It’s a bright and sunny morning and Rara is home alone and is not quite feeling herself. Both her daughters are out and about with friends, so she quick calls up her friend, AJ. “Hey AJ, I’m not feeling so great,” she says over the line, “and I’m home alone with no way to get to the doctor, what with Spotlight in the studio all day today.” 

“I’ll be right over,” AJ responds before hanging up, hitching the cart up to her withers, and running as fast as she possibly can to Rara’s house. There, she enters upon her friend’s weak call of “come in.” Once inside, she finds Rara on the couch. She picks up her friend and places her in the cart along with some blankets and they rush to the doctor where Rara is immediately taken inside and AJ is left to wait. 

“How long have you been feeling like this, Mrs. Coloratura?” Inquires the doctor. 

“Maybe three four weeks now, I meant to come in sooner but I just couldn’t move,” responds Rara. “I’ve been so weak.” 

The doctor runs a few tests before giving her the results, the news. “Well, Mrs. Coloratura, you’re pregnant. Come back in four months and we’ll know how many as well as the gender or genders of the foal or foals.” 

“Will do,” responds Rara. The doctor helps her out of the office and back to the waiting room where AJ helps her friend out the door, into the cart, and home. 

“So, what did the doctor say?” Inquires AJ. 

“Nothing I wasn’t already expecting, I’m pregnant again, I have to go back in four months, just wait until I tell Spotlight and the girls,” sighs Rara. “Now let’s go home.” AJ nods and they head to Rara’s house. Once there, AJ helps her friend inside and up to bed where they talk for a few more minutes. 

“I can’t believe you’re going to be a mom, again,” says AJ. “I still remember when you first brought over Spectacle Dazzle when she was first born, same with Shining Star.” 

“Yeah, me too,” says Rara weakly as she lets out a sigh. A few moments later, she passes out, fast asleep. AJ takes that as her cue and leaves. 

A few hours later, Shining Star, Spectacle Dazzle, and their dad Spotlight return home. “Where’s momma?” Inquire the puzzled fillies. “She was on the couch when we left out this morning.” 

“She probably went upstairs for a nap,” responds Spotlight. He and the girls make their way up the stairs and to his and Rara’s room where they do indeed soon find Rara fast asleep in bed. She awakes upon their entry and responds weakly. 

“Hey honey, hey girls,” she says with a yawn, “how’s your day been?” 

“Good,” responds Spotlight. 

“It’s been fun, thanks,” respond the girls. 

“What’s going on dear? What’s wrong?” Inquires Spotlight. “You look awful.” 

“I know,” responds Rara weakly, “honey, girls, I’m pregnant.” 

“Well, that’s great!” Exclaims Spotlight as he hugs his wife. 

“We’re gonna be big sisters! We’re gonna be big sisters!” The girls cheer and exclaim excitedly. 

“Yes you are,” says Rara weakly, doing her best to hold the smile on her face. “Yes you are.” 

Four months later, Spotlight on his day off of work, takes Rara back to the hospital and they learn from the doctor the gender of their foals as well as how many. “Well,” says the doctor, “there’s two in there. Both fillies. Congratulations. I’ll see you in eight months when they’re ready to be born.” 

“Yes, see you in eight months,” Rara responds weakly as Spotlight helps her down and they head home. 

“I can’t believe it’s twins,” she says to him with a smile. 

“Yeah, me neither,” responds Spotlight. “We’re so blessed.” A few moments later, they’re home once more and Spotlight leads her up to bed where she soon passes right out. They can’t wait to expand their family once more. After all, come 8 months, there’ll be two new little fillies in the family. They can’t wait.
