It’s the 13th of February, and you know what that means, It’s Hearts and Hooves eve, and all around town, people were getting restless, men were running around town like crazy animals searching for the perfect gift; women rushed to the nearest hair salon, spa, or clothing boutique to get ready for tomorrow and look stunning to their dates; teens were also all over the place, male teens (who had girlfriends/boyfriends) kept going from store to store to buy gifts and chocolates, while the single ones… well, they were doing some sort of ritual to help them obtain a girlfriend or at least a gift.
Anyway, we head over to the Cutie Mark Crusaders base; while on the outside it seemed perfectly quiet, the inside was a ticking time bomb.
“Girls?!... Girls?!!!... GIRLS!!!!” screamed Scootaloo
After hearing this Applebloom and Sweetie Belle dropped down from their cloud nine’s and looked at Scootaloo
“Sorry Scoots… you were saying?” said Apple bloom
“I was asking you if you had any ideas on what else we could do to earn our Cutie marks… but I can tell you weren’t listening,” said Scootaloo
“Sorry, It’s just, I haven’t bought Button Mash any gift yet, and I’m running out of time,” said Sweetie Belle
“I’m on the same boat… except that I am between 2 options… A new book or a Jacket,” said Apple bloom
“A BOOK OR A JACKET?!!! ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE HIM BREAK UP WITH YOU?!!!” said Sweetie Belle
“FYI, FEATHERWEIGHT ISN’T THE TYPE OF GUY TO CARE ABOUT THE PRICE TAG ON A PRESENT, HE CARES THAT IT COMES FROM THE HEART!!” said Apple Bloom
And then a full-blown argument insured, meanwhile, Scootaloo looked at her 2 friends as they kept going on and on about who had the best boyfriend… that was until she had enough.
“You 2 really care about that crap?” said Scootaloo
This comment stopped her 2 friends just as they were going to start throwing punches
“OF COURSE WE CARE!!!” they both yelled
“But, why? It’s not like, killing yourselves over a dumb gift is going to make them propose to you,” said Scootaloo
The 2 friends looked at each other and then looked at Scootaloo
“Well, I wouldn’t go that far, as to say marriage, but, it’s symbolic, I mean, wouldn’t you like to receive a gift from the person you love?” asked Apple Bloom
At the mention of this Scootaloo went silent and started to look depressed
Her friends quickly caught up to this fact
“Scoots… did something happen between you and Rumble?” asked Sweetie Belle
“WHAT?!!! NO!!! NOTHING WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN BETWEEN THE 2 OF US… WHY DO YOU EVEN THINK THAT IS A POSSIBILITY?!!!” said Scootaloo
“But… didn’t you ask him out?” asked Apple Bloom
When Scootaloo went silent again, they knew something was up
“DID HE TURN YOU DOWN?!!!!” they both asked at the same time
“What? No!... I never even asked him anyway,” said Scootaloo, the last part barely louder than a whisper
“YOU WHAT?!!!!!” they both said
“Scoots, we had a promise!” said Apple Bloom
“You said, you were going to ask him out, a while ago,” said Sweetie Belle
“And I was… but… then I started to doubt… and I decided to let it go and forget about it,” said Scootaloo
“So, you mean to say, that YOU, Scootaloo, chickens out from something?” said Apple Bloom
“It’s just that… I… I still don’t know what I actually feel for Rumble, I mean, I think he is cool and very handsome… but I don’t know if this is Love or Lust… and I don’t want to do something stupid.
