It was the second day of rest and Turquoise was busy looking around the shops with Rarity. As they were looking at clothes they ran into someone they met back in Saffron City.

“ Dawn? What are you doing here?” Rarity asked.

“ The contest committee invited me to be a judge for this year’s Grand Festival,” Dawn said.

“ You do know the Grand Festival isn’t for another month right?” Turquoise asked.

“ I know that I’m also watching the Indigo League with some friends from back home,” Dawn said. While they were talking a man with brown hair walked in and approached the group.

“ Hurry up DD Zoey and the others are waiting for you,” The man said.

“ Coming Kenny,” Dawn said.

“DD?” Turquoise asked, confused.

“ A childhood nickname,” Dawn said before saying goodbye to Rarity and Turquoise.





 Sometime later at a nearby Restaurant Dawn and Kenny joined a woman with short orange hair and a woman with black hair tied in braids.

“ Where were you Dawn?” The orange-haired girl asked.

“ I was looking around the shops and ran into Turquoise,” Dawn said.

“ You mean that girl you told us about doing both contests and Gym battles?” the Orange haired girl asked.

“ Yes Zoey I know you don’t approve of trainers who do both,” Dawn said.

“ Now zozo let’s just enjoy our time together,” The black-haired woman pleaded. Dawn and her friends sat together discussing who they think will win the Indigo League this year.





Sometime later Turquoise, Sunset, Twilight, And Rainbow were all gathered in the building where registration was to determine the matchups for the finals. Twilight, Rainbow, and Sunset already got their matchups and now it was Turquoise’s turn.

“ The next trainer will be Turquoise Dusk,” The lady said before handing Turquoise a rod. A few moments later Turquoise got a bite and pulled out a Magikarp with the label A-1 on it. “ A-1 that means your next opponent is going to be. Turquoise’s picture appeared on the screen before moving into a square next to the picture of someone Turquoise has been eager to challenge the whole league.

“ Looks like you will get that rematch you've been waiting for Rick,” Turquoise said.





The next day everyone gathered in the stands to watch the first match of the A Block except for Sunset and Rainbow who were in the B block. In addition to Dawn and her friends, Turquoise’s mom Sylvia and Professor Oak were also in the stands.

“ Ms. Dusk? What brings you and Professor Oak here?” Twilight asked.

“ We came to cheer Turquoise on in person,” Sylvia said.

“ That’s right the folks back in Pallet Town are also watching the match,” Professor Oak said. Sometime later Turquoise and Rick entered the stadium ready to go.

“ I never thought of all the opponents I would face that noob I met on Route 1 would be my first opponent in Indigo Stadium,” Rick said.

“ I am not some noob anymore. I have grown a lot on this journey,” Turquoise said.

“ Then prove it to me in this battle,” Rick said.

“ If both trainers are ready then bring out your pokemon,” The Ref said.

“ Go Scizor,” Rick said as he called out a red humanoid-like creature with wings and metal pincers for hands. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for more info.

“ Scizor. The Pincer Pokemon and the evolved form of Scyther. Bulky pincers account for one-third of Scizor's body weight. A single swing of one of these pincers will crush a boulder completely,” The Pokedex said. After seeing that Scizor was a bug and steel-type Turquoise knew exactly who to use.

“ Go Ninetails,” Turquoise said as Ninetails came out and landed elegantly onto the field.

“ Battle begin,” The Ref said.

“ Scizor use Bullet Punch. Scizor moved as fast as Lightning while pummeling Ninetails with a flurry of orange glowing punches.

“ Ninetails use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her Flamethrower on Scizor who managed to dodge it to everyone’s surprise.

“ Nice try but my Scizor is among one of the Fastest Pokemon I got so your attacks can’t harm him. And on the subject of attacks, Scizor use U-Turn. Scizor charged at Ninetails and after jabbing her with his claw fled back to his Pokeball. The background behind Scizor’s image faded indicating Scizor was still in the battle. “ Go Lycanroc. As soon as Rick's Lycanroc took the field Turquoise immediately knew what to do.

“ Return Ninetails,” Turquoise said as she recalled Ninetails. Turquoise began thinking about what would work best against Lycanroc and suddenly had an idea. “ Go Corviknight. As soon as Corviknight appeared and glistened the battle resumed.

“ Lycanroc use Stealth Rock. Lycanroc pounded his front paw on the ground and managed to embed a bunch of jagged rocks into the battlefield. “ Now use Rock Slide. Lycanroc generated a portal above the battlefield where a bunch of rocks began to rain down from it.

“ Dodge them and use Steel Wing. Corviknight maneuvered around the falling rocks while his wings turned metallic and managed to nail Lycanroc for a massive amount of damage.

“ We are not out yet. Lycanroc use Payback. Lycanroc was covered in dark energy before leaping at Corviknight and unleashing that energy on him with double the power. Both Corviknight and Lycanroc looked like they had taken a sizable amount of damage. “ Now finish this with Stone Edge. Lycanroc pounded his front paw into the ground and caused a bunch of stones to erect out of the ground.

