Falling For a Mutant

Epilogue

Years Later…

“And that is how our first great adventure brought us together as one big family.” Master Splinter said with a smile.

He and Celestia were sitting side by side on the floor of their basement dojo across from a little girl no older than nine years old. She had white skin, long reddish brown, pink, and black hair, and pinkish brown eyes. But the strangest things about her were the pair of rat ears poking out from the top of her head and the little rat tail peeking out from under her pink dress. The girl blinked a couple of times; a look of awe was plastered on her face.

“Wow… you guys weren’t kidding when you said you’ve been through a lot.” She said in astonishment.

“Yes. Our journey together hasn’t been easy, but it couldn’t have happened without fate, courage, great purpose, and that one chance encounter.” Celestia said, reaching out and giving Splinter’s hand a gentle squeeze.

“Indeed. If it weren’t for your mother and her kindness, I probably would not be here to tell the tale today… and neither would you, my dear.” Splinter added; the girl giggled. “Now, your mother and I have a gift for you as we continue our journey. Although this is mostly from your own choosing, it is clear to us that it chose you.” He reached behind him, took out a package tied with a ruby red bow, and gave it to the little girl.

“Go on, sweetie. Open it.” Celestia said.

The little girl did as she was told; she untied the ribbon and removed the white wrapping paper and she gasped. It was a whip with a raspberry pink lash studded with pink gems and divided into three segments with a pink, diamond-shaped stone on the end of each and a smooth rose quartz gem in the pommel near the red leather bound handle. The girl’s eyes widened in wonder.

“A three-tailed Kunoichi whip?!” She exclaimed in excitement.

“For a warrior who is just as sharp, just as quick, and just as clever.” Splinter answered with a smile.

“Your father and big brothers made it just for you.” Celestia added, smiling with her husband.

“Whoa, this is amazing!” The girl cried, standing up and holding up her new weapon.

“Would you like to try it out?” Celestia asked.

“Yes, please!”

“Very well.”

Splinter and Celestia stood up and turned the girl around for her to see three small pyramids of empty soda cans sitting on the other side of the dojo. The girl took a fighting stance and unfurled her new whip, narrowing her eyes and holding her weapon tight.

“Now remember, keep your eye on the target and always have a tight grip. And… release!” Splinter said.

And with a flick of her wrist and with a loud crack, the middle pyramid of cans instantly collapsed. The girl smiled and whipped at another stack of cans, which quickly fell when her whip made contact. The girl grinned.

“Oh, take out the pommel. There’s a surprise.” Celestia said.

The girl did so; she removed the pommel and discovered it was attached to a different handle. She pushed a little button on the side and she discovered that the handle turned into a retractable Kunai Samurai sword. She gasped and threw the sword at the last stack of cans and the cans instantly collapsed. She grinned; she ran to grab her sword and she put it back into her whip handle.

“Oh my gosh, this is the greatest! Thank you guys so much!” She hugged Celestia and Splinter; they smiled and hugged her back.

“You’re welcome, sweetheart.” Celestia beamed.

They parted.

“Hamato Cressida, it is time for the next level of your training to begin. Are you ready?” Splinter asked, looking his daughter dead in the eye.

Cressida smiled a determined smile up at her parents. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”
