Chapter three: Rainbow Hormones

A few hours after Rainbow Dash had her fight with Mrs.Harshwhinny, she was out in the fields near the school as she watched the foals do their routines. She, however, was instead blown away seeing the cutie mark crusaders finishing their routine. She was somewhat taken aback by the Cutie Mark Crusaders and their performance seeing how well they were working with each other. As the cutie mark crusaders finished, the daredevil mare rose up and started to clap her hooves and exclaimed, "that was awesome! I can't believe what I just saw!"

Scootaloo trotted over and looked up at Rainbow Dash and asked, "so what about me? Did I pull through?"

She flew over to Scootaloo and wrapped her hooves around the little filly and pulled her into a hug, and wrapped her wings around her. "Oh, you were just so good! I'm so proud of you!"

They held each other together until the little orange-coated filly squirmed about. "Alright, let me go!"

The pegasus finally got out of her grip and got out of her grasp as she brushed herself off, and then Rainbow gasped out loud. "I didn't hurt you or anything!"

"Of course not, but you're getting too…um emotional…." Scootaloo squeaked out.

Rainbow paused if the cutie mark crusaders were the ones who were telling her she was over-emotional and she's probably going overboard. The daredevil mare scratched the back of her mare and stammered. "Right…sorry…"

"Yeah, it's fine…but…um, are you really pregnant?" The little orange filly asked in a curious tone.

Rainbow cheeks flushed pink she didn't even remember telling them. "Well, it's complicated. I didn't get pregnant the normal way; it's more of some magical mumbo jumbo."

"How do you get pregnant the normal way?" All the fillies asked in unison. Rainbow was now just standing there, getting flustered as she definitely put herself in an awkward situation.

The mare stepped back, not sure what she should say, and stammered, "um…well…um ask Cheerilee, ok? She's your teacher…um, keep just up the good work! I'll see you tomorrow!" She then flew off to observe other foals hoping that the three fillies just dropped the subject.

Later that evening, Rainbow Dash was coming back home; she was exhausted, tired, and somewhat annoyed as she slowly went through the front door.

Winter was in a loveseat nearby; she looked up at her with a smile, "Hey, how's it going?"

"Ugh, horrible, I just want to eat and go to bed," Rainbow grumbled under her breath, and she went straight to the freezer. She then took out a tub of ice cream and then started to shove giant scoops into her mouth. The mare paused before opening the fridge, throwing some jalapenos in the tub, and dumping an entire bottle of hot sauce inside.

Winter just stood there shaking her head, "seriously, more ice cream?"

"Well, I can't compete in the Equestria Games, and I have a foal that I didn't plan, and I just exposed myself in front of every pony." The daredevil mare complained as she chomped down on a spoonful of ice cream. Rainbow Dash then threw the tub back in the freezer before she trotted back herself to bed and plopped on top of it. That was when Winter came over and replied, "Wait? You told more ponies you're pregnant?"

Rainbow didn't want to talk about it. Still, she knew her marefriend wouldn't let it go as she looked over and grumbled, "well…I did kind of have a mental breakdown in front of Cheerilee's class, but that bitch Mrs.Harshwhinney was getting on my nerves."

Winter held up a hoof and continued, "Hey, no judgment on my part."

She then followed Rainbow Dash to bed, and the two mares laid down next to each other as Winter brushed Rainbow's mane and asked, "So, you spent all day judging at foals doing their performances?"

Rainbow Dash turned towards the ceiling and exclaimed, "yeah, overall, it was awesome! They were amazing! You should've seen the cutie mark crusaders!"

"Sounds like you're not bipartisan in this." Winter snickered.

It was just a joke, but Rainbow got a bit agitated by the comment and turned to her marefriend and sighed, "can we just snuggle and not talk about today? I honestly just want to go to sleep."

Winter nodded, and the two snuggled each other as they laid in bed together for the night.

The next afternoon after watching the cutie mark crusader's performance, Rainbow Dash was just completely confused about why it was so horrible. As the three fillies finished, she came over and asked, "what happened? Your performance was so much better yesterday?"

Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle just rolled their eyes at each other. As Scootaloo stomped a hoof, "it's fine! It shows that I can fly, and that's what's important!"

Rainbow had a feeling about what's happening with Scootaloo and ruffled her mane. "hey, it's ok, I think you three just need more practice, ok?

"Alright…" Scootaloo grumbled irritably; something was obviously bothering her, and Rainbow wanted to help her deal with any issues she's going through. Rainbow didn't even know why she was starting to feel this need to help Scootaloo at any cost." Um…after you finish your practice, do you want to come over to my place for dinner?"

