It was the next and second day of the tournament. You were currently in a match with a kid named Arman. The score was currently 1-0 and you were in the lead. Sunset, Aria, and Rainbow had already won their matches for the day and you were finishing yours. But this Arman kid was getting on your nerves. Ever since you got that first point on him Arman had been running away like a baby. It's been at least five minutes since you've started battling him. Finally, Arman tried to kick you. 'Perfect' You dodge the kick and then you elbowed him in the ribs. Then you kick him in the stomach making him fall onto the mat.
"That's a point to Anon. 2-0. Anon is the winner." The teacher said.
'Finally, it was about time to' You shake his hand and he leaves the mat. Cheers fill the air in the gym as you walk off the mat. You look around the gym, there were even fewer people than there was yesterday. Your eye then catches Dusk Shine's match. He landed a solid punch to the kid's face making the kid fall to the ground in pain. He won the match and heads over to Blueblood which was still in the tournament. You then look at the clock, there were only seven minutes left in the day, your match with Arman took longer than you thought. Master Luna looked at you and she points for you to come toward her. As you were headed over to her, a whistle goes off. Everyone stops and starts to head to her.
"Attention. Whoever is still in the tournament stays on the mats, whoever lost you should still be proud of yourself." Celestia said speaking through the mic.
As you look around to see who is still in or not you see a lot of people get off the mats. You look at everyone who is still alive. Either you suck at counting or your eyes were messing with you but you only counted eight people. You, Sunset, Aria, Rainbow, Blueblood, Dusk Shine, Bulk Biceps, and one of Dusk Shine's friends.
Celestia smiled at the eight of you. "I didn't expect there to be this amount of contestants left after day two. Congratulations to the eight of you that are still in. We'll see you all tomorrow. Good luck and I hope you have a good day."
As you change back into your clothes you start to think about the tournament. Only eight people were left after day two? Now the competition would be even tougher than today. You see your family and friends and you start to head to them.
"You did awesome Anon." Your mom said with a smile.
"Thanks, mom." You said as you smiled at her.
"Now how about we celebrate you four for making it to the quarter-finals? Dinner on us." Your dad said with a big smile.
"Yeah." Everyone yells.
You start to head out of the school with your parents and you see a car. Then you see Dusk Shine get into the car. 'That's odd, normally he walks home.' Maybe a friend was giving him a ride? You didn't know but you didn't care. You just wanted to have a good time with your friends and family. But what you didn't know was that a special someone was coming to town.
Dusk Shine was headed out of the school but as he was a car pulled up. He looks to see who it is, it was his mom, Lucy. He says goodbye to Blueblood and he gets into the car.
"Hi, mom. What are you doing? You never normally come to pick me up." Dusk Shine said as she looks at his mom.
"There's someone that's coming to town. We're going to meet him at a special restaurant at 7:30." Lucy said looking at her son.
"Who's coming to town and what restaurant?" Dusk Shine asked as he got into the car.
Lucy looks at her son with a smile. "You'll find out later and plus... is it a crime for me to not pick my son up." Dusk Shine just shrugged his shoulders.
It was currently 7:00 and Dusk Shine was waiting for his mom. He really didn't care too much about why they were going to meet someone at a restaurant. A door opens and Dusk Shine turns around, it was his mom in a dress.
"Ready to go?" Lucy asked as she grabbed her keys and headed to the car.
"Yep." Dusk Shine said as he headed to the car.
Dusk Shine and his mom walk out of the house and get into her car. The car starts up and they start to drive off. Dusk Shine was looking out the window as they drove to the restaurant. He looks out of a window he sees a restaurant, It was some kind of Mexican restaurant. The car stops and his mom grabs her purse.
Lucy then opens her car door. "Come on, we're here."
Dusk Shine gets up and starts to head to the restaurant. The night was pitch black and there was a slight chill in the air. As he walks into the restaurant he sees nobody in the restaurant. He looks around until he sees a mysterious man in the corner of the room. Dusk Shine looks back at his mom and sees that his mom was walking toward the man. Reluctant about heading to the man Dusk Shine decides to follow his mom. Both Dusk Shine and his mom take a seat, there was already food on the table. The mysterious man looks up at them. The man looked familiar to Dusk Shine but it was on the tip of his tongue.
