//------------------------------// // 3 - Questions // Story: The Fallen Angel // by Dragon-In-Black //------------------------------// Spike was walking through the halls of Canterlot Castle and hated the feeling that radiated of from Princess Celestia. It reminded him of Faust, and he was really considering simply killing her because of it. As tempting as that was, it was not her fault. She was the light that the ponies and some other creatures needed and he would be in the wrong if he killed her. Even though, he has wanted to do it for some time. She keeps doing the same mistake over and over again. Throwing her enemies into Tartarus thinking that they will be reformed that way. “Pure idiocy. . .” Spike said, out loud not looking at the royal guards who looked at him confusedly. The halls he was walking down had many windows and he occasionally looked up at the sky to see if his real mother was watching him. He knew that she was, but he didn’t want to admit that it was comforting. He was supposed to hate Faust, and he does, but it is not as strong as he had expected and to some extent, hoped. He does want to start another rebellion but the will power is not as strong, it is as if something in Equestria was reforming him. Ha! Implausible! The only one he ever spends time with fully was Princess Luna who needed help with learning the speech that the modern ponies and creatures use. Spike on the other hand had a thing of falling into the old dialect without realizing it. Princess Celestia had thought him the old speech and even told him about his ‘aunt’ while the others had no clue at all. Spike had also had visions about her return and was not frightened the slightest when she returned. Not because of the visions, but because she was way weaker than him in comparison. “I do wonder what is going on in Heaven. . .” Spike said, with a sense of anger. He was so caught up in his own sulking that he forgot to check his surroundings without being obvious. Princess Luna was spying on him and was making sure that he didn’t blow in anger at somepony or creature except if they were snobbish. She wouldn’t allow him to kill them but allow him to really hurt them physically and mentally. Hopefully, the snobbish ponies would then understand that not every creature will bow before them. She was a little surprised about his grunting and he looked out the windows. She wondered what he was truly thinking about but she wouldn’t dare use Legimency on him. He was in every sense of the word: powerful. She had a feeling that she would regret it if she tried and she’d rather not ruin her relation with Spike with her curiosity. Some secrets were better left unanswered and she knew that Spike had answers that could devastate her. She knew so just by looking at him, the way he walked, looked, and acted. It showed that he was the one in control of everything. She had noticed that a lot of snobbish ponies had been very intimidated by his lack of care and showed that he was not arrogant because he knew that he was more powerful than some mere ponies who had a lot of money. Spike had been put in a situation a few days ago where he had to fight some of the nobles with their literal hooves. Spike had smiled evilly, and before they knew it, they were clutching their sides and had been kicked in the face several times until they started bleeding. Everypony had seen how the royal guards had not done anything because. . . well, they had no idea why they did not intervene it was as if he was some creature important. Spike reached the room he wanted to be in and opened it. Inside, was several expensive-looking pieces of furniture that had gold tints on them. There were portraits of different heroic creatures that helped Equestria through the ages. Spike didn’t pay attention to any of it as he had no interest in saving the idiotic land. The Magic Of Love, Friendship, Sun, Moon, and Harmony? None of it was real. Or well, for him it wasn’t real. To him, it was just some cheap excuse some creature made up and then it just got stuck in the ponies’ head. He walked towards a balcony that revealed the whole land of Equestria and the moon. Spike looked up and felt a sense of sadness and anger. Luna looked at him with sorrow and decided that she would try to comfort him. Spike wasn’t aware of her presence. He was too stuck in his own grief trying to comprehend what had happened. “It was always something wrong that happened to me. What is it that I have done to deserve to be in this land?” Spike said, out loud thinking that it might ease his sorrow a little, but it only brought more questions to him. He was in a land where the creatures very easily forgive each other, but if you are a different creature, then that is a whole other matter. He wondered why he received this punishment. Maybe Faust wanted him to unite the creatures? He then smiled sadly, but it had an evil twist to it. He would do the complete opposite, making his creator hate him! That is what he will do. . . He suddenly felt a force wrap around him. It was fur and two large hooves around his chest. He felt a pony’s snout on his back that made him question what the pony was trying to accomplish. Spike then asked the one question he already had the answer to. “Who is there?” Spike heard a sad giggle and the hooves went away from his chest, making him able to turn around and see that it was his aunt that stood there with a sad smile on her face. Spike felt bad for asking