My Name

North Star

He stared at the blue flower. This was the gateway to the ponies of this world. They wouldn't attack him, if he just laid down in the field...

A light grey Pegasus was stepping foot into the armored Ponyville, were the Autobots planned their every move. And unbeknownst to them, a spy. Starscream.
This Pegasus had a sharp, striking red and blue mane and tail. His wings, grey, red, and blue, with golden yellow tips. His eyes, a bright red. His cutie mark, a shooting star, symbolizing his speed.
His name?

North Star.

Well, when treated as a pony.

As he walked, the town was happily humming as it always did, shining joy as it always did, being as bright as it always is.
He hated it.

For now.

It seemed the Autobots were no where to be found right now. This made him grumble to himself, walking down the main path.
'Great. I have to wait around now. The longer I stay in this pony form-! I swear, I will not last another-"

*Bump!*

North Star rubbed his head with his hoof in slight pain, more annoyance.
"Can you watch where you're going?!"

"Terribly sorry, sir."

When he looked up, the talented, recently reformed, unicorn Starlight Glimmer was starting to stand from the tumble. A box and its contents were littered all over the ground.

"I was a little too wrapped up in my thoughts to notice you there." She started to levitate the supplies back into her box.

'Of course you were.' Starscream thought.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever."
He stood, and noticed some unusual objects she was carrying. She started walking away. Curiosity got the better of him, and he started to follow her.

"What's in the box?"

"Just some things for my friendship lesson." Starlight explained, showing him the contents of the box.

"Friendship lesson?" He asked.

"Yeah. I used to be... Not a good pony. But, I'm learning how to be a good friend, as Twilight's pupil." Starlight smiled.

'Well that sounds just peachy.' He thought sarcastically.

Starlight stopped walking and turned to North.
"Hey, if you aren't doing anything later today, maybe we can continue this at the local cafe this afternoon. After my lesson and such."

Starscream thought about it.
'So she's a pupil of Princess Twilight Sparkle. If that's true, then maybe I could get to the bots through her...'

"Um, sure. I have nothing else to do."

Starlight smiled at him, starting to walk away. "Great! I'll see you then!"

North Star stared at the light purple unicorn as she trotted off. He then sighed heavily.
'Now I have to make friends with her.'

But, as things happen in Equestria, the right choice always prevails.

Starscream was waiting for Starlight, sitting down on a stump at the Ponyville café. On it, a vase of the cafe's famous dandelions.

'When will she get here?' He thought, impatiently tapping his hoof on the stump. His tapping slowed however, as his eyes had wandered to his two front hooves.

'Hmmm...'

He stared at them, this weird, non-worldly pony body as his current state. Yet, it strangely felt refreshing to be a horse...

He herd a spell being cast, and glanced up. Starlight had arrived, and walked over to him, a little surprised.
She chuckled. "I didn't think you'd take me up on the offer."

North Star blinked with confusion. "What? What do you mean?"
With that, what Starscream knew about ponies was thrown off slightly. He, like every Decepticon, thought that all ponies fully embraced friendship. Turns out this one was strangely... Still new to it.

Starlight rubbed the back of her head. "I'm kinda new to this whole.. Friendship thing."

"Really?"

Starlight sat across from him. She sighed. "Yeah."

She was silent for a moment, thinking about how to word it.
"I- brainwashed an entire town into thinking their special talents made them too different, and that those differences would tear them apart."

North Star gasped.
Not because of how cruel it was, but because it was so unexpected. Coming from a pony no less..?

Starscream was now highly interested in Starlight's life story, whether he knew it or not.

"Then, I ripped apart time because I wanted revenge on Twilight and her friends."
Starlight paused to reevaluate what she just said.
Starlight just emotionally told another pony about her past. She was honest. But the craziest thing was that she didn't even know his name yet!

Just a sign of things to come for the two as the days would pass.

"My first friend moved away when he got his cutie mark. I thought it was the mark's fault. But I was wrong. Just because somepony goes way, doesn't mean they'll be gone forever." Starlight spoke, levitating one the dandelions from the vase, gazing at it. She sighed sadly.
"I guess I was jealous of how Twilight and her friends are so close. They would never separate. But, even when I was at my lowest.. Twilight and her friends offered their friendship to me. I was stunned. I guess I should be thankful, which I am, don't get me wrong. Its just been kinda hard making new friends."

Starscream was astonished. Not only of the story she told of, but of how friendship made her a better person as a whole...
'What am I thinking?! How could this primitive race use friendship like this?'

North Star was speechless.

Starlight sighed again, this time apologetically. She levitated the flower back into the vase.
"I shouldn't be bearing you with my life problems. It was rude of me."

North Star snapped out of his shock.
"No, no, it's okay. You needed to get it out of your system, I can understand that." As soon as those words left his mouth, North suddenly stopped.
'Did I just say that?!'

Starlight was surprised. She was expecting more of an emotion of concern or fear. Instead he was sympathetic. Starlight could feel a smile growing on her lips. This could be another new friend. Not known by any of the mane 6.

North shook his head, trying to get these thoughts rid of.

"I would love to hang out with you again." North's eyes shot up to the periwinkle unicorn. She seemed a little excited.

"So would I." North said, nodding. He glanced down.
'This may be easier than initially thought.'

"Oh, I never caught your name. What is it?"

North Star looked up at Starlight. Her smile was genuine. North Star mentally sighed with relief, and gave a polite smile back.

"My name's North Star."