“ We won’t lose to you this time. Corviknight use Brave Bird. Corviknight was covered in fire as he nose-dived before switching to a blue aura after switching to a straight line as he broke through the rocks one by one soon landing a hit on Lycanroc covering the field in a dust cloud. As soon as the dust settled both Corviknight and Lycanroc fainted.

“ Both Corviknight and Lycanroc are unable to battle which means this round is a draw,” The Ref said while crossing his flags.

“ Lycanroc return,” Rick said as he recalled Lycanroc. “ You did a good job setting the field.

“ Corviknight Return,” Turquoise said as she recalled Corviknight. Turquoise waited to see what Pokemon Rick would be using next.

“ Go Nidoking,” Rick said as he called out a big purple creature with a horn of the same color on its head which prompted Turquoise to use her Pokedex.

“ Nidoking. The Drill Pokemon. Nidoking prides itself on its strength. It’s forceful and spirited in battle, making use of its thick tail and diamond-crushing horn,” The Pokedex said. Turquoise wasted no time in making her choice.

“ Go Espeon,” Turquoise said as she called out her Espeon. As soon as Espeon made contact with the field the stealth Rocks damaged her.

“ You fell for my Trap Stealth Rock is a move that will inflict damage as soon as your pokemon come out,” Rick said.

“ No matter we will not give up. Espeon use Psybeam. Espeon fired her Psybeam at Nidoking who just took it.

“ Nidoking use Toxic Spikes. Nidoking unleashed a bunch of caltrops covered in poison which were suddenly reflected by Espeon’s Magic Bounce which shocked Rick. “ Why are the Toxic Spikes on my side?

“ Espeon has the hidden ability magic bounce which redirects all non-damaging attacks back to where they came from,” Turquoise explained.

“ I will still beat you. Nidoking use Megahorn. Nidoking charged at Espeon with an extended horn covered in moss green energy which did not phase Turquoise.

“ Espeon use Psychic on Nidoking. Espeon’s eyes glowed blue as Nidoking was covered in a blue aura before floating off the ground and being slammed into the ground hard with enough power to cause Nidoking to faint.

“ Nidoking is unable to battle Espeon is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.

“ Nidoking return,” Rick said before recalling Nidoking. Rick thought hard and remembered he still had his Scizor which was immune to poison. “ Scizor come back out. Scizor returned to the field unaffected by the Toxic Spikes.

“ Espeon return,” Turquoise said as she recalled Espeon which caused the background of her picture to darken. Turquoise was in a corner now since the only pokemon she had that could possibly beat Scizor was her Ninetails which would end up taking massive damage from the stealth Rock as soon as she came out. “ Go Ninetails. Ninetails came back out and as soon as she landed on the field the stealth Rocks damaged her.

“ Too easy. Scizor use Bullet Punch. Scizor charged at Ninetails fast which she was ready for.

“ Ninetails use Confuse Ray. Ninetails eyes glowed and managed to confuse Scizor who was now beating himself up with his own Bullet Punch. “ Now use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her Flamethrower which managed to hit and caused Scizor to faint.

“ Scizor is unable to battle Ninetails is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.

“ Scizor return,” Rick said as he recalled Scizor. Rick was impressed with how far Turquoise has come but now he was done messing around. “ Go Tyrantrum. As soon as Tyrantrum made contact with the field the Toxic spikes kicked in and poisoned him.

“ Can you keep going Ninetails?” Turquoise asked with Ninetails nodding yes. “ Then use Fire Blast. Ninetails unleashed her Fire Blast which did not faze Rick in the slightest.

“ Tyrantrum use Earthquake. Tyrantrum stomped his foot down hard which caused the ground to shake violently and for Ninetails to take heavy damage which caused her to faint while Tyrantrum also took small damage from the Fire Blast and medium Damage from the poison status.

“ Ninetails is unable to battle Tyrantrum is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his Left flag at Rick.

“ Ninetails return,” Turquoise said while recalling Ninetails. Turquoise knew the poison would finish off Tyrantrum if she either waited long enough or kept chipping away at him and decided who to send in next. “ Go Flygon. As soon as Flygon came out the stealth rocks damaged her but not by much.

“ Tyrantrum use Ice Fang. Tyrantrum charged at Flygon with fangs of ice but Turquoise was ready for it.

“ Flygon use Sand Tomb. Flygon’s eyes glowed blue as Tyrantrum stepped on a pit of quicksand and was soon swallowed up by it and took damage from it. The combination of Sand Tomb and Poison status was enough to cause Tyrantrum to faint.

“ Tyrantrum is unable to battle Flygon is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.

