My Little Pokémon

Boundless Aptitude

Mega Evolution.

A powerful form of Pokemon evolution that is part of Kalos Region lore.

Some wonder if Mega Evolution might be a kind of test between trainers and Pokemon. There are still to this day, so many questions to be answered.

Is Mega Evolution something that occurs with all Pokemon? Will there ever come a time where all Pokemon are capable of Mega Evolving?

The mystery of these Mega-evolved Pokemon, who unleash dormant powers and change their shapes, which allows them to break their limits and reach new levels of strength and magnificence.

Mega Evolution. One of the many phenomenons that the Pokemon World gifts. But perhaps, there are other phenomenons out there, waiting to be discovered.

Canterlot, Day.

"Gardevoir." Passion was currently looking at the two Mega Stones that allows her to Mega Evolve.

The Gardevoirite.

Ever since she had reached her final evolution, this meant that Passion will now have full access to Mega Gardevoir. What most would consider, the peak of a Gardevoir's strength.

Celestia and Passion already have a powerful bond, so they're already well-equipped to handle the sheer power of Mega Evolution.

"So." Celestia held the Mega Stones up with her magic. "I suppose soon we'll have to test out Mega Evolution for ourselves, wouldn't you say?"

"Garde." Passion nodded.

Celestia placed the two Mega Stones in brand new forms of accessories. Celestia had placed the Gardevoirite in a necklace that could fit Passion and she placed the keystone inside of a hoof ring that goes on her arm.

They meshed well together. They both had that same golden appearance that really compliments the Gardevoirite's colours.

Passion placed the necklace on her neck whilst Celestia put on the hoof ring. The way the sun shined on their accessories gave it a dazzling shine that was close to that of the sun itself.

Now to simply put Mega Evolution to the test. And there was one place where she could get some further information about this amazing Pokemon Phenomenon.

The Pokemon School.

Currently, it was a Wednesday. Everypony there was already in class, learning what they needed to know and do in the future thanks to their stunning Gym Leader Teachers.

Today, they weren't expecting the arrival of Princess Celestia or even the Mega Evolution that was about to occur today in the middle of their classes.

The Sun Princess teleported in front of the door that led to a class being taught by someone who knows quite a lot about Mega Evolution.

Olympia.

Olympia was currently in the midst of teaching Twilight about her potential growth as a Psychic-Type trainer and her Espeon.

Through her own psychic senses, Olympia could sense the presence of another psychic type just behind that door. "You may come in if you wish," Olympia spoke.

"Hm?" Twilight turned her head to the door. "Is somepony there?"

"Sorry if I'm interrupting." Celestia opened up the door, entering inside with Passion and Arcanine.

"Princess Celestia?" Twilight stood up. "Are you here to see my lessons?!" She squeed.

"Actually, Twilight. I'm here for some further knowledge about Mega Evolution. And I heard that Olympia knows more about Mega Evolution than every teacher here."

"That is true." Olympia nodded. "I may not have a Pokemon that is capable of Mega Evolving, but my friend Diantha has given me the necessary knowledge I need if I ever do catch one that can Mega Evolve."

"Then, in that case, I was wondering, can you teach me about Mega Evolution?"

"I can do just that. And I can see that you have the perfect Pokemon for me to teach." Olympia looked over at Gardevoir.

"Oh yeah. Gardevoir is part Psychic." Twilight said.

"Not just that." Olympia walked up to Gardevoir. "My friend Diantha also owns a Gardevoir of her own. One that can Mega Evolve as well. Seeing this Gardevoir reminds me of hers."

"Voir?"

"But there is one important thing to know before you Mega Evolve. Certain Mega Evolutions have a risk that comes with them. Not everything is instantly safe."

"How so?" Celestia asked.

"This does not apply to every single Pokemon, but whenever a Pokemon Mega Evolves, their first experience with all of that power can lead to a prospect of harm."

"Harm? But Fluttershy and Audino used Mega Evolution for the first time and nothing bad happened to them." Twilight said.

"Mega Audino has no drawback to its Mega form. Neither does Mega Gardevoir." Olympia shook her head.

"If Passion has no drawback as a Mega Gardevoir, why tell me this?" Celestia wondered.

"The drawback of your Gardevoir isn't just linked to only Mega Evolution. But something greater than that."

