The girls all arrived in Pallet Town and stopped by Professor Oak’s Lab as per his request. As soon as Turquoise set foot in the habitat all of her Pokemon ran to her and showed their affection for her.
“ It’s good to see you guys too,” Turquoise said while trying to breathe.
“ Glad you girls could arrive,” Professor Oak said.
“ Figured we would come with Turquoise before going back to Equestria,” Rarity said.
“ And speaking of which, why did you want to see us?” Turquoise asked.
“ I wanted to see your Pokedex and the progress you made,” Professor Oak said. Turquoise gave Professor Oak her Pokedex which he placed on a tray that went inside his computer. After a few seconds, the data Turquoise collected impressed him. “ You have caught and registered 30 species of pokemon and seen over a hundred species not bad for your first journey.
“ Thanks,” Turquoise said.
“ But you only scratched the surface, there are still many places to see and pokemon to discover,” Professor Oak said. As they were talking Turquoise’s mom came in.
“ Sorry for the intrusion but Turquoise has a challenge from the Elite Four to go to,” Turquoise’s mom said.
“ Almost forgot about that. Turquoise did you decide who you're going to be using?” Professor Oak asked.
“ Not yet since I still don’t know much about them besides Bruno who is a master of fighting types.
“ Well your first opponent is going to be Prima who is a specialist in Water and Ice-types,” Professor Oak said.
“ In that case, I know who I will be using,” Turquoise said.
Sometime later the girls arrived at the stadium in Viridian City for the challenge match. As soon as Turquoise entered A busty woman with violet hair styled in pigtails and a ponytail wearing glasses, a red top, a blue jacket, and a black pencil skirt with matching heels stood ready to battle.
“ You must be Turquoise,” The woman said.
“ And I'm guessing you're Prima,” Turquoise said.
“ I am and I must say you were impressive during the Indigo League but let's see how you do here,” Prima said as the ref took his position.
“ The battle between Prima of the Elite Four and Turquoise the challenger will now begin. Each side will use Five Pokemon and the match will end when all five of one side’s pokemon are unable to battle, Furthermore both sides will be allowed to substitute pokemon,” The Ref said before both sides called out their first Pokemon.
“ Dewgong I chose you,” Prima said as a white seal-like creature appeared and clapped its flippers. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for more info.
“ Dewgong. The Sea Lion Pokemon. Its entire body is a snowy white. Unharmed by even intense cold, it swims powerfully in icy waters,” The Pokedex said. Suddenly the floor opened up revealing a pool that Dewgong fell into while still looking determined to win. Turquoise had to think carefully now that she barely had any land to stand on.
“ Go Corviknight,” Turquoise said as she called out Corviknight, which impressed Prima with how well Turquoise adapted to the situation. Corviknight use Steel Wing. Corviknight charged in with wings made of steel which did not faze Prima.
“ Dive underwater Dewgong and use Water Pulse. Dewgong dived underwater which allowed him to dodge Steel Wing and fired a ball made of water from beneath the water which nailed Corviknight and confused him. Corviknight was having a hard time flying in a straight line and later crashed into the water right where Prima wanted him to be. “ Now use Aqua Jet. Dewgong attacked from below while covered in water before changing course and attacking from above this time which sent Corviknight crashing into a platform and faint.
“ Corviknight is unable to battle. Dewgong is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his left flag at Prima.
“ Return Corviknight,” Turquoise said while recalling Corviknight. Turquoise thought hard on who to send out next and decided. “ Go Ninetails. Ninetails landed on one of the platforms that were in the pool.
“ You challenge my Dewgong with a Fire-type very interesting,” Prima said as Ninetails Drought ability kicked in covering the field in sunny Day status.
“ Ninetails use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her Flamethrower which did not faze Prima at all.
“ Dewgong go underwater. Dewgong was about to dive until Turquoise reacted.
“ You're not going anywhere. Ninetails use Extrasensory. Ninetails eyes turned blue as her tails stiffened and lifted Dewgong right into the path of the flamethrower which barely dealt any damage.
“ Nice try but my Dewgong’s Thick Fat ability reduces the damage from Fire-Type Moves by 50% plus being a water-type gives Dewgong some more resistance but enough about that it’s our turn to attack. Dewgong use Aqua Jet. Dewgong unleashed its Aqua Jet which managed to knock Ninetails into the water where she was struggling to swim.
