//------------------------------// // Jake's Revenge and New Friend // Story: The Element of Chaos // by JakeDrake //------------------------------// The Element of Chaos By JakeDrake Chapter 15 Jake woke up slowly and only opened his left eye a bit, looking to see if there were any more objects nearby that were floating that would hit him in the head. He saw the tailor from earlier sitting in a chair without the glasses on, he remained still as he watched him and noticed he was sound asleep. Jake opened his other eye moving ever so slowly, noticing there was a suit on a hanger near the chair. “Is everypony insane, or is it only the ones I meet?” He asked himself muttering as he snuck out of the room stepping on some fabric to muffle his steps. As he slipped out the door creaked making him tense and look back quickly seeing the pony was still asleep. He kept moving and closed the door as softly as he could. He moved down the hallway quickly watching the door carefully and bumped into a wall. He turned to rub his nose and saw something was coming from down another hallway, at first he thought it was smoke but he could hear the rush of water. He walked down the hall smiling crossing his new fingers that it was what he had hoped. He turned a corner and could only smile as he saw a door with what looked like a bathtub painted on it. He nearly ran over to it and pushed it open, but one thing did not cross his mind. What if someone was already inside. He opened the door and the steam clouded his vision and covered his glasses. He reached up and pulled off his glasses carefully and cleaned them off on his fur. He put them back on and saw a dark figure in front of him. He looked squinting a bit as the steam cleared. Of course, it was still early morning in Equestria so Luna had taking the time to take her own bath. She was simply doing her normal schedule, stay up for breakfast with her sister, finish anything she would have needed to do, take her bath to clean up from the night’s activities. She had always done this in the lowest baths. Jake put his glasses slowly back on and saw Princess Luna looking at him in the hot water, he looked back blinking. They looked at each other and stared, Jake was surprised and slowly started to back away. Luna looked at him and slowly sunk deeper into the water until everything from below her nose and eyes were under. Jake stepped out of the room and closed the door slowly and turned around. He started to walk toward a staircase he saw nearby and walked up. He patted his fur a bit and shook his head for not thinking that anyone could be inside. He ended up in a hallway and looked around trying to find anything to help him find his way when he heard a few voices from around the corner. He walked over to see what had happened and saw a pair of unicorns poking around a large door. “I’m telling you Locke, this lock can’t be opened.” Said the one on the right, she was rather short with a yellow mane and blue coat, she also had three books and a magnifying glass as a cutie mark. “I don’t care how much you say you know about magical locks.” “And I’m telling you Investa,” Said the taller of the two, he had a blue mane with a light grey coat with a key in an old fashioned padlock. “If there is a lock, I can get it opened. No matter who closed it.” Jake walked over quitely making sure to keep on the nice carpet to muffle his steps as they moved away seeming to take a break. They kept arguing as they walked down another hallway, saying something about locks and old magic. He leaned down to see what they were trying to open. It was the lock to what seemed like a very large and very old door. He saw a small hole in the center that seemed to be a keyhole. He sat down on the floor looking at the hole, it didn’t have any markings that could be explained of how the key would fit, it was just a round hole. On the door was a painting of a Draconequus, or what Jake knew as whatever the hell he was. He looked at his bird hand and looked at the painting, the only strange part was that one of the fingers on the painting were made to be seeming to glow. He considered poking his finger in the hole, thinking of what would be the worse that could happen. He ran his finger down the wall and let it slip into hole, he felt something at the back and tapped it lightly making a loud clicking sound come from the door causing Jake to pull his finger out of the hole quickly. He got up watching the door open slowly as the painting glowed moving to one side of the door and winking a bit. Jake stared into the dark room and rubbed his chin. “Go inside the dark room that seems to be so dusty no one has been in there for who knows how long...or simply leave it for those two unicorns...” He asked himself and sighed, “Might as well...People will notice if I’m knocked out and I’ll figure out where the hell I am then.” He walked in and felt his foot lower and crystals around him lit up and showed a huge room full of anything that could have been shiny. Gold, gemstones, odd chunks of metal, it was a hoard of treasure. Jake’s jaw dropped too the ground, literally, making him pull it up walking closer. “All this...” He smiled and jumped into the gold, “Rich! Oh man! This is more money than I’ve ever seen!” He started to swim through the gold coins smiling like a mad man. He had always dreamed of swimming in money, just like that old duck in a show he had watched in the past. He kept going until his head hit something sticking out of the gold pile. He looked up and saw a pot falling toward his head. He could only blink when it,somehow, slipped around his face and got stuck on his snout. He shook his head as he tried to pry the jar off of his long face. He kept pushing and shaking until he finally got it loose with a loud pop sending the pot into the wall with a loud crash. “What was that over there?” He heard someone say outside of the door as he got up out of the gold pile and grabbed a few things as he ran out. Those things happened to be a few rings, a large gold crown with odd gemstones in it that seemed to glow faintly, and a large diamond encrusted purple cup. Call him conceded, but he always wanted to have some kind of fancy cup and one with diamonds was just too