Equestria. A mountainside out in the west. Day.
A relatively peaceful day in Equestria and the Pokemon World as well. Here at this mountainside, many Pokemon live peacefully with little to bother them. Aside from the faraway explosions from Pokemon Battles.
But, that peace wouldn't last for long.
Here in the mountains, a gateway had opened up, causing a booming sound that made nearby Pokemon run or fly away from being startled as the grass itself had been blown from the sudden gateway appearance.
And this gateway opening up was made by none other than Team Plasma, who had used the Travel Spheres to make their arrival. Now, they wouldn't need Ghetsis to constantly open some for them. And this time, they were joined by some allies. Allies in the form of the Umbrage Thieves that came straight from Empress Twilight's world or technically this world as well. They were working alongside each other to finish their missions.
The grunts and thieves of Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves were here on personal and important business. Mainly one that involves the capture and retrieval of innocent Pokemon. And they weren't going to waste any time as they already had Poke Balls.
"Alright. Go!" One grunt ordered as they all got to work, sending their Pokemon out. Their goal was to capture a select amount of Pokemon and bring them back to the Harmonia Kingdom.
Poison-Type Pokemon were sent out as they were immediately used to Poison moves to infect the grass and water of the mountainside, causing pollution in the process. Any Pokemon that couldn't fly were immediately caught by the poison. Their main Poison Pokemon were Garbodor, Arbok and Weezing, using their poisonous properties.
As for the skies, Rock and Ice-Types were the solutions to that answer, knocking the airborne Pokemon out of the skies when they tried to escape. And if any Pokemon attempted to fight back, there were grunts who were already prepared for that, ready to battle the rebellions Pokemon.
In just a few minutes, Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves had already overrun this area with their dirty tricks by restraining, harming and capturing all the Pokemon they could, Of course, they weren't going to capture every single Pokemon since they don't have enough Poke Balls for that. Just a good amount will do. Team Plasma's grunts weren't pushovers when it came to Pokemon Battling either.
The Pokemon didn't stand a chance and could barely fight back against the abundance of grunts arriving here. All the while, the gateway connecting to Pyrestar's world was still up as the air itself was being polluted, mostly thanks to Weezing alone and no other Poison-Type.
However, there was one Pokemon who wouldn't let this stand. A Pokemon that, realistically, only one of it should exist. But there is another in this world.
"That's good enough. Fresh out of Poke Balls too." One grunt said whilst restraining an East Sea Shellos with heavy chains.
"S-Shellos!"
"Let's head back before anyone from Canterlot gets nosy." An Umbrage Thief said as they all turned to face the gateway, ready to take the Pokemon they've captured back while the remaining Pokemon hid in fear or had been defeated by Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves.
It looked like both teams would get away with this scot-free.
But they weren't.
Far off in the distance, over the mountains and through the clouds, a purple sparkle could be seen closing in. The first to see this was one of the Pokemon that had been defeated. A Sandile saw this. And soon, everyone else noticed it. Not just because of its increasing size, but because of the sound that could be heard.
From how fast this sparkle was moving, it sounded like a jet was coming this way. And in truth, the being moving at that speed could easily surpass a jet if it wanted to.
"What is that...?" A grunt squinted while looking at the distance. They weren't sure what this sparkle really was.
But, once it finally got close enough and came into perfect view, it was soon revealed who or what caused this sparkle as a sonic boom could be heard in the distance, causing parts of the mountains to shatter from the force alone.
The shockwave of the sonic boom knocked the grunts off their feet as well from how far it went as the cloud formations had been split apart. The Pokemon that had done this was among one of the most powerful in existence.
Mewtwo.
Or rather, a Mewtwo.
"M-Mewtwo?!" The grunts all gasped as everyone looked up at the Genetic Pokemon while it looked back at them from above.
"Who?!" The thieves each said.
The Genetic Pokemon graced its eyes onto the Team Plasma grunts and Umbrage Thieves as it immediately recognized the grunts from the first glance. Not because they were humans, but because of their outfits. In fact, this wasn't the same Mewtwo that Ash, Twilight and the others met a few months back.
This was another Mewtwo that Ash met during his adventures in Unova. A Mewtwo that was familiar to Team Plasma. But that only made sense, since Team Plasma were the ones who made it.