a quite obvious question. His fake mother was too busy listening to snobbish idiots that have higher demands than a demon. “It is me, dear nephew,” Luna said, in a friendly voice. Spike nodded a little bit and smiled warmly at her. Luna returned it because she knew it was a real smile. She couldn’t help but feel the warmth radiating off from him and it made her feel safe and want to be closer to him. She walked towards him and hugged him, much to his surprise. Luna felt how he stiffened, but then he relaxed and returned the hug. He felt happy that he was close to somepony that cared about him. Well, if other ponies cared about him, then he was not paying attention to them. Luna felt like she had won when she felt him relax from her embrace and hug back. She did not want to let go, but she knew that she had to at one point. Spike was thinking the same thoughts as he did not want to let go of his dear aunt, but he did not exactly have a choice, to begin with. He and she had the stuff to get done. He had the training to do and auntie Luna had her royal night duties to attend to. She had night court and that was quite important, although, he had noticed that she had completely stopped listening to the nobles. Everypony, especially the nobles, knew of Princess Luna’s dislike of them and did not listen to them unless if it was somepony like Fancy Pants and Fleur De Lis. Those type of ponies were the one’s she tolerated as she had a deep respect for them. They would not whine about something like to high tax rate, other creatures in Canterlot, or other stupidity like that. Finally, they let go and they looked at each other. Spike had an unreadable expression on her face while Luna had a secret look of desire, one that Spike strangely was not aware of. They smiled and looked in unison at the moon and saw the light emitting from it with the help of the sun. Spike felt a sense of peace within his heart. It was as if when he was with Luna, he could be himself and not worry about his problems. It was a lovely feeling. Luna was feeling the same thing, but there was one thing that she wanted an answer to from Spike, and she hoped that she received a truthful answer. “Spike, where do you go during the night? I don’t see the door to your dream, and even then, I am not able to enter the dream at all.” Luna explained as she turned towards Spike who was still looking at the moon. He knew that it was an inevitable question, but he loved the moments where he did not have to answer these questions. Spike looked away from the moon and shifted his gaze towards Luna who was looking at him with a gentle gaze. Spike took in a deep breath and decided to tell the truth. “I train during the night. I don’t need sleep at all. In fact, rest is something dragons don’t need, the dragons that do it have become too soft. It has come into their lazy blood, I don’t even believe that Dragonlord Ember is aware of this weakness, to begin with. Although, we don’t write down our habits, and if we have, it has been written in ancient draconic, to begin with.” Spike said, making Luna look at him with fascinated eyes. No need to sleep or rest? She wondered where Spike had been able to learn this ability. Ponies need their sleep, to begin with, and If they don’t their body will eventually collapse from exhaustion and will sleep until the body has enough to be able to do the common things a pony needs. Spike looked at the moon again and did not see the look of understanding on Luna’s face. She had a feeling that if he was truly an angel that has fallen, then he does not need any sleep or rest as it is their duty to watch over all the creatures that Faust has created. “That is impressive, Spike.” Luna said, as she saw the light bluh on Spike’s face making her giggle inwardly. Spike felt a little sheepish that he got such a praise from Luna, but he knew she meant well. “Say Spike, would it be okay if i joined you? When you train i mean, i doesn’t have to be tonight.” Spike looked at her with a little bit of shock. She sounded like it was something she desired. She could not help but fear that she might get rejected after what she requested but that was only for a few moments before she felt Spike hug her and felt his warmth. “Yes auntie woona, you can come tonight unless if your busy.” Spike said, the name he said when he was small to make her her giggle a little bit. Spike could not help but smirk in victory when she felt her blush against his scales as she was feeling another type of feeling that one should not feel for their nephew. He loved being a fallen angel. It meant that he could do some things, that normal angels would never do in fear of being cast out by Faust. He shook his head as he was reminded of his failures. “Well then dear, nephew,” Luna said, as she was still blushing but tried to sound normal. “Where to?” Spike grinned as he decided to use his dragon wings and flew together with his Equestrian aunt towards the Everfree Forest. He was thinking deep about what he wanted to show her, and see how she would react to his violent tendencies. He was looking forward to it. Spike was unaware that Faust was looking directly into his eyes as the white globe smiled as Faust saw her creations having clear affection for each other but decides to ignore it. She would have the Princess Of Love come visit them and she knew that the Princess would be able to tell them the truth. That they love each other more than a aunt and nephew.
