My Little Pokémon

Delayed Aura Ataxia

Pallet Town, Kanto. Day.

Some morning food was about to be served to Ash and his Pokemon. Delia had already cooked something up for them and she knows how excited Ash and his Pokemon get when it comes to food. And they had already got to their usual devouring antics, scarfing down the food at high speeds.

Although, something was off today. While everyone was eating their food, the only one not having a bite was Ash, who had only eaten half of his food.

"Thanks for the food," Ash said in an unenthusiastic voice.

"Hm? Ash? What's going on? You've only eaten half the amount you usually eat.." Delia asked.

"For some reason, I don't feel like eating..." Ash scratched his hair.

"Impossible!" Delia bellowed as she leaned in on Ash's face. "That's not the Ash I know and love! Is something bothering you? Do you have a fever?"

"Uh, no I don't think so."

"It's unusual to see you not gulp down all your food, Ash. Something's definitely wrong."

"PikaPi?"

"I'll just get out there and do some stuff. Maybe that'll do the trick." Ash got off the chair, putting his hat on.

"You do that. How about heading to Ponyvilel to see your friends?" Delia recommended.

"Ponyville? Sure. Pikachu. Everyone. Let's go."

"Pikachu!" Pikachu hopped onto Ash's shoulder while the rest of his Pokemon were ready to return to their Poke Balls.

"Have fun" Delia waved goodbye to Ash and Pikachu. But, she was a bit worried about why Ash was acting like this today. It was bizarre to see. And Delia had a feeling it might get worse for her son on this specific day.

The Pokemon House, day.

"Here goes nothing." Twilight was currently with Applejack and Rarity. They were all about to partake in some triple Mega Evolution, ready to see what their Mega Evolved Pokemon were like. Absol, Sceptile, Ampharos and Lopunny respectively. And hopefully, get some sweet new info out of this.

At the same time, Twilight, Applejack and Rarity activated their Mega Accessories, initiating Mega Evolution. Four golden lights shot out of their accessories while blue lights came out of the keystones, clashing against each other like DNA.

Absol, Sceptile, Ampharos and Lopunny felt their bodies transforming slightly. But not by much. They closed their eyes as a light red aura consumed them all.

Afterwards, the light burst open, separating as the Mega Evolved forms of Absol, Sceptile, Ampharos and Lopunny had been revealed.

Absol resembled that of an angel with his mane standing up more. Sceptile had a more draconic look to him from his extra additions and drastic change to his tail. Ampharos had a beautiful long flowing mane and Lopunny seemed to have undergone a style chance with her ears while having less fur now.

"Oh!" Twilight shot up as she took her Pokedex out along with the others. "Have a look at those!"

"Absol. The Disaster Pokemon. When this Pokémon whips the winglike fur on its back as though beating its wings, it sends an intimidating aura flying at its opponents. As the energy of Mega Evolution fills it, its fur bristles. What you see on its back are not true wings, and this Pokémon isn’t able to fly. Normally, it dislikes fighting, so it really hates changing to this form for battles. It converts the energy from Mega Evolution into an intimidating aura. Fainthearted people expire from shock at the sight of it."

"Sceptile. The Forest Pokemon. With hidden dragon blood being unleashed, this Pokemon's tail grows longer and develops a red stinger at the tip. Sceptile can cut off a portion of its tail to fire it like a missile at an opponent. Its lost tail will continue regenerating as long as it still has the energy required for Mega Evolution."

"Ampharos. The Light Pokemon. Excess energy from Mega Evolution stimulates its genes, and the wool it had lost grows in again apparently awakening its long-sleeping dragon’s blood. When it increases the amount of electrical energy within itself, the red orbs on its body and wool emit a strong light."

"Lopunny. The Rabbit Pokemon. Mega Evolution awakens its combative instincts. It has shed any fur that got in the way of its attacks. It swings its ears like whips and strikes its enemies with them. It has an intensely combative disposition."

"Aw. I was hoping those were actual wings." Twilight sighed. "But it still looks great on you anyway, Absol! I didn't even know that all Absol hate this form because of battling."

"Sol." Absol turned to the side.

"You're part Dragon now? That's what I like to see, Sceptile!" Applejack received a high-five from Sceptile.

"Sceptile!"