"Something greater?" Celestia's attention was really grabbed by that.

"I had a discussion with Cynthia a while ago that involved Passion actually. Both of us were able to see something special inside of her."

Olympia began reminiscing of the time she and Cynthia talked specifically about Passion in Cynthia's principal room.

"Princess Celestia's Kirlia? What about it?" Olympia said to Cynthia.

"I thought you would've sensed it by now, Olympia. I'm already aware that Princess Celestia and essentially everyone in Equestria knows about Passion's amazing power. How she was able to affect both worlds for being such a small little Kirlia."

"I recall that." Olympia nodded. "To think that she could match the strength of a fully-evolved Gardevoir without even being at her final evolution." She put her hand on her chin. "The potential there is outstanding."

"Outstanding is an understatement." Cynthia stood up. "I believe that Passion might have a larger than life destiny waiting for her. One that is solely exclusive to her and her alone."

"Larger than life destiny you say? How so?"

"That, I don't know. After all, I'm not capable of seeing the future like you. But I do know what she is capable of. Much like how Ash's Infernape was destined for something greater. And Ash helped him reach that goal. The same can be said for Passion. But her path might be different than Infernape's."

"Ah. That reminds me a bit of Greninja. Are you implying that Passion might have something similar?"

"Probably. But we'll have to wait and see. If you ever get the chance, I want you to help Passion and Celestia. Psychic is your speciality after all."

"If Cynthia herself says that your Gardevoir has a larger than life destiny, then you can be assured that is indeed factual."

"Incredible..." Celestia gawked. "But what does it have to do with the supposed drawback."

"It's simple. Your Gardevoir is hiding an outstanding amount of latent and dormant power that has yet to be unleashed. Power so great that it can match that of Legendary Pokemon."

"Oooh!" Twilight shot up, listening in on this. "I knew she was strong but not like that!"

"Espeon!"

"Passion almost destroying both of our worlds was the first major sign of her hidden potential. Not many Pokemon can come close to performing feats such as that. Let alone a small and young Kirlia."

"Passion's mother did say that she was a point one percenter now that I think about it." Celestia also began reminiscing what Passion's mother who was also a Gardevoir said to her.

"What is actually occurring is simple. Kirlia here has managed to somehow obtain the capabilities of a Gardevoir. However, since she's still a Kirlia, her body can't handle all that power. The mind is strong but the body is weak. But, that is to be expected from my daughter. She is a point one percenter after all."

"Point one-percenter?" Twilight questioned.

"You see, for every Pokemon, out of the vast amount of species that exist, one of each Pokemon species is a one of a kind. A special Pokemon if you will. They exceed the normal limitations of what they're capable of. Essentially becoming the best of their entire species. Some even gain unique abilities that are rare to come across. I can already sense one other among you all." Gardevoir pointed over at Pikachu.

"Pika?"

"Ash's Pikachu?" Fluttershy turned to him.

"That's correct. Like my daughter here, that Pikachu is much more powerful than the rest of its kind. A rare find."

"Hear that buddy?" Ash scratched Pikachu's chin.

"Pikachu!"

"A point one-percenter. Passion is one of those many examples according to her mother." Celestia looked over to her partner.

"And she indeed fits that description well. However, this is where the drawback manages to show itself." Olympia's tone suddenly became serious.

"Garde?"

"Passion may be a fully-evolved Gardevoir, however, the one major flaw about special Pokemon is that their power discharge has a greater risk than most Pokemon. A risk that can endanger that lives of both trainer and Pokemon."

"Oh! I know what you mean!" Twilight exclaimed. "Like with Rainbow Dash and her Braviary! At the last match of the Canterlot Tournament, Rainbow Dash pushed herself too hard with Braviary when they used the Bond Phenomenon. It ended up causing them both to faint on the spot!"

"I saw it as well." Celestia nodded. "And I believe you told me that it occurred during the first time she used it, correct?"

"Mhm!" Twilight replied. "And I can safely say that Ash and Greninja experienced the same thing before in the past."

"My, oh my. You two do seem to have your knowledge." Olympia was impressed. "Then you must know that your Gardevoir has yet to really control its true power."

"Garde?" Passion pulled back.

"You may have full control over your plasma, however, there are still many latent abilities you hold that you have to fully grasp. If you cannot control what lies within, your body will reject you. Especially if you tap into the sheer power of Mega Evolution."