"You." Mewtwo spoke as she seemed to have a more feminine voice compared to the other Mewtwo. This Mewtwo clearly wasn't happy to see the team that created her, even if they were grunts. She hadn't forgotten those outfits.
She had also witnessed how the two teams had captured many of the Pokemon here. Either in restraining objects such as cages, chains and such or even Poke Balls. And she also saw the Pokemon that were hiding or had been defeated. Obviously, this didn't sit well with the Genetic Pokemon as her eyes started flashing purple. Clearly, she was going to do something about this. And Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves could tell.
The Psychic-Type put her hand out as she used the move Psywave by creating a white force field that expanded rapidly around her. The lightning-fast forcefield blew away the nearest grunts while also breaking the restraints of the Pokemon, freeing them from the grunts and thieves' hold.
The grunts and thieves that had been hit were immediately knocked out as Mewtwo moved her hand around, using Psychic to grab the Poke Balls that had been used to capture the innocent Pokemon. The Poison-Types arguably got the worst out of it due to their weakness to Psychic as they were knocked out immediately from Psywave.
"H-Hey!" One of the grunts cried out as she had her Poke Ball stolen from Mewtwo.
"Hmph." The Genetic Pokemon released each of the Pokemon from their Poke Balls simultaneously with just her thought as she then later destroyed the Poke Balls, freeing the Pokemon from Team Plasma's ownership.
"Weavile! Use Night Slash!"
"Drapion! Dark Pulse!"
"Honchkrow! Foul Play!"
A few grunts and thieves who owned Weavile and other Dark-Types commanded.
"Wea-Weavile!" Weavile jumped up, covering its claws in a dark aura as Honchkrow flew next to the Sharp Claw Pokemon while Drapion and other Dark-Types fired Dark Pulse and Night Daze from afar.
Mewtwo narrowed her eyes as she was ready for all of them. She used Aura Sphere with one hand, creating a ball of Aura before expanding it and putting the sphere in front of her as a shield.
Weavile and Honchkrow gasped as they had crashed into the giant sphere of Aura before having the chance to avoid it, causing them to trigger its explosion as they were both sent flying back with a blue blaze.
Mewtwo then used her other hand to use another Aura sphere, this time shooting it at the ranged Dark-Type moves. The sphere of Aura easily powered through Dark Pulse and Night Daze, obliterating them before crashing into the Pokemon that fired the attacks, engulfing them in a blue gale of Aura. Some grunts and thieves were also caught up in this dome-shaped gale
More of Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves' Pokemon attacked Mewtwo by trying to overwhelm her. However, just like the other Mewtwo and technically every other Mewtwo in other universes, she was made for battle and her combat skills were raised to the ultimate level. So overwhelming her wouldn't do.
When some Pokemon got close, Mewtwo used Iron Tail to whack away any that were near her, swinging it about while also pushing some Pokemon back via Psychic.
The Genetic Pokemon ascended into the air, using Ancient Power as she sent multiple fossilized and pre-historic rocks flying as they rained down from above, attacking the opposing Pokemon.
It was completely one-sided.
Seeing that they stood no chance against Mewtwo, the grunts and thieves decided to escape while they had the chance. Mewtwo hadn't knocked all of the Poke Balls off of Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves, but it was still a considerable amount.
With what they had, the grunts and thieves ran away, jumping and passing through the gateway to escape from Mewtwo's fury. Even the Pokemon that had been defeated by Mewtwo quickly escaped while they can.
But, Mewtwo wasn't going to let that happen. She immediately flew after the grunts and thieves, ready to grab them all as she knew there were still some Pokemon left.
"Use Hyper Beam!" One grunt ordered his Drapion, pointed at the innocent and defenceless Pokemon instead of Mewtwo. And it was for one reason.
"Dra!" The Ogre Scorp Pokemon fired a gigantic orange beam from its mouth, sending it towards the Pokemon that lived here.
"Oh!" Mewtwo gasped as she turned to face the Hyper Beam. She couldn't allow innocent Pokemon to be harmed as she changed directions, flying towards the direction where Hyper Beam was being fired.
And that gave Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves the chance to escape as all of them passed through the gateway while the grunt retrieved his Drapion into its Poke Ball. Due to Drapion being recalled, Hyper Beam was cut off as it was now just a stray beam without a user firing it. But it was still going after the Pokemon.