"You look stunning with that hair, Ampharos." Rarity climbed on Ampharos's hair, feeling its smooth and silky texture. And you as well Lopunny. Less fur looks fairly good on you."

"Ampha."

"Lopun."

"So that confirms it. Mega Evolution is some sort of awakening energy." Twilight was taking notes. "Lopunny's instincts, Sceptile and Ampharos's hidden dragon blood and Absol's aura."

"What a relief." Fluttershy flew over. "Some of the Pokemon here were a bit worried about Mega Evolution but everything seems fine now."

"Sure does. I've got a good feeling about our future battles thanks to Mega Evolution. By the way, where's Spike?" Applejack wondered.

"He said he was off to do some solo Mega Evolution training." Twilight explained. "Apparently, he's going to be doing it more often to control Salamence's brutality when he Mega Evolves."

"I heard about that," said Rarity as she sighed. "Poor Salamence. And poor Spike having to deal with that."

"No need to worry. Spike's got this under control. We'll have something for him when he gets back anyway." Twilight replied. "Oh, but first! Shining Armor, Cadence and Flurry Heart are gonna be having a vacation at Alola today."

"Vacation at Alola?" Rarity responded.

"Right. Just for one day though. I'm actually eager to join in with them." Twilight squeed before turning around to see Ash and Pikachu arriving at the Pokemon House. Oh! Ash! Pikachu! Morning!"

"Morning." Ash waved hello to them with less energy than usual.

"Pikachu!" But Pikachu still had all of his energy within him.

And just like Delia, Twilight and the others were able to tell that something was off with Ash at first glance. Usually, when he shows up, he has a ton of boundless energy just showing. But now, that wasn't the case. And it wasn't like he was tired. Not at all. He got himself some great rest.

"Ash, darling. What's wrong?" Rarity asked.

"Ah. I'm feeling a bit out of it right now. Not sure what's up with me today." Ash adjusted his hat before sending all of his Pokemon out of their Poke Balls.

"Do you have a fever?" A similar question to what Delia asked. Now Fluttershy did the same.

"No. But...I don't have a clue really. I was fine yesterday when I finished having a Pokemon World Championship battle. But now?"

"You were facing off against a powerful trainer yesterday with your Lucario. Maybe you're still recovering after that." Applejack theorized.

"Maybe. But it feels like a ton of stuff is catching up to me for some reason." Ash held his neck.

"Hm." Twilight narrowed her eyes. "Catching up to you, eh?"

"Yeah. Can't really describe it though..." Ash crossed his arms. "Feels like my body won't listen to me for some reason."

"Hm. I'll be right back!" Twilight got an idea as she immediately teleported out of the Pokemon House and into her lab, appearing in front of Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer, scaring them both.

"Wagh!" The two unicorns screeched.

"Sorry! Just need to check on something quickly." The young alicorn quickly moved over to her bookshelf. "There's something wrong with Ash, and I need to find out what."

"Ash? What's wrong with him?" Sunset questioned.

"Not sure. He says he's feeling a bit out of it, something's catching up to him after all these years and his body's not responding properly." Twilight navigated through the assortment of books. "Something is certainly off."

"Maybe it's just growing pains?" Starlight uttered.

"Maybe. But with Ash, nothing's ever as normal or standard as it looks." Twilight eventually found the book she was looking for. Since Ash's main major source of power is Aura, Twilight grabbed the History of the Pokemon World book, searching for the page where Aura can be described.

She rapidly scrolled through the pages of the book before finding the Aura section in a short amount of time. This could be the answer.

"Aha! Aura! Just what I need. I'll be right back!" Twilight then teleported out of the lab with the book leaving Sunset and Starlight behind to wonder.

She returned to the Pokemon House with the book and page concerning Aura still open. She believed she had the solution to Ash's problem.

"So. What did you find?" Rarity asked.

"Well, I figured it could have something to do with Aura. Since Ash has a lot of it, on par with the legendary hero Sir Aaron, it would make sense that he would feel lasting effects with so much energy."

"Uh...sure." Applejack squinted her eyes, nodding in response.

"So, there's something wrong with Ash's aura?" Fluttershy looked at Ash while being held by Dragonite.

"Hm?" Ash looked at himself, wondering what his Aura was possibly doing to him.

