It was a sunny and calm afternoon in Ponyville, Twilight was lying on her bed, reading a new edition of Daring Do. She could feel the sun’s rays on her, allowing her to read the written words more clearly, but her reading was interrupted by feeling somepony else in bed with her and a head lovingly caressing her neck. Her cheeks soon became pink from that affection, she knew very well who was giving her affection.
“Moony, could you stop this, please?” Twilight asked politely, now looking at the black mare.
“Why should I stop, Twilight? Don’t you like that?” asked Nightmare Moon with a seductive smile.
“Don’t get me wrong, Moony. I like affection like any marefriend, but I happen to be busy reading, and I would appreciate it if you didn’t interrupt me,” Twilight replied, before returning to read her book.
Nightmare Moon did not seem happy with the response she received, but she soon returned to smile and caress Twilight. “Why don’t you put that book down for a while? Your princess wants attention.”
Twilight let out a small breath and looked at Nightmare Moon. “Look, Moony. I fully understand your need for attention, but it turns out that this book is a new book published by A.K. Yearling, and I would like to read this book.”
“But you’ve been ignoring your princess since this morning!” Nightmare Moon argued not at all happy, now stopping with the affection.
“I know, but I Pinkie Promise that after I finish reading my new book I will give you attention. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” Twilight made the Pinkie Promise to Nightmare Moon, before reading her book again.
The black alicorn growled at the response she received, she couldn’t take it anymore. She wanted to get Twilight’s attention right now, but the purple unicorn didn’t want her at the moment. Putting her hoof to her chin, Nightmare Moon started to think of a way to get Twilight to pay attention to her. Nightmare Moon had been defeated and reformed by the Elements of Harmony at the hooves of Twilight and her friends, returning Princess Luna to her sister while separating Luna from Nightmare Moon. But if there was one thing Nightmare Moon just couldn’t stand, it was ponies ignoring her. And Twilight Sparkle made a big mistake by doing that very thing Nightmare Moon couldn’t stand. An idea soon came to the black alicorn’s mind, one that made her chuckle to herself. She looked at Twilight, an evil smile on her face.
“My dear Twilight, you have made a big mistake by ignoring me,” she said.
Twilight stopped reading her book and looked at Nightmare Moon in a confused way. “What do you mean I made a big mistake by ignoring you? I already said that I will give you attention after reading my new book.”
“It doesn’t matter. You’ve been ignoring your princess since this morning, and I’m not happy with your lack of affection,” said Nightmare Moon in an unhappy tone. Twilight could feel nervousness take over her with the words and tone of the black alicorn.
“What are you going to do?” She asked. Nightmare Moon returned to smile wickedly.
“Something that will make you pay attention to me.”
Twilight’s pupils decreased with Nightmare Moon’s words, she knew very well what the black alicorn was talking about. “You wouldn’t dare...”
“Oh, yes, I would...” said Nightmare Moon.
Twilight carried her magic, prepared to get the alicorn out of bed. “Don’t think about it! I want to read my book!”
“... You will receive cuddles from your princess!” Nightmare Moon ended her sentence, wrapping Twilight in a comforting hug. The pink magic disappeared from Twilight’s horn and she struggled to get out of the embrace.
“Let go of me, Moony!” Twilight asked between her debating.
“No,” Nightmare Moon replied simply. Twilight didn’t know what to do about it, she wanted to read her book, but the black alicorn wouldn’t let her.
“When are you going to let me read my new book?” asked Twilight, wanting to know when Nightmare Moon would release her from the embrace.
Nightmare Moon looked at her with an evil smile and whispered in the purple unicorn’s ear, “Never.” Twilight’s pupils dilate with the response received. “The cuddles ... Will last ... Forever!” She started to laugh wildly.
“No!” shouted Twilight, panicking. She couldn’t believe what she heard, and that was bad, because she wouldn’t be able to read her new book this afternoon! She was struggling to get out of the embrace, but it was failing.
“There’s no use fighting, Twilight Sparkle. You may even have been able to defeat me with the Elements of Harmony and redeem me, but you will never be able to escape my hugs!” said Nightmare Moon, before letting out a crazy laugh.
When she stopped laughing, Nightmare Moon started giving nuzzles in Twilight’s ears, resulting in Twilight stop fighting and a pink flush appear on her cheeks for the affection she received. She looked at Twilight to see if the unicorn was enjoying it and noticed a pink flush on her face. She couldn’t help but agree that Twilight was cute when she blushed.
