It was time, Luna’s final double battle and it was against a girl named Ebony Nox and she was from Lumiose city in Kalos. She had black hair with some silver in it, she was wearing a dark velvet vest with a hood and pair of black cargo pants, she also had a pair of black sneakers.

Both trainers was ready, and it was time to show their Pokémon, Ebony was up first. She took out two Pokéball’s and threw them into the air, out came two Pokémon Luna hadn’t seen before. One of them look like combination of a sword and a shield, the Pokémon was floating in the air. The other one was standing on its rear legs, it was yellow, orange and black, it also look like it had an umbrella on its head.

Even James who was sitting on grandstand had no idea which Pokémon Ebony was using. “What the…? Who are those two…?” He was clueless so he took out his dex.

The girls notice that. “What’s the matter James? You don’t know those two Pokémon?” Fluttershy asked him who was sitting by his right side.

“Can’t say that I do, hang on a minute.” He said while getting his dex ready.

Before he could see their data. “The yellow, orange one is called Heliolisk, but I don’t know the other one.” Said Sara.

James still check his dex, he started with the sword and shield one.

Aegislash the royal sword Pokémon. Apparently, it can detect the innate qualities of leadership. According to legend, whoever it recognizes is destined to become king.

James study the data. “Huh, that’s interesting.”

“So, are Ebony queen or something?” Twilight asked him who was sitting behind him.

“I doubt it, I’m guessing that Ebony is a very skilled trainer. Let’s see the other one.” He pointed the dex on Heliolisk.

Heliolisk the generator Pokémon. They flare frills and generate energy. A single Heliolisk can generate sufficient electricity to power a skyscraper.

James was impressed by the data so was the others. “It can power up an entire skyscraper? That’s so cool.” Said Dash.

“I hate to admit it, but I agree with Skittle on that.” Dash didn’t like that James called her Skittles, he didn’t care.

Then it was Luna’s turn, she threw two Pokéball’s. “Come out Shelgon and Gabite.” Out came the endurance and cave Pokémon, ready for battle.

James was a little surprised when saw Luna’s choice. ‘Well now, this should be interesting’s.’ James thought to himself with a small smile on his face. Celestia sat that he smiled, and she couldn’t help but wonder why.

Then the battle started, and Ebony attack first. “Aegislash, use slash on Gabite. Heliolisk, use thunder on Shelgon.” Aegislash switch form so it look like it had a shield for a hand, then its blade started to glow as Aegislash flew towards Gabite. Heliolisk send away a powerful electrical attack.

Luna was ready. “Quickly Gabite, use dig.” The cave Pokémon managed to dig a hole to avoid the attack. “Doge the attack Shelgon.” The endurance Pokémon managed somehow to jump back fast enough to avoid Heliolisk attack. “Use zen headbutt on Heliolisk.” Then Shelgon ‘head’ started to glow and then he rocket himself forward with incredible speed which surprised Ebony and Heliolisk, the generator Pokémon was hit. “Do it Gabite.” He cave Pokémon appeared right under Aegislash and send it flying.

“Don’t give up Aegislash, use slash again.” The royal sword Pokémon managed to straighten himself up and attack Gabite again who didn’t have any change to get out of the away, considering he was in the air, he was hit hard and fell to the ground which also landed hard. “Heliolisk, use dragon tail on Shelgon.” Luna’s eyes widen when she heard that, considering she that dragon moves was very effective against dragon Pokémon. Heliolisk jump up in the air as its tail started to glow green, then it did a somersault and managed to hit Shelgon. It didn’t look like that Shelgon got hurt but he did.

Luna could just watch as her Pokémon got hurt. “Are you two okay?” She asked them in a worried voice. Gabite managed to get up and Shelgon, he just answered her. “Alright then, Gabite used dragon claw on Ageislash. Shelgon, use dragon breath on Heliolisk.” Gabte claws started to glow as he ran towards his opponent while Shelgon breath out a purple mist.

Ebony was ready. “Ageislash, use king’s shield.” All off sudden, Ageislash change stand from sord to shield, its shield was now in front and a barrier appeared which stop both attacks.

One the stand, James and the other was surprised of what happened. “What the…? What kind of move was that? I have never seen it before.” The girls definitely didn’t know.

Luna was just as confused as James, she had seen many moves before but not that one, she needed away around it and she knew one. “Use dig Gabite.” The cave Pokémon dug another hole. Ebony wasn’t happy by that and then Gabite came up from the ground and hit Ageislash stopping its attack.

Ebony knew what to do. “Quickly Heliolisk, use dragon tail on Gabite.” The generator Pokémon’s tail started to glow green and then he jump up and swung it at Gabite who was still in the air, he was hit in the stomach sending him flying towards the ground. “Now attack Shelgon.” Heliolisk landed on the ground and rocket towards the endurance Pokémon.