"Voir..." Passion shuddered a bit.

"Unstable power must be conquered by the wielder to create perfect harmony. Without it, there is disharmony. You understand, don't you?"

"Yes." Celestia nodded with confidence.

"Hm." Olympia smiled. "Then, in that case, we can begin. If you are to use Mega Evolution, then you must take part in a battle. More specifically, you must battle me."

"Battle you?"

"Garde?"

"Of course. I'm happy to help those who wish to grow stronger after all, especially if it involves a Psychic-Type. Mega Evolution exists for battle. Therefore, it can only be harnessed through battle."

"I understand. What about you, Passion?" Celestia asked her partner.

"Voir." Passion understood clear as day.

"Excellent. Apologies if your lesson has to be cut short, Princess Twilight."

"It's fine. If it involves Princess Celestia then I don't mind." Twilight shook her head.

"Than let us begin."

Canterlot Gardens.

The gardens had essentially become both a sightseeing spot and a battlefield at this point. Because of this, someponies often come by to either see a Pokemon Battle or take part in one.

Olympia stood on the left whilst Celestia stood on the right of the gardens. Twilight and her Espeon sat on the single bench that was always here, spectating the battle for themselves.

Someponies inside the classrooms had noticed Celestia and Olympia outside from the windows, curious as to what they could be doing together.

The royal guards were keeping watch of the area, making sure that nopony interrupts Celestia's important training session. These could be compared to her studies from when she was a little filly.

"I shall use the Pokemon I currently have against your Gardevoir. Does a 3 on 1 sound fair to you, Princess Celestia?" Olympia asked.

"Completely fine. We can handle a 3 on 1."

"Garde!"

"Very well. Olympia took out her first Poke Ball. "I choose you as my first pick! Come out!" Olympia sent out her first Pokemon to battle.

A Sigilyph.

"Sigiliyph!"

"What is that?" Twilight said curiously, using her Pokedex to scan this somewhat hard to look at Pokemon.

"Sigilyph. The Avianoid Pokemon. Psychic power allows these Pokémon to fly. Some say they were the guardians of an ancient city that always flew at the same route while keeping watch for invaders. Others say they were the guardians’ emissaries. A discovery was made in the desert where Sigilyph fly. The ruins of what may have been the ancient city were found beneath the sands."

"A Psychic-Flying-Type? That means Passion's Thunderbolt is a good pick here." Twilight noticed.

"Passion. We'll be going up against a seasoned trainer. Are you feeling a bit nervous?"

"Gardevoir." Passion was honest. She was a bit worried. Trainers who have been battling for years can be intimidating and for good reason. But the Emotion Pokemon was ready as she stepped up to take on the challenge. "Garde!"

"Very good. I can sense the fire burning within your Gardevoir. This will be a good battle. I can tell. Princess Twilight, would you like to be the referee?"

"Hm? Me? Referee?!" Twilight teleported away from the bench, appearing next to Celestia and Olympia. "I would love to! Ahem." Twilight cleared her throat. "Battle start!"

"Sigilyph! Start with Air Slash!"

"Sigil!" The Avianoid Pokemon's body was outlined in a white aura as it released multiple light blue glowing saw disc-like energy blades from its body.

"Passion! Use Mystical Fire!"

"Garde...voir!" The Emotion Pokemon countered the Air Slash by forming a ring of red-orange fire in front of herself, releasing a red-orange stream of fire forward.

The two attacks connected, with Mystical Fire breaking through Air Slash and engulfing it in its crimson flames as Sigilyph gasped.

"Lyph?!" Sigilpyh's body was consumed by the magical flames as an explosion of fire happened afterwards, knocking the Avianoid Pokemon out of the sky. "Sigil!"

"What power..." Olympia's eyes widened. "Sigilpyh! Use Heat Wave!"

"Sig! Sigilyph!" Recovering from Mystical Fire, the Psychic-Flying-Type spun its body around, creating an orange gust of heat that was sent towards the Emotion Pokemon.

"Dodge it and use Thunderbolt!"

"Garde!" Passion narrowed her eyes, focusing on only the gust of heat that was coming her way. With her heightened senses as a Gardevoir, she skipped on the ground, dashing past the Heat Wave.

"Chase her with Heat Wave!"

