtransceiver started ringing. Gulping down his gems, the baby dragon went over to his back, taking the Xtransceiver out.

He saw the Trainer ID that belonged to Twilight. The one calling. Quickly, he responded by picking up Twilight's call as the young alicorn's face appeared on the screen.

"Hey, Twilight."

"Spike! How are things out there?" Twilight asked.

"Did you see any new Pokemon?!" Fluttershy's face appeared on the screen with a wide grin.

"You're not hurt are you?!" Rarity also showed up.

"Fine. Fine. I'm just on my way to battle Kyurem."

"Kyurem?!" They each gasped.

"Did you say Kyurem?!" Rainbow Dash barged in with Applejack and Pinkie Pie. "Isn't that the Pokemon Ash told us in his stories?!"

"Sure is. Known as the World's Strongest Dragon."

"World's Strongest Dragon for a reason!" Starlight showed up. "There's no way you're beating that, Spike!"

"I'm not planning on winning. Just gonna challenge him and do my best. I'm gonna see how good of a Dragon Trainer I've become and I might even learn a few things from it. I mean, Keldeo sounded like he learned a lot from Kyurem, ya know."

"Well...that sounds less dangerous." Twilight sighed. "And if you have the chance, can you tell me all about Kyurem and more? I'm a bit curious about the Legendary Dragons, most of them anyway."

"Sure will. He sounds like a pretty good talker anyway."

"But, Spike. I called for you another reason. It's the invasion. It's been delayed and pushed far back."

"OH! Really?!" Spike exclaimed.

"Queen Pyrestar went over to the Empress' world and sabotaged practically everything. But she ended up getting captured afterwards. Now, there's even more time to plan. Probably a whole month or more." Twilight explained.

"Well, guess that means I won't have to rush my quest, right?"

"Guess so." Twilight nodded. "Where are you now?"

"Someplace called Dragons Peak. It should be near the next city. Then after that, I'll catch a train at Windy Station to Roshan City and then Kyurem's Ice Castle and battle him for sure! Right guys?"

"Axew!"

"Sala!"

"Druddi!"

"Deino?"

"Hm? Those sound new. Did you catch new Pokemon?" Pinkie asked.#

"Mhm. Just yesterday I caught a Druddigon."

"Drudd." The Cave Pokemon showed himself on the screen.

"And just today, I got a Deino from the Village of Dragons."

"Dei!" The Irate POkemon followed up by also showing herself to everypony.

"Aaah!" Twilight and the others screamed as they fell back from the sight of Deino. She immediately reminded them of Hydreigon. One of the most feared Pokemon in Equestria.

"Scared? I got pretty spooked as well the first time." Spike laughed. "Don't worry. I'm gonna raise her right and well. I'll have the best Hydreigon the world's ever seen! Right, Deino?"

"Dei..." Deino opened her mouth wide as she wanted to bite onto Spike's Xtransceiver, but Spike quickly pulled it away. So instead, Deino bit Spike's leg. "No!"

"Ough!" Spike winced after having his leg being bitten and gnawed on. "As soon as we solve this whole biting problem..."

"Well, you sound like you've got things covered. When are you gonna return?" Twilight asked, feeling a bit strange without Spike here with her.

"Uh...Once I beat Kyurem maybe. I don't know. But I won't be too long." Spike gave a thumbs up."

"Okay. Good luck out there." Twilight nodded in understanding as she hung up the call. Spike could now continue his lunch before heading out to the nearest city at Windy Station.

With news of the invasion being postponed, Spike could take it easy now. He was already taking it a bit easy but this made things simpler and less rushed in all honesty.

But while he and his Pokemon continued to eat, something else was happening among the Pokemon living here at the Dragon Peaks. All of the Pokemon here gathered up as a large group, even the ones that were battling against each other earlier. It was some sort of group meeting.

In fact, before they gathered up, each Pokemon went into the ancient old buildings residing here, grabbing various items from inside. Actual objects were remaining in these buildings but they were ancient like the buildings themselves.

Once they gathered these items, they all came together as a group, placing these items onto the ground and staying silent. This greatly intrigued Spike as he walked over to the scene while still eating some of his crystals.

"What's going on?" He wondered. The Dragons and other Pokemon closed their eyes, fitting the absolute silence. It looked like they were focusing everything onto the items while the air stood still.

Unsure of what was going on, Spike decided to try and speak to the Pokemon. And the one way he would do so was by using the Dragon communication technique he learned at the Village of Dragons. This would allow him to know what the Pokemon were feeling and such. More specifically, the Dragon Pokemon.

