I couldn’t concentrate. I sat next to her in English, but now, she’s gone. Sunset’s gone.
I ran out of the classroom, into the boys’ lavatory. I dried my eyes, trying to not let her death get the better of me.
But she was young. 16 years old, nearly 17. I think. She didn’t deserve to die to that bitch Gilda.
I sobbed into my pillow that night. I heard a voice. In front of me was Sunset Shimmer, my girlfriend, standing there, smiling.
“Hey,” she said in a soft voice. “Princess Luna and Princess Twilight helped me. They said I could communicate with you for 20 minutes. I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being my best friend and boyfriend. I’m sorry how I treated you years ago. I want you to have this.”
She opened the palm of her hand. Laid in the centre of it was a locket with my name. I opened it, in it was a picture of Sunset and I at Camp Everfree, the day I fell in love with her. Next to it was the day we first kissed.
She also handed me a letter. “Read it later.” she whispered.
Then she faded into nothing.
I woke up with a jolt.
I clutched the letter in my hand. It wasn’t a dream.
I opened it.
Dear Flash,
I want to say, I love you.
If I had lived, I would have trashed Gilda.
I’m sorry, give my love to RD and the girls.
Yours truly, Sunset x
I smiled. I knew she hadn’t forgotten me.
