//------------------------------// // Doki Doki forever // Story: Doki Doki new school // by dragenfire68 //------------------------------// Monika could only see darkness until a scene came into focus and she wanted to scream, but she couldn't and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't turn away or wake up, in front of her was something she hoped she wouldn't ever see again. Sayori hung with tear stains on her cheeks, Monika wanted to scream and thrash but something got her attention, Sayori's eyes were solid green and not the clouded blue of her corrupted version, she was about to take a closer looked when the scene blurred and shifted and now she was standing inside their new house but something was wrong. All the lights in the house but the kitchen were off, in the living room were two bloody hands laying in pools of blood, she got close enough to see a swath of bloody purple hair, she was about to enter when she heard the last breath of a dying girl in the kitchen, she turned around and looked behind the island in the kitchen and wanted to throw up. Natsuki was laying in a pool of her own bile and blood, on the counter above her was a jug of bleach tip on its side, and around her mouth and down the sides of her cheeks were horrible chemical burns, Monika's urged to vomit only got stronger. Monika wanted so desperately to wake up and end this nightmare, but the scene shifted again and this time the girls and Mc were held upright by strings like bastardized puppets, Monika's horror and revulsion turned to rage as she examined the strings before looking up. A pair of blue hands held the strings to Sayori and Yuri, Purple hands held MC and Natsuki, and the yellow hands were hovering over her menacingly before coming down to grab her, she turned to run only to find her arms and legs were restrained by the same strings that had the others. The hands forced her to code a gun and put the barrel in her mouth, but before she could pull the trigger, A yellow and Red sun pierced the darkness around her, and before her eyes banished the hands and with them the visions of her dead friends, they were replaced with smiling and happy faces. Monika's eyes snapped open as she woke and she frantically ran to the bathroom and threw up into the toilet before sitting in the corner with her back to the door and tried to sob as quietly as she could before she devolved into crying hysterically as the visages of her dead friends haunted her mind. Monika's panic attack was not as quiet as she hoped it was, Yuri was a light sleeper since the cuts on her arms always made it hard for her to fall asleep and stay asleep, which is why she had woken up to the sounds of the sloshing water before and then crying. "Oh goodness, Monika what's wrong?" Yuri gently asked with concern making sure to approach Monika slowly. Monika opted to simply cry in Yuri's arms until it died down into sniffling which allowed Yuri to help Monika to her feet and took her to the kitchen, where she prepped calming tea for both of them, Monika took the cup her hands shaking badly enough that the tea was almost spilling from the sides. "Are you well enough to tell me what happened?" Yuri gently asked Monika, who nodded and took a shaky breath. "At first I saw black, then my dream shifted like a cutscene and I saw Sayori... and then it shifted and I saw only your arm and MC's arm lying in pools of your own... Poor Natsuki was the worst because I heard her last breath... She did it with bleach... I tried to wake up but I couldn't, then there were these hands that had you all suspended like marionettes except for me, but then I was captured and then this weird red and yellow sun appeared and banished the hands and fixing you all," Monika explained. "You couldn't wake up, I figured that you of all people could easily wake from a dream you didn't like." "That's the worst part, I tried so hard and I couldn't." "Hmm, wait here I think I can help you," Yuri said as she quickly got up and ran down into the study, before coming back with an armful of books, from what Monika could see, they were occult books. Yuri gently spread them out on the table, before flipping rapidly through a rather old-looking one, she stopped and read a passage, then started flipping through another book she brought, this went on until five books were open to what Monika thought were random chapters. "Just as I thought, it wasn't a dream at all," Yuri concluded after she was finished with the fifth book. "What was it then if it wasn't a nightmare?" Monika asked. "I think because we are not from this world, our fate is twined with the hero of this world, and because of that you had a vision about what happens if you fail." "So essentially a game over, unlike our world if we fail we fail for good." "Yes, now what else do you remember about the dream, we need all the details if we are to change the future." "Natsuki's eyes and Sayori's were solid green, they only reverted when they died." Yuri flipped some more pages while making little humming noises before returning to Monika. "I hypothesis that Sirens will be our main adversary, and whoever possesses the gold and red sun will be our salvation to beat them." "How did you deduce that?" "Think about it, Beings that can magically hypnotize humans and forces them to kill themselves, it makes sense." Sirens would have sounded insane to anyone else, but after living as a living program for most of her life before being brought to life by a god that decided she was worth the trouble, she would put her faith in Yuri's hypothesis. "I'm gonna go back to bed, we'll tell the others tomorrow about this little premonition, good night Yuri." "Goodnight Monika, I think I'll stay up and look through more of these tomes, maybe I'll learn a thing or two about magic from some of these things."