"Lyph!" Sigilyph moved its body around, causing Heat Wave to follow Passion as the flames were burning away the grass of Canterlot Gardens.

The ponies at the nearest classroom watched through the window as they had the pleasure of spectating this entire battle for themselves.

Meanwhile, Twilight stepped back so that she wouldn't get burned alive by the moving Heat Wave. Passion's speed helped her greatly here. Since she was faster than Sigilyph, she could outrun the Heat Wave without issue.

"Gar!" Passion then put her hands together, creating a bolt of 100,000 volts. She stopped running as she turned around, firing the bolt towards Sigilyph.

Heat Wave and Thunderbolt ended up clashing for a small bit, fighting for dominance over each other. But Passion's Thunderbolt proved to be superior as it broke through the Heat Wave, smiting Sigilyph with 100,000 volts of thunder.

"S-Sigilyph!" Yet again, Sigilyph had been hit by an overwhelming amount of power that far surpassed its own attack as a super-effective hit landed.

However, this time, Sigilyph couldn't recover from this one. Passion's Thunderbolt might even be beyond 100,000 volts. The Avianoid Pokemon was no longer able to stay in the air as it fell to the ground, fainting.

"Sigil..."

"Sigilyph is unable to battle! Passion wins!" Twilight exclaimed.

"Amazing job, Passion!" Celestia congratulated her partner.

"Garde!"

"Outstanding..." Olympia was taken aback by Passion's performance. Two moves and that was it. And Passion had yet to Mega Evolve. She was certainly a promising Pokemon in Olympia's eyes as she returned Sigilyph. "Let's see if you can keep up this streak. Come out, Slowking!"

Up next was the Royal Pokemon Slowking.

"Slow..."

"Stay sharp, Passion! Slowking's intellect is incredible!"

"Voir!" Passion readied herself against her fellow Psychic-Type.

The battle between Olympia and Celestia had quickly gained traction from other ponies, not just from the Pokemon School, but Canterlot as well.

It didn't take long for some of them to enter the Canterlot Gardens, spectating how their princess will battle with her newly evolved Gardevoir.

"Now, Slowking. Disable."

"Slowking." Slowking became outlined in light blue as Passion as well started to glow light blue herself.

"Voir?" Passion looked at herself, wondering what this blue outline meant.

"Use Thunderbolt!"

"Garde...!" If Passion uses one Thunderbolt, Slowking might end up going down in one hit, faster than Sigilyph. However, when Passion tried to summon Thunderbolt, nothing happened. "Gardevoir?"

"Passion? What's wrong?" Celestia tilted her head.

"Gardevoir?" Passion tried shooting Thunderbolt again, but nothing came out. The reason being was that Disable did exactly what its name suggests.

It had disabled Thunderbolt.

"What move is Disable?" Twilight her Pokedex to scan Slowking's moveset as the dex gave her the description on what Disable does.

"Disable. A Normal-Type move. Using a strange power, the user stops the opponent from attacking with moves for a while."

"A move like that exists?!" Twilight screeched. "How is that even fair?!"

"Now, Princess Celestia. Passion. What shall you do?" Olympia asked.

"Hm." Celestia closed her eyes before opening them again. "We don't need moves to battle. Passion! Rush in and attack!"

"I beg your pardon?" Olympia raised an eyebrow.

"Voir!" Instead of using any other moves, Passion instead ran towards Slowking, planning on using her bare fists and legs as a means of attacking.

"Slow?!" Slowking gasped as he knew there was no chance of him avoiding Passion due to his unfortunate speed.

"Gardevoir!" Passion suddenly kicked Slowking in the face, causing the Royal Pokemon's eyes to bulge out as he had a kick mark on his cheek.

"Sl-Slow!"

"Voir!" Passion then gave Slowking a sudden uppercut to his neck, sending the Royal Pokemon up in the air with sheer physical power alone.

"Sweet Celestia!" Twilight gasped as she and everypony else gazed in the sky, seeing Slowking being launched.

"Slowking, quick! Use Shadow Ball!"

"K-King! Slowking!" Slowking, despite its low speed, was capable of recovering midair as he created a ball of shadows with his mind.

"Passion! Grab it!"

A risky move considering Passion's typing, but she took the risk anyway. The Emotion Pokemon held her hand out as she focused on the approaching ball of shadows.