As for Hyper Beam, Mewtwo could see that it might be too late to reach the Pokemon due to how fast the beam was travelling. She couldn't keep up with it. Unless she did one thing.
Mega Evolve.
By closing her eyes, the Genetic Pokemon tapped into the Mewtwonite Y, one of the two Mewtwo Mega Stones that exist out there. A multi-coloured aura surrounded her body, transforming the Psychic-Type into her Mega Form. Mega Mewtwo Y.
In this form, Mewtwo was much faster as she caused three sonic booms in one second instead of just one, moving at Mach 5 speeds.
It was just enough for her to appear in front of all the innocent Pokemon in time. The Genetic Pokemon then put one hand out, using her stellar Psychic power to hold the destructive beam of Hyper-Energy in place with a mere thought.
She then crushed the beam into nothing but tiny energy particles. It didn't even explode, showcasing just how powerful Mega Mewtwo Y's mental prowess was.
The Pokemon were safe but some of them had still be taken.
"Are you all alright?" Mewtwo asked the Pokemon as they all cried out in response, thanking the Genetic Pokemon for saving them. Mewtwo was grateful that they were safe but also felt guilt for not saving every single one of them. "Just as I thought...even when coming here this world also has those disregard Pokemon."
This was Mewtwo's first time here. Originally, she protected Pokemon in her world where every Pokemon originally originates from. But now that she's arrived here, she has more to protect than before. Especially after seeing the thievery that had happened here before her eyes.
Mewtwo was now in this world.
She looked over the horizon, knowing that potentially, Team Plasma and the Umbrage Thieves would strike again. Maybe not here like before but most likely, somewhere else in this magical land she had just arrived at.
And she was going to make sure that wouldn't happen again.
Ponyville, Twilight's lab. Day.
"New record!" Twilight exclaimed as she was currently going over a stat sheet with Rarity and her Pheromosa. "Pheromosa's definitely gotten faster than before."
"Really?" Rarity and Pheromosa looked at the stat sheet.
"Phero?"
"Mhm." Twilight nodded. "If this keeps up, then Pheromosa might travel faster than anything else out there."
"Wow! Doesn't that sound wonderful, Pheromosa? You'll be an absolute speed demon by the end of it all!" Rarity nudged her partner.
"Mosa-Mosa!"
"Thanks for helping me out with my research, Rarity. Pheromosa. Next, I'll test out Fluttershy and Scorbunny. They seem to be Trainer and Pokemon by this point after all."
"Is Scorbunny actually Fluttershy's Pokemon?" Rarity asked.
"I think so? Scorbunny seems to hang out with her a lot so..." Twilight shrugged as Spike took Pheromosa's stat sheet away, ready to place it with the other files on other Pokemon. Mainly Pokemon from PokePark.
But, before she could continue her research, the large Pokemon Energy Tracker in her lab starting going off, beeping rapidly at hyper speeds along with loud sounds that alerted everyone in the room.
"Oh!" Twilight's ears shot up as she and everyone looked at the tracker screen, wondering what was going on. Obviously, it tracks down the energies of Pokemon, mainly vastly powerful ones. And of course, a vastly powerful energy signature had been picked up on. A very familiar one too.
A Psychic energy signature.
"Psychic!" Twilight dashed over to the screen with her Pokemon. "And it's gigantic!"
"Espeon!"
"Is it another Mew this time?" Rarity asked.
"Maybe! There might a second Mew roaming around Equestria. But this one seems bigger than the rest..." Twilight gawked. The moment she and Rarity mentioned the name known as Mew, bursting through the doors was Pinkie Pie and her own Mew.
"Did I just hear another Mew nearby?!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed while entering the door at breakneck speeds with Mew.
"Mew-Mew!"
"Take a look!" Twilight pointed her hoof at the large screen. "It's Psychic for sure."
"Oooh...! Mew! Do you know how great this sounds?!" Pinkie raised Mew like a baby. "We could meet another one of your species! Doesn't that sound fun?"
"Mew!" Mew was certainly hoping for something like that. Playing around with another Mew could take him back to aeons ago when the Pokemon World was still early and Mew were the only Pokemon that populated the planet.
"We could be the first, aside from Ash, to not only discover one Mew but two Mews! And maybe later, three or four! Soon, we'll be able to form an entire Mew Renaissance the more we find! This'll be-" But, the moment Twilight said all that, the Psychic energy had suddenly vanished in a heartbeat, disappearing off the screen without warning. "Huh?! It's gone!"