“ Ninetails return,” Turquoise said as she recalled Ninetails which showed Prima her love and care for her Pokemon. Turquoise needed a way to change the environment to her advantage but knew she couldn't because she had no Ice-Type moves and then had the idea to use Prima’s own moves instead. “ Go Flygon. Flygon flew out which threw everyone for a loop.
“ Why would she send out Flygon? Dragon and Ground-types are super weak to Ice-type Moves,” Twilight asked in shock.
“ Let’s just watch and see what she does,” Rainbow said.
“ Flygon use Dragon Rush. Flygon charged at Dewgong while covered in dragon-shaped energy.
“ Dewgong use Ice Beam. Dewgong leaped into the air and fired an Ice Beam which Turquoise was waiting for.
“ Dodge to the right. Flygon turned right which caused the Ice Beam to hit the pool and freeze it over giving Dewgong nowhere to hide as it took the full force of dragon rush and faint.
“ Dewgong is unable to battle Flygon is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.
“ Return Dewgong,” Prima said as she recalled Dewgong. Prima was impressed with how Turquoise changed the battlefield to her advantage and pulled out her next pokemon. “ Slowbro I chose you. Slowbro came out and looked confused.
“ Flygon use Earthquake. Flygon was about to shake the battlefield until Prima reacted.
“ Slowbro use Psychic. Slowbro caught Flygon in his psychic field and then slammed Flygon against the ice thus creating a hole where Flygon resurfaced and fainted.
“ Flygon is unable to battle Slowbro is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his left flag at Prima.
“ Flygon return,” Turquoise said as she recalled Flygon. Turquoise began thinking and had another idea. “ Go Zoroark. As soon as Zoroark came out Prima pulled out Slowbro's Pokeball.
“ Return Slowbro,” Prima said as she recalled Slowbro knowing that it did not stand a chance. Prima did not hesitate in who to send out next. “ Lapras I chose you. A big blue creature with a coral-like shell came out and slid on the ice. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for more info.
“ Lapras. The Transport Pokemon. A smart and kindhearted Pokémon, it glides across the surface of the sea while its beautiful song echoes around it,” The Pokedex said.
“ Zoroark use Night Daze. Zoroark generated a field of dark energy that was heading towards Lapras which nailed her.
“ Lapras use Ice Beam. Lapras fired an Ice Beam which Turquoise was not fazed by.
“ Zoroark use Detect. Zoroark’s eyes glowed as she dodged the Ice Beam which Prima was waiting for.
“ Now use Sheer Cold. Lapras unleashed a bunch of cold air which began to form around Zoroark and cause her to faint instantly.
“ Zoroark is unable to battle Lapras is the winner,” The ref said while pointing his left flag at Prima.
“ Return Zoroark,” turquoise said as she recalled Zoroark. Turquoise was beginning to feel overwhelmed but kept going. “ Come back out Ninetails. Ninetails came back out and was glad to be standing on solid ground again. “ Ninetails use Fire Blast. Ninetails unleashed her Fire Blast which did not faze Prima.
“ Lapras use Hydro Pump. Lapras unleashed a powerful stream of water that collided with the Fire Blast. Both moves pushed against each other until the Hydro Pump overpowered the Fire Blast and nailed Ninetails for a ton of damage as the sun’s rays faded. Ninetails managed to survive but barely.
“ Ninetails use Fire Blast full power. Ninetails unleashed another Fire Blast that was bigger and more powerful which managed to hit Lapras for a ton of damage which caused it to faint.
“ Lapras is unable to battle Ninetails is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his Right flag at Turquoise.
“ Return Lapras,” Prima said as she recalled Lapras. Prima was beginning to see Turquoise’s biggest flaw and knew it was almost time to show her that flaw. “ Slowbro I chose You. Prima called Slowbro back onto the field. “ Slowbro use Brine. Slowbro unleashed a barrage of water droplets that inflicted a ton of damage which caused Ninetails to faint.
“ Ninetails is unable to battle Slowbro is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.
“ Return Ninetails,” Turquoise said as she recalled Ninetails. Turquoise was down to her last pokemon while Prima still had three left which put her at a disadvantage. Turquoise pinned all her hopes on her final Pokemon. “ Go Venusaur. Venusaur appeared and shook the battlefield upon landing. Turquoise pulled out her Pendant and rubbed the mega stone on it. “ My flower of power mega evolve. Venusaur began to mega evolve which showed Prima that Turquoise was aiming to end this quickly. Prima pulled out what looked like a clamshell necklace with a mega stone embedded into it.