“Seems to me like you are afraid of rejection,” said Sweetie Belle
“Of course not, why should I fear that,” said Scootaloo, trying to act tough
“Well, Love or Lust, you have to be ready to confess your feelings, running away is not going to make you feel any better,” said Sweetie Belle
“Yeah, cause you did exactly that,” said Scootaloo
“Well, unlike you, I have a boyfriend,” said Sweetie Belle
“But you never told Spike what you felt for him, so how can you sit there and tell me what I have to do,” said Scootaloo
“I didn’t tell Spike what I felt, because it was too late for me, he had already gone all the way with my sister, not to mention, he knocked her up,” said Sweetie Belle
“Oh, so that’s why you are so desperate,” said Apple Bloom
“Desperate for what?” asked Sweetie Belle
“To go all the way with Button Mash,” said Apple Bloom
This comment caused Sweetie Belle to turn bright red
“WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT?!!!” said Sweetie Belle
“Well, ever since Rarity said she was pregnant, you started acting weird… and if I’m not mistaken, you started dating Button Mash, 2 weeks after Crystal Clarity was born, 4 years ago,” said Apple bloom
“Plus, you might not realize it, but, when you are on cloud 9, you tend to mumble a lot about having children,” said Scootaloo
Sweetie Belle turned even redder and began to fiddle with her fingers
“Well, it’s not like I’ve been fantasizing about having my own kids soon, but…” whispered Sweetie Belle
“Fantasizing? You are obsessed with the idea!” said Apple Bloom
“No, I’m not” defended Sweetie Belle
“Really? Then why did you ask your sister to teach you how to make baby clothes?” said Scootaloo
“Or the fact that you have been visiting all of the baby stores in the city, and trust me, you turn a few heads when you are there,” said Apple Bloom
“Or the fact that you’re private library is full of kid books,” said Scootaloo
“Or…” began Apple Bloom
“THAT’S ENOUGH!!!” said Sweetie Belle
“But it’s the truth, we went with you to many of the stores,” said Apple Bloom
“WAIT!!! Are you trying to defeat your sister in motherhood?” asked Scootaloo
“What?” said Sweetie Belle
“Well, your sister was 20 when she got pregnant...and you are turning 18 in 5 months,” said Scootaloo
“Is this true?” asked Apple Bloom
Sweetie Belle turned red again
‘WHAT I PLAN TO DO WITH MY LIFE IS NOT YOUR BUSINESS!!!” she screamed
“Did we hit the nail in the head?” asked Scootaloo
Sweetie Belle went silent for a few seconds before saying
“Yeah,”
“So you are just using Button Mash to get back at Spike and Rarity?!” said Apple Bloom
“WHAT, NO!!!... well, at first yes… I thought that I could make Spike jealous, but, over the course of our “fake” relationship, I fell in love with him… like if there was something inside me telling me that, he was the one, my prince charming,” said Sweetie Belle with a goofy smile.
“She is just like her sister,” said Scootaloo
“Yeah… plus, Spike doesn’t date younger girls… and he is 5 years our senior,” said Apple Bloom
“Yeah, I know, but, I’m over it now, honest,” said Sweetie Belle
“Then… the children part?” asked Scootaloo
“Well… I just want to be a mom before I reach 25, that’s all,” said Sweetie Belle
“And that’s it?” asked Apple Bloom
“Does Button Mash know of this?” asked Scootaloo
“Well… we’ve been talking and… he says that, if I’m ready, then he is ready,” said Sweetie Belle
“Well, that’s nice,” said Apple Bloom
“I’d take it slow if I were you, a child is a massive responsibility,” said Scootaloo
“Oh, I know, I haven’t even started the baby name list… I HAVEN’T STARTED THE NAME LIST!!!! OH I AM SO BEHIND,” said Sweetie Belle entering panic mode
“Yeah, cause you wouldn’t like you “Behind” to be impaled without having that ready, right?” said Apple Bloom in a sarcastic way
“YOU SEE, YOU DO UNDERSTAND!!!... Let’s see, Mythic Haze… Silver Wing… Midnight Tone… Peachy Heart…,” said Sweetie Belle
“I was being sarcastic,” said Apple Bloom
“WELL, I’M NOT... ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU DON’T WANT TO HAVE CHILDREN?” asked Sweetie Belle
“Well… of course, I want to have kids, but I don’t want to be a mom before I turn 20,” said Apple Bloom
“But you and Featherweight have been dating for almost 5 years now,” said Sweetie Belle
“THAT DOESN’T MEAN WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SEX FOR HEARTS AND HOOVES DAY!!!!” said Apple Bloom
“I didn’t assume that… WAIT! You were going to gift him your body?” asked Sweetie Belle
“OF COURSE NOT!!!! Featherweight doesn’t believe in sex before marriage… I JUST HAD AN IDEA FOR THE PERFECT GIFT!!!”
“What? A wedding ring?” asked Scootaloo in a sarcastic tone
“No, but that also works… I HAVE TO GO!!!” said Apple Bloom
“WHERE?!” asked Sweetie Belle
“To buy my gift, maybe I’ll get “Perfect lover” cuttie mark,” said Apple Bloom as she ran out the door
“Oh, no, you don’t… I’LL BE GETTING THAT CUTIE MARK!!!!” said Sweetie belle as she jumped off the floor and ran after Apple Bloom, leaving Scootaloo all by herself.
