Turquoise has been training with both her Pokemon and her friends for the past couple of weeks and with only one day left before the Indigo League began she and her friends were on their way to the Indigo Plateau. As soon as they arrived in Viridian City they ran into Ash and Serena.

“ So good to see you, girls, again,” Serena said.

“ Where are you off to?” Ash asked.

“ To the Indigo Plateau if we can find it,” Rainbow said before Ash pointed towards the west side entrance of the city.

“ Follow that path over there and it should take you to Victory Road which will take you to the Indigo Plateau,” Ash said.

“ Thanks,” Turquoise said before she and her friends left for the western entrance. As soon as the girls reached Route 22 a bunch of trainers doing some last-minute training challenged them. After fighting their way through a gauntlet of trainers the girls made it to the entrance to Victory Road. Fluttershy decided to use this time to heal everyone’s pokemon while Applejack began cooking up lunch for everyone. As soon as lunch was ready A familiar face Twilight and the others recognized approached their campsite.

“ Do you girls have room for one more?” A girl with red and yellow hair and green eyes wearing a leather jacket and a light green trainer outfit asked.

“ Sunset it’s so good to see you,” Twilight said.

“ Do you girls know her?” Turquoise asked.

“ Of course we do, Sunset is one of our friends from back home,” Rainbow said.

“ Pleasure to meet you Sunset,” Turquoise said.

“ You must be Turquoise. A pleasure to meet you too,” Sunset said.

“ So what brings you here Sunset?” Pinkie asked.

“ I’m on my way to the Indigo League,” Sunset said.

“ Does that mean?” Twilight asked.

“ I have more than eight badges,” Sunset said while showing everyone her badge case which had ten badges.

“ You have ten badges, I thought you could only have eight?” Turquoise said.

“ Eight is the required amount you need to qualify for the league there is no rule saying you can stop there,” Sunset said.

“ In any case have you caught any good Pokemon?” Twilight asked.

“ I have but you will have to wait until the league to see them,” Sunset said. Meanwhile hidden in the bushes were Isabelle and Chris who were also known as the only two members of Team Supernova left.

“ Those Dorkettes are going to pay for shutting Team Supernova down,” Isabelle said.





A couple of months earlier after Turquoise and her Zoroark sent Isabelle and Chris along with their Houndoom and Mightyena flying they ended up crashing through the roof of a fancy restaurant in Celadon City which resulted in a ton of property damage and injuries to the staff. The owner who was a big guy in a suit burst through the wall and looked so angry he was close to popping a blood vessel.

“ Do you two morons realize what you did. You not only destroyed my Restaurant, you also injured my wait staff. The damage and medical costs are very steep so you two will be working off the damage for the next two months,” The owner shouted before having them start by sweeping up the debris and broken glass.





“ We will never forgive them for that or for putting us out of a job,” Chris said. As soon as Turquoise and the girls packed up and entered Victory Road Isabelle and Chris followed them from a distance. After thirty minutes of walking through the tunnel known as Victory Road, the girls arrived in front of Indigo Stadium.

“ I don’t know about you three but I can’t wait to battle in that stadium,” Rainbow said with excitement.

“ Let’s just focus on registering first ok,” Twilight said. As they kept walking they saw what looked like an old man talking to Officer Jenny.

“ Excuse me, sir,” Twilight said.

“ What can I do for you younglings?” The man asked.

“ Can you tell us where registration for the Indigo League is?” Twilight asked.

“ Registration is in that building over there,” The man said while pointing to a building not too far from their current position. “ And you’re in luck, registration just opened up. After thanking the old man Turquoise, Twilight, Rainbow, And Sunset raced each other to see who would make it to the desk first.

“ Wait up you four,” Applejack shouted before she and the rest of the girls tried to catch up to them.

“ Ah to be young again,” The old man said before one of the league officials came up to him.

“ Mr. Goodshow I’m afraid we have a problem,” The Official said.

“ What is it?” Goodshow asked.

“ The torchbearer for the final leg ended up twisting his ankle after falling down the stairs during practice,” The official said which caused Goodshow to look flustered.

“ This is bad. Where are we going to find a replacement on such short notice? The Opening Ceremony is tonight and we can’t start the league without Moltres’s Flame,” Goodshow said before Officer Jenny asked him to calm down.

“ We can just ask one of those girls to fill in. The rainbow-haired one looks like a good runner,” Jenny said.

“ I agree,” Goodshow said.





Meanwhile, inside the stadium, Isabell and Chris hid inside a broom closet to don their disguises and blended in with the stadium staff.

“ Just you wait Dorkette, all your Pokemon will be ours soon,” Isabelle said before she and Chris acted like normal concession workers.





Meanwhile inside the main building Rainbow, Twilight and Sunset all registered and now it was Turquoise’s turn. Turquoise presented her badge case and Pokedex. After both of them were scanned Turquoise was officially registered.

“ Now let’s decide which field you will be starting on for the Preliminary Rounds,” The lady said before having Turquoise press a button that spun a wheel with four symbols which consisted of a snowflake, a water droplet, a leaf, and a stone. After spinning for a while the wheel landed on the Snowflake. “ Looks like your first match will be on the Ice Battlefield.

