Ferrum Stadium. Dark Colosseum. Another universe.
Shadow Mewtwo had arrived, showing itself to the people and Pokemon of Ferrum once more. And especially Ghetsis the newcomer to this universe.
Ghetsis stepped forward as he was the one here for Shadow Mewtwo. The trainer and League Master Elinn backed away as they were confused as to why Ghetsis, a non-contestant of the Ferrum League was suddenly stepping up. But, with how many times Shadow Mewtwo has appeared after Promotion Tests, it wasn't too farfetched to believe that someone would go up against the corrupted Mewtwo.
"I've been waiting for this." Ghetsis said, staring Shadow Mewtwo in the eyes. Unlike most Mewtwo', this one wasn't much of a talker. Even with telepathic abilities.
Everyone in the stadium already knew what Shadow Mewtwo was capable of. So, the best decision they all collectively made a run for it, screaming and panicking. No one wanted to be caught in the ferocious destruction that Shadow Mewtwo brings. Even the League Master and the trainer who had passed his Promotion Test ran from here as Shadow Mewtwo was draining all the Synergy Power here.
Now it was just Ghetsis, his Hydreigon and Shadow Mewtwo. Alone in the Ferrum Stadium which was now subspace made by Shadow Mewtwo.
"If I catch you..." Ghetsis held out an Ultra Ball as he was saving his Master Ball. He didn't want to waste it. "I'll soon turn my kingdom into an Empire in no time."
"..." Shadow Mewtwo simply narrowed its flashing purple eyes at Ghetsis as it had suddenly Mega Evolved on the spot with the Mega Symbol emerging. Out came Mega Shadow Mewtwo X.
Those flashing purple eyes weren't just there to intimidate. Instead, that was Miracle Eye. A move that enables a Dark-type target to be hit by Psychic-type attacks.
"Hoh. Mega Evolution too? How promising!" Ghetsis grinned as his Hydreigon flew in front of him. "I'm going to have so much satisfaction when I catch you! Go! Hydreigon! Dragon Rush!"
"Hydrei!" The Brutal Pokemon went first. Hydreigon released a blue, dragon-shaped energy that covered his body as he then dived forward, heading straight for the Mega evolved Mewtwo.
"Hm!" Mewtwo actually conjured up some understandable words as it put its arm out, creating a forcefield to protect it from Hydreigon.
The Dark-Dragon-Type slammed into Mewtwo's forcefield, causing a force that was slightly strong enough to make Mewtwo move back a bit as Hydreigon was now trying to break through the forcefield.
Mewtwo could see that with how much force Hydreigon was putting in, he would eventually break through the forcefield and eventually hit Mewtwo. Shadow Mewtwo obviously didn't want that to happen as it quickly let down its forcefield before teleporting away. And at a precise moment too. Hydreigon was one second away from charging into Mewtwo as the Brutal Pokemon ended up missing Dragon Rush.
"Drei?"
"Hm!" Shadow Mewtwo put both its arms out, using Ancient Power by summoning pre-historic rocks from the crystallized ground. The Genetic Pokemon then launched each of them at Hydreigon.
"Brutal Swing!"
"Dreigon!" But, these pre-historic rocks were quickly destroyed by a swing of Hydreigon's two head-mouths as they were covered in darkness. The rocks crumbled to dust.
"Hmph. Even after using Miracle Eye to remove my Hydreigon's immunity to Psychic...you're still nervous to use any Psychic moves, aren't you?"
"?" Shadow Mewtwo gasped as Ghetsis easily saw through it.
"Such weakness. Power like that should be used to its fullest extent! Let me show you! Throat Chop!"
"Hydreigon!" Bolting off the ground with his wings flapping aggressively, the Brutal Pokemon covered both his head-mouths in dark energy, ready to swing them violently at Shadow Mewtwo.
Mewtwo quickly counteracted by using Ice Punch, covering one of his hands in chilling absolute-zero ice. Mewtwo's ice-clad fist quickly connected with Hydreigon's darkness covered head-mouths. One of them at least. The two of them seemed to be equal in physical strength as they were both pushing their attacks onto each other, trying to breakthrough.
"Gon!" Hydreigon then used his other head-mouth with Brutal Swing still active, swinging it at Mewtwo's head.
"Gouh!" Shadow Mewtwo certainly felt that hit to the head as it was launched back by the impact of Brutal Swing. Hydreigon wasn't done as he pursued the corrupted Pokemon with another Brutal Swing in use.
Mewtwo held its head before using Psystrike. The Genetic Pokemon created a white force field that expanded rapidly from its body. It grew to such an alarming rate that Hydreigon wasn't fast enough to evade it. So, it just decided to hit the forcefield instead. Upon hitting Psytrike with Brutal Swing, the collision of two opposing moves caused an explosion on contact that shattered the crystals of this subspace.