“And I’ll wait here… trying to keep my sanity,” said Scootaloo
Scootaloo sat there in place for almost 10 minutes, listening to music, as she killed time.
“What’s so important about this love thing anyway? You find someone you think you are in love with, they turn you down or cheat on you, and then you live the rest of your life crying into a bowl of ice cream… SIGH, I just don’t understand this anymore,” thought Scootaloo
Just as she finished saying this, Rainbow Dash flew into the clubhouse through one of the windows
“HA! I knew I’d defeat him easily again… now, I just have to get ready and…” said Rainbow Dash as she got her phone out
“What are you doing?” asked Scootaloo
Rainbow Dash turned around and jumped out of her skin.
“SCOOTALOO!!! H-hey squirt! What’s up?” said Rainbow Dash as she quickly typed something into her phone.
“Well, the girls and I were thinking of a way to get our cutie marks, but then, the 2 of them got so high on cloud 9 they began arguing about who is the best girlfriend, and who is the best boyfriend and even talking about gifting their bodies as Hearts and Hooves presents, and then Sweetie Belle went on and on about wanting to be a mom soon and…” Scootaloo said
“Wait, wait, wait… hold the hell up… Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle want to get their cherry popped for Hearts and Hooves?” said Rainbow Dash
“Yup,” said Scootaloo
“Ok, Sweetie Belle, I can believe, but, Apple Bloom?” said Rainbow Dash
“Yup,” said Scootaloo
Just then they both heard
“No… no… no… NO!!!” came a male voice
And then a loud bang was heard, they turned to their left and noticed the outline of a certain pegasus, both girls knew pretty well, on the wall
“That’s what I call an entrance,” said Scootaloo as Rainbow Dash head over to the window and helped Soarin inside.
“Thanks… oh, that is going to leave a mark,” said Soarin
“Are you sure you are ok?” asked Rainbow Dash
“Nothing hurt, only my ego,” said Soarin
“And nose,” said Scootaloo
“Oh, hey there Scootaloo, how you been?” said Soarin as he cares his nose
“Ol’ same, O’l same, you?” said Scootaloo
“Never better,” said Soarin
“SO, Squirt, why aren’t you looking for a Heart and Hooves present?” asked Rainbow Dash
“Well, I don’t have anyone to give it to,” said Scootaloo
“What about that kid… Robert… Ruben…” Soarin said
“Rumble,” said Rainbow Dash
“That guy… I thought you guys were an item,” said Soarin
Scootaloo once again went silent
“I take it you were,” said Soarin
“No, we never were,” said Scootaloo
“But you want to?” asked Rainbow Dash
“I… I don’t know, I just can’t wrap my mind around it,” said Scootaloo
“Well… if you are afraid about it… then, look at us, we had the same situation when we first fell in love,” said Soarin
“Really?” asked Scootaloo
“Yeah, I didn’t know if Soarin liked me as more than a friend,” said Rainbow Dash
“And vice-versa, but, we overcame our fears and prejudice and, well, you know the rest,” said Soarin
“Yeah, and now we are happy together,” said Rainbow Dash
Scootaloo didn’t change her facial expression, which worried Rainbow Dash
“Listen, squirt, I know love is a scary thing, but you have to be brave and go for it, you never know, it’s a trip that may surprise you,” said Rainbow Dash
“Thanks for the help guys, but…” said Scootaloo
“You know, why don’t you go for a walk, it always helps me clear my mind when I’m faced with a dilemma,” said Soarin
Scootaloo looked at him, then at Rainbow Dash, and then said
“Fine, I’ll go for a walk,” as she left the building
Soarin and Rainbow Dash walked up to the window and watched as Scootaloo walked away.
“Do you think it’s going to help?” asked Rainbow Dash
“Well, she is almost 18, she has to learn to overcome adversity,” said Soarin
Rainbow Dash then hugged Soarin and said
“You know, you’d make a good father, someday,”
Soarin chuckled and looked at Rainbow Dash
“Why did you tell me to come here?” he asked
“Well, this was the halfway mark,” said Rainbow Dash
“Halfway mark to what?” asked Soarin
“To my room silly,” said Rainbow Dash
“Oh,” said Soarin in confusion
“Tell you what, if you beat me there, you can choose,” said Rainbow Dash as she grabbed the window frame
“Choose what?” asked Soarin
“Choose, where you want to stick in first,” said Rainbow Dash as she jiggled her butt for Soarin to understand, before zooming out of the window.