“ Let's make this interesting. My freezing wave mega evolve,” Prima said as she rubbed the mega stone which caused Slowbro to transform into a slowpoke with the big shell covering its whole body while balancing on its tail like a top. The battle was intense as Venusaur and Slowbro went at each other. Both pokemon were getting tired and it all came down to one last move from both sides.
“ Venusaur use Petal Dance. Venusaur unleashed his Petal Dance which Prima was expecting.
“ Slowbro use Psychic. Slowbro unleashed its Psychic on the petals and sent them back to Venusaur who took the damage and fainted.
“ Venusaur is unable to battle Slowbro is the winner which means Prima wins the match,” The Ref said while pointing his left flag at Prima. Turquoise looked sad that she lost but Prima assured her it was a great battle.
“ You're a good trainer, you are compassionate and able to adapt to any change thrown at you. But you have one major flaw. You are impatient and act like you want to end things quickly. Tell me do you actually enjoy battling?” Prima asked.
“ I do with all my heart,” Turquoise said.
“ Then why do you rush things and try to end it all quickly instead of enjoying the fun?” Prima asked.
“ Because I was told that in a battle there is no time to think only act and that thinking would lead to defeat,” Turquoise said.
“ I get it, your opponents will come in strong and fast. But you need to stay calm and observe the battle. I suggest you work on that before challenging us again,” Prima said.
“ I will,” Turquoise said.
“ I hope you do because the next time we battle I want you to be at your best,” Prima said. After all, her Pokemon were healed Turquoise and the girls returned to Pallet Town. Before turquoise went to bed she reflected on what Prima told her.
The next day Turquoise was at the airport bidding farewell to Twilight and the others. After a heartfelt goodbye, Turquoise returned home to think of where to go next. As she was walking she saw the silhouette of a giant bird pokemon which dropped a feather. Turquoise caught it and noticed it was a feather that glowed with all seven colors of the rainbow. Turquoise decided to head to Professor Oak’s Lab to ask him about it. As soon as she showed the feather to Professor Oak he was amazed by what Turquoise had.
“ What you have there is called a Rainbow Wing. It's a special feather that comes from the legendary Pokemon Ho-oh,” Professor Oak said.
“ Ho-oh?” Turquoise asked, confused.
“ It’s a legendary Pokemon from the Johto Region. It only reveals itself to pure-hearted trainers and only grants those Trainers one of its feathers which brings happiness to those that bare them,” Professor Oak explained. “ I think this is a sign Ho-oh wants to meet you.
“ Then it's decided my next journey will be to the Johto Region,” Turquoise declared proudly which her mom heard.
“ Splendid. Before you go let me make you a new outfit for your journey,” Turquoise’s mom said before taking the Rainbow Wing from Turquoise. “ Don’t worry I'm not going to damage it, I'm going to make it easier to carry.
“ Any idea which Pokemon you will be taking with you on this journey?” Professor Oak asked.
“ I decided I'm going to only bring my Espeon,” Turquoise said.
“ Are you sure that's all you want to bring? You can bring more than one Pokemon you know,” Professor Oak asked.
“ I’m sure. Espeon has been my friend since before I started out as a Trainer so this time I want to begin with just her,” Turquoise said.
“ You know you're almost a lot like him,” Professor Oak said while remembering Ash. As soon as everything was decided Turquoise and her mom along with Espeon returned to Turquoise’s house for the night. Despite the little tussle Yamper and Espeon got into they settled it and became friends. After dinner Turquoise returned to her room to look back on everything she has been through on this journey. Turquoise and her Espeon went to bed together. While in the attic Turquoise’s mom was busy working on what looked like a new contest dress for Turquoise while the traveling outfit was on a mannequin.
“ My Turquoise has come so far and all with the help of her new friends. I hope she keeps making some more on this journey as well,” Turquoise’s mom said before going to her room for the night.
The next day Turquoise was standing in the living room wearing a purple dress with a black jacket that had a big blue stripe across it and on the sleeves along with black tights and purple sneakers and finally her Rainbow Wing attached to her Grandmother’s pendant from the bottom of the moon. Turquoise’s mom came in holding what looked like a purple backpack with frills on it.
“ I packed everything you could need included a new contest dress,” Turquoise’s mom said.
“ Thanks, mom, you're the best,” Turquoise said.
“ be careful out there and have fun,” Turquoise’s mom said before Turquoise left for the docks to board the next ship to the Johto Region. As soon as the ship set sail Turquoise and her Espeon looked at the horizon and looked excited to see what was in store for them on this new adventure.
