My new friends and I ran into the parking lot. Snips and Snails skidded past the portal, as Sunset Shimmer, my arch enemy, stepped out of the shadows. She had a sledge hammer by her feet, and Spike was struggling in Snips’s arms.
“Twilight!” he shouted.
“Don’t hurt him!” I cried.
“Oh, I wouldn’t dream of it,” sneered Sunset. “I’m not a monster, Twilight.” She turned to her two lackies, Snips and Snails. “Let him go.”
Spike bounded in to my open arms. I held him tight against my chest, never wanting to lose him. “You don’t belong here,” continued Sunset. “Give me the crown, and you can go back to Equestria tonight. Or keep it, and never go home. Tick tock, Twilight, we haven’t got all night. The portal will be closing on its own in less than an hour. So. What’s your answer?”
“No,” I said.
“WHAT?!” shrieked Sunset. “Equestria! Your friends, lost to you forever! Don’t you see what i am about to do to the portal?!”
“yes,” I said calmly, but inside I was bubbling with rage. “But i’ve also seen what you can do withoutmagic. Equestria can survive without my element of harmony. This place might not, if I let it fall into your hands. So go ahead. Destroy the portal. YOU. ARE. NOT. GETTING. THIS. CROWN!”
She dropped the sledge hammer with a crash. “Fine.” she snarled. “You win.”
“You. Are. So. AWESOME!” yelled Rainbow Dash.
“I can’t believe you were gonna do that fer us!” cried Applejack.
“It’s no wonder you’re a real live princess,” said Rarity.
“Oh yes,” sneered Sunset. “She’s so very special.”
She turned to the 2 boys. “GRAB HIM YOU FOOLS!”
Spike grabbed the crown in his mouth, throwing it to the girls. I caught it, before accidently throwing it to Sunset Shimmer. I turned to see her put the crown on her arrogant red-gold hair, before a column of air rose up around her.