“Oh, I love this challenge,” said Soarin as he flew out the window in fast pursuit
WITH SCOOTALOO
Scootaloo walked the bussing streets of Ponyville, trying to understand the concept of love.
She walked past various couples, and people rushing to buy a gift
“Heh, it’s true pandemonium after all,” she thought
After walking for a few more minutes, she noticed that she was outside Carousel Boutique, and for whatever reason, decided to walk up to the window
Inside, she could see Rarity running around the studio, completing dresses and accessories that had been requested as gifts… she noticed, however, that she was alone and jammed packed, so she decided to walk inside.
“Rarity?” she said
A loud CRASH was heard and, and then Rarity appeared around the corner
“Ah, Scootaloo… what can I do for you?” asked Rarity catching her breath
“Well, you seemed jammed packed, and thought you might need some help,” said Scootaloo
“Oh, God bless your heart, that’ll be lovely,” said Rarity as she and Scootaloo entered the studio
“Where is Spike?” she asked
“Oh, he took Crystal Clarity to the park so she could release some energy… poor thing, he has barely gotten any sleep with his new “ambassador” job, and he has to be flying between Canterlot, Ponyville, and the Dragonlands almost 3 times a week… and then he comes back home yesterday to this mess,” said Rarity as she pointed to all of the mannequins with unfinished dresses
“What about Crystal Clarity, how can you be taking care of the boutique and her at the same time?” asked Scootaloo
“We mothers are really resilient, plus, no amount of work comes before my daughter… plus Pinkie Pie helps out babysitting both Crystal Clarity and Lil’ Cheese,” said Rarity as she placed the last piece of garment on a dress “Viola… 12 done… 10 to go,” she said
“What do I do?” asked Scootaloo
“Well, if you could go into the storage and fetch me the fabrics I ask for, that would be much appreciated,” said Rarity
“Right away… which one first?” asked Scootaloo
“Mulberry,” said Rarity “Don’t worry, my Spikey-Wickey labeled all of the garments and fabrics, makes it easier to know what I have and don’t,”
Scootaloo rushed into the storage and fetched all of the supplies needed, and rushed back
“Thanks, Darling,” said Rarity as grabbed the fabric and began to use it to complete another dress
Scootaloo and Rarity worked on every single dress, doing their best to have them ready for tomorrow.
“So, Darling, why are you here, really?” asked Rarity as she finished another dress
“Well, tomorrow is Hearts and Hooves Day, and, I’m trying to understand the point of the gifts,” said Scootaloo
“Ah, so there is someone who has caught your eye… it better not be my Spikey-Wickey,” she said with a scary tone as she turned around and lifted a needle to Scootaloo’s eyesight
“What! No, I’m not into older guys… but, granted he is handsome,” said Scootaloo
“Oh, ok then, so who is it?” asked Rarity as she went back to her friendly self
“Well, I kind of have a crush on Rumble,” said Scootaloo
“Oh, so you guys aren’t an item yet, I could’ve sworn the 2 of you were dating,” said Rarity
“NO!!!! WHAT MADE YOU THINK THAT?!” Asked Scootaloo
“Well, you guys were always together,” said Rarity
“Yeah, like friends,” said Scootaloo
“So, you want to find the perfect gift right?” asked Rarity
“Not exactly… I want to understand the whole thing,” said Scootaloo
“The “whole” thing?” asked Rarity as she finished another dress
“Well, I don’t know if I am in love with him, or just lusting over him,” said Scootaloo
Rarity remained silent, waiting for Scootaloo to continue, knowing very well, the question that followed that sentence.
“How did you know you were in love with Spike?” asked Scootaloo
“Well, at first, I wasn’t in love with him, and I saw him as a great friend… but slowly, I started to notice all the things he did for me, sometimes he had a very busy schedule with Twilight, but he still placed everything on hold to help me… then one day, 7 years ago, Spike got into an accident while we were looking for diamonds, and he almost died saving me… he was in a coma for 3 months, and… during that time, I began to realize everything he had done for me… all the time he had sacrificed himself for me… and his confession… so the moment he woke up… I took a leap of faith and kissed him, right then and there, and I confessed my feelings, and you know the rest, we are happily married, we have successful careers, and now we even have a daughter together, and planning on more,” said Rarity as she finished another dress
“But, weren’t you afraid he was going to reject you?” asked Scootaloo
“Of course I was, what normal person wouldn’t… especially in my case, after abusing of his kindness for almost 10 years… but that’s why you have to have faith,” said Rarity as she placed a hand on Scootaloo’s shoulder.