“ So who will be my first opponent?” Turquoise asked.

“ Just a sec,” The lady said before looking it up. “ Your first match is against Zane at 2 in the afternoon tomorrow.

“ Let’s all try and make it to the finals,” Sunset said. The girls spent most of the day exploring the village until the time for the opening Ceremony. As the girls were on their way to Indigo Stadium Mr. Goodshow approached them.

“ Which one of you is Rainbow Dash?” Goodshow asked.

“ That would be me,” Rainbow said.

“ One of our torchbearers is injured and unable to run. How would you like to fill in for them?” Goodshow asked.

“ Me? do it. are you sure?” Rainbow asked.

“ Go for it Rainbow. Being a Torchbearer is quite an honor,” Sunset said.

“ Than I’m in,” Rainbow said.

“ Thank you, Rainbow. You saved the League by doing this,” Goodshow said. Sometime later Turquoise, Twilight, And Sunset were standing in the center of the stadium with the other trainers competing in the Indigo League while the others were in the stands to observe the opening ceremony. Before the running of the torch began Mr. Goodshow stood in front of the altar for the flame to address the trainers.

“ Ladies, Gentlemen, And trainers both old and new. Welcome to the Indigo League. For those of you who don’t know me. I’m the League President Charles Goodshow. As most of you know every year we light the ceremonial torch with the flame of Moltres as a symbol of this competition and as an oath of sportsmanship between all 256 trainers competing in the League,” Goodshow said before signaling for the first Torchbearer to run. The monitors in the stadium kept track of the runners and as soon as Rainbow entered the stadium with the torch the monitors turned off and the spotlights shined on Rainbow as she descended the stairs and lit the flame. “ And with the League flame now lit I declare the Indigo League officially open. The stadium erupted with applause as everyone left to rest up for tomorrow’s matches.





The next day Turquoise and the others were gathered in the stands watching Sunset’s match on the Grass battlefield. The matches were three on three battles with substitutions allowed. Both Sunset and her Opponent were down to their final Pokemon.

“ Blaziken come on out,” Sunset’s opponent who was a woman with long jet black hair wearing a shrine maiden’s outfit said as her Blaziken came out.

“ Time for my partner to end this. Inteleon I chose you,” Sunset said as she called out her pokemon which was a tall blue lizard-like creature with yellow frills and a cool expression on its face. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for more info.

“ Inteleon. The Secret Agent Pokemon. It has many hidden capabilities, such as fingertips that can shoot water and a membrane on its back that it can use to glide through the air,” The Pokedex said.

“ This should be interesting. Blaziken use Blaze Kick. Blaziken leaped into the air before setting its foot on fire.

“ That won’t work on us. Inteleon use Snipe Shot. Inteleon pointed its finger at Blaziken before firing a bullet made of water which nailed Blaziken for enough damage to knock it out since it was a critical hit.

“ Blaziken is unable to battle. Inteleon is the winner which means Sunset wins the match,” The ref said while pointing his right flag at Sunset.

“ And there you have it folks Sunset makes it past her first match,” The announcer shouted as the crowd went wild and Sunset’s picture with a winner icon beneath it appeared on the jumbotron. As soon as Sunset recalled her Pokemon She joined the others.

“ Looks like your next Turquoise,” Sunset said while they all walked towards the Ice Battlefield. As soon as they got there a lady at a desk had Turquoise register the three pokemon she would be using for the match. Turquoise considered what kind of pokemon she would be facing on an Ice Battlefield and made her choices. As soon as she finished Turquoise left for the locker room while the others left for the stands to watch. As soon as it was time for the match the Announcer spoke.

“ Now it is time for the afternoon matches here on the Ice Battlefield so first up all the way from Pallet Town is Turquoise Dusk,” The announcer said as Turquoise walked on to her side of the battlefield which was covered in a sheet of ice with ice rocks and icicles. And her opponent all the way from Sunnyshore City in the Sinnoh Region is Zane. A man with a long black coat and boots with blue hair walked onto his side of the field looking intimidating.

“ So you’re the first one I’m taking out of this tournament,” Zane said.

“ That’s my line,” Turquoise said.

“ Before we begin, allow me to explain the rules for those of you who are new here. The Preliminary matches are three on three matches with both sides allowed to substitute their pokemon and the battle ends when all three of one side’s pokemon are unable to battle,” The Announcer said.

“ Let the battle begin,” The Ref said.

“ Lycanroc let's go, “Zane said as he called out a wolf-like pokemon with brown and white fur with blue eyes and four sharp rocks around its neck. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for this one.

“ Lycanroc Midday form. The Wolf Pokemon. With swift movements, this Pokémon gradually backs its prey into a corner. Lycanroc's fangs are always aimed toward opponents' weak spots,” The Pokedex said.

“ In that case. Lucario come on out,” Turquoise said as she called out her Lucario who looked ready to rock.

“ Lucario use Force Palm. Lucario charged forward, ready to send Lycanroc flying until Zane reacted.