Passion dug her feet firmly on the ground as she had managed to catch the Shadow Ball with her bare hands. "G-Gardevoir!" But since it was a Ghost-Type move, holding it was hurting Passion's hands. "V-Voir!"

"Throw it back!"

"Garde!" Passion's eyes flashed yellow as she pivoted her foot back. With all her current might, the Emotion Pokemon sent the Shadow Ball back at Slowking, creating a shockwave from the force of the throw.

"King?!" The Royal Pokemon, understandably shocked and surprise, had been hit by his own attack as an explosion of darkness could be seen in the sky.

Just like Sigilyph, Slowking had been knocked out of the sky, as that one super-effective Shadow Ball which was originally his own had made him faint.

"Slowking..."

"Slowking is unable to battle! Passion wins! A bit aggressive with those last two attacks..."

And with that, Passion has taken out two of Olympia's Pokemon without even taking any damage whatsoever. Even with her moves being disabled for a while, she could still emerge victorious over her opponent.

This pleased the small crowd of ponies who were cheering Celestia and Passion on for their amazing performance. Olympia returned Slowking, seeing that with how formidable Passion was, Olympia was actually getting a bit nervous.

"Truly a one of a kind Pokemon." Olympia took out her 3rd and last Poke Ball. "Now, Princess Celestia. The time has come for you to unleash Passion's Mega Evolution for the first time."

"Right!" Celestia nodded.

"Let us see just how far Passion can go as I demonstrate my own full power! Meowstic! Come out!" Olympia sent out her final Pokemon.

A female Meowstic.

"Meow!"

"Meowstic?" Twilight took out her dex.

"Meowstic. The Restraint Pokemon. Female Form. Females are a bit more selfish and aggressive than males. If they don’t get what they want, they will torment you with their psychic abilities. If it doesn’t hold back when it unleashes its psychic power, it can tear apart a tanker. Its unfriendliness is part of its charm."

"I would have my other Meowstic assist since that is when I am at my absolute best. But this is a single battle so-"

"Bring the second Meowstic out." Celestia suddenly interrupted.

"Hm?" Olympia's eyes widened.

"I want to challenge you at your absolute best. If both of us are to get stronger as trainer and Pokemon, we need to be able to go up against those who are also giving it their all."

"Such determination." Olympia was stunned by Celestia's drive. For a moment, Olympia could see a bit of Ash inside of Celestia, as if the two of them had many similarities with each other. Olympia smiled after seeing that. "Very well. If you wish to battle against two at the same time, then so be it, Princess. Meowstic! Assist her!"

By tossing her Poke Ball up, the second Meowstic emerged, landing right next to the female one.

"Stic!"

Twilight was curious about the male variant and what it had to offer.

"Meowstic. The Restraint Pokemon. Male Form. Revealing the eyelike patterns on the insides of its ears will unleash its psychic powers. It normally keeps the patterns hidden, however. The defensive instinct of the males is strong. It’s when they’re protecting themselves or their partners that they unleash their full power."

"So it's finally time." Celestia held her hoof out, looking at her hoof ring. Passion did the same holding her necklace up as they both knew that the time had come. "Are you prepared, Passion?"

"Gardevoir." Passion nodded as she herself was ready to tackle Mega Evolution, even if the results are a bit dangerous.

"Keystone. Respond to mine and Passion's heart!" Celestia tapped on the keystone as a golden light dazzled from it. "We'll show just how much we've grown from the start! Mega Evolve!"

The golden light flew into the air as Passion's Mega Stone unleashed azure lights that chased after the golden ones. The two lights collided, connecting as one as they ended becoming one.

Just then, Celestia had noticed that her body was suddenly being outlined in a golden light. Something that has never happened before when a trainer utilizes Mega Evolution.

Passion's body became surrounded in mega energy as she was overflowing with power so great that her aura took up most of Canterlot Garden.

"Garde...VOIR!" With a burst of golden energy, Mega Gardevoir had arrived at last, in all her glory. She was a stunning Pokemon to look at. From her slightly-altered hairstyle to her bridal gown, Mega Gardevoir can only be described as an utter beauty.

And everypony thought so too. Some stallions were even getting all googly-eyed over Mega Gardevoir as if they weren't googly-eyed before when she's just an average Gardevoir. This made most of the mares a bit jealous that they've been outdone by a Pokemon.