"Mmmm...here!" Twilight pointed her hoof at a page that looked to be the answer to her question. "This says Delayed Aura Ataxia."

"Delayed Aura Ataxia?" They all said.

"Apparently, if high levels of Aura aren't properly managed, used in reckless ways or even heavily negated, a few days later, the user might suffer from this, making it difficult to control their Aura and body properly."

"Is that it? Well, Ash isn't reckless with is Aura." Fluttershy spoke.

"And nothing's negated him from what we know." Rarity chimed in.

"Although, managing Aura isn't something you usually do, is it, Ash?" Rarity asked him.

"I don't have a clue myself. I just know I have Aura and stuff."

"It may be more than that. It also says here that this issue can happen if the user has far too many forms of energy inside of them. For example, more than just Aura. Ash. Do you know anything about that?"

"Too many forms?" Ash pondered for a moment, thinking about what else than Aura does he have inside of him. Digging into his memories, Ash was able to recall a plethora of energy sources that he's experienced.

The Bond Phenomenon with Ash-Greninja.

Becoming King of the Sea with that golden aura around him.

Using Z-Moves, especially Pikachu's 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt.

The dark energy from Hoopa's prison bottle, temporarily corrupting Ash.

Gaining infinite energy from Victini.

Being affected by Rift energy and splitting into six personalities of himself.

Another form of corruption or more along the lines of possession via the King of Pokelantis.

Having shadow being possessed by Gengar.

His Psychic Link with Azelf.

Being exposed to Discord's chaos magic.

And of course, his Aura link with Lucario and so on.

"Oh, man! That's a lot!" Ash realized just how much energy is boiling in him. "So I still have all of that in me? I would've thought some of that stuff would've left by now."

"All of that is catching up to him? My, that must be horrible." Rarity's eyes widened. "Is there a way to solve this?"

"Well...I would say just take it easy but Ash always does that. When he's not battling of course." Twilight shrugged. "But you did battle yesterday so that must've just pushed it to its limits."

"Oh." Ash looked down.

"Pikapi..."

"Luckily, there's a solution. It says right here that it'll heal on its own after a while, just like how muscle pain does. But maybe I wouldn't recommend having a battle for a while or even being highly active."

"No battling, huh?" Ash looked up. "I can do that. But not being highly active? Mmrrgh...I don't know."

"Oh, you'll be fine, Ash." Rarity patted him on the back. "This is nothing for you, isn't it?"

"Yeah. Just gotta take things easy, huh?" Applejack nudged Ash. "Only for a like a while or so."

"Pikachu!"

"Yeah. I can take it." Ash nodded. "Even if it's for a while."

"Just spend some more quality time with everypony. Oh! I almost forgot!" Twilight flew up. "Shining Armor, Cadence and Flurry Heart's vacation at Alola today! We should join them, don't you think?"

"Alola? Oh yeah, Alola would be great for taking it easy." Ash realized.

"Alola sounds wonderful. I've been wanting to have a re-visit for a while now." Rarity put on a sunhat and some sunglasses.

"Sure does. Some of that Alolan food's pretty good too." Applejack nodded. "Right, Sceptile?"

"Sceptile!"

"Oh, I can't wait to see Lei again! He's just soooooo cute!" Fluttershy gushed. "Seeing Lei made me realize how adorable human babies are!"

"It'll be fun meeting Professor Kukui, Burnet and Lei again." Ash. "Even if it's for a day."

"Pikachu."

"Alola here we come!" Twilight was given some sunglasses from Rarity. From how much energy they had, they were going to have a blast. And of course, they would bring the rest of their friends to Alola as well.

But can the same be said for Ash?

Alola. Poni Beach. Day.

A beach on Poni Island with an abundance of nature. It's one of the many Mantine Surf Spots scattered across Alola. Since Summer was approaching for both worlds very soon, it would only make sense that the residents of Alola would come to the beach immediately.

Joining Ash and the Mane 6 were of course the Royal Family from the Crystal Empire, basking in the shining golden sun of Alola.

A one day vacation must not be wasted at all. And everyone knew this. That's why they were going to make the most out of their time in Alola.

Besides, summer is coming soon so they'll just come back here either way. It's a win-win situation in all honesty as everyone was having a blast at the beach.

With Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, they took part in the Mantine Surf Spots, surfing on the back Mantines while riding wild waves and screaming in joy.

Twilight and Rarity took the opportunity to bask in the sunlight by laying down on armchairs while umbrellas were over their heads. With the company of the royal family, Cadence had also joined Twilight and Rarity in some sunlight basking while Flurry Heart played with the Cutie Mark Crusaders, the Pokemon and alongside the guidance of Fluttershy.

But Fluttershy was a bit too distracted by the Alolan Pokemon here to really pay any attention to Flurry Heart. But thankfully, Audino was there to keep an eye on her. And if no one was partaking in something exciting and just chatting, that would be Shining Armor, Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer.

It felt like the whole gang was here. Well, most of them anyway. Spike was still training out there.

Ash on the other hand was sitting by himself on the ground with his arms crossed. Just earlier, Fluttershy had suggested that Lei and his family would join in on their little family vacation.

So, Ash was waiting for them as he had already called Kukui and Burnet about their visit to Alola. While his friends continue having fun, Ash was busy thinking about how he might not be able to battle for a while now.

Normally, this wouldn't be a problem for Ash. When he first came to the Alola Region years ago, the number of times he had battled had diminished as compared to Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos. He had learned to take things easy.

So, taking a break from battling won't be an issue for him thanks to his time in Alola. From start to finish. However, there was no telling how long it would take. Even when he was in Alola, Ash still did his fair share of battles that could be considered plentiful.

This is where Ash's true patience will be put to the test.

"Can't focus on battling, no matter what," Ash growled. "Don't wanna push myself too far. But maybe one battle wouldn't hurt. No, I gotta stay away. Even if it's for a week."

"Ash?" Fluttershy called out Ash's name.

"Hm?" Ash turned to face the pegasus. "Yeah, Fluttershy?"

"Are you still feeling that Aura problem?"

"Yeah, but it's something else. I'm just thinking of getting through all of this for who knows how long? A long time without battling is pretty new to me ya know. Even being super active."

"Oh. Well..." Fluttershy looked up. "Maybe if you just held back during your battles, you might not have that problem. Um, maybe."

"Holding back? Aw man, but I like battling at full strength though." Ash groaned. "I don't know about holding back..."

"Right." Fluttershy sat down next to Ash. "That's not your preference. But maybe there's a better alternative out there. It might just last a few days or a week. You're good at experiencing the little things in life too."

"Yeah." Ash scratched his hair. "But I can get through it for sure. No need to worry."

"When you say that, that's when I worry the most." Fluttershy chuckled. "Oh. Is Lei coming here soon?"

"He should be along with Professor Kukui and Burnet. I called them back home before we left. They're not too far away from Poni Beach."

"Hey, Ash!" Just then, the Cutie Mark Crusaders came rushing over to speak with Ash. "We're gonna try some of that Mantine Surfing with a race! Can you join us, please?"

"Mantine Surfing?!" Ash gasped as he was getting riled up. Especially when he heard the word race. Ash loves himself some competition, but he quickly sat back down. "Oh, sorry. I can't. I gotta conserve all my energy so I don't push myself.

"Awww, what?" The CMC sighed.

"Ash is having a bit of a problem right now. He has something known as Delayed Aura Axation. Ash needs some time to take things slowly. Sorry, girls." Fluttershy explained.

"When's it gonna go away?" Apple Bloom asked.

"Yeah when?" Both Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle questioned.

"Ah, I don't know," Ash replied. "I just gotta wait. But man, it'd be so cool to do some racing with Mantine Surfing!"

"Well, we can still race each other." Sweetie Belle looked at her friends. "So it's alright. Can we race with Pikachu and Lucario to make it up?"

"Hm? Sure. Though, Lucario might not be a big fan of it. But Pikachu sure is." Ash nodded.

"Great! Thanks, Ash!" The three little fillies dashed off to take part in some Mantine Surfing. All the while, Ash could only do less energetic activities.

"Well. I'll leave you be for now. I'm looking forward to Lei showing up. See you soon, Ash." Fluttershy flew off. Now it was Ash on his own while everyone else did their own thing.

Not the best start to the day for Ash. But he was a great optimist like Pinkie Pie. So he was determined to make sure that these remaining days are worth it even if he can't go wild like he usually does.