“You are enjoying this, aren’t you?” asked Nightmare Moon with a smile.
Twilight’s ears perked up and her eyes opened when she heard the question. She looked sheepishly at the black alicorn and said, “Y-yes, Moony…”
Nightmare Moon smiled even more at the way Twilight answered her question. Even when Twilight talked to her when she was shy, she was cute. She then continued with the nuzzles.
An hour later, Nightmare Moon stopped with the nuzzles, placed Twilight’s book on a side table, lay down on the bed with Twilight and closed her eyes, now Twilight, was still with her eyes open and began to reflect on what was happening. She never imagined that her reading session would be replaced by a cuddles session, but she was even enjoying how her afternoon was going, even if it meant she couldn’t read her new book today. With a smile, she returned the hug with the two front hooves and closed her eyes too.
After two minutes, Nightmare Moon felt a hoof caress her cheek sweetly. She didn’t have to guess to know that it was Twilight who caressed her. Nightmare Moon looked at Twilight and noticed the sweet smile on the unicorn’s face, she couldn’t help but smile back, knowing that the purple unicorn was paying attention to her now, unlike a few hours ago, when Twilight was focused on the book.
After five minutes, Twilight stopped stroking Nightmare Moon on the cheek, but now, it was Nightmare Moon that stroked Twilight on the cheek. Twilight couldn’t help but blush and look to the right with a smile at the affection returned.
After twenty minutes, they stopped stroking each other, closed their eyes and went back to relaxing in the loving embrace with smiles on their faces, but they smiled for different reasons: Nightmare Moon smiled because Twilight was paying attention to her, while Twilight was because she was loving spend that afternoon cuddled with Nightmare Moon.
After an hour, Nightmare Moon decided to take the dark blue blanket with stars and moon design from the bed with her turquoise magic to cover her and Twilight up to their necks. Both still involved in the embrace, snuggled into the cozy blanket.
“This blanket is so warm…” said Twilight in a relaxing tone.
“Do you feel comfortable?” asked the black alicorn, looking at Twilight.
Twilight looked at Nightmare Moon and said, “Yes, Moony.”
Nightmare Moon smiled at the response and started lovingly stroking the mane of Twilight. “I’m glad you’re comfortable.”
After a few hours snuggled in the blanket, their eyelids became heavy, they yawned and fell into a peaceful sleep.
Two hours passed, the moon had risen on the horizon, the stars were already in the sky and the two mares were still sleeping peacefully in bed. Nightmare Moon was the first to wake up and then it was Twilight.
“Good night, my dear,” Nightmare Moon greeted the mare she loved with a loving kiss on the forehead.
“Good night, Moony,” Twilight greeted Nightmare Moon back, but without giving a kiss on Nightmare’s forehead.
“Sleep well?”
“Yes, because I was hugging the mare I love,” Twilight replied sweetly, making Nightmare Moon look to the left and blush. “What about you?”
“Me too,” Nightmare Moon replied, now looking at Twilight, no longer flushed. “What did you think of our afternoon cuddled in bed?”
“I loved. Thank you for making this afternoon more enjoyable, Moony,” said Twilight with a sweet smile. She was happy to have Nightmare Moon as a marefriend. What other mare and stallion would have the same idea of cuddle her in the afternoon? Perhaps some, but for sure, the cuddles would not be as loving and comfortable as of her marefriend.
“You’re welcome, Twilight, and I’m glad you loved it,” said Nightmare Moon with a loving smile, now tenderly stroking Twilight’s mane. Twilight closed her eyes when she felt Nightmare Moon’s hooves on her mane.
“And I believe you also loved spending an afternoon cuddling in bed, am I right?” asked Twilight, as soon as Nightmare Moon stopped stroking her mane.
Nightmare Moon nodded. “Yes, mainly because you gave me attention, but also because I hugged the one I love the most for an entire afternoon.”
Twilight couldn’t help but smile at the sweet words of the black alicorn. This was certainly a very pleasant and cuddly afternoon for both. Of course, it wasn’t like the purple unicorn planned in the beginning, but she even liked the fact that her afternoon didn’t go as she expected, mainly because she spent an entire afternoon cuddled in bed with her marefriend.