"Hm. Must've gone to sleep." Rarity observed.
"Phero."
"Aw..." Pinkie and Mew pouted.
"Mew..."
"I-It was right there. So much of it." Twilight pressed her face on the screen. "Where could it have gone to?" Wondering where the energy signature went to, suddenly it reappeared on the screen as the purple circle flashed in Twilight's eyes. "Ow!"
"Oh, there it is!" Pinkie Pie gasped. "Look at that! It's moving!"
"Mew-Mew!"
"That means Mew's moving along Equestria now! And at such speeds too!" Twilight stood up, rubbing her eyes. "Quick! Let's hurry and find that Mew! We might be able to catch up to it in time!" The alicorn didn't want to waste any time as she started gathering the necessary gear to trek out and find what seemed to Mew.
"And what about Ash and the others?" Rarity asked.
"Huh? Oh, sure-sure!" Twilight nodded quickly while placing various objects in her saddlebag. "Whoever's available right now, let's tell them! Just hurry! This Mew's moving faster than expected."
"Toge! Togekiss!" Togekiss suddenly flew up to Twilight, calling for her.
"Huh? What is it Togekiss?" Twilight questioned in a hurry.
"Kiss! Toge! Togekiss!"
"Looks like Togekiss wants to tag-along too. How does that sound?" Pinkie Pie read Togekiss' wing movements.
"S-Sure! You can come along, Togekiss! Let's go already!"
"Toge!"
Equestria. Petilil Peaks. Afternoon.
One of the exclusive Pokemon locations. An extremely steep and mountainous region with deep green valleys and snowcapped peaks that almost reach the clouds. This location also had Dynamax dens and power spots that weren't active as of now.
Ash, Twilight and everyone arrived here, following the gigantic energy signature of Psychic energy, hoping to find another Mew here. But, since the signature was so huge and took up a large portion of the screen, this supposed Mew wasn't actually that close. It was just the immense Psychic power represented as a wide circle.
"Bit strange to track another Mew so soon, don't ya think?" Applejack spoke. "Only been a month since Pinkie Pie got Mew herself."
"Mew seems to be a very playful species from what we've found out," Twilight responded to Applejack while holding the tracker with her magic. "Another one probably found out about the gateways and came here to play."
"Another Mew...Lucky!" Goh grinned. "This'll be my chance and best chance to finally catch one. I totally knew there'd be more than one species out there."
"You're only saying that because you're still jealous about Pinkie getting a Mew, aren't you?" Chloe, who was also coming along with her Yamper said.
"Ah!" Goh froze after hearing that.
"Don't feel too bad, Goh!" Pinkie patted Goh on the back, letting out a chuckle that only struck Goh even further.
"T-Thanks Pinkie..."
"I remember you all talking about how you met one before, right? Or am I thinking of someone else?" Sunset Shimmer asked.
"You mean Mewtwo." Rainbow Dash responded. "We thought it was Mew but it was someone totally different. One powerful Pokemon."
"Powerful is an understatement. I still shudder at that battle we had with it." Rarity trembled in her hooves.
"Total wipeout." Spike nodded as the others agreed.
"Oh." Sunset scrunched her face.
"It could be Mewtwo now that I think about it...That is a lot of Psychic power." Twilight narrowed her eyes at the screen. "But why would he be here?"
"Mewtwo wants to protect all Pokemon from harm." Ash began explaining. "He already knows about this world, so it'd only make sense that he'd come here to try and protect other Pokemon that live here."
"Pikachu."
"We could get a chance to talk to him again." Pinkie Pie let out a wide grin. "I bet he'd enjoy talking to Mew, for sure! They'd be like brothers! Oh, wait...technically they are."
"Speaking of which, how long are we gonna keep walking? My hooves are kinda killing me right now." Sunset groaned.
"Mew's not as close as we think. Looks like it's heading north from here. We might end up at the Crystal Empire if it keeps going that way." Twilight observed.
"Can you hear it anywhere nearby, Audi?" Fluttershy asked.
"Audino." Audino tried to pick up on any sounds that might relate to Mew. She could hear the whistling of the Flying-Type Pokemon along with the birds living in harmony with the Pokemon. She could also hear the wind itself which would be the most important thing to listen to considering how fast the target was moving.