“ Tyrantrum return,” Rick said as he recalled Tyrantrum. Rick knew who to call out next. “ Go Claydol. A floating black statue-like creature with pink eyes all around its head appeared which prompted Turquoise to use her Pokedex to learn about it.

“ Claydol. The Clay Doll Pokemon. It appears to have been born from clay dolls made by ancient people. It uses telekinesis to float and move,” The Pokedex said. Turquoise decided to stick with Flygon since she did not want to risk damaging her remaining pokemon.

“ Claydol start with Rapid Spin. Claydol spun around rapidly while not only causing small damage to Flygon but also sweeping away the Toxic Spikes from Rick’s side of the field. “ Now use Hyper Beam. Claydol charged up a yellow beam before firing it at Flygon.

“ Dodge and use Dragon Rush. Flygon dodged the Hyper Beam and nose-dived at Claydol covered in a dragon-shaped energy field before inflicting a good amount of damage.

“ You think you won this well, think again. Claydol use Dazzling Gleam. Claydol unleashed a blinding light which caused flashbacks for Turquoise. This time Turquoise was not going down that easily.

“ We won’t fall that easily this time. Flygon use Dragon Rush full power. Flygon was covered in the same energy field from before and managed to penetrate the light. Flygon pushed her hardest through the light and managed to make contact with Claydol which resulted in the battlefield being covered in a huge cloud of smoke. As soon as the smoke cleared up both Claydol and Flygon revealed to have fainted.

“ Both Claydol and Flygon are unable to battle this match is a draw,” The Ref said while crossing his flags. Rick pulled out his final Pokeball and threw it.

“ Serperior come on out,” Rick said as Serperior came out and looked as intimidating as ever.

“ Go Zoroark,” Turquoise said as she called out Zoroark.

“ No illusions this time?” Rick asked.

“ Why settle for an illusion when the real deal will be coming out soon,” Turquoise said while Zoroark took damage from Stealth Rock. “ Zoroark, do your best out there. Zoroark smiled while nodding.

“ Serperior use Leaf Storm. Serperior whipped up a massive storm of leaves that was heading towards Zoroark.

“ Zoroark use Detect. Zoroark’s eyes glowed before she dodged the Leaf Storm unscathed. “ Now use Night Daze. Zoroark unleashed her Night Daze which managed to score some decent damage on Serperior.

“ Not bad but not good enough. Serperior use Coil. Serperior coiled himself up which caused his attack,defense, and accuracy to rise up. “ Now use Leaf Blade. Serperior’s tail glowed before turning into a green blade.

“ We won’t lose that easily. Zoroark use Foul Play. Zoroark grabbed Serperior’s tail and slammed the blade into it thus turning its own power agianst it. Despite the great amount of damage Serperior was still standing.

“ Serperior use Leaf Storm. Serperior unleashed his Leaf storm from point blank range which dealt enough damage to Zoroark to cause her to faint.

“ Zoroark is unable to battle serperior is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his left flag at Rick.

“ Zoroark return,” Turquoise said while recalling Zoroark. “ You did awesome out there, now rest.

“ And with that both Rick and Turquoise are down to their last pokemon who will win this exciting battle?” The announcer shouted which got the crowd excited as well.

“ Go Venusaur,” Turquoise said as she sent out Venusaur. As soon as Venusaur landed on the battlefield the stealth Rocks damaged him thus giving Serperior a little handicap. “ Venusaur use Sludge Bomb. Venusaur fired blobs of poison at Serperior which did not faze Rick.

“ Dodge and use Leaf Blade. Serperior slithered around the Sludge Bombs and managed to nail venusaur for a small amount of damage. As both sides kept at it Rick was beginning to feel something he hasn't felt since his journey began. That something he was feeling was the ability to enjoy battling which up to this point he was not doing. As soon as both sides stopped attacking both Serperior and Venusaur were covered in green auras indicating their Overgrow has been activated.

“ Looks like we are evenly matched,” Turquoise said.

“ Time for us to end this,” Rick said.

“ Venusaur,” Turquoise said.

“ Serperior,” Rick said.

“ Use Frenzy Plant,” Turquoise and Rick said at the same time. Both Venusaur and Serperior summoned the roots from their sides of the field and caused them to push against each other. They kept pushing until eventually Venusaur’s roots broke through Serperior’s and caused enough damage to make Serperior faint.

“ Serperior is unable to battle Venusaur is the winner which means Turquoise wins the match,” The Ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise and her picture with the winner icon under it appeared on the jumbotron.

“ And there you have it folks after an intense battle like that Turquoise moves on in the finals,” The Announcer shouted which got the crowd excited.

“ You battled greatly,” Rick said as he recalled Serperior and then looked at Turquoise. “ I must say you really matured as a trainer. Rick was about to leave until Turquoise stopped him.

“ So where are you off to now?” Turquoise asked.

“ After the Indigo League concludes I'm heading back home to decide on my next journey,” Rick said before leaving the stadium.