Both Hydreigon and Mewtwo were knocked back by the explosion of their attacks meeting, hitting the hard crystal ground and making more black crystals shatter and fly into the air.
"H-Hydrei...!" Hydreigon got up from the ground before shaking all three of his heads. "Dreigon!"
"Ngh...!" Mewtwo also got back up, holding its head as it slowly ascended from the ground shattered ground. Compared to both Pokemon, Mewtwo seemed to have taken the most damage from that collision from what Ghetsis could observe.
"Strong but fragile. That's fine. We can work around that. Hydreigon! Draco Meteor!"
"Drei! Hydrei...!" The Brutal Pokemon opened all three of his mouths, charging up high amounts of destructive draconic energy of unbridled malice. Hydreigon then shot several spheres of black energy into the sky, where they each exploded and releases several gigantic energy meteors that rained down on the area.
"!" Mewtwo's eyes widened as it immediately decided to evade them by flying as fast as it could. The meteors rain down at a fast pace as well. The crystals were being obliterated by the raining Dragon-Type move each time they hit.
And even though this whole place had been transformed into a Subspace for Shadow Mewtwo, Ferrum Stadium was still taking damage on the outside. After this is over, it'll look like an absolute mess afterwards.
The Genetic Pokemon flew in zigzags, trying its best to avoid the raining meteors which seemed to have no end. But with how many meteors there were, it seemed like eventually, Shadow Mewtwo would be caught by one.
But, Ghetsis decided to do some interfering of his own for the battle. By using Dark Magic, he put his arm out, aiming it straight for Mewtwo who was moving all over the place. Even with this destruction happening before him and constant explosions with crystal shards flying everywhere, Ghetsis could still focus properly and keep his eye on Mewtwo.
"Gotcha." Ghetsis said as manipulated one of the shattered crystals with his Dark Magic, sending it straight towards Mewtwo.
"?!" Mewtwo noticed the long sharp crystal coming towards its face as it quickly moved to the side, just barely avoiding the crystal. It had almost grazed its face. But, Ghetsis was planning for this. With Mewtwo being distracted by something else for a brief moment, that allowed one of the meteors to finally catch up and appear before Shadow Mewtwo.
The Genetic Pokemon gasped as it had been struck by a meteor larger than its entire body. A direct hit as Mewtwo was now being plummeted down with a meteor forcing him. Unable to counter back in time, the meteor crashed with Shadow Mewtwo hitting the ground first, taking the real brunt of the impact.
Ghetsis watched as the explosion of the meteor on Mewtwo merely made his hair and cloak blowing in the wind. Completely unbothered as the rest of the meteors kept falling, spreading more destruction.
Eventually, the meteors came to an end as the subspace crystal arena was an utter mess. Hydreigon's mouth was smoking after using Draco Meteor, narrowing its eyes and waiting to see the result of Mewtwo's status.
And from the rubble, a pillar of darkness shot up with a roar. And in that pillar was Shadow Mewtwo who was still up but very damaged. The Genetic Pokemon was enraged. More than it ever has been. To take out all of its anger, Shadow Mewtwo activated its Synergy Burst with its entire body flaring with Synergy power. The corrupted Mewtwo then bolted forward, using Drain Punch on its fist.
"Hydreigon! Dark Pulse!"
"Hydrei...!" Hydreigon opened up its mouth, ready to blast out darkness. But, Mewtwo seemed to be faster than before in an enraged state and Synergy Burst. A rush of adrenaline was going through it. Before Hydreigon could unleash his attack, Mewtwo smashed its fist onto the stomach of the Brutal Pokemon. "D-Drei!"
Hydreigon coughed as Mewtwo had drained its opponent of its own energy with sparkling green orbs flying out. Mewtwo then used Low Sweep, kicking Hydreigon back as the Brutal Pokemon hit the ground. A sort of payback for what Hydreigon did to Mewtwo.
But, Mewtwo wasn't done yet. It was about to unleash its Burst Attack on Hydreigon. And the most fearsome part about this was that unlike most Pokemon in Ferrum, Shadow Mewtwo does not run out of Synergy. Ever.
The Genetic Pokemon bolted into the air, leaving behind a sonic boom as it flew so high up and at such a hyperactive speed that it immediately flew out of the atmosphere, entering space. Ghetsis couldn't even react in time to see Mewtwo leaving the planet.
Mewtwo looked down at Earth, ready to finish this once and for all. It raised its arm before summoning a black and purple sphere of darkness. The size of an entire city. This attack was known as Dark Nova.
