Flash Sentry woke up in his Auradon dormitory, with Ben. “Hey, Ben.” he said.
“Flash, we have to stop Sunset!” cried Ben.
Flash was facing the window, tears glistening in his royal blue eyes. “What’s wrong?” asked Ben.
Flash turned to him. “Sunset. I was going to propose to her on the yacht at Cotillion.”
He returned staring out of the window, thinking.
Flash met Sunset at the top of the stairs, before heading onto the ship. He held her hand. Together, they walked down, onto the deck, where they were met by Evie, Jay and Carlos.
“How you feeling?” asked Applejack. “Ah heard ya passed out.”
“I did.” she said. “I only passed out because I realised what I had done. Demon Shimmer spoke to me while fighting.”
“Oh dear,” said Twilight. “Midnight still talks to me.”
“You feeling okay?” asked Applejack. “I sure hope you are. Cause if ya do feel faint... then just let us know.”
Sunset nodded. “Sure.”
They watched Mal, Ben and Uma come down. And Jane told Lumiere to reveal Ben’s masterpiece.
“No. No. NO!” shouted Uma, angrily. “What about me?!”
Sunset shot Uma a look of warning. Ben gave her his ring. Mal went right up to him and kissed him.
Uma growled, before jumping into the sea.
“NO!” cried Sunset, as the water splashed over everyone, including her. Water kills her.
Sunset couldn’t bear the pain. It was like her skin was peeling off, burning. “No, Uma!”
Mal’s eyes glowed green, as she swayed side to side, trying to balance. Mal rose up, purple smoke rising, as she turned into a dragon.
She was weakening, slowly. The pain was too great. She couldn’t even stand up.
Flash grasped her arm, well, what was left of her.
Sunset collapsed. Her eyes fluttered closed. “Flash.” she said. “I love you.”
Those were her last words before she died.
“No.” said Flash, sobbing. “No, please. Come back. I- I love you too.”
It was like Flash had lost a part of himself when she died. Like a part of his personality died, inactive, asleep. Whatever.
He had to defeat her, bring her back to life.
Because for the first time in his life, what is love?