However, before Audino could really pick up on what could potentially be Mew or not, something else hit her ears. Something that greatly startled her.
The booming sound of a gateway opening up.
"Dino!" Audino's ears vibrated as she fell on her back with her heart beating rapidly. "A-Audino!"
"Audi!" Fluttershy rushed over to her partner. And at the same time, everyone stopped walking to face the direction of where the gateway appeared at.
And it was right up ahead. They all stood cautiously and on guard since they knew that the two forces that could open the gateways were Ghetsis and Empress Twilight.
And this time, it was Team Plasma who opened it. A second time in a row this day. This time, they came through in one of their many blimps instead of on foot. It seemed as if Team Plasma was more active in this world today, showing up two times in a day.
Everyone looked up, witnessing the blimp arrive as it had the Team Plasma logo on it. But while they all looked up, Audino, whose ears were ringing, could hear faint cries coming from the blimp.
"Team Plasma!" Ash and everyone gasped as the blimp had descended. They weren't expecting to see Team Plasma here of all places. And especially not today. As the blimp descended, the doors opened, allowing Team Plasma to exit and continue their work.
"Wait! Here?! Now?!" Sunset shuddered.
"Are they after Mew too?!" Pinkie Pie held her Mew.
"Mew...!"
"Whatever they're after, we won't let them get it." Ash already knew that questions weren't needed when it came to Team Plasma.
"Pika...!" Pikachu's red sacs started flaring electricity.
Team Plasma weren't alone. Like before, they had the Umbrage Thieves on their side. But now, they were joined by someone of great importance. Someone who essentially leading both groups and was a central part of Empress Twilight's empire.
A very familiar figure.
Luster Dawn.
"Luster Dawn...?!" Twilight said silently as everyone stood by the nearest mountain, hiding and spying there.
"That's her?" This was Ash and Pikachu's first time seeing Luster Dawn after hearing information about her when she first arrived at Ponyville.
"Pikachu?"
They continued watching the grunts as Audino's ears were starting to pick up on what they were saying. They had just recovered after that sudden gateway boom.
This is what she heard.
"Did you hear? Apparently, Team 1 came across Mewtwo earlier." A grunt said.
"Mewtwo? Which one? The one we made or Team Rocket?" A second grunt asked.
"Ours. Mega Evolution and everything. Ruined the whole operation for Team 1 in seconds."
"Too bad. Would hate to run into something that powerful. Kinda curious on which Mewtwo would win though..."
"Audino...?!" The Hearing Pokemon put her hands over her mouth to remain silent.
"What did you hear, Audi?" Fluttershy asked quietly.
"You all. Get to searching. I don't want to keep the Empress waiting." Luster ordered. "It wouldn't be fair to her if only Team Plasma gets the unique resources."
"Why do you need the Dynamax energy anyway?" A grunt asked as she took out her Poke Ball. "Your universe doesn't even care about Pokemon. Or even too involved with it."
"Those are disclosed for the Empress." Luster Dawn shoved the grunt. "Now quit jabbering and get to work! Grab any Dynamax Pokemon you can!"
"No, you won't!" Ash certainly heard that due to Luster shouting as he ran from the side of the mountainside, revealing himself. Everyone else wanted to continue keeping quiet to wait and do something but Ash immediately took action.
"Oh! Ash! Pikachu!" Twilight leaned forward after witnessing Ash and Pikachu dash off.
Now, Ash and Pikachu had revealed themselves out in the open with little secrecy. Everyone here. The grunts, thieves and even some of the local Pokemon saw him.
Then again, this was natural for Ash and Pikachu to be caught in the open.
"Pikachu!"
"Ash Ketchum?!" Team Plasma winced once setting their seething eyes onto possibly the most intimidating trainer to them that isn't Ghetsis. Although, Ghetsis isn't considered a trainer by many or even all really.
"Hm?" Luster raised an eyebrow, locking eyes on Ash. "That's Ash Ketchum? Not bad..."
"Worse than Mewtwo..." One grunt said as she was shaking in her boots.
"Like we'd let you take the Pokemon here!" Ash declared.
"W-What do we do?" One nervous thief asked.