But, Ash hasn't let anything stop him fully before. He was stood up, ready to do whatever he can until this Aura problem dies out.

1 hour later.

As an hour passed, Kukui, Burnet and Lei had shown up after receiving Ash's call. They were just as excited to reunite with Ash once again, especially Lei.

"Ash!" Both Kukui and Burnet called out for Ash's name, grabbing the attention of Ash and the rest of his friends.

"Oh! Yes, they made it!" Ash ran over but he made sure to slow himself down instead of going at full force like he usually does. "Professor Kukui! Burnet! Lei!"

"We're right on time, aren't we?" Kukui said.

"Sure are. Glad you could make it." Ash grinned. "Hey, Lei. Long time no see."

"A-Ash," Lei said Ash's name. It certainly wasn't his first word ever. Ash went up to Lei as the baby patted the trainer in the face.

"A quick favour, Ash. Could you watch over Lei for us for a while?" Burnet requested. We want to really enjoy our time at the beach without endangering Lei.

"Sure. I can do that." Ash grabbed Lei. "Babysitting's a pretty calm thing to do isn't it?"

"Um...Sometimes." Kukui scratched his hair, knowing how frantic the role of a babysitter can get in some instances. If not, most instances. "How does leaving him with that baby over there sound? Wait, is that a pony baby?"

"Sure is." Ash turned to face Flurry Heart who was riding on Lucario's back, which Lucario wasn't too fond of. "That's Flurry Heart."

"Lu!" Lucario growled as he was running around, trying to get Flurry Heart off him. But she was glued to him unless she stuck herself onto someone else "Cario!"

"I thought pony babies couldn't become alicorns. Is that what they're called, right?" Burnet said.

"Well, Flurry Heart's an exception. I'll take good care of Lei. You all have a blast, okay?" Ash walked off with Lei in his hands.

"Alright. Now!" Kukui turned around, clapping his hands as he approached the water. "It was a total failure last week, but today, I'm feeling lucky about this catch."

"Again?" Burnet sighed as she followed her husband.

Ash went over to Flurry Heart who had Lucario down on the ground, face first even. The baby alicorn looked up at Ash, seeing a fellow baby within her sights.

"Aw, who's this little guy?" Cadence flew over.

"Lei's his name." Ash placed Lei down, patting him on the head. "Alright, Lei. We're only gonna really hang out for one day right now. So let's make the most of it okay? But not too much. Kinda at risk here."

Lei only babbled as a response to Ash. He then turned around to see that someone was hovering over him. That, someone, was Flurry Heart who had then flown in front of him, poking her fellow baby in the face.

"Ah?" Lei opened his mouth wide as he tried to eat Flurry Heart's hoof before it was pulled back.

"Oo." Flurry Heart gave her response continuously poking Lei in the face. But Lei didn't seem to be bothered by it. He just poked her back.

"Aw, look at them." Fluttershy gushed at the two babies playing. This is what Ash needed. This would work well in allowing him to recover without needing to overwork himself or be extremely active.

That is until the unexpected happened. Flurry Heart got a bit too playful with Lei. So playful that she ended up using magic. Her horn started glowing as she surrounded Lei and Ash in her magic aura since Ash was still making contact with Lei.

"Eh?" Ash quickly realized that he was now within Flurry Heart's magic shenanigans range. And shenanigans did in fact occur as Flurry Heart had used her magic to teleport Ash and Lei away from the spot they stood and sat on.

"AH!" Shining Armor, Cadence and Fluttershy gasped after witnessing the sudden disappearance of the three of them. Especially the babies. "Where'd they go?!"

Their answer was given immediately as Flurry Heart's teleportation spot had been found. And it had to be on the one area where the most energy was taking place.

The Mantine Surfing Spots.

But, one important thing that is well known to every resident of Alola is how the various Mantine Surfing Spots differentiate in intensity and wave size.

There are four courses in total. Normal Course, Super Course, Hyper Course and Master Course. And that one that is the Master Course is located in Poni Beach.

And unfortunately, the surfing spot is where Flurry Heart and the others had arrived as they each landed on a nearby Mantine who was just casually swimming until three individuals landed on its back.

"Mantine?" Mantine felt the sudden collision as it thought that these three individuals wanted to try out some Mantine Surfing.