"At last. Mega Gardevoir. Can you feel it, Princess Celestia? Passion. The amazing power that flows within?"

"I feel it..." Celestia looked at her body. "But why am I glowing? I've never seen this happen with the other Mega Evolutions I've witnessed."

"That...I actually have no clue." Olympia shook her head. "But perhaps, you will be able to find out once we continue battling."

"Right. Get ready, Passion!"

"Gar!" Passion narrowed her eyes.

"Now! Meowstic! Use Helping Hand and Dark Pulse!"

"Meow!" The male Meowstic stayed completely still whilst the female made some movements by forming a dark purple orb of energy in her hand.

With the male Meowstic using Helping Hand, the female's power had been increased, making Dark Pulse have some extra Oomph to it as beams with black and purple circles were fired.

"Passion! Mystical Fire!"

"Garde...!" Passion put her hands together, gathering up power in her Mega state for the first time. And the difference in power begun to show.

When Passion summoned a sphere of fire in hands, a large aura of flames suddenly surrounded her body as well as Celestia's surprisingly.

This aura of fire acted as a defensive aura as the moment Dark Pulse got near Passion, the fire aura burned it away, shocking the Meowstic's and Olympia.

"Impossible!" Olympia gasped.

"Amazing...It didn't even connect at all." Twilight gawked.

"Voir!" Passion had finally released Mystical Fire as it had more power than ever before. The moment it was released, the speed of it caused a small sonic boom that shattered any nearby windows, burning away the grass itself as well as even affecting everypony around her.

The ponies were heating up as their bodies were sweating uncontrollably from Mystical Fire. It was like the sun itself had been brought to the planet.

"Dodge it!" Olympia managed to keep up with that ludicrous speed along with her Meowstic's.

The two Restraint Pokemon used their cat-like reflexes to flip away from the Mystical Fire. The beam of fire went so far that it left Canterlot, almost hitting a building in the process.

The buildings managed to catch on fire from the aura of Mystical Fire as many ponies ran out of their homes, quickly getting out their Pokemon to put this sudden fire out.

The Mystical Fire broke through the clouds, finally reaching its limit as it faded away in front of a Pidgey that was flying by. Everypony looked in shock and awe as they had just witness Passion perform something so fierce and potent.

And that wasn't even her strongest move.

Olympia looked around, seeing how the Canterlot Gardens had some of its grass burnt away along with the ponies sweating uncontrollably. To say that she was stunned was an understatement.

Celestia was taken aback as well. She never expected Passion to get this strong. "Passion! That Mystical Fire of yours was incredible!"

"Garde..." Passion didn't respond to Celestia as she was suddenly frozen in place, looking at her hands.

"Passion?" Celestia wondered why Passion was so motionless all of a sudden.

"Garde...Garde..." Passion herself had just witnessed how powerful she was and what her future potential might be. She looked around to see how she managed to cause some miniature destruction with just a single Mystical Fire.

Over at the distance, even though Mystical Fire didn't hit the buildings, some of them had actually caught on fire just from Mystical Fire passing by. But luckily, the Water Pokemon dealt with that.

Passion could also feel her power rising, overflowing. Everything that she could do now was beyond what she could've ever dreamt of.

It was so overwhelming that it was actually terrifying for her. So terrifying that she was actually unsure of this newfound power.

"Voir...Gardevoir..." Passion breathed in and out as her face suddenly transformed into one of fear. A fear that can only be linked to her feelings on her own power.

Suddenly, Celestia could feel Passion breathing in and out as her heart was beating at the same rate as her partner, which took Celestia by surprise.

Celestia wasn't sure why she and Passion's hearts were linked but there was one thing the Sun Princess knew from looking at Passion.

She was scared.

Scared of her own power.

The energy overflowing in Passion went beyond the natural limitations of Mega Evolution. It was unstable. So unstable that Passion couldn't control it all.

Mega Evolution, despite being powerful, has its limits. Limits that are too dangerous to be broken, as they can result in further harm to the Pokemon's body.

"G-GARDE!" Her body suddenly became surrounded in a purple aura as the ground beneath her was shaking, causing everypony to wobble and lose their balance.

"P-Passion?!" Celestia gasped.

"GARDEVOIR!" The purple aura around Passion's body had darkened, causing her entire body to become a silhouette. It felt like there was a giant monster rising from the ground due to how aggressive this tremor was.

