“I can’t believe that I won.”
After Luna had won her match, she and the rest had found a bench just be the stadium so Luna could catch her breath, she had almost collapse after her battle with Streak. Mightyena was nuzzling her leg trying to calm her down.
“I thought you fought a good battle but what happened to that boy’s Pokémon? Why did flames surround that Pokémon?” Celestia asked her sister.
“It’s a side effect of fire fang, it’s call burn. Some attacks has side effects, like fire attacks. Some electric attacks can paralysis, ice attacks can freeze and some poison attacks, it’s in the name.” Luna explained to them.
Twilight was amazed by what she heard. “I didn’t think that Pokémon could be so complex.” Luna couldn’t argue with that.
Then Luna notice that James was walking towards them, she got up and started to walk towards him. “You.” She was not happy. “Why didn’t you tell me that you were lighting the torch?” She told him a frustrated tone.
James put up both his hands. “First off, calm down and second, they didn’t tell me on the phone what they wanted, they told me when I arrived. Don’t worry, I saw your battle on a tv.” Luna was glad that he saw her battle, but she was still a little angry that he was not there. “Anyway, we should head over to the Pokémon center, they are about to announce the first round in the double battle.” They all headed to the center.
Once there they saw some of the trainers had managed to qualified and then they heard a voice that Luna and James didn’t want to hear. “Well, well.” Walking towards them was Sunset and she smudged smile on her face. “I thought that you had lost your first match,” She stop not far from them and crossed her arms. “I guess I was wrong.” That was direct at Luna.
“What do you want Sunset?” Luna asked in an annoying tone.
“Nothing much, I just want to remined you that I am going to win it all.” She said while raining her head high, Luna couldn’t help but roll her eyes of that big ego Sunset had.
Then Twilight had to open her mouth. “What wrong with you Sunset?”
Sunset look at Twilight with confusion. “Do I know you? Considering you know my name.”
Twilight was about to answer when Luna walk over to her and placed a hand over her mouth to silence her. “You don’t know her, she only know you because I mention you a few times, nothing more.” Luna really hope that she bought it.
Sunset just started at them before she decided to head off. “Whatever, just be ready to lose when me meet in the tournament.” Then she was gone.
Once she was gone Luna removed her hand from Twilight’s mouth. “What the hell is wrong with you Twilight? You can’t just go up to Sunset and talk to her like that, she is not the Sunset you know.” She said with some anger in her voice.
“I’m sorry, I forgot.” She said with shame in her voice.
“You forgot? What were you trying to do? Expose her to friendship?” Twilight just nodded which made Luna slap a hand on her face. “That is not going to work here, the human world is different than Equestria so I appreciate that you just keep your mouth shut.” Luna just huffed and walk away from her.
Twilight look over to her form mentor who just gave her a disappointing look. “Don’t look at me, I agree with my sister on this one.” Twilight decided not to say anything.
Then they heard nurse Joy over the speakers. “it’s my privilege to announce this year paring for the Hoenn champions qualified round. First off, 256 trainer won the preliminaries rounds, out of these trainers the qualified round will only produce 32 winners who will move on to the victory tournant, three wins are required to pass the qualifying round and all battle will be double battle.”
Then Fluttershy spoke up. “What does she mean by double battles?”
“It’s means Luna and the others have to battle with two Pokémon each, not one.” James explained.
That made Applejack whistle. “Wow, that sounds hard."
James nodded in agreement. “Believe me, it is.”
Dash just snorted. “I bet I could beat them with ease.” Her friends just gave her a disappointing while James couldn’t help but question her ego.
Then Joy continued. “And now, I present the parring.”
Then up on the big screen the first round of the qualifying appeared. Luna managed to find herself pretty fast. “It like my battle is tomorrow morning in stadium A and my opponent is a girl named Opal Akaru.” They all look at the picture and it was a girl with long black hair.
Then Luna decided to look for the other but for she could, the door open and Ace, Lumi and Shadow walk inn, Shadow’s Charizard was right behind them. “I can’t believe we missed the announcement, nice work Ace.”
Ace placed a hand on his chest. “Why are you blaming me? You are the one who want to have something to eat.”
Lumi pointed at finger at him. “There’s nothing wrong with being hungry.”
