Starlight Glimmer; new ruler of Equestria? She’d never thought that it would ever happen, but it has. She thought that it would be easy, but it isn’t. I mean; how can babysitting three princesses be easy? Short answer; it isn’t easy. Now that the royal infants are fast asleep; Starlight Glimmer attempts to try and fulfill the princess’s tasks while they’re in their infantile state. Unfortunately for her; she’ll soon find out that it’s not so easy as she thinks it would... .



“Woah...” Starlight began as she looked upon rows upon rows of stacks of paperwork before her. “I’m really gonna need some help… . I can’t do all that!” Starlight began to get nervous; anxious about her new role in being ruler of Equestria. However; she’s starting to regret it just now upon seeing all of that paperwork before her.

Just then; before she could fully change her mind about being ruler; she then heard the three princesses all cry at the same time; even an extra pony/creature at that. Confused; she ran to the bedroom to open the door; only to find not just the princesses, but Spike as well.

Confused, and a little distraught; Starlight Glimmer asked; “Spike? What’re you doing here? And... how’d you even get in here when the door was locked?”

Before she could get an answer; Twilight got up slightly, and then said with tears streaming down her cheeks; “s-sowwy. W-we got magic powers that made bad.” The other two princesses nodded, and continued crying.

After a few minutes; Starlight used her magic to tidy up the room, and levitated Spike close to her so he can be calm. She then began saying whilst the princesses are still crying; “girls; calm down; okay? You’ll be alright; okay? It’s fine. Look..”. Starlight then tried to make a funny face; which failed, and caused the princesses to cry even louder now.

Starlight then facehoofed herself, and then says; “ugh.. can this day get any worse?” Unfortunately; it had, as she then heard Spike cry even louder than before as well; due to the princesses crying louder than before... .

With no choice; Starlight gave the three princesses pacifiers to use; which made them fall asleep instantly. However; since the princesses are asleep; Spike is not. And with that; he starts bawling, then tries to get Starlight’s attention, and starts clawing at her to get it. 

Feeling Spike’s sharp claws, she jolted, and said; “ow Spike! That hurt!” Driven back by that; Spike began to whimper, and tear up again; knowing that he’s in a lot of trouble for that.

Sighing; Starlight pulled Spike close to her, and pats his back gently whilst saying; “wanna help auntie Starlight do some paperwork?” Spike nodded, and sucked on one of his claws; (almost as if he’s sucking on one of his thumbs). With that; Starlight nodded as well; and left with Spike to go do some paperwork. However; once they made their return; they’ve encountered an unexpected surprise. What’s the surprise? Here it is... .



“Woah...” Starlight said as her eyes grew wide upon seeing the many more rows and stacks of paperwork towering over her. Spike too looked surprised, and said; “woooah...” in astonishment and awe.

With nothing to lose; Starlight took a breath, and then turned to Spike before saying; “ready Spike?” Spike replied by looking determined, and saluting to her.

Despite Spike being reverted back into a hatchling; his helping nature and personality hasn’t changed one bit. With that; Spike got into position besides Starlight’s chair, and Starlight got into hers as well by sitting on her chair. “Alright..” Starlight began; “let’s do this...”.



Few hours have passed, and this was the result... .

“Wow...” Starlight said whilst panting from exhaustion. “That... was a lot of paperwork. Whoo. I’m never doing that again...”. Spike replied with a thumbs up; (albeit a little weakened due to his exhaustion state as well). With that; Starlight got up, and then looked to Spike to ask; “say Spike; what do you say we play a little game for our break huh? It’ll be fun.” Spike gave another weakened thumbs up, but then fell asleep from exhaustion. With that; Starlight said; “I guess I can do that too...” and passed out on her chair.

With everypony asleep; things are starting to look more peaceful finally. Well... almost peaceful anyways... .