Passion's eye flashed red instead of its usual purple as Celestia watched her partner be engulfed by this unrecognizable energy.

All of Canterlot was trembling as every lesson in the Pokemon School had been interrupted.

But it didn't stop at Canterlot. It spread across Equestria at a rapid rate, spreading like wildfire. This was similar to how Passion had a power overload when she was still a Kirlia.

Celestia shuddered as she witnessed her partner started hovering mid-air with this aura increasing in intensity. It looked like it would go on forever, but eventually, the aura faded away along with Passion's Mega Evolution as she returned to normal.

"Gardevoir..." Passion got on her knees as Canterlot stopped trembling.

"Passion!" Celestia ran over to her partner. "Are you alright?!"

"Gardevoir." She shuddered.

"I see...Meowstic. Return." Olympia returned her two Meowstic's as she approached Passion and Celestia. "That was just the first example of wielding unstable power."

"I can see that..." Celestia helped Passion up.

"G-Gardevoir." Passion took off her necklace, tossing it and the Mega Stone on the ground. "Voir!" She backed away from the necklace and stone, sitting down as she huddled her knees together, shaking uncontrollably.

"P-Passion."

"Gardevoir...!" That one experience with Mega Evolution had truly left an impact on her. From just one single move, she endangered all of Equestria, just like how she did before as a Kirlia.

Passion thought that now that she was a Gardevoir, she could have better control over her tremendous power. But it turns out, that wasn't the case.

Celestia looked over at the Mega Stone and necklace as she realized why Passion threw them down and what she was feeling right now.

Passion was terrified of Mega Evolution.

But worse. She might be terrified of what lies beyond Mega Evolution if she ever reaches that point. Celestia picked up the necklace and stone, knowing that these two objects were most likely never going to be put on Passion's neck for a while now.

"Passion..." Celestia went up to her shuddering partner. "Are you terrified of Mega Evolution?"

"Voir..." Passion whimpered. She spoke with Celestia with telepathy, telling her that she almost harmed everypony with just one move. If she had continued battling, who knows what could've happened next?

She also told Celestia that she felt an ominous power fill her body. As if there was something dangerous lurking inside of her that was waiting to come out.

This ominous power was the cause behind the tremor that spread across Equestria. And Passion could tell that it might've taken her over as in that one moment when her eyes flashed red, she felt a sudden instinct that she couldn't describe.

Passion lowered her head, feeling a bit guilty until Celestia suddenly hugged her. "Gardevoir?"

"It's fine now, Passion. You're safe now." Celestia reassured her partner as Passion hugged her back.

"I believe this is where our training ends," Olympia said. "Princess Celestia. It seems that I have underestimated Passion's true capabilities. From what I saw at that moment, a terrifying power dwells within her."

"Terrifying?"

"A power that is the complete antithesis to Passion. One that goes against Passion's natural loving nature. Whatever is lurking within her, I fear that if Passion were to Mega Evolve once more, that strange power might be truly unleashed."

"Gardevoir." The worried Emotion Pokemon looked up at Olympia then back at her necklace and stone. Olympia was right. Passion didn't feel like herself back there and she didn't want whatever horrible force was lurking within her to come out.

"We'll control it." Celestia suddenly replied.

"Hm?"

"I may not know what this unknown power is but...If my centuries of experience with magic has taught me something, is that what seems to be uncontrollable can be controlled."

"Voir? She looked up at her partner.

"If we can overcome your power overload when you were a Kirlia, we can definitely do the same as a Gardevoir." Celestia let out a reassuring smile.

That's all Passion needed to see. The heart on Passion's chest reacted to Celestia's emotions as she let out a smile as well. She had absolute faith in her partner, but she still was terrified of Mega Evolution at the moment.

"Good." Olympia nodded. "That is what a bond between a trainer and a Pokemon looks like. I hope to see you two eventually overcome that power and make it your own."

"We shall!" Celestia stood up, nodding.

"Gardevoir!"

An unexpected flow of power that Passion had never thought to possess has now been seen by Celestia, Olympia and Twilight.

A power that was so terrifying that it could make Passion lose absolute control. But with Celestia being by her side, the Emotion Pokemon and her have a new goal to achieve and conquer as the journey continues.

Chapter 291 End.