This time, he wanted to communicate with all of them other than just his Pokemon. Spike put his arms out as the golden flame-like light emerged once more. As expected, it immediately covered his Pokemon, outlining them in the light. But he wanted to reach everyone else.

He could feel what his Pokemon were feeling and they were in the same boat. Salamence and the others wondered why all these Pokemon stopped what they were doing for some random items.

But Deino was just hungry. That's what Spike picked up when reaching the Irate Pokemon. However, aside from that, Spike kept trying to reach the rest.

He kept his eyes closed while letting the light flow on. He remembered the brief teachings of the Village Elder, allowing the words to reach his mind. He didn't push himself to try and make the light larger or longer so that it grabs everyone here like a black hole. Instead, he stayed calm and nothing more.

Soon, it proved to be effective. The light was now reaching the nearby Pokemon in front of him as he was finally doing it. He was finally reaching other Pokemon rather than his own. Unfortunately, there was still a limit to how far he could go. So his light only reached three Pokemon at best.

But that was enough to know what was going on.

Once he reached them, Spike could feel what the Pokemon were feeling as well and why they were standing around these old items. From how slow their hearts were and how they were standing, Spike could tell that the Pokemon were honouring something.

Or rather someone. Or for an even better term, some people.

It was quickly revealed that this was a gathering to honour the people who used to live in this location, explaining the items and building. Spike could also faintly tell that it was for people in the far past. Just around ancient times. They most likely weren't owners of these Pokemon. And if they were, that would possibly mean that these Pokemon are older than they seem.

The Pokemon were paying respects to those that built these buildings as they swore to rebuild what was lost. Spike truly figured out that the main goals of the Pokemon here aside from eating, sleeping and duking it out for fun was to make a new civilization. One where people can come and settle.

That further explained why there were bits of building blocks everywhere. The Pokemon were previously working on rebuilding it and they seem to take breaks here and there.

Although the Pokemon won't be using those buildings. Most are a bit too big for them.

After all was said and done, the Pokemon got to work. They split up, returning the items to their original locations before continuing their work on the buildings.

"So that's why..." Spike said silently. He watched as the Pokemon who had their differences worked alongside each other, grabbing the necessary building blocks. Even the Seviper and Flygon could bury the hatchet.

Especially the giant Tentacruel. Although, arguably, the giant Tentacruel was the best choice for this job due to its unusual size and many tentacles. In fact, the Pokemon that were giant could be considered the best options.

One teeny-tiny problem.

None of these Pokemon really know how to build. At all. They have the passion and determination and considering their capabilities, it would look like they could pull this off effortlessly.

But, passion and determination do not equal skill and knowledge of actually knowing how to build a building. These Pokemon have been living in an area where the people who used to live here are long gone. No other human was there to teach them how to build, unfortunately.

Their actions were sloppy. When trying to pace the blocks in the right place, it just ended in failure. Some didn't even know which block went where while others were just lost.

Thus, further explaining the incomplete blocks. Realistically speaking, if these Pokemon did have the skills, these buildings would've been done long ago. After all, it only took a few months for BigTime Ben's Pokemon to make such behemoths of buildings in Equestria, such as the contest halls, Gyms, the Canterlot Tournament stadium, etc much more. All because they had the guidance and teachings of people who could build.

And a Conkeldurr.

Which instantly sparked an idea in Spike's head.

"Aha!" Spike clapped his hands together. "We're in the Unova Region...So the one Pokemon that's an expert a building, Conkeldurr should be here!"

"Axew?"

"What do you guys say? Think we should help these guys out?" Spike pointed at the Pokemon. "They're really determined to rebuild and honour this place. But they can't do it without any major guidance. I mean...I don't know anything about building."

"Sala?"

"That's why we'll find ourselves a Conkeldurr or maybe a Gurdurr and ask them to help if they can." Spike declared as his Pokemon agreed. But Deino was just hungry as she had eaten everyone's food while they weren't looking. And in such little time too.

"Deino!"

"Ah! Our food!" Spike and his Pokemon gasped. Deino had even eaten the gems and crystals as well, sparing nothing.

"Dei." The Irate Pokemon burped.

"Whatever..." Spike sighed. "Let's just search for a Conkeldurr."

And so it was. To the rest of the wilds for a Conkeldurr. Anywhere else would do really. They just had to find one.

Windy Riverbank. Afternoon.

Spike and his Pokemon had arrived at a place with wide-open plains with few trees, many Grass, Flying and Normal Pokemon, hay bales, water troughs, windmills and very comfortable looking stacks of leaves that no one would want to clear out. There were also barns and farmhouses, indicating that a farming family lived here.