Mewtwo was still weakened from Hydreigon's attack as its arm was twitching when holding the sphere. But, Shadow Mewtwo had some strength left in it. With a powerful yell, the Genetic Pokemon then tossed the giant energy ball down.
Hydreigon got up to see the city-sized sphere heading straight for him and this entire arena. "Hydrei?"
"Such amazing power." Ghetsis was truly stunned by how wonderful Mewtwo was. "But...Not only will I have that power for myself, but I will also surpass it entirely. And everyone else. Hydreigon! Let's finish this! Hyper Beam!
"Hydrei...!" One last charge. Hydreigon gathered up all of its remaining strength, going at full power this time. Black spheres of hyper energy formed in all three of his mouths as the city-sized sphere was nearing. "Gon!" Then, the Brutal Pokemon eventually released all three Hyper Beams at once from his mouth.
The three large beams collided with the sphere, entering a power struggle. Both moves were competing against each other with Mewtwo watching from above.
However, this struggle wouldn't last forever. Since Mewtwo was a bit weakened along with its Dark Nova, the attack couldn't sustain itself forever.
As for Hydreigon, he seemed to have more energy left in him. Along with his Hyper Beam. Speaking of which, he increased the intensity of Hyper Beam, expanding its size and power. The increased beams of Hyper energy eventually gained enough strength to break through Mewtwo's Dark Nova, leaving a huge hole.
"?!" Mewtwo witnessed its own attack completely overpowered as the three Hyper Beams, now larger than ever, raced towards the Genetic Pokemon. Shadow Mewtwo quickly put up another forcefield with Psystrike, hoping to block the attack from properly connecting.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time.
One Hyper Beam was already strong enough. Two more was just pushing it. All three beams met Mewtwo's expanding forcefield, immediately breaking through it just like how they did with Dark Nova.
Unable to hold the attack back, Mewtwo had been hit by three Hyper Beams. Each equal in strength. The Genetic Pokemon had been consumed, screaming as its body was being assaulted by all that malicious power coming from Hydreigon as Ghetsis simply watched the attack reach space itself.
Afterwards, all three Hyper Beams and Dark Nova eventually blew up. Whether from hitting Mewtwo or the large gaping hole that had been made. Both explosions were black-coloured with darkness when they went off as the cloud formations had all been parted.
"Ugh..." Shadow Mewtwo groaned as it fell from above in space. Obviously, from a height that far, it would take a while for the Genetic Pokemon to reach the ground.
The damage was so great that Mewtwo's Mega Evolution had expired. Even its permanent Synergy Burst was no longer permanent at this point. Out of energy and a weakened state, more weakened than it has ever been, Shadow Mewtwo re-entered the atmosphere as its body was catching on fire due to how fast it was falling.
Ghetsis saw the corrupted Mewtwo falling as the subspace was starting to fade away. That was a clear sign that Shadow Mewtwo's power was waning. Hydreigon at this point had won. And so did Ghetsis.
"Perfect." Ghetsis held out an Ultra Ball. "You won't have to worry about losing anymore...I'll make you unstoppable! Shadow Mewtwo!" He then chucked the Ultra Ball with his only arm, sending it straight towards the falling Pokemon.
Mewtwo groaned as it saw the Ultra Ball heading for it. It tried to push the ball back but it was too weak and damaged to even let out a slither of Psychic energy. One eye closed as Shadow Mewtwo couldn't stop the inevitable hit. All it could do now was hope that it wouldn't be fully caught as the Ultra Ball hit, sending the Genetic Pokemon inside.
The Ultra Ball placed Mewtwo inside as it dropped to the ground. Now, all Ghetsis and Hydreigon needed to do was just wait.

Gotcha! Shadow Mewtwo was caught!
"Looks like I didn't need that Master Ball either way." Ghetsis approached the Ultra Ball as the subspace Mewtwo had created was fading away.
Ferrum Stadium came back into view as the result of Hydreigon and Mewtwo's battle had littered the stadium, making it a mess and the outcome for a disaster.
Everyone had left the stadium by this point. And it was a good thing. If they stayed behind, there was no telling what kind of casualties would've occurred.
Ghetsis picked up the Ultra Ball as he had accomplished his main mission here. And in little time as well. Shadow Mewtwo was now his.
"You've certainly gone above and beyond, Lord Ghetsis. More than you ever have."
"I certainly have." Ghetsis placed the Ultra Ball back in his pocket as it shrunk. "Not even Legendary Pokemon will be enough to stop me. Especially once I reach the absolute apex of what I am truly capable of. Actually...I think I might come for this world as well. This Synergy Power could prove to be useful."
"I'll make sure to mark it down then."
"We're done here for now." Ghetsis held his arm out, opening the gateway to Pyrestar's world. "Hydreigon. Let's go."
