Chapter 20

Canterlot Castle... Canterlot... Equestria... August 15th... 7:50 PM...

Twilight and Moonlight walked over towards where Princess Celestia was going to be at the Grand Galloping Gala. But what they weren't expecting was a long line.

"Oh, boy," Twilight said. "This might take a while."

Moonlight sighed, then a couple guards walked up to the two of them. One of them said, "Twilight Sparkle. Moonlight. Princess Celestia has requested for the two of you for company." The guard than looked down at Moonlight. "And for your protection."

Twilight and Moonlight looked at each other. Twilight then smiled, and then they walked with the guards to the front of the line, where there stood Princess Celestia.

"Princess Celestia!" Twilight said, walking towards the princess with Moonlight by her side.

"Twilight! It is so lovely to see my star student," Princess Celestia said to Twilight. She then looked down at Moonlight. "It is also good to see you, Moonlight." Moonlight smiled.

"Good to see you, too, Princess," Moonlight said.

"Oh, I'm so excited to be here!" Twilight said. "We have so much to catch up on."

"Well, I want you right by my side the entire evening, so we'll have plenty of time together," Princess Celestia said.

"That's just what I was hoping you'd say," Twilight said. Twilight then started talking about all the things they did. Moonlight looked all over the room. She saw Rarity walking up to a handsome, broad, white unicorn stallion. From outside, she could see both Fluttershy, looking at the animals in the gardens, and Applejack selling some Apple Family sweets. She then looked over and saw Rainbow Dash trying to find somepony, and Pinkie Pie trying to find something fun to do.

Moonlight sighed and said, "This... is so... boring." She then felt the urge. She then asked, "Where's the restroom?"

Princess Celestia looked down at Moonlight, then pointed a hoof down the hall, saying, "Down the hall. The fillies room is the third door on the right."

Moonlight nodded, and rushed down the hall. She then breathed out and thought to herself, "Okay. First time in a public girls bathroom. This is something you have to get used to." She then walked in, and saw a bunch of lavender bouquets. The smell of the lavender made Moonlight smile. She then walked into one unoccupied stall, and used her magic to move her tail and the end of a dress so she wouldn't be sitting on it, getting some urine on the dress. She then relieved herself, sighing.

"First time in a public fillies washroom?" a familiar voice came to Moonlight's attention. Moonlight looked towards her right, which was where the voice was coming from.

"Wh-what makes you say that?" Moonlight asked.

"Thou are predictable, young one," the voice replied. "Must've been nervous before entering, Moonlight."

Moonlight's eyes shrank a little and asked, "How... how did you know my name?"

"We've made sure that you had peaceful dreams," the voice replied. "Dreams you could enjoy. But, we've forgotten that one night when thou started having the... wicked dreams of the mare who some ponies see you as."

"What? How did you...?" Moonlight was about to ask, then her eyes went wide. She then looked back to the right and guessed who was in the other stall. "P-princess Luna?"

Just then, four dark blue hooves with silver slippers stepped down onto the floor. Then the toilet in her stall flushed. Moonlight then finished her business, flushed the toilet, and walked out of the stall, at the same time the mare walked out, confirming that it was Princess Luna.

"We were hoping to speak to you tonight," Princess Luna said. "Thou must be cautious tonight. Somepony here is wanting to do harm to thou for the crimes that we have done."

"We? What are you...?" Moonlight was about to ask. She then stopped to think about it and asked, "You were using the royal 'we', weren't you?"

Princess Luna nodded and said, "Tis tradition back from 1000 years ago to talk like this."

"Well..." Moonlight said. "Maybe you should talk like a modern person... er... pony." She then sighed. "Two months, and I'm still not used to the way these ponies talk."

"Perhaps... I should," Princess Luna said, trying to modernize her speech. She then got a thought in her head, then smirked, and said, "You better watch your back, girlfriend. Or else, trouble will be, totes, coming."

Moonlight raised an eyebrow, then asked, "Why are you talking like that? You almost sound like..." She then found out what Princess Luna was doing, then Moonlight face-hoofed. She then groaned and said, "You got that from my memories which were from the TV shows I watched back on Earth."

Princess Luna smirked and said, "Thought it would cheer you up."

Moonlight then started snickering, which then went to a laugh of joy. She then said, "Well, it did." She then stopped laughing and calmed down. She then asked, "So, that thing about trouble coming? For real?"

Princess Luna nodded and said, "Be on your guard. And stick close to your mother."

Moonlight nodded. She then headed for the sink, removed her hooves from the horse shoes, and then washed her hooves. She then wondered out loud, "What's the point of washing our hooves if we walk on them?"

Princess Luna raised an eyebrow to think about that, then replied, "My sister and I have been wondering that for over 1000 years. Still unanswered." Moonlight then nodded, then she headed out of the bathroom, heading back towards where Twilight and Princess Celestia were.

Twilight looked back and saw Moonlight coming towards them. She smiled and said, "Hey, Moonlight. Feel better?"

"Yeah," said Moonlight. "Although, I did have a conversation with Princess Luna."

"My sister was in the restroom with you?" Princess Celestia asked.

"Yeah," Moonlight said. "She gave me a warning. She thought she heard somepony say that somepony is going to get me and punish me for something Princess Luna did as... you know..."

"Nightmare Moon," Princess Celestia said, understanding where Moonlight was getting at. "Do not worry. With guards all over the place, no harm will come to you. But just in case, stay close to us."

Moonlight nodded, getting nervous. She then remembered the way Princess Luna spoke to cheer her up, which made her giggle, covering her mouth with a hoof.

"What's so funny?" Twilight asked, looking down at Moonlight.

"Oh, just something that Princess Luna said to cheer me up," Moonlight said. "It wasn't what she said, but how she said it. She talked like someone from my world."

"My sister was always one to make ponies feel better when they're down," Princess Celestia said. "And yet, she was corrupted and turned into Nightmare Moon. But, I'm glad she's trying to cheer you up."

Moonlight nodded. Then she looked around, looking for ponies who would want to hurt her. When she looked over and saw Rarity with that stallion, she smiled, her worries fading away. But, for a split second, she saw the stallion give a grimace towards her. Moonlight then blinked twice, seeing that the stallion was making Rarity open the door for him. The stallion then walked away, humphing.

"What?" Moonlight whispered.

"What is it, Moonlight?" Twilight asked.

"I saw that Rarity was with a stallion," Moonlight said. "For a second, I thought he gave me a glare. Then I saw him make Rarity open the door for him."

Princess Celestia looked over and saw the stallion that Moonlight was talking about. She then gave a sour look and said, "That is my distant nephew, Prince Blueblood. He believes he gets whatever he wants, and doesn't want to get his hooves dirty unless he's up to something."

Twilight then thought about what Moonlight said about what Princess Luna said. She then asked, "Was he... alright with Moonlight being in Equestria?"

Princess Celestia thought about it and said, "Well, he thought that I was crazy letting Moonlight walk across Equestrian soil. Which makes him..."

"A very possible suspect," Twilight said. "Moonlight, please be careful. Especially around him."

Moonlight nodded. She then got nervous, hoping that nopony attacks her.