This area was near Windy Station which connected to the nearby city. Even the train tracks could be spotted here, leading to the station and city. This made things easier for Spike to follow a perfect trail.

But that wasn't important right now. What was important was finding a Conkeldurr to help the Pokemon at Dragon Peaks as Spike, Axew and Deino got off Salamence.

"Hm? What's this now?" A farmer said, noticing Spike's appearance while receiving five gallons of milk from a Miltank.

"Mil?"

"Looks like dragons, pa.." A little girl replied, narrowing her eyes while carrying her Skipoom. "Might be from that Dragons Peak place."

"Skiploom."

"Oh, that place. Eugh..." The farmer shuddered. "All those giant Pokemon and roughhousing. But...that one dragon looks kinda off, don't it?"

"I think it's one of those Equestria place dragons, pa. See, look at its eyes."

"Oh yeah...That little guy does have that Equestria look on him. Wonder what he wants?"

"Maybe something to eat? What do dragons in that world, eat pa?"

"Hey!" Spike then called out for the two people residing here at this mini-farm. They already had his attention via the Salamence that flew in along with Axew and Deino."

"It talks?" The little girl's eyes widened.

"Definitely from Equestria." The farmer nodded as he stood up. "What'cha need, son?"

"Oh, hi. I'm just stopping by or rather looking for a Pokemon."

"Which Pokemon? We've got a lot here. Grass, Flying, Normal, you name it. Unless you're looking for some Dragons." The farmer asked.

"Well...not right now. I'm looking for a Conkeldurr."

"Conkeldurr eh?" The farmer raised his hand over his head to block the rays of the sun.

"Yeah. See, over at this place called Dragons Peak, the Pokemon there are trying to make some sort of new place by using what's left of that really old village or town...or city...I'm not sure what it used to be. And I need Conkeldurr's help since it's the Pokemon skilled at construction."

"Dragons Peak, eh? Pretty scary place I'll tell ya that much. But building?"

"The Dragons there are trying to honour the people who used to live at that old village before. But uh...they don't really know how to build, ya know?" Spike chuckled.

"Hah. You don't need yourself a Conkeldurr. You can just have me." The farmer pointed at himself.

"Really?"

"Really. I made that barn and farmhouse with my own two bare hands ya know. I know a thing or two about building that's for sure."

"So you'll help?!"

"Pa's a bit scared of Dragons Peak because of all the dragons though." The little girl replied.

"It ain't the Dragons I'm scared of sugarcube...It's the giant Pokemon..." The farmer grumbled as he shuddered at the thought of witnessing those giant Pokemon again. "But sure. If they wanna honour some people from way back, leave it to me. I'll teach 'em a thing or two about building for sure."

"Miltank!"

"Awesome! Then I'll take that train and head to Roshan City and it'll be one step closer to Kyurem!"

"Kyurem? You're planning on meeting Kyurem?" The farmer leaned forward.

"Yeah. I'm on a journey to become a great Dragon Trainer. Challenging Kyurem's one big step to becoming a Dragon Master."

"Hm." The farmer raised his hat. "Alrighty then. Come on, ya'll. Let's get going."

"Okay, pa!"

"Skiploom!"

"Miltank!"

"Pelipper! Take care of the place while we're gone, why don't ya?" The farmer asked a Pelipper.

"Peli-pep-pep-pepper!" The Water Bird Pokemon saluted as Spike, the farmer and the rest got on their merry way to Dragons Peak. And in the distance, the train heading to Windy Station could be heard.

However, on this journey that Spike was taking, a group of two individuals were aware of his presence here. Two individuals that had once been hidden for so long but were now revealed.

These two are responsible for the appearance of Dynamax dens in Equestria, the Desires that infect people and force them to cause major problems and one of them was also responsible for Darkrai attacking Ponyville during the earlier days of the two words crossing over. They stayed hidden until Mewtwo caught them.

Those two were Lucien and Sienna.

"Dragon Quest? Where have I heard that before?" Lucien spoke as he and Sienna watched from the clouds as always. He then looked over at Sienna who was huddling with her knees up. "Are you still sulking?"

"No. Still just bummed out that Mewtwo caught us." She whimpered. "Stupid Mewtwo...why does it have to be so freakishly powerful? I blame Mew..."

"Get over it. It wasn't gonna last long anyway. Your whole Desire plan satisfied the Rift a bunch. Especially with what happened with J. Right now, why don't we try something quick and simple?"

"Like what?"

"That Dragons Peak had people that used to live there in the past right? Pokemon from the past as well." Lucien grinned as he raised his finger, sparking up some Rift energy. "I've got an idea..."

As the journey continues.

Chapter 434 End.