Shadow decided to stop them before it got worse. “Would you two stop, we didn’t miss the parring.” He told them while pointing at the giant tv. “Also, save your energy for the battles ahead, you both will need it.”
Luna and the others decided not to get involved their conversation, considering Ace and Lumi started to shout at each other again.
“I guess they managed to win.” Said Luna as the they exit the Pokémon center.
“It looks like it.” Said James.
“Just who were those three Luna?” Celestia asked her sister.
“Their name is Lumi Koude, Arctic Ace and Shadow Moonrise, I meet them on my journey which I have mentions before.” Celestia felt a little stupide right now, Luna had mention them before. “James, is possible I can have some time with my sister today?”
“Sure, I don’t mind and beside,” He walk over to Dash. “I wouldn’t mind having a battle with Skittles, since she said she could beat them all.”
Dash couldn’t help but question what he said. “How am I going to do that? I don’t have any Pokémon.”
James just smiled. “Don’t worry about that, I can help you with that. What do you say? Do you think you can beat me.”
Dash just smiled herself. “Oh, you’re on.”
Applejack couldn’t help but shook her head. “This is not going to end well.” The girls agreed with her on that.
The girls headed to the beach while James headed back to the center so he could switch some of his Pokémon, he was not going to use those he had with him.
Once Luna and Celestia was alone. “Do you think James is going be okay with Dash and the others?”
“I think he can handle them, I’m more worried about Rainbow Dash ego when she loses to James.” Then Luna took her sister hand. “Now come on, we are going to town and I’m going to treat you to something to eat.” Luna told her sister as she started to drag her with her and Celestia wonder when her sister became so strong that she managed to drag her with her.
Once they arrived at a restaurant called the Square Demon, the sister didn’t like the name, but the menu look good.
They were currently sitting by a table outside the restaurant. “What kind of owner name their restaurant Square Demon? It’s just freaky.” Said Celestia while looking at the sign.
Luna, who was looking at the menu just shrugged her shoulders. “Who knows, at least the menu look’s good.”
Celestia look at the menu. “You have a point there.”
Then a waiter approached them. “Hello, have you two decided what you want to order?” He asked them a happy voice.
Luna was first. “Yes, I think I will have your steak with mashed potatoes.” Celestia almost got a heart attack when she heard that, her sister eats meat?
The waiter wrote it down in his notebook. “Excellence choice,” He look at Celestia. “what about ma’am?” He asked her.
Celestia managed to get over the shock. “Yyyyes, I will just have the salat.” She said while putting down her menu.
The waiter wrote more down. “Alright, I will right back with your food.” Then waiter bounced back to the restaurant which Luna thought was very familiar, considering he a pink hair that look like cotton candy.
Once he was gone Celestia bent over the table and grabbed her sister shoulders. “When did you start to eat meat?” She said in a shocked voice.
Luna managed to push her sister away. “About two months ago and stop overreacting, it’s not that big a deal.”
“Not that big a deal? You have never eaten meat in your entire life, why now?” Celestia asked her sister.
Luna pointed at herself. “Because the human body needs protein and I can’t get that by eating flowers and hay, if I don’t get protein I can get sick.” Celestia didn’t like it but she didn’t want her sister to get sick, she just had to accept it. “Also, it’s not bad.” Celestia felt like throwing up right now.
It didn’t take long before the waiter came back with their food, he managed to balance their food with ease on his hands. “Here you go.” He placed them their food on the table. “I hope you both enjoy and just call me if you need something ells.” He told before he bounced away again and right then, Luna knew who he reminded her of.
Then Celestia decided to ask her sister something. “So, Luna. Have you meet any off our human counterpart?” She then took a bit off her salat, it wasn’t bad.
Luna was taken off by that question, she shook her head before answering. ”Yeah, I first met Spike’s and then I meet your twin, I passed out when I saw her, she almost gave me a heart attack in the progress.” She answered her sister while taking a bite of steak.
For some strange reason, Celestia felt bad when she heard that. “I’m sorry.” She said while looking down on the table. Luna was now very confused, she had no idea why her sister apologizes. “If I have treated you better none of this would have happen.”