"Don't get so shaken up." Luster Dawn replied as she stepped forward. "So you're Ash, hm? The Empress herself said that you were a potential threat. Much like the Pokemon themselves. But honestly, I don't believe that. Besides...you're on your own right now and surrounded by I'd say a couple eighty or so. Close to a hundred, really. And there's way more in that blimp over there."
"Pikachu and everyone else are by my side," Ash stated. "No way I'm on my own."
"Pika-Pika...!"
"Everyone?" An eyebrow was raised on Luster's face after hearing that. Ash was obviously referring to his friends. From the Pokemon in his pockets and Twilight and everyone else.
Obviously, Twilight and everyone were a bit nervous considering that Team Plasma was here of all places, but they weren't nervous to the point where they were afraid to confront them. Sheepishly, Fluttershy poked her head from the side, gently waving at everyone.
"Hello..." She said with a shy tone. The opposite could be said for Scorbunny and everyone else who came zipping from the side, revealing themselves. But, Chloe was still hiding as she was the least prepared for this.
"Oh." A surprised Luster opened her eyes, witnessing the arrival of some familiar faces. Ash certainly wasn't alone. "Guess not then. Ah, whatever."
"This isn't happening...not at all..." Chloe gulped, sitting behind the mountain while holding Yamper. Yamper actually wanted to get in there and take action like everyone else.
"Well? Don't just stand there! Some of you get them! And the rest of you get to those Dynamax things!"
"Why does she have to be in charge...?" One grunt sighed before grabbing his Poke Ball, sending his Pokemon out along with the rest of Team Plasma and even the Umbrage Thieves.
"Don't let them get to those dens!" Ash pointed forward. "Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!"
"Pika!" Without any hesitation, Pikachu jumped into the air, generating an aura of electricity around his body. The Electric Mouse Pokemon rolled in the air before the aura of electricity intensified, growing in size as he shot a giant blast of 100,000 volts from his body.
The bolt of electricity certainly moved at the right speed as it immediately hit the nearest Pokemon head-on. And they had just been sent out too. The Pokemon that had been hit by the Thunderbolt were all sent back by the sheer power behind it and how serious Pikachu was in this situation.
"Cryoganal! Use Ice Beam!" One thief ordered.
"Cryo...!" The Crystallizing Pokemon summoned a blue orb of ice, ready to fire it and freeze its opponents.
"Castform! Weather Ball!"
"Ninetales, use Mystical Fire!" But Twilight and Rainbow Dash were there to stop that as they ordered both their Pokemon. Castform was already in his Sunny Form due to the sunny weather, causing his Weather Ball to gain the properties of fire while Ninetales shot out a red-orange stream of fire from his mouth.
Both attacks hit Cyrogona directly, preventing it from unleashing Ice Beam as it took super-effective damage. Not only that, but Ninetales kept the stream going as the fire hit other Pokemon, grunts and thieves that were behind Cryogonal originally, especially Cryogonal's owner.
"Tch!" Luster Dawn scoffed as she ran off, heading for one of the dens with the rest of Team Plasma. Sunset and Starlight noticed this as they wouldn't let that happen. They both chose to go after Luster Dawn and prevent her from reaching her goal concerning the Dynamax Pokemon within the dens.
"Come out! Dragonite!" Ash sent his Dragonite out. And the same went for Spike who sent his Salamence out. Axew's always out since he prefers to stay out of his Poke Ball.
"Dragonite!"
"Use Hyper Beam!" Ash, Spike and Fluttershy each commanded their Pokemon that had Hyper Beam.
In perfect unison, the two Dragons and the one Normal-Type Pokemon opened their mouths, summing a yellow-orange ball of great disposition. At the same time, all three Pokemon unleashed Hyper Beam as the trio of beams merged to form an even larger and stronger Hyper Beam.
"Protect!" One grunt ordered their Crawdaunt to try and shield everyone in front of it with Protect by putting up a green barrier.
"Craw!"
Unfortunately, against three Hyper Beams that became one, that was a bit of a problem. The giant merged beam crashed into the barrier that Crawdaunt made, immediately engulfing it before shattering the protective shield in seconds and consuming the rest of the grunts, thieves and Pokemon they had.
Already, due to some impressive teamwork, many grunts and thieves had been defeated. And in little time too. But there were still more to deal with.
"My that's a lot." Fluttershy bit her hoof.
"Pah. It's ain't that many." Applejack scoffed. "Just watch. We'll clear them all out in no time."
