Hi there! Here’s the logic. 

#1: De-age/ age when converted. 

Let’s say Scootaloo and Frost Flare were 9 before. And the nymphs’ bodies they’re in are newborns. So, they deage. If the nymphs were older than the original pony, then they would be the same age as the nymph. Rainbow Dash, during conversion was 8 years old (pure fanon). So was the nymph. So RD remained the same age. 

#2: Royal Changelings (queens and kings) 

The nymph whose body RD is in is a royal nymph. So is Soarin’s case. Royals stay in their eggs 1 year and need the queen by their side for that long. No more than three hooves (feet) away. *thunder near my house* You might think that one of the three older ones are royal, but you’re wrong. Royals need both parents, who are royals unlike regular ones who’ll do fine with just their mother.