"Sure, that sounds fine, "The little orange filly grumbled as she kicked the dirt with a hoof seeming to be still irritated about something. Rainbow nodded as she flew off, wondering why she was acting so strange? Hopefully, she can at the very least help Scootaloo with what's eating her.

Later that evening, Rainbow Dash led Scootaloo to her home through the air as Scootaloo started to ask some questions, "hey um, so how did you get pregnant?"

Rainbow sighed as she was hoping to avoid questions about her but replied, "I got pregnant on accident when I went to an ancient city of Phoenixopolis where they had their goddess reincarnated into me."

"Oh wow, that's crazy!?" Scootaloo exclaimed.

Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. She still can't believe that all happened to her as well as she continued, "yeah, I know, and if I'm being honest, I don't really want to talk about it."

"Alright," the orange-coated filly whispered.

Rainbow slammed a hoof to her face. Scootaloo seemed to be going through a lot already; she shouldn't take her anger out on her. As they entered her house, they came upon Winter, wearing an apron, and she's obviously been busy cooking dinner. She flew over and, with a big smile on her face, "oh hello, Scootaloo! It's so nice to meet you!"

The orange-coated filly cheeks flushed pink as she replied, "yeah, it's nice to meet you too, Winter. I heard you're a goddess of Winter, is that true?"

"Yes, it is a little filly!" Winter chirped and ruffled Scootaloo's mane. "Your Scootaloo, right?"

"Y...yeah…" Scootaloo stammered with her cheeks flushing pink. Rainbow was happy to see Scootaloo warming up so they can get her to talk more during dinner.

Winter turned to Rainbow and asked, "so I made spaghetti with a spicy tomato sauce. Along with a side of ice cold pasta salad. I'm sure that you like it!?"

"Like it!? That sounds great! A lot of carbs for tomorrow!" Rainbow Dash cheered as she flew to the table looking like an excited school filly. Scootaloo also got excited as she skipped over and sat down in a seat across from her.

Winter then went about serving them Rainbow Dash got both while Winter stuck with her pasta salad; Scootaloo decided to mix both like Rainbow Dash. They ate their meal together as they talked about the performance tomorrow. Scootaloo tried to remain silent throughout the meal, not really wanting to talk about it. But Rainbow decided to try to get her to open up and eventually asked, "Hey, what's up? You seem to be down in the dumps?"

The orange-coated filly looked down at her meal and whimpered, "I… I'm just nervous about tomorrow because I can't fly."

"Hey, don't sweat it; you're going to be fine if you fly or don't, "Rainbow replied back. She knew that filly was rather self-conscious of her ability to fly. Still, she seemed to be more anxious than usual. She bent her head down then asked, "did Diamond Tiara say something?"

"Ye…yeah…" Scootaloo whimpered as Rainbow rolled her eyes, "don't listen to a word to that jerk? She's just a bully; you can do whatever you want as long as you put your mind to it."

"Stop it, alright!? We won't be able to win the competition with a pegasus who can't fly!" Scootaloo snapped back.

"Hey, don't take that tone with me, young lady," Rainbow replied back.

"You're not my mom!" the orange filly shouted back.

Rainbow paused as she started to sweat a little, realizing she was overstepping boundaries, "yo...your right, I'm just trying to say that even if you can't fly, you're going to do great tomorrow, so don't worry about it, ok?"

Scootaloo nodded as she finished her meal along with the older mares. Things got relatively quiet as they finished up; an orange-coated filly asked, "so um…I guess I should be going now? Don't want my aunts to worry about me."

"Yeah, I'll escort you home, ok?" Rainbow suggested as she got up and took the little filly on her back, and then soared out from her house and headed to Scootaloo's home. On the way there Rainbow couldn't help but feel motherly to the little helpless orange filly on her back clutching her tightly. The mare felt so comforted by the fact Scootaloo was on her back and she wanted to make this flight take as long as possible. It didn't take long as they came to the front door, and Rainbow gave the filly a pat on the head, "you need anything else?"

"Nope, I think I'm good, "Scootaloo whispered; she then rushed over and gave Rainbow Dash a hug, and the mare held the filly close. Then they broke the embrace as the orange-coated filly went into her house. The daredevil mare just stood there with a smile, and tears came down her cheek. She paused and gave herself a chance wiped her eyes and grumbled, "ugh, what's wrong with me?"

The daredevil mare then flew off she definitely was getting more emotional with these hormones rushing through her body and she could only hope she can somehow remain neutral tomorrow...but Rainbow knew deep down that was a lie.