“Move it Shelgon.” It was too late, Heliolisk was too fast for him, and he was hit hard. Heliolisk started to push Shelgon backwards. “Don’t you give up Shelgon, shoe Heliolisk how strong you are.” That was enough to for Shelgon to push Heliolisk. Then all off sudden he started to glow which made Heliolisk to jump backwards, Shelgon started to grow, and the entire stadium was silence while it happened. When Shelgon stop glowing a brand new Pokémon stood there.

The new Pokémon was twice as large as Shelgon, it was blue and white shells on its stomach, it also had red wings. “SALAMENCE.” Was its name.

Rainbow Dash thought that was cool. “Awesome, Shelgon became bigger.”

The other also thought it was pretty cool but not James, he was worried. “That’s not good.”

“What do you mean partner? Luna’s Shelgon just evolved, he can fly now.” Said Applejack.

“That’s the problem, Luna’s Salamence, which is its name, is afraid of highs.” James told her.

The others was surprised when they heard that. “Please tell me your joking, a Pokémon with wings can’t be afraid of highs?” Said Dash. “Can it?” The others agreed with Dash on that.

James pointed at Salamence. “Just look at him, he his nervous.” All off them look at Salamence and James was right, Salamence was looking around and he look nervous and afraid at the same time.

“What does that mean for my sister?” Celestia asked James.

“If Salamence can’t get over his fear of highs in the next minute, there’s a big change that Luna could lose.” That wasn’t good.

Luna on the other hand had taken out her dex to see the data.

Salamence the dragon Pokémon and the evolved form of Shelgon. Salamence came about as a result of a strong, long held dream of growing wings. It is said that this powerful desire triggered a sudden mutation in this Pokémon’s cells, causing it to sprout its magnificent wings.

She put it away. ‘Alright, Shelgon evolved but it looks like he’s still afraid of hights, I have to work around that.’ She had to attack and luck for her Salamence had learn some new attacks. “Salamence, use flamethrower on Ageislash.” Salamence open its mouth and flames came out from its mouth which headed towards it opponent.

Ebony just smiled. “Use king’s shield again.” Ageislash change stand again stopping the attack, Luna couldn’t help but curse when she saw that. “Use shadow ball on Gabite, Heliolisk use dragon tail on Salamance.” Both Pokémon attack.

“Both you, doge the attacks.” Gabite managed to jump backwards so attack missed but Salamance was that lucky, he wasn’t fast enough to jump backwards, and he was to scare to use his wings. “What are you waiting for Salamance? Use your wings.” Its was no use, he was to scare, he was hit hard.

This couldn’t continue, if Salamance didn’t get over his fear of high then Luna would lose. “Salamance, you got to get over your fears.” He look at her as he had failed her. “We are all afraid off something and the only thing we can do is to face our fear, that means you have to fly.” Salamance didn’t want to disappoint Luna, she didn’t get ride of him when she found out he was afraid of hights, she didn’t care at all.

While Luna was buys talking with Salamance, Ebony decided to attack. “Use dragon tail on Salamance again.” Heliolisk tail started to run, and his tail started to glow again, he swung his tail to hit the dragon Pokémon. then out of nowhere, Gabite took the hit and it hurt.

Everyone in the stadium was in utter shock when the saw what Gabite just did, he just took the hit that was meant for Salamance and Luna didn’t give him any order. Salamance just watch has his friend landed on his back and it look like his was in pain. “Would you get a grip.” Said Gabite as he got up. “Luna trust you, she trust us to win this match.” He turned around to face Salamance. “Are you going to let her lose just because you are afraid of hights? Man up.”

Gabite was right, he had to man up. Then Salamance notice that Ebony’s Pokémon attack again. “Get on my back Gabite.” The cave Pokémon didn’t hesitate at all, he got on Salamance back and the dragon Pokémon spread his wings ready to fly. Salamance managed to fly up right just as the attacks was about to hit them.

Luna couldn’t believe it, Salamance was actually flying and maybe this was the opportunity to end this. “Gabite use dragon pulse and Salamance use flamethrower.” Salamance flew around and then they both attack at the same time. Ebony tried to warn her Pokémon, but it was to late, the attacks hit, creating an explosion.

The entire stadium was silence as they waited for the smoke to clear, Salamance landed on the ground to let Gabite to get off. When the smoke finally cleared, they could see that Ageislash and Heliolisk lying on the ground unconscious.

“Ageislash and Heliolisk is unable to battle, Gabite and Salamance is the winners, the victory goes to Luna.” The judge announced.

The entire stadium went crazy when the heard that. “THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS, LUNA GOES TO THE NEXT ROUND.” Said the announcer.

Luna couldn’t help but smile, she ran over to her Pokémon and she gave them both a hug. “We did it.” Then her mod went from kind to anger. “If you two do anything without me given you an order, then you two are in big trouble.” She look at Gabite. “Don’t you dare throw yourself in front of one of your friends like that ever again, do I make myself clear?” Gabite just nodded and Luna was happy for that. She then look at Salamance. “Nice work when it came to facing your fear.” The dragon Pokémon just smiled.

Luna had done it, she was now among the top 32.