In the course of Flurry Heart, Ash and Lei being on top of the Kite Pokemon with the proper equipment needed for Mantine Surfing, everything had suddenly escalated without warning as Mantine started to surf on the gigantic waves of Poni Beach.

"W-Woah...Woah!" Ash yelled as he kneeled on Mantine's back, trying to keep his balance while holding onto both Flurry Heart and Lei.

"Oh! You're really joining us, Ash!" Scootaloo exclaimed while Flurry Heart was giggling during the Mantine Surfing.

And surprisingly, Lei was enjoying this as well. There wasn't any crying but there certainly was screaming. Screams of joy that is. Although, the same can't be said for Cadence, Shining Armor and the others.

Mantine rode a large wave, tilting to the side. Ash didn't want to fall while holding two babies in his arms. This is where all that energy he was conserving would need to be maintained properly.

However, in a situation like this, it was impossible to do so. Not with how fast Mantine was moving. Knowing that he was in a bit of a risky situation without having the proper equipment for Mantine Surfing and protecting two babies and problems with his Aura, Ash knew there was only one thing to do.

"Sorry, Twilight. Everyone. But just this once!" Ash chose to exert his energy instead of holding it back. For the safety of others, of course.

Ash used one hand to tightly hold onto Mantine's antennae while using his other to hold both Lei and Flurry Heart. They were small enough for him to hold with one arm. Mantine's angle was changing once more as it was about to become airborne with how fast it was approaching the upper cress of the wave.

Cadence quickly flew over to try and receive her baby before anything horrible happens. Mantine ended up flying off the wave, becoming airborne with the two babies having the time of their life. Ash was somewhat having the time of his life too. Even in dire situations, he can always feel a rush of excitement.

And with him finally exerting energy, Ash's Aura was starting to show as it was emanating its natural blue colours like always.

"Ash! Don't!" Twilight screeched as she also flew over.

"Mantine!" Mantine's air time was still ongoing as it had already gotten ahead of the CMC, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie's Mantine's.

"Oh! Sweet moves, Ash!" Rainbow Dash gawked.

"Steady!" Ash said as his Aura was growing larger and becoming more visible. And it was more than just visible, it was gaining strength and coming more physical.

When in the air, Ash's Aura was affecting everyone and everything around him. Including the Mantine. They were all surrounded by this blue Aura.

Even Cadence, who was closing in on Ash and the others had been caught by this Aura. And it wasn't just there to be pretty and amazing. It was actually affecting them.

With Ash's adrenaline going up, the Mantine and Cadence were suddenly speeding up out of nowhere without their control. The Mantine were now surfing across the waves at lightning speeds while having a blue trail of Aura with them.

"Woah!" The Cutie Mark Crusaders, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie and Cadence started screaming after being sped up. The Mantine were unbothered by this though.

Cadence was unable to control her speed or flight with Aura making her move, causing her to fumble in the air. Not only that but the water itself was being manipulated by Ash's Aura, rising and splitting apart as the Mantine drifted on it.

Ash's Aura even dragged in a nearby Mantine as if it was some form of telekinesis. The Mantine that his Aura dragged over ended up catching Cadence who was falling through the air. Now Cadence was a part of the Mantine Surfing.

"Huh?" Cadence looked down at the Kite Pokemon who was also being accelerated like its brethren.

"Mantine!"

The finish line for the Mantine Racing was also being pulled into the air, changing its location while still being within everyone's sights. Despite the sudden boost in speed, the others were still having fun and determined to win the race.

"Oh. Hold on!" Cadence was actually feeling the same rush everyone was feeling. "Woohoo!" She raised her hooves in the air while Flurry Heart did the same. The babies were having fun, flailing around while Ash suddenly made a grin.

"This is nothing!" Ash declared as he was getting a better handle on Mantine while he was unconsciously manipulating everything with his aura which was still growing in size every second.

Soon, Ash's Aura grew to the point where it was able to affect the entire sea itself, raising it entirely as a large blanket of water could be seen following Ash.

"Oh my..." Kukui's jaw dropped after witnessing this bizarre sight.

"There it is!" Ash set his eyes on the finish line as he pointed upwards. Him pointing upwards caused his Aura to make everyone else fly upwards. Ash's Aura also illuminated the water, giving it a beautiful shine as his Mantine was the one to gain more speed since he was at the helm.