“I see,” said Scootaloo in a dubitative tone
Rarity looked around and noticed that she was only missing one dress, so she walked over to the counter and pulled out an envelope.
“Here you go, darling, for your help today,” said Rarity giving Scootaloo the envelope
“Ah, you welcome,” said Scootaloo as she slowly took the envelope
“Go buy Rumble a gift… and remember, always have faith… you’d be surprised of what it can do,” said Rarity with a warm smile as she closed the door of the boutique behind Scootaloo.
“Right,” said Scootaloo as she placed the envelope in her pocket
SOMETIME LATER
Scootaloo was still walking around town, looking out for more information about her feelings, when her stomach began to signal it needed some fuel
She looked around and noticed Carousel Boutique was just a few meters away, she knew it was going to be crowded but, she could wait.
After a few minutes of waiting in line to get served, she finally made it to the front desk
“Hello, welcome to Sugarcube corner, and what can I get for you today, Scootaloo?” asked Pinkie Pie as she popped up behind the counter
“A club sandwich and a chocolate smoothie, please,” said Scootaloo
“With fries or hashbrowns?” asked Pinkie
“Fries,” said Scootaloo
“Ok, your total is $10.00,” said Pinkie
Scootaloo paid for her order and headed over to the other side of the counter to wait for her order.
“Busy day?” asked Scootaloo
“You bet,” said Pinkie as she gave another customer their order
Scootaloo noticed that various people were buying cakes meant for heart and hooves day, and she got curious
“So, they actually gift cakes to their “Special others”?” asked Scootaloo
“Oh, yeah, sometimes we even have to make wedding cakes as well, it’s one of the best presents you can give,” said Pinkie with a smile
“Why?” asked Scootaloo
The moment she said that Pinkie stopped dead on her tracks and looked at Scootaloo
“What do you mean “why”?” asked Pinkie
“It just seems like a waste of money and product… there is no way 2 people can eat a cake meant for 8, especially 1,” said Scootaloo
Pinkie stared at Scootaloo, then looked back into the kitchen and said
“How much longer for order #309?”
“2 minutes” came Cheese Sandwich’s voice
“Ok, tell me when it’s ready, I’ll be taking a 5-minute break,” said Pinkie
“Ok, honey… Order up!” said Cheese Sandwich as he placed the order on the counter
“Follow me,” said Pinkie as she took Scootaloo’s order and headed for her room
After a few more seconds, they reached Pinkie’s and Cheese’s room
“Sit… now tell me, what seems to be bothering you?” asked Pinkie
“Well, I’m trying to understand the idea behind love and gifts on Hearts and Hooves Day,” said Scootaloo as she bit into her sandwich
“Huh, is it because you don’t have the courage to tell Rumble how you feel about him… or are you afraid of being rejected?” asked Pinkie
This caused Scootaloo to choke on the piece of sandwich that was in her throat
“Quick, drink this!” said Pinkie as she handed her the smoothie
“GASP… How… how did you know?” asked Scootaloo
“Wild guess,” said Pinkie “So that’s it?” she asked
“Kind of, I mean, I don’t even know what he thinks about me,” said Scootaloo
“Well, I can’t tell you how to find that out, but, I can tell you this… you’re overthinking it, just go up to him and tell him what you think… that’s what I did with Cheese, of course, I also did some other things that, I shouldn’t really talk about so openly,” said Pinkie
“You mean Intercourse?” said Scootaloo
“SHHHHHTTTTT! They might hear you!” said Pinkie
“Who?” asked Scootaloo
“Hornyloo, the succubus dormant inside you,” said Pinkie
“Right… anyway, thanks for the pep talk, but I must go… Sugarcube corner is still crowded… by the way, where is Lil’ Cheese?” said Scootaloo
“Daycare, I didn’t want him running down into the kitchen with all of this hassle,” said Pinkie
“Oh, ok then, bye Pinkie, Thanks for everything,” said Scootaloo as she walked down the stairs
“Bye, and remember bravery! You’ll need it!” said Pinkie “Well, time to go back to work,”
AN HOUR LATER
Scootaloo had been walking all this time and didn’t realize she had left the town, when she looked up, she noticed Fluttershy’s house up ahead, and so her sitting on the rocking chair with something in her arms.