hard to pass up. He slipped along the wall hearing hoof beats against the floor. His hand pushed some sort of button closing the doors as he slunk toward a staircase which he raced up. The door closed quietly as he saw a door slightly ajar letting in a bit of light. He opened the door and saw he was in a small open air room full of odd trees, Jake leaned toward one of the leaves reaching to feel it before a small chirp came from above his head. The bird Jake saw was amazing, the feathers were fiery red with a light yellow on the tips. It's eyes were blue, a clear contrast to its feathers, they even seemed to have the glimmer of curiosity. They looked at each other, every motion being watched by the other. He held out his finger and gave a slight whistle to call the bird closer. He smiled as it flapped its wings landing on a branch more level to his own arm. He moved his arm slowly and pet the bird on the head lightly on the head. It gave a slightly happy chirping, making Jake smile a bit. He set the goodies in a flower pot to keep there until later. Jake saw a glass door out to what looked like a garden. He smiled a bit and whistled walking a bit letting his arms reach up behind his head relaxing. Watching the skies around the castle he noticed only white stallions with the gold armor were flying, except for some pony that left some sort of smoke trail. He wrote it off as some kind of fireworks or magic, nothing that didn’t come his way or was too close he told himself not to worry about. He saw a bench and walked over it and, using the hedge behind it as a back, sat down. He closed his eyes letting himself listen to the closest thing in the castle that would be considered nature. He hummed a few bars of an old song he loved where you were told only to take what you needed. He noticed something faint coming from his left, almost like sobbing but not quite. He got up following the sound and found himself near a fountain with a statue of a few ponies in singing poses with water coming out of their mouths. Jake had never understood those fountain, they seemed odd that would represent song of any sort of flow, but he wasn’t here to ponder the fountains or why they were made the way they were. He was now looking for the source of the sobbing. He looked into around and heard it coming from the direction of a small statue guardian. He walked down the path looking down all rows of statues looking for anything that would tell him where the sobbing sound came from, now that it was much clearer. As he walked down toward a small section surrounded by hedges it grew louder. He peeked his head around the wall of hedges and saw something that made his heart sink. It was a small filly, crying in the shadows of the hedges sniffing and wiping away her tears as they streamed down her dark purple coat. The pony’s mane was a light blue and a pair of wings, which were somewhat like his own, were held close to her body. Jake moved slowly into the small blocked off area to sit down next to the young pony. When he sat down his tail tapped the stand of a wind chime that rung softly in the garden. The small filly looked up still crying wiping away her tears forming in her big yellow eyes. Jake frowned, he had always hated seeing people cry. But seeing something that was so innocent made his heart just break. “G-go away...” The filly said still crying turning away from him, sniffingly as she spoke, “I-I don’t need anything else making fun of me...” She shook a little as she cried, Jake frowned watching her and noticed something missing on the filly. She didn’t have any sort of symbol on her. “I won’t...I promise...” Jake said, lightly placing a paw on the ponies head patting it softly, “Besides...no one needs to be alone when they’re sad...it doesn’t help if no one is there to offer it...” The filly sniffled again looking at him somewhat angry looking and asked, “W-why do you care? No one else cares about a nobody blank flank...it doesn’t mean much when you’re a pegasus with no one at home...” “Hey now...don’t call yourself that...” He said giving her a sad look, “If you just accept it...you won’t get anywhere...and no one gets anywhere by sitting alone crying...” The filly bit her lip and looked away still sniffling, Jake soon realized that he needed to do something that would get the filly to smile. He started to think, and think, and think making an odd face as he tapped his chin. Soon the filly still sniffling looked at him oddly until he smiled so wide it looked like his face split in two. “Why are you so happy?” The filly asked with a mutter and a sniffle. “Because...I have a plan.” Jake said smiling a little holding up his hand. “Tell me...what would your favorite food be?” The filly looked at him, thinking he was crazy. “I...I like ice cream...” The filly said quietly. She wasn’t looking at Jake who snapped his fingers, making a big tub of ice cream fall out of the sky and in front of the Filly. She snapped back looking at him then at the ice cream, than him again. She gave a little grin and started to chow down. “Now then...” He said still smiling, “Glad to see you cheered up a little...so what’s your name little filly?” “I-I’m Dusk Wing...” She said smiling a little. “Sorry for being in the garden...Miss Hook was in a bad mood again...” “Who’s this Miss Hook?” He asked, “Is she some sort of pirate?” He smiled a bit as he snapped again making a pirate hat appear on his head, unfortunately it was filled with seawater making him soak his head. It was quite the sight to see for little Dusk, who started to laugh loudly as he sputtered and spit a bit on the bushes. “Darn it...can’t get a break can I?” He asked to no one but himself taking off the pirate hat and shaking it trying to dry it off. He heard the filly laughing making him smile a bit. “Miss Hook is the griffon who takes are of me...she runs the orphanage here...” Dusk said but lowered her voice again letting her ears droop a little, “Not much of an orphanage with only one orphan...” Jake gave a few tsks and shook his head saying, “Well then...might as well live it up before you go back then?” He smiled a bit chuckling as he got up. “Come on...let’s go have some fun.” “What kind of fun?” She asked smiling a little