//------------------------------// // The Next Day (Or: Jenga!) // Story: Ponies In Australia // by Dawn-Designs-Art //------------------------------// The day passed quickly, and was filled with many questions and answers. The ponies answered my questions to best of their abilities and I answered their questions as well as I could. Twilight Sparkle only woke to eat dinner, which was pasta with a creamy sauce and more salad, no meat. That night Rarity slept in the guest room, Fluttershy slept in my sister’s room, Rainbow Dash slept in my brother’s room and Pinkie Pie slept in my other sister’s room. Applejack insisted on sleeping in the folding couch bed. I woke the next morning to the smell of fresh bread and baking cake. Walking downstairs I found Pinkie Pie in the kitchen with an apron on, Applejack and Rainbow Dash playing Jenga at the dining table and Fluttershy talking quietly to Mystery. “Howdy Rebecca, sleep well?” Applejack said as I came down. “Yeah, I did thanks, did you?” I replied with a yawn. “Eeyup, sure did” Applejack smiled, then removed a block from the Jenga tower, only to have the tower come crashing down. “Ha! I win again” Rainbow Dash said in triumph “Oh, morning Rebecca.” “Morning Dash” I walked over and sat at the kitchen bench. “Morning Pinkie, I see you raided the pantry, smells great” I said with a smile. “Good morning Beccy! And thanks! I slept super well, you sister had so many pretty things in her room. Is she older than you?” Pinkie asked. “I’m three years older than her, two years older than my brother and I’m about nine years older than my other sister” I replied. “Wow, I bet you’re the best big sister ever!” The timer on the oven went off. “Ooh, the chocolate cake is ready!” Pinkie said happily and bounced to the oven to get the cake out. “Good morning dearies” Rarity said as she came down the hall. “Hiya Rarity!” Pinkie set the cake to cool. “Breakfast is ready everypony!” We all ate fresh bread for breakfast, and I was thrilled to find that the show was right; Pinkie Pie was a great baker. Twilight joined us, no longer tired, and through breakfast she asked me multiple questions about everything she could think of, and I answered each question as well as I could, though it obviously annoyed her when I couldn’t offer an answer to some of her more complicated questions. The others drifted over to the couch to watch ‘Grand Designs’ as Twilight and I spoke. This continued for at least three hours, then Pinkie started to make lunch, and Rarity helped. Twilight finally exhausted her supply of questions as lunch was served. We all sat down to eat our salad sandwiches with our glasses of lemonade, which Pinkie had found in the fridge. If Pinkie or Rarity had seen the meat in the fridge or freezer, they didn’t ask me any questions about it. We were happily eating, with ‘Pets 101’ on the TV, when all of a sudden there was a loud knock at the front door.