She quickly walked up to her and noticed that she was actually asleep.
“Fluttershy?” she said
Fluttershy twitched and opened her eyes
“Oh, hello Scootaloo… give me a second,” Fluttershy said as she fixed her blouse and got off the rocking chair, and carried the bundle of blankets into the house.
A few minutes later, Fluttershy reemerged from her home and walked up to Scootaloo
“Sorry for the wait, I was just giving Daisy May her lunch, before tucking her in for her afternoon nap,” said Fluttershy
“Oh, Did I come at the wrong time?” asked Scootaloo
“Oh, no dear, it’s ok, what can I do for you?” asked Fluttershy
“Well, I wanted to ask you something,” said Scootaloo
“Sure, go on ahead,” said Fluttershy
“Can you explain love to me, please,” said Scootaloo
“Oh dear, I don’t know how to explain it… is there a particular reason?” asked Fluttershy
“Well, I just feel left out, and, I want to understand the feelings I have for someone,” said Scootaloo
“Well, does your chest hurt when you are away from that person?” asked Fluttershy
“A bit,” said Scootaloo
“Are you afraid of losing that person?” asked Fluttershy
“Yes,” said Scootaloo
“Does that person make you laugh?” asked Fluttershy
“Yes,” said Scootaloo
“Is that person supportive to you?” asked Fluttershy
“Yes,” said Scootaloo
“Do you think you would be happy with that person by your side the rest of your life?” asked Fluttershy
“Yes,” said Scootaloo
“Well, that’s the way I feel about Bulk Bicep, he might not be perfect, and may think about working out more than eating, but, he is really supportive, and he is really nice, and I know I can depend on him… to me, that’s love, but to you, it may be something different,” said Fluttershy
“Thanks, I’ll let you go back to your daughter and animals now,” said Scootaloo

Scootaloo made her way over to Sweet Apple Acres, hoping to ask Apple Bloom about gift ideas, hoping to give Rumble a friendship present.
When she got there, she noticed Big Mac, Sugar Belle, their son Big Sugar, Applejack, Caramel, and their kids Johnny Appleseed, and Golden Noble playing some soccer in one of the fields.
Applejack noticed her and yelled
“HEY SCOOTS! WANNA JOIN OUR GAME?!”
“NO, THANKS, APPLEJACK, BUT I’M BUSY!” said Scootaloo
This surprised Applejack who said
“Guys let’s take a break, I’m gonna go talk to Scoots,” as she ran towards her “What’s got you so worked up?” she asked as she reached Scootaloo
“I’m searching for ideas for a friendship gift for Rumble,” said Scootaloo
“Your boyfriend?” asked Applejack
“HE’S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!” she yelled
“Oh, really, well the 2 of you seem mighty close to me,” said Applejack
“Really? Why does everyone say that?” said Scootaloo
“Well, the 2 of you make a fine couple,” said Applejack
“You sure?” asked Scootaloo
“Yeah, plus, I can tell he like you on another level,” said Applejack
“How can you be so sure, what if it’s not the case?” asked Scootaloo
“Sugarcube, all I can tell you is, love is not something to be overly concerned about, when the time comes, you find your soulmate, but you have to make the first move, or you might miss him or her,” said Applejack
“But still, I don’t think it’s…” said Scootaloo
“It’s time, or logical?” interrupted Applejack
“Yeah,” said Scootaloo
“Well, what you can do is, be honest with yourself, honesty is the best medicine sometimes, especially for matters of the heart,” said Applejack
“But…” said Scootaloo
“Sugarcube, stop overthinking it… why don’t you go and visit Twilight, she’s at the castle right now, maybe she might be of more help… but remember, be honest with yourself, always,” said Applejack as she heads back to her family and resumed the game.
