The very next morning as Celestia's sun was rising over Equestria, everyone and everypony were getting up and getting ready. As today was very important it was the one-thousandth Summer Sun Celebration, and Celestia decided to host this year's celebration in a particular location because she sensed some unique ponies. The town was called Ponyville. But not everyone has been up yet been enjoying the new day, as it was nearing noon three creatures were still snoozing. These creatures were Twilight, Spike, and Mushu. The reason they were still sleeping as they were up extremely late the night before discussing what they learned that day. It was a massive shock for them to learn Celestia had a sister and banished her to the moon.
Meantime, outside of Twilight's house, a white stallion who was part of the royal guard had a shield for a cutie mark his name was Shining Armor and he was Twilight's sister. Also, a lemur was outside of their home his name was Julian. King Julian to be precise, was only there because Maurice and Morty didn't want him around at the moment. He was driving them insane. They arrived there at 10 am sharp. Shining knocked on the door anxious to see his little sister, but there was no response. He tried again a few minutes later still nothing, he kept trying but still no answer. He was getting worried since usually, someone would have answered the door by now. At the same instant, Jullian was getting very impatient, he kept stamping his foot impatiently.
"What is taking those pansies so long? I mean it's just a door," Jullian finally asked after too much time has passed to his liking.
Shining inwardly sighed at him, especially when he called his sister and his adopted brothers pansies. He should be used to him doing this by now since he consistently calls everyone names. But, at the same time he knew the so-called King was right, he was pondering what was taking them so long. So, after 20 minutes he had enough and lit his horn followed by Julian who went in reluctantly, Shining started yelling frantically.
"Twiley! Twiley! Mushu? Spike? Where are you?" he yelled in worry.
Julian thought they were playing hide-and-seek and called out, "Come out, come out wherever you are!"
There was, however, no response. But, as he was about to call their names again, he paused. In the distance, he heard some snoring. He was relieved that they were safe but, was upset that they troubled him for nothing. He decided a little bit of personal revenge was in order. Hence, he decided to ask Julian who only just came into the room, since he had given up on his miniature game.
Shining paused slightly and meekly asked him, "Hey um.,"
He was hesitant to call him your majesty since Equestria at present has a ruler. Therefore at long last, he decided to call him King, to get on the guy's good side.
Shining Armor continued sternly, "King Julian, I want to ask you to do something for me."
Julian looked at him merely annoyed and reluctantly asked, "Well, what do you want me to do?"
Shining asked with a slight glint in his eyes as he decided the perfect prank, "I want you to wake Twilight as rude as possible. Can you do that?"
Julian rolled his eyes and thought, 'That's easy I can do that he should have asked for him to do something more complicated.' And then raised his head high as he responded out loud, "I'm King Julian, I can do anything."
Shining then told him where her room was, and he mockingly saluted him before he went to find Twilight's disordered room.
As he tiptoed into her room as to not wake her up, he pondered what technique to use to wake her. At long last, he decided to use the same one he used to wake Alex up when he first met him. He finally reached her room and heard her snoring, he crept onto her body and started talking.
He said, "Wake up, Miss Twilight."
Twilight opened her eyes slightly, and saw a blurry figure but decided to ignore it and go back to sleep.
He saw she went back to sleep and decided to try again, "Wake up, Miss Twilight."
Twilight opened her eyes again for a few seconds and saw the same thing. She thought she was still dreaming and went back asleep.
Julian was getting annoyed by this point and decided to try once more.
He said, "Rise and shining. Wakey-waking,"
This time Twilight finally woke up completely and once she did she started screaming very shrilly. When she looked to see what was in front of her, she realized she wasn't dreaming. In front of her was a giant rat, at least that was what she believed it was. She immediately got up and back kicked him to the wall, where he landed with a prominent thump. Spike and Mushu came in rubbing their eyes wondering what all the commotion was about.
Spike while yawning said, "What was all the screaming about Twilight?"
Mushu agreed and responded, "Yeah, I was trying to get my beauty sleep. I need at least 8 hours to get this handsome in the morning."
Spike rolled his eyes at his brother. Twilight also rolled her eyes but she did finally stop screaming and described to them what she saw. They looked at her in disbelief and were about to respond but then they heard laughing in the doorway before they could get the chance. In the doorway stood Shining Armor chuckling his head off at the sight of his sister waking up screaming.
Shining Armor laughed "That was hilarious thanks again, King Julian."
Julian grunted in response as he got up and said, "No problem, next time do it yourself."
Twilight finally got a look at what woke her up and then she looked sheepish. It wasn't a rat like she believed it was. It was a lemur. She went to apologize to him, but he already left to go who knows where. Spike and Mushu were already greeting him enthusiastically since he rarely visits them since he was always so busy.
Twilight then turned and glared at her brother at the prank he just pulled on her. But then her glare softened since she couldn't stay mad at him for long.
Shining smiled at his sister and said, "Hey LSBFF."
Twilight galloped over and hugged him and said, "Hey BBBFF, what are you doing here, and why did you wake me like that it wasn't funny."
Shining chuckled and responded, "Sorry Twiley, but I had to wake you up because it's almost 11 in the morning. Also, the reason I'm here is that because Celestia gave me the day off. She, also wanted me to go with you to oversee the preparations."
Twilight was now panicking when she heard she slept so late. Ordinarily, she would have been up a lot earlier but, she was up late last night. She was also excited to hear her brother was going with her to Ponyville at least now she wouldn't be as nervous.
Twilight frantically said, "Oh my god, I can't believe I slept in so late. Spike and Mushu get my list out and my backup list. We have to leave right now there is no time to waste."
Spike and Mushu quickly ran out of the room and went to gather the items needed for the day. Meanwhile, Shining was shaking his head at his sister's antics but decided not to say anything. He knew nothing he'd say would calm her down. The two dragons came back into the room and delivered her the two items she requested along with some extra quills and parchment.
Twilight took a deep breath and calmed down now since now she had all the stuff she needed.
Twilight said, "Okay, I'm prepared to go."
Spike said, "Same here and I packed some gems for the trip."
Mushu also said, "Well let's get going we are falling behind as it is."
Twilight nodded in agreement with the red dragon.
Shining Armor smirked slightly before they headed out the door, he had one more thing to tell her, and boy would she be thrilled.
While walking out the door, he then said without turning around, "By the way the Princess is letting you stay in the town library."
He quickly flattened his ears hearing her scream loudly in excitement. They all have now left the house and entered the chariot that immediately took off and headed toward the town of Ponyville. Little did Twilight know she would meet her new friends that would change her life forever.
