//------------------------------// // The Appointment // Story: Bubbles Popping // by mageli7 //------------------------------// Ditzy walked to the tree where the Doctor sat looking up at the clouds. "Hi Doctor!" Ditzy yelled snapping him out of his trance. "Hmmm, oh hello Ditzy," the Doctor replied smiling, "How are you?" "I'm great, I feel better," Ditzy said, feeling better was an understatement, she felt amazing after meeting the Doctor. He was so kind, funny, and good to be around. It seemed that every time Ditzy was near him she felt lighter like bubbles. Ditzy looked at the bubbles on her flank. She sighed softly, what did they mean? She had gotten them while making bubbles and thinking about them but you couldn't make a job with bubbles! What could her special talent be? "Something wrong Ditzy?" Doctor asked looking at the concern on her face. "My cutie mark, it's so stupid, I don't know what it means!" Ditzy cried in frustration. The Doctor stared at the bubbles, he didn't know exactly what they could mean himself, "Well... How did you get them?" "I