"Dreigon."
There was no need to be here anymore. Ghetsis had Shadow Mewtwo and that was all that mattered. Of course, commanding Shadow Mewtwo wouldn't be easy. But, Ghetsis was going to make sure that it would be easy for him.
But not so pleasant for Shadow Mewtwo.
Pyrestar's world.
Ghetsis had returned. All of that felt too easy for him. Not a drop of sweat or even a scratch. His old age didn't matter in this. It was almost as if he was regaining the energy of when he was younger. Perhaps from all the Dark Magic he now had in him.
Colress, some grunts and the Shadow Triad welcomed Ghetsis back to the kingdom, congratulating him for achieving his Shadow Mewtwo mission.
"A job well done, Lord Ghetsis," said Colress.
"Hm." Ghetsis took out the Ultra Ball that caught Shadow Mewtwo. "You know what to do with this one. Work on Shadow Mewtwo like the others."
"But of course." Colress took the Ultra Ball as he went over to his lab. "I can't wait to see what Synergy Power is truly capable of."
"What now, Lord Ghetsis?" A grunt asked.
"Now? I have other plans in mind." Ghetsis sat on his throne. "I haven't forgotten about capturing that Flurry Heart pony. Remember. We capture her during the chaos of the invasion."
"Right." The Shadow Triad nodded.
"As for what I'll do next after all of those goals are cleared out..." Ghetsis pondered for a moment before sparking up a new idea. "Actually...since I have Dark Magic now...perhaps...?"
"Lord Ghetsis?"
"Tell me." Ghetsis looked at his arm, conjuring up Dark magic. "Shadow Triad. You've already been to that Ponyville place, haven't you?"
"Yes. To capture the Rift Pony known as Cold Colt."
"Eventually, I'll need you to head back there. That Princess Twilight should be identical to Empress Twilight in many ways. Knowledge of magic should be one of them. Head to her castle or lab, whichever one and retrieve any book about magic. I want to test something for myself. Retrieve it when she and her Pokemon are away. Understood?"
"Understood."
So much for Ghetsis to achieve in other worlds. As the Shadow Triad and the grunts left the room, Ghetsis could now sit, pondering and preparing himself for his next big move.
Colress's Lab.
At Colress's lab, where all of his secret and uncomfortable experiments happen, he was ready to experiment with Shadow Mewtwo. To, of course, make it under Ghetsis' full control without any resistance.
But Shadow Mewtwo wasn't the only Pokemon to be a part of this experiment. In a weakened state, Colress released the Genetic Pokemon out of the Ultra Ball while it was inside of a tube. Very identical to how Mewtwo was first created.
"...?" Mewtwo, after being released from the Ultra, slowly opened its eyes. The first thing it saw was Colress and his entire lab. By this point, Shadow Mewtwo know that it had been captured and was now trapped in a containment tube. It hadn't even been healed so it didn't have enough Psychic power to break free. But that didn't matter since Colress already prepared for something like this.
And that was for obvious reasons. But there was one major reason. And it involved the other individuals inside of the large and expansive lab.
Mewtwo slowly shifted its eyes to the side as it spotted new Pokemon that were also inside of this lab. At least, Pokemon it was familiar with.
Reshiram was here.
The same Reshiram that Ghetsis stole from another universe in Unova. It was currently being restrained and experimented with so that it could also follow Ghetsis' order. And it wasn't the only Legendary Pokemon also here. Because Ghetsis has been busy all these months. There was one more as well as a Mythical Pokemon.
Suicune and Zeraora.
This Suicune and Zeraora actually came from Ghetsis' own world in Johto and Alola. He wasn't just travelling to alternate worlds. They too had been restrained and currently being corrupted to serve Ghetsis. Currently, they were unconscious after months of experiments that were essentially torture to all of them.
Even the mighty Reshiram couldn't break free of Colress's expertise inventions. This isn't the first time he's interacted with Legendary Pokemon or even Reshiram after all.
Not just Legendary Pokemon or Mythical Pokemon were here. Average Pokemon were also being contained. More specifically the ones that could Gigantamax instead of the lesser Dynamax. But Pokemon who couldn't Gigantamax and only Dynamax were here too. Colress wanted to work on Galar Particles more after all. Along with other things that Team Plasma had gotten their hands on.
"...Gr!" Mewtwo tried to break free by using Psystrike, but it was too weak to do so. A weak and small forcefield came out of its body and barely even shook or budged the tube it was in. It was truly trapped.
"Alright then." Colress adjusted his glasses. "Like others, you'll eventually fully serve Lord Ghetsis with no restraints. And as a bonus, I'll have the chance to learn what Synergy Power truly is. This'll be fun."