A FEW MINUTES LATER
“And, she sent you here,” said Twilight as she removed another book from the shelf
“Yes, Twilight, can you help please,” said Scootaloo
“Of course I can, but… this is a battle you have to fight alone… Love is a serious thing… unlike friendship… true love only comes once in a lifetime, and it can be very confusing,” said Twilight
“Really?” said Scootaloo
“Of course, take Spike and Rarity for example… Spike had a crush on Rarity for the longest time, but he slowly began to lose it… the day he confessed to her, was the day he was going to end his crush on her because he believed he wasn’t good enough for her and thought that staying friends was better, he supported her during all of her failed romances, and business ventures… and then, the accident happened… and trust me, I had never seen someone as devastated as Rarity… she was a wreck, and even entered a very bad depression while Spike was in a coma,” said Twilight
“Why?” asked Scootaloo
“Well, she tries to hide it, but, we knew that she had a crush on Spike, especially when he became close friends with Gabby… so, when I talked to her, she told me that, she was planning on confessing her feelings to him, but then, the mine came down and Spike used all of his strength to throw her to safety, while he was crushed by all of those boulders… anyway… while he was in a coma, one of the doctors told us, that the chances that he was going to survive, were very slim, almost 5%, so she believed that she had blown her chances, and she was going to be responsible for his death,” said Twilight
“Wow, I… I didn’t know,” said Scootaloo
“While talking to her, I gave her a piece of advice… an advice that I am now going to give to you,” said Twilight
Scootaloo looked up to meet Twilight’s gaze as she said
“Love is important, you have to give it some thought… but, don’t overthink it too much, if you do, you might lose your chance and regret it… don’t let Rarity’s example happen to you too… Rumble is a good kid, and he cares about you, and I can tell you care for him too, am I right?” said Twilight
“Yeah, you’re right,” said Scootaloo
“Well, glad to be of help, now, if you excuse me, I better head back to Canterlot, I don’t know why, but I have the feeling that Starburst is doing something she isn’t supposed to,” said Twilight as she disappeared in front of Scootaloo’s eyes
Scootaloo looked around for a few more seconds and walked out of the castle.
AROUND HALF AN HOUR LATER
Scootaloo arrived at Ponyville lake and decided to sit down and look at the stars
“I know he loves me… but, do I?” thought Scootaloo
“Well, that’s something you don’t see every day,” said a male voice
Scootaloo turned around and saw Spike walking up to her
“Hey Spike,” said Scootaloo
“Hey Scoots, how your day going?” asked Spike as he sat down next to her
“It’s going great,” said Scootaloo
“Really, cause Rarity said otherwise,” said Spike
“Oh, I take it she told you about our conversation from earlier?” said Scootaloo
“Yup, and thank you, you were of great help today,” said Spike
“Really?” asked Scootaloo
“Yup, thanks to you, I was able to head home, Give Crystal Clarity to Rarity, and tell her “Tag, you’re it,” as I ran out of the nursery room after she told me everything,” said Spike
“So, you dumped your daughter, on your wife and ran?” asked Scootaloo
“More like, gave the 2 of them some Mother-daughter time, they both deserve to be together without my ugly mug in the middle,” said Spike
“Right,” said Scootaloo
“So, what’s up?” asked Spike
“Well, I want to confess my feelings to Rumble, but…” said Scootaloo
“You are afraid of rejection, I get it,” said Spike
“What makes you think…”Scootaloo said
“The way you are acting; I was the same way back on my teen years, I was afraid of confessing my feelings to Rarity, because, I kept telling myself, that there too many differences between us, specially, race, she being a unicorn, and me being a dragon… I was something that you hadn’t seen in a long time,” said Spike
“But, you guys ended up together, you had your happy ending,” said Scootaloo
“Yeah, but, many circumstances happened, circumstances I could’ve avoided if I had more guts,” said Spike
“What do you mean?” asked Scootaloo
“Well, you see, when we were 16 I did many things, which I’m not proud of, and during one of those incidents, I kind of confessed my crush to Rarity, but she didn’t let me finish, because at that particular point and time, it looked more like a goodbye confession, than a real confession, well, after that day, I decided to drop my crush and remian friends… but, oh, how life had a twist for me,” said Spike
“But in the end it worked out,” said Scootaloo
“Yes, but I had given up on it, unlike you; you haven’t even began to comprehend your feelings, and you are going to throw in the towel,” said Spike
“It’s just that… I’m afraid… I’m afraid of my heart being broken… of losing Rumble… of… being rejected,” said Scootaloo as the realization hit her
“I told you so,” said Spike
“Spike, what can I do?” asked Scootaloo
“Scoots… If you want to learn to fly, you have jump off the ledge… I think they call it, a leep of faith… everything is going to be fine, trust me… and most importantly, trust yourself,” said Spike
“Thanks for the advice Spike,” said Scootalo as she gave Spike a hug
“Your welcome… here’s another advice, it’s 7 PM, stores close at 11 PM, so you better hurry and find lover boy a gift,” said Spike
At the mention of this Scootaloo jumped up of the ground in horror and dashes, possibly even faster than Rainbow Dash into town and into the nearest shopping mall.