"Mantine!" Ash's Mantine moved at ludicrous speeds, passing everyone else. All the while, everyone at Poni Beach and even from other parts of Alola could see a large blanket of water covered in Aura in the sky.

Along with that, all the Pokemon dwelling in the sea could be seen gaining airtime because of how the sea just suddenly rose without warning. Now the Pokemon were covered in Aura.

It was a sight to behold.

But that would quickly come to an end as Ash's Mantine passed through the finish line, winning the race.

"Yes!" Ash pumped his fist into the air along with Lei while Flurry Heart cooed. With him claiming victory, all that wonderful airtime had come to an end.

The blanket of water was placed back down, making a fairly big splash while Mantine and its brethren all splashed back down with the Aura outline fading away. The Water-Type Pokemon fell from above, returning to the sea after having that small moment of adrenaline.

It was over.

"Aw! So close!" The CMC moaned.

"Woo!" Cadence cheered as her Mantine stopped surfing, stopping near the land. "What a rush!"

"Mama!" Flurry Heart flew over to Cadence after having that much fun, causing the older alicorn to hug the baby alicorn.

"Oh my goodness..." Twilight sighed as she fell on her back. She wasn't expecting any of that to happen.

"Oh well. He tried. Guess nothing keeps Ash still, huh?" Fluttershy giggled.

"Ash!" Lei sure had fun as he hugged Ash.

"That was a blast, wasn't it, Lei?" Ash asked.

"Blast!" Lei replied by learning the word blast as the Mantine came to shore. Everyone was getting off their Mantine after that race. They were a bit wet due to that sudden speed as they shook themselves like dogs to dry off.

"That was amazing!" Pinkie Pie bounced off, taking the goggles off.

"Right." Rainbow Dash rubbed her eyes. "I didn't know Aura could do that."

"Here I was heavily worried," Cadence spoke while Flurry Heart was on her back. "That was actually worth it. Seems like you know how to really pick fun activities, don't you, Flurry Heart?"

"Ah!" Flurry Heart replied by clapping her hooves.

"Ash!" Twilight teleported in front of Ash while he was holding Lei. "You weren't supposed to exert that much Aura! That's the most Aura I've seen you use!"

"Ah, my bad, my bad." Ash laughed while rubbing the back of his hair. "Things got pretty wild so I couldn't help it. Haha!"

"Ugh..." Twilight facehoofed. "Are you at least feeling anything now?"

"My head feels a bit tingly along with my arms. But I'll be fine." Ash gave a thumbs up.

"Fine!" Lei also gave a thumbs up.

"Don't stress too much, Princess," Kukui said as he and Burnet walked by. "You can count on Ash to make any situation better. Lei certainly knows that."

"Did you have fun, Lei?" Burnet asked.

"Ah!" Lei certainly did have fun.

"That's great!" Burnet clapped. "Knew we could count on you to make Lei have a fun time, Ash. Thank you."

"No problem. But man, it's gonna be tougher than I thought to keep it calm and laid-back, huh?" Ash chuckled, not making a big deal out of any of this.

"Can't get more frantic than this, can it?" Fluttershy flew over, giving Lei a head pat.

"Maybe. But we'll see. I can totally keep this up for a few days or more. Just you watch!"

"Wait, what's this about?" Shining Armor asked.

"Nevermind." Twilight shook her head. It wasn't worth stressing over at this point. If Ash is involved, there's no need to worry. Although, that's when she worries the most.

6 days later.

6 days had passed and Ash was feeling better than ever. He had gone days without taking part in any Pokemon Battles whatsoever. Even if there was something tempting in front of him.

"Got through it all no problem!" Ash was pumped. "Guess all those years really paid off, huh?"

"Pikachu!"

"Yay! Congrats on making it through, Ash!" Fluttershy clapped her hooves.

"Audino!"

"Chiko!"

"I thought it would've been way worse." Twilight looked at the book. "Guess the results aren't as harsh on different Aura wielders."

"Okay! Now that I feel greater than ever, whaddya say, Rainbow? Let's have a battle!"

"Yes please!" Rainbow Dash nodded and agreed immediately. She and Ash were ready to have a scuffle now that Ash was back in his high spirits once more.