Luna didn’t fell bad for sister, she thought that she was overacting a little. “Tia, look at me.” Celestia look up at her. “Would you stop blaming yourself, I’m not mad at you anymore, what is done is done. Let’s put what happened in the past in the past and let’s look towards the future.”
Celestia couldn’t help but chuckle of what her sister said. “And here I thought I was the wise one.”
Luna went back to her food. “I have my moments.”
Celestia also went back to her food. “That you have.” She took a pit of her salat. “Have you meet other than me and Spike?”
Luna took s sip from her glass. “Yeah, I have seen Rarity and around two weeks ago I raced against Applejack counterpart, at least I think it was her.”
“What kind of race was it?” Celestia asked her.
“A race where you have to use a Rapidash.”
Celestia had to think for a moment. “Rapidash, that’s the horse that’s on fire, right?” Luna nodded. “But, you don’t have Rapidash, do you?”
Luna shook her head. “No, I had to borrow one from James, he has two.” Celestia just nodded.
“Anyone ells?”
Luna look at her sister with a raised eyebrow. “You didn’t notice?” Celestia was clueless right now. “Didn’t you see that waiter look like Pinkie?”
Celestia look at the restaurant, she didn’t see him. “Really?” Luna nodded. “Huh, I guess I missed that.” Luna just rolled her eyes.
The rest of the time they mostly talk about Luna’s time in Hoenn, Celestia couldn’t be more proud of what her sister had accomplish but she wasn’t to happy that she had almost die a dew times, but she was glad that Luna didn’t give up. After they was done eating they decided to head back to the beach, Luna wanted to find out who won between James and Dash. She knew who the winner was, but she had to see it.
Once they arrived they could see Twilight and the rest for her friends trying to calm down Dash considering she was yelling how she got a weak Pokémon. James was currently standing where the ocean meet the beach, he was holding a Pokémon that look like a cocoon in his arms and a tiny bird was on his head. Luna took out her dex to see what kind of Pokémon they were, she pointed at the cocoon first.
Silcoon the cocoon Pokémon and the evolved form of Wurmple. Silcoon tethers itself to a tree branch using silk to keep from falling. There, this Pokémon hangs quietly while it awaits evolution. It peers out of the silk cocoon through a small hole.
Luna remember Wurmple, she battle against a train who used the bug Pokémon in Petalburg woods, then the bird.
Spearow the tiny bird Pokémon. Spearow has a very loud cry that can be heard over half a mile away. If its high, keening cry is heard echoing all around, it is a sign that they are warning each other of danger.
Luna couldn’t help but think that she had seen a Spearow before but where.
Celestia who was standing behind Luna was just amazed by her Pokédex. “I can’t believe that such a little device can contain so much information.” Luna could only agree. “Why don’t you go and talk with James while I find out what’s wrong with Rainbow Dash.” Luna agreed with that.
Luna walk over to her boyfriend who was just watching Twilight and the other who was still trying to calm down Dash. “What happened?” She asked James.
“Well, before we left I decided to change some of my Pokémon for out battle, I even gave myself a handicap because I was battling a novice, I used my Wurmple while Skittle used my Spearow.”
“So, she lost when you gave yourself a handicap?” James nodded. “Did you explain how to battle?”
“Yes, I said what kind of moves Spearow use but she did so many mistake, I think she was to arrogant to think straight, that’s what I think. After she had lost she started to yell at me and then she accuse me for given her a weak Pokémon, they are equally strong. I didn’t like to beat her, the only positive is that Wurmple evolved.” James told her.
“I will not calm down Celestia,” Luna and James look over to the group. “it wasn’t a fear battle, he gave me a weak Pokémon.”
That made James groan on frustration. “For the last time Skittles, they are equally strong. I should be tanking you for evolving my Wurmple to Silcoon, why can’t you be happy by that?”
Dash wasn’t happy. “You gave me a weak Pokémon.” She said while pointing at him.
That was the last straw for James. “That’s it, go and get her Spearow.” The tiny bird Pokémon flew of James head and flew towards Dash, then Spearow started to peak on her head making her run around the area. Her friends couldn’t help but laugh of what they saw, even Celestia couldn’t contain her laughter.
This day was probably one of Luna best, she had won the preliminaries, she and her sister had a find lunch and now she was watching Dash get chased by a Spearow. Right now, life was good.