THE NEXT DAY
IT’S HEARTS AND HOOVES DAY!!!!
Couples are all over the city, celebrating their love, life, and company, students and teens, wait with baited breath to see if they get a gift from the person they love.
Families are together enjoying each others company.
And then we have Scootaloo, she was racing to get to the party her school had organazied, and she was very late.
When she got to her school, the party was in full swing, couples were dancing, playing, or just talking with each other, and of course you had the couples there were doing the typical PDAs but no one actually care.
Scootaloo parked her scooter and entered the party searching for her friends and Rumble.
The first person she found was Apple Bloom, who was dancing with Featherweight to the rhythm of “Perfect - Ed Sheeran”
“Bloom, any idea where Rumble is?” she asked
“No clue, haven’t seen him since I arrived,” said Apple Bloom
“Maybe he’s at the other side of the auditorium, near the food table,” said Featherweight
“Thanks guys,” said Scootaloo as she walked away
Scootaloo walked as fast as she could to the other side of the auditorium avoiding the wild dancing couples, as best she could.
When she arrived at the other side, she didn’t find Rumble, but she did find Sweetie Belle and Button Mash, who were swapping spit like there was no tomorrow
“Can’t say I’m surprised, Sweetie Belle, sorry to interrupt your makeout session, but, have you seen Rumble?” asked Scootaloo
Sweetie Belle and Button Mash, didn’t part lips, but Sweetie Belle did point to the south entrance of the auditorium, which was also supposed to be the main entrance to the party, which Scootaloo did not use.
“Thanks… oh, and I hope you guys bought condoms,” said Scootaloo
Sweetie Belle dug into her purse and showed her a batch of condoms she had with her.
“Ok… have fun!” said Scootaloo as Sweetie Belle gave her a thumbs up.
Scootaloo ran to the south entrance, but when she got close, she stopped dead on her tracks.
She saw Diamond Tiara flirting with a boy that resembled Rumble.
She was about to turn around, throw the present in the garbage, and leave the party, until she saw Diamond Tiara pulling the boy away, and noticed, that it wasn’t him.
Scootaloo was confused, but then she looked back at the entrance, and there, sitting on a bench, was Rumble, he had a sad expression on his face, and she also noticed that he had a small box in his left hand.
She walked up to him and said
“Enjoying the party?”
Rumble looked up and immediately tried to hid the book
“No point on doing that, I saw the box,” said Scootaloo
“Oh, you did?” said Rumble
“Yup, anyway, here, I got you this for Heart and Hooves,” said Scootaloo as she gave the box to Rumble.
Rumble opened the box and noticed that inside was a necklace with half a heart with the inscripture “Love you…”
“They were supposed to be 2 of them but… when I got to the shop, they had already sold the other one… I hope you don’t mind,” said Scootaloo turning red
“Of course I don’t, I love it,” said Rumble
A realization then hit Rumble
“Scootaloo, can you please turn around,” said Rumble
“Sure,” she said as she did wha she was asked to do
For whatever reason she felt uneasy, and she was doing all she could to calm down
“Relax, Scoots… everyone is right, you have to have faith in this… just tell him how you feel about him… at least you know he liked the necklace… but why, it’s missing the other one… is he going to go and search for whoever has teh other neck…” was all Scootaloo could think about when she felt something being placed around her neck.
“I hope you like this… and I would like you to know that… this is how I feel,” said Rumble
Scootaloo looked at her neck and noticed that Rumble had given her a necklace too, it looked just like the one she gave him, except, it read “Forever”
Scootaloo turned, and when she did, Rumble took both necklaces and joined them to create one.
“I didn’t have enough cash to buy both of them, I’m glad we had the same idea,” said Rumble
Scootaloo looked at Rumble, and without a second thought, she kissed him.
Rumble was taken by surprise, but quickly gave in, and kissed back; their kiss lasted for a full minute., but to them, it felt like it only lasted a few seconds.
“I hope that… was enough to demonstrate what I feel for you,” said Scootaloo just for Rumble to kiss her again.
“It did,” he said as they kissed again
The new couple continued making out, until they needed to catch some air
When their lips departed, Rumble took her hand and kneeled down
“Care to dance with me, M’lady?” he said mimicking a prince
“With pleasure,” Scootaloo said vowing like is she was a princess
With that said, they headed towards the dance floor, and danced the night away, happily.