Pyrestar's world. The Harmonia Kingdom. Afternoon. Ghetsis' throne room.
Right now, Ghetsis was unaware of what was happening right now in the other world. He was just sitting on his throne, biding his time as always with Hydreigon by his side.
But, as Ghetsis focused, Colress immediately came into the room in a hurry with concerning matters.
"Lord Ghetsis!"
"What is it?" Ghetsis' only eye opened up, shifting to Colress.
"Major news! The Mewtwo we've created! It's shown up!"
"What?!" Ghetsis sat up.
"The same Mewtwo that we commissioned to make many years ago. Just earlier today, during a retrieval mission, Team 1 had managed to encounter it. Mewtwo's appearance ended up botching the mission for us due to its arrival."
"So it found its way back to us did it?" Ghetsis smirked. "This is honestly a surprise. Maybe having one more Mewtwo wouldn't hurt. After all, it rightfully belongs to me. Where is it now?"
"Not sure. But it's bound to show up and try to stop our plans again. My guess is that it's because of Mewtwo's protective nature towards Pokemon. It freed the Pokemon that Team 1 tried to capture earlier."
"A softie, hm? I'll fix that soon enough." Ghetsis sat up. "So...if it decides to show up to protect the Pokemon, we'll just use that to lure it in."
"It might be heading for Team 2 right now. Their mission has just begun. For um...Empress Twilight, of course, and her Dynamax retrieval."
"Of course she would want her hooves on Dynamax. At this rate she'll want everything Pokemon based the more she finds out." Ghetsis scoffed.
Just then, Colress' communication earpiece started ringing. A call was coming in from Team 2. One that was urgent. Obviously, Colress couldn't ignore this. Especially on this day. It could be about Mewtwo.
"Team 2. Is it Mewtwo?" Colress asked.
"No, it's probably worse! Ash Ketchum and the rest have found us here! We're currently having some issues at the moment!"
"Hm?" Ghetsis' ears got a fill on that.
"Right now?" Colress leaned forward. "Well, get rid of them then."
"You fool." Ghetsis went up to Colress. "Like it'll be so easy to get rid of that brat. His friends maybe..." He then grabbed the earpiece, from Colress, taking it away and using it himself. "Listen. Return here immediately."
"Lord Ghetsis?"
"This is all for that Empress after all. She can have her Dynamax particles another time for all I care. Right now, do not engage with that brat or you'll just diminish our forces, understood?"
"Y-Yes, Lord Ghetsis. I'll let everyone else know." The call then hung up as Ghetsis held his face.
"That kid doesn't know when to keep his nose out of everyone's business does he?" Ghetsis groaned, feeling truly irritated with Ash. "Doesn't matter. Eventually, he'll live up to his name and become ash in the wind when this is all over."
"And the Mewtwo we made?" Colress questioned.
"We'll handle that later. Now's not the time. But perhaps...another Mewtwo, in particular, can solve that issue for us." The tyrannical ruler of Team Plasma smirked as he was obviously referring to the other Mewtwo that was currently being held here against its will.

"Lord Ghetsis says we should return for now!" The grunt exclaimed as he sent the message through everyone's earpieces. There was no arguing against an order from Ghetsis. They each nodded in understand after hearing that. Even the ones in the den right now.
And speaking of hearing, Audino, whilst in the midst of this conflict, was picking up on something else. And like before, it was coming from the ship. The Hearing Pokemon could hear the cries of other Pokemon more clearly this time. From how they were crying out, it was clear that there were captured Pokemon being held hostage on that blimp.
"Dino! Audino!" Audino pointed at the blimp.
"Captured Pokemon up there in the blimp?!" Fluttershy translated as Ash heard this. With no hesitation and time to think, Ash had already made his decision.
"They'll take them back there...I'll get them! Dragonite! Take care of everything else here!" Ash ordered as he and Pikachu ran towards the blimp while it was still on the ground.
"Dra!" Dragonite understood as she would continue to assist from the outside while Ash and Pikachu would take the inside. Little did they knew, this blimp would be leaving soon.
And that was something even Luster Dawn wasn't aware of yet.
And at the same time, far off in the distance, a certain Genetic Pokemon was arriving in response to the sound of a gateway opening and the potential cries of worry of Pokemon as the journey continues.