"Hello, Lucy it's nice to see you again." The man then looked at Dusk Shine. "Dusk Shine, you've grown since we've last seen each other."
Lucy smiled. "It's nice to see you too Aaron after all this time."
'So his name is Aaron' Dusk Shine thought as he looked at the man. 'How did he know about my mom's name and me? Is he like her friend or something?'
"If you don't mind me asking... who are you?" Dusk Shine asked as he looked at the man.
The man named Aaron smiled. "I'm not surprised. You were too young to remember me."
Dusk Shine continued to look at Aaron confused. "So your one of my mom's friends? Or are you one of her twelve brothers I've never seen yet."
Aaron shakes his head. He looks at Lucy and she shakes her head. Aaron looks back at Dusk Shine. "Dusk Shine... I'm your dad."
Dad? You see... Dusk Shine grew up without a father in his life. He was too young to remember his dad being there at the beginning. Dusk Shine's father left him when he was only five. How was Dusk Shine supposed to react to seeing his dad after twelve years? He missed Dusk Shine's elementary graduation, middle school graduation, and twelve whole birthdays, and now he comes back out of nowhere.
"So your mother has told me that you made it to the quarter-finals in the Self-Defense club tournament. You must feel good about making it this far." Aaron said as he continued to look at his son.
Dusk Shine nodded his head. "I do, just as long as I get to battle Anon and beat him I'll be happy."
Aaron looked at his son surprised. "Anon? His dad wouldn't happen to be Mr. Anonymous?"
Dusk Shine looked at his dad confused. "Yes... why do you ask? You know what that doesn't matter why are here after all this time."
"I guess you do deserve to hear about why I've been gone for so long." Aaron started. "Well, this is what happened before I met your mom. When I was younger I didn't grow up with parents. I lived at an orphanage my whole life. I would get made fun of every day. Once I got into high school and found out about the Self-Defense club I joined it. Fast forward to my Senior year of high school, there was this kid... that kid just so happened to be Mr. Anonymous, Anon's dad. Me and him were friends at one point... I won't say how we stopped being friends but me and him broke apart. It was the finals of the Self Defense club, it was 2-2 and either one of us needed a point to win it all. In the end, he won, but by cheating. That night I left town."
Dusk Shine looked at him surprised. "Wow, so you knew Anon's dad?"
"Sure did. Now can I finish the story?" Aaron asks while Dusk Shine nodded his head. "Anyways, after I left I went to Manehattan. That was where I found your mother. We fell in love and got married and then we had you. I left because of work and because I couldn't come back to this place. I've only come back because I want us to be a family again. 'And because I want revenge'
Dusk Shine looked at his dad confused trying to put everything together. "So you left me and mom just because you didn't want to come to Canterlot."
Aaron nodded his head. "Will you forgive me? We will finally be together after all this time."
Dusk Shine thought about it and then spoke up. "... Fine but will you come and watch me at the tournament?"
Aaron nodded and smiled. "Of course and once you win we will have a celebration."
Dusk Shine looked at his dad and smiled. "Thanks, dad..."
The third day of the tournament had arrived. Yesterday's celebration was awesome and you couldn't hold in your excitement. The Quarter-Finals! You felt good and confident about today! As you looked back at your parents you gave them a smile. Celestia and Luna were currently working on the quarter-final matchups. You were talking to Sunset and Aria about making it this far in the tournament. They too were filled with excitement. Finally, Principal Celestia and Master Luna came back they looked happy.
"Attention. The quarter-finals are about to begin. I would also like to give a hand to our eight finalists. Let's give them a hand to these kids." Celestia said as the crowd burst into cheers. "Our two-time champion Dusk Shine, runner-up Sunset Shimmer, Aria Blaze, Rainbow Dash, Blueblood, Bulk Biceps, Ryan, and Anon!"
Master Luna then took the mic. "Here are the quarter-finals!" The board then showed the matchups: Dusk Shine vs Bulk Biceps, Anon vs Ryan, Sunset vs Blueblood, and Aria vs Rainbow Dash. "Good luck and may the quarter-finals begin!"
The quarter-finals have just begun...
