As the ship was getting closer to New Bark Town Turquoise was excited to begin her adventure. The ship pulled into port and then lowered the rail for everyone to disembark.
“ We arrived in New Bark Town, Everyone please leave in an orderly fashion, Thank you for riding Pelipper Ferry Services, and welcome to Johto,” The captain said over the intercom as the passengers left the ferry. Turquoise looked around and felt a slight breeze. She looked around for someone to ask for directions until she ran into a woman who looked to be in her late thirties.
“ Excuse me I’m looking for Professor Elm’s lab,” Turquoise asked.
“ The Lab is on the east side of town, it's the big building you cannot miss it,” The woman said. Turquoise thanked the woman and was on her way. A few minutes later Turquoise found the lab and as soon as she went inside she was approached by a Totodile. The Totodile unleashed its water gun on Turquoise while laughing.
“ Totodile that was very rude,” A man with glasses and light brown hair said before picking up Totodile. “ Sorry about that, this one can be quite mischievous.
“ It’s fine,” Turquoise said before removing her jacket. “ By any chance would you be Professor Elm?
“ I am and I’m going to assume your Turquoise the trainer Gary told me about?” Professor Elm asked.
“ I am,” Turquoise said.
“ Pleasure to meet you and this is for you,” Professor Elm said before handing Turquoise a pink square device that had a white Pokeball design on it. “ Professor Oak forgot to give that to you before you left so he sent it here. It’s a new Pokedex with an updated database with the new pokemon the Pyramid King Brandon discovered in the Crown Tundra. Turquoise opened it and used it on Totodile to try it out.
“ Totodile. The Big Jaw Pokemon. Despite the smallness of its body, Totodile's jaws are very powerful. While the Pokémon may think it is just playfully nipping, its bite has enough power to cause serious injury,” The Pokedex said in a female computer voice.
“ So what are your plans for the Johto Region?” Professor Elm asked.
“ I’m planning on entering the Johto League and the Johto Grand Festival,” Turquoise said.
“ Both good goals,” Professor Elm said. As they were talking a boy with black hair and yellow eyes wearing a black track jacket with matching pants and shoes walked in and got Professor Elm’s attention. “ You must be the new trainer that was scheduled to come today.
“ I sure am. I’m Loki and it’s a pleasure to meet you,” Loki said.
“ Well Loki as I’m sure you already know new trainers get a choice between three pokemon as their starter. First up is the Grass-Type Chikorita,” Professor Elm said before calling out a small light green plant creature with a leaf sticking out of its head.” Next up the Water-type Totodile. Totodile began dancing around at the mention of its name. “ And the Fire-Type Cyndaquil. Elm called out a little cream and bluish-colored mouse-like creature that suddenly ignited a small flame on its back from being excited. Turquoise pulled out her new Pokedex to learn more about Chikorita and Cyndaquil.
“ Chikorita. The Leaf Pokemon. In battle, Chikorita waves its leaf around to keep the foe at bay. However, a sweet fragrance also wafts from the leaf, becalming the battling Pokémon and creating a cozy, friendly atmosphere all around,” The Pokedex said before moving on to Cyndaquil. “ Cyndaquil. The Fire Mouse Pokemon. Cyndaquil protects itself by flaring up the flames on its back. The flames are vigorous if the Pokémon is angry. However, if it is tired, the flames splutter fitfully with incomplete combustion. Loki took a moment to think and then made his choice.
“ I chose Cyndaquil,” Loki said as Cyndaquil ran up to him and smiled.
“ Good choice here is Cyndaquil’s Pokeball,” Professor Elm said before giving Loki the Pokeball.
“ Thanks,” Loki said.
“ And here is your Pokedex and pokeballs,” Professor Elm added as Loki took them. Before Loki left to begin his journey he asked Turquoise if she would be willing to battle him.
“ I’m afraid I must decline since my Espeon is much stronger than your Cyndaquil and it wouldn’t be much of a fair match,” Turquoise said.
“ Come on please,” Loki asked.
“ Listen you are new and I am the current champion of the Indigo League in Kanto so maybe after you grow a little as a trainer I will accept your challenge,” Turquoise said.
“ Fine but be ready to accept when we next meet,” Loki said before leaving.
“ If you are interested in competing in the Johto League then registration is in Cherrygrove City which is the next town over just take route 29,” Professor Elm said.
“ Thanks for telling me,” Turquoise said.
“ Good luck on the rest of your journey,” Professor Elm said before Turquoise left.
Sometime later Turquoise arrived on Route 29 which looked almost like Route 1 except smaller and shorter. As Turquoise kept walking she noticed a lot of Pidgey and Rattata but not much else. As soon as she saw Cherrygrove City on the horizon she suddenly fell into a trap hole. Before Turquoise could ask who dug it a couple of familiar faces appeared above the hole.
“ Long time no see, Dorkette,” A familiar female voice that belonged to Isabelle of Team Supernova said.
“ Team Supernova? But I thought all of you were rotting in jail and the organization was disbanded?” Turquoise asked in shock.
“ Correction only the Kanto branch was disbanded. Team Supernova has branches in all eight regions so we still have seven branches left,” Isabelle said.
“ As to why we are here when our bosses escaped they picked a select few of us to take with them to the Johto HQ so here we are ready to steal your Pokemon,” Chris said.
“ Not if I can help it,” Turquoise said before pulling out Espeon’s Pokeball.
“ Oh no you don’t, Metang use Psychic. Suddenly a floating creature made of blue metal with silver spikes and magenta eyes used its Psychic to take Espeon’s Pokeball before it could pop open. Turquoise used her Pokedex to learn more.
“ Metang. The Iron Claw Pokemon and the evolved form of Beldum. Using magnetic forces to stay aloft, this Pokémon flies at high speeds, weaving through harsh mountain terrain in pursuit of prey,” The Pokedex said.
“ So you know about my Metang big deal. Too bad there is no way anyone is coming to save you,” Chris said before he and Isabelle broke out in evil laughter. Little did they know another familiar face was about to make herself known in a few seconds.
“ Cinderace use Pyro Ball,” A familiar voice said as a ball of fire nailed Metang and dropped Espeon’s Pokeball back into Turquoise’s hands.
“ Another Dorkette?” Isabelle said in shock as a rope was lowered down for Turquoise to climb out with. As soon as Turquoise climbed out of the hole she was surprised to see another familiar face.
“ Fluttershy? Where did you come from?” Turquoise asked.
“ I decided to travel the Johto Region for my next journey. I’m guessing you had the same idea?” Fluttershy asked.
“ Sure did but we can talk later right now let’s beat these guys,” Turquoise said before calling out Espeon.
“ Like your going to beat us with that did you forget my Mightyena is a Dark-type which Espeon is both weak and ineffective against,” Isabelle said before calling out Mightyena.
“ I didn’t forget about that. But Psychic-type moves are not all my Espeon knows. Espeon use Swift. Espeon unleashed a powerful swift that sent Metang and Mightyena crashing into Isabelle and Chris and sent them flying off into the horizon. “ Well done Espeon now return.
“ You return as well Cinderace,” Fluttershy said as she recalled Cinderace.
“ So how are the others doing?” Turquoise asked.
“ Twilight and Rainbowdash decided to compete in the Galar League against each other, Rarity decided to pursue the Sinnoh Grand Festival. And Pinkie and Applejack decided to take a break from their journeys, As for Sunset, she decided to become Professor Celestia’s assistant,” Fluttershy explained.
“ Sounds like they are chasing their own goals,” Turquoise said.
“ They are, As for me I came here to continue my studies to be the best Pokemon breeder ever,” Fluttershy said.
“ Cool, My goal is the same as last time,” Turquoise said.
“ Say I have an idea why don’t we stick together since it’s just the two of us?” Fluttershy suggested.
“ Sure,” Turquoise said as they both continued to Cherrygrove City. As soon as they got there the sun was beginning to set. Luckily the Pokemon center was not that far and they made it in time to book a room. Turquoise also used this time to register for the Pokemon League.
“ Sure let me see your Pokedex,” Nurse Joy said before taking Turquoise’s Pokedex and scanned it. A few seconds later Turquoise was all set. “ And here is your badge case. Nurse Joy handed Turquoise a pink case that had the Pokemon League symbol on it. As dinner time rolled around a flock of black bird-like pokemon that had what looked like witch hats began to gather as Fluttershy was cooking. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for more info.
“ Murkrow. The Darkness Pokemon. It searches for shiny things for its boss. Murkrow’s presence is said to be unlucky, so many people detest it,” The Pokedex said. As Soon as Turquoise put her Pokedex away one of the Murkrow swooped down and snatched Turquoise’s pendant. Turquoise ran after that Murkrow and even had Espeon use Swift on it. Murkrow countered with her own Swift which was just Mirror Move. the fight kept going with both sides taking damage. Turquoise then pulled out a Pokeball and decided to end the tie by catching Murkrow.
“ Go Pokeball,” Turquoise said as she threw her Pokeball which made contact and absorbed Murkrow and caused her to drop the pendant. Espeon used Psychic to catch it before it hit the ground and then floated it back to Turquoise. As for the Pokeball, it clicked shut indicating the catch was successful. “ I just caught a Murkrow. Turquoise then used her Pokedex to scan Murkrow to see what moves she knew. “ Looks like Murkrow has Peck, Astonish, and Mirror Move, not bad. After she recalled Espeon Turquoise returned to the Pokemon center just in time for dinner.
“ There you are I was about to go looking for you,” Fluttershy said.
“ A Murkrow stole my pendant but don’t worry not only did I get it back but I also caught that Murkrow,” Turquoise said before calling out both her pokemon. As soon as dinner was done everyone called it a night.
The next day Turquoise and Fluttershy were on their way to the next City which was Violet City. Turquoise was looking forward to having that rematch with Falkner. As they were walking a dense fog rolled in and sent them into the forest without them noticing.
“ Where are we?” Fluttershy asked.
“ Don’t know this fog is so dense I can’t see anything,” Turquoise said. As they were walking the fog began to lift slightly giving the girls some visibility. They now noticed they were off the path and into the forest. They then arrived in front of what looked like a lake with a mysterious blue silhouette on top of it. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for any info on this creature but could not get any due to the fog obscuring it from view.
“ Unable to Identify pokemon,” The Pokedex said. Before Turquoise could try again the creature ran off as the fog was completely lifted revealing a crystal clear lake with many water-type Pokemon enjoying it as if the lake was suddenly purified.
“ I think I know what we just saw,” Fluttershy said.
“ Care to explain?” Turquoise asked.
“ Twilight was doing some research on Legendary Pokemon and one of her studies brought her to a pokemon called Suicune who has the ability to clean and purify the water of contaminated lakes and I think we just witnessed the end of the Purification,” Fluttershy explained. Turquoise typed in the name and suddenly the data on Suicune appeared.
“ Suicune. The Aurora Pokemon. Suicune embodies the compassion of a pure spring of water. It runs across the land with gracefulness. This Pokémon has the power to purify dirty water,” The Pokedex said. Turquoise and Fluttershy made their way out of the forest and back on the path towards Violet City which leads to a Dark Cave. Turquoise and Fluttershy entered the cave and kept going.