“ Lycanroc use Sucker Punch. Lycanroc swiftly dodged the Force Palm and countered with a powerful head butt that pushed Lucario back and sent him sliding on the ice since he had no traction. “ Your Lucario may have the type advantage but my Lycanroc has a field advantage.

“ What are you getting at?” Turquoise asked until it suddenly hit her.

“ That’s right we are fighting on an Ice Field. You see your Locario is having a hard time moving around by standing on its tiptoes. But my Lycanroc has claws which he can use to dig into the ice,” Zane said.

“ Lucario use Aura Sphere. Lucario focused his power and just when he was about to launch his attack he slipped and caused it to fly upward.

“ See what I mean. Lycanroc use Stone Edge. Lycanroc unleashed pillars of stone by slamming his front paws into the ice and just when it looked like the last one was about to hit Lucario the Aura Sphere managed to destroy it which sent Lucario back a few feet.

“ Lucario return,” Turquoise said as she recalled Lucario which caused the red background but not the image of Lucario on the jumbotron to turn gray meaning Lucario was still in the match.

“ What is Turquoise doing? Lucario had the advantage,” Rainbow said.

“ If you're going by type maybe but Lucario can’t maneuver around on the ice so she is adjusting her strategy,” Sunset said.

“ But what else does Turquoise have that can beat a Rock-Type?” Rainbow asked.

“ Let’s just watch and see,” Twilight said.

“ Venusaur come on out,” Turquoise said as her Venusaur not only landed on the ice leaving a small fracture he also shook it and knocked Lycanroc off balance.

“ Like that will beat us. Lycanroc use Fire Fang. Lycanroc leaped at Venusaur with his mouth full of fire which Turquoise was expecting.

“ I thought you would try that. Venusaur use Petal Blizzard. Venusaur unleashed a powerful Blizzard of Petals that managed to deal a massive amount of damage to Lycanroc thus knocking him out.

“ Lycanroc is unable to battle. Venusaur is the winner,” The Ref said as he pointed his right flag at Turquoise.

“ See I told you Turquoise knew what she was doing,” Twilight said.

“ I see. She knew if she could not go to Lycanroc then she would trick Lycanroc into coming to her,” Sunset said.

“ Not to mention with that big body of Venusaur’s he was able to anchor himself in place,” Twilight added.

“ Lycanroc return,” Zane said as he recalled Lycanroc which caused the background to turn gray while Lycanroc’s picture became a silhouette. “ You may have defeated one of my Pokemon but let's see you handle this next one. Sandslash Let’s Go. A blue and white armadillo-like creature with spines that looked like icicles and hooked claws appeared. Turquoise pulled her Pokedex out again.

“ Sandslash Alolan Form. The Mouse Pokemon. It uses large, hooked claws to cut a path through deep snow as it runs. On snowy mountains, this Sandslash is faster than any other Pokémon,” The Pokedex said.

“ In that case return Venusaur,” Turquoise said as she recalled Venusaur which resulted in the background behind his picture turning gray. Turquoise knew whoever she was facing would most likely use an Ice-Type and pulled out her third Pokeball. “ Ninetails Come on out. As soon as Ninetails came out she not only unleashed her Drought Ability she also managed to maintain her balance on the ice.

“ You will never learn, will you. Sandslash use Iron Head. Sandslash slid across the ice with a head made of iron.

“ Ninetails use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her Flamethrower which not only knocked Sand Slash out but also thawed the ice out a little.

“ Sandslash is unable to battle. Ninetails is the winner,” The Ref said as he pointed his right flag at Turquoise.

“ Sandslash return,” Zane said before recalling Sandslash and sending out his third Pokemon reluctantly since he had no choice. “ Froslass Let’s Go. Zane sent out his Froslass while Turquoise stuck with her Ninetails. “ Froslass use Ice Shard. Froslass fired her Ice shard which did not faze Turquoise in the slightest.

“ Weak. Ninetails use Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her Flamethrower expecting to win in a single move again only to be disappointed.

“ I won’t lose that easily. Froslass use Double Team. Froslass split into multiple clones which also did not faze Turquoise.

“ Nice try but that trick won’t work on me. Ninetails switch to Fire Blast. Ninetails Flamethrower suddenly turned into Fire Blast and not only wiped out all the clones but the real Froslass as well.

“ Froslass is unable to battle. Ninetails is the winner. Which means Turquoise wins the match,” The Ref said as Turquoise’s picture with the winner icon beneath it appeared on the jumbotron.

“ And Turquoise moves on to day two of the preliminary rounds,” The announcer said as Turquoise recalled her Ninetails and met up with her friends.

“ That was an awesome battle,” Rainbow said.

“ I’ll say you didn't lose a single Pokemon,” Twilight said. Twilight and Rainbow managed to win their matches as well and before returning to their rooms all four of the girls were required to report to the reception desk to find out which battlefield they will be competing on tomorrow. Turquoise got water, Rainbow got grass, Sunset got Ice, and Twilight got rock. The girls were all surprised to see that their matches were scheduled for the same time. Regardless of that everyone turned in for the night.