getting up, her tears all dried up. “Whatever you want to do. It’s all up to you... in fact...” He said as he bowed down to her level smiling, "Your wish is my command.” Dusk looked a little stunned and thought a second before saying. “I want to go scare someone!” She smiled again, Jake noticing the rather sharp looking teeth. “Maybe one of the guards or someone!” Jake tapped his chin thinking and then got an idea that made him grin. His grin widened until he looked like the cat in the canary cage. He looked at the filly and said, “I know just the pony...” He gave a dark little chuckle tapping his fingers together making the Filly smile not knowing that who he planned to prank, was someone who could send them to the moon on a whim. ....................... Jake and Dusk slipped down the hallway, slipping behind pillars on each side. They smiled as Jake had a sack of things he had ‘found’ around his room. Mostly things like books and tacks and things from the walls, but a few things he had borrowed from the shed in the garden, things like rope and a bucket of pink paint. Dusk and Jake snuck toward a large set of stairs, but unlike Jake’s stairs, these were clearly brightly lit and made of marble. It made him wonder why he didn’t get the fancy steps when Celestia got marble. He stuck his upper lip out a little as he slunk up the steps with dusk with a smile that would have made the cheshire cat proud. He practiced his snapping a few times with Dusk watching, and letting her laugh at his mistakes, and got down most of it. He noticed that most of the time, that if something could be made funny, would be. Ranging from flowers turning into lollipops to the fountain’s water statue flipping the bodies around. This of course made Dusk bust out laughing with Jake, who left it for somepony to find. They reached the door and let Dusk push it open a crack to peak in, she looked back and nodded slipping into the crack after Jake opened it enough for both to get in and close it. They had distracted the guards when Jake made a few animals start singing and dancing to show tunes. Dusk wanted to watch a bit, but Jake promised he’d do more later and it was time for the scare/prank of the century. Jake also noticed that the guards seemed to be very unfocused, or perhaps they were just dumb. Jake saw the room was dominated by the large bed, it was covered with a blanket that was made to look like a rainbow with the pillows acting as the clouds. He snuck in and started to tie a few things off, as planned beforehand in the garden. Dusk started by replacing the contents of the pillow cases with hard cover books, while Jake mixed anything in the jars on a table covered in different make up material. They quickly did more things of the like, until they finished up by painting a bat wing and horn on the other side of the door. They looked out into the room smiling proud of themselves before they heard something walking up the steps toward the bedroom. The duo looked at one another and dived into the closet nearby. They had the door only open a crack as they watch Celestia walk in slowly, looking tired and sighing happily as she stepped over three trip wire paint can dumpers, missed spilling ink onto herself by bumping into a desk, and not noticing the large mustache in bright pink paint on a painting of what looked like Prince Blueblood. Celestia walked into the bathroom, which the Jake had only added a few things, and shut the door. Jake lifted Dusk up and raced out the door without the prank bag, barely out when they heard the water running in the bathroom. They raced down the hall, taking sharp turns, and hoping out a door into the garden under Celestia’s tower. “What now?” Dusk asked as Jake smiled looking up at the balcony who rubbed his hands together. He had the most evil of grins because, he had found a large bag of flour out in the hall and knew just how hard it was to get wet flour off of anything. He held up three fingers and slowly started to lower them, knowing the rope he had set would be going off right when she stepped into the shower. His last finger dropped as he heard a shriek of surprise, then an angry yell. He covered his mouth a bit to stifle his laughter as the filly did the same. “You’d better get back to Miss Hook,” Jake said with a wink, “you probably don’t want the Princess knowing we were the ones who rigged her room with all those pranks.” Dusk nodded a little and smiled. She started to run toward a nearby gate looking back at him waving as best as she could and said “Bye Jake! Today was Great! Hope to see you again tomorrow in the Gardens!” He smiled waving to her laughing a bit, liking how he cheered up the filly. They had nicked muffins from the kitchen, set up everything in Celestia’s room, and even had a fun day avoiding the guards. It was very chaotic, but Jake liked the kid. She reminded him of him when was younger and acted crazy. He sat leaning against the walls of the castle, listening to the yelps of Celestia, and the guards who had gone to investigate. He soon got up, and headed inside walking toward the dining room, which he had a slight idea of where it was at. But he figured he’d have time to find it, it wasn’t like Celestia was going to be there anytime soon. He smiled as he found it very quickly and sat down, in the nice chair he sat in before smiling telling the waiter who ran in to bring him grilled cheese, hoping they had it in Equestria, and looking at Luna who was eating a bowl of cereal. “Should we even ask what our sister is screaming about?” Luna asked sitting across from him levitating the spoon with her magic. Jake smiled as a glass of water was brought in and started to tell Luna all about it smiling. Making Luna’s new ‘day’ a lot brighter and Celestia’s night a lot more tiresome. He explained it all, even helping the little filly out earlier. Celestia soon walked in, her hair now a dull purple color from when he put hair dye in the shower head, he shut up and kept eating his grilled cheese and finished it quickly. He said his goodbye to the two Princesses and hurried out of the room. What did Celestia expect from someone who she tricked so many times not to get her back...or that she knew and just was planning her revenge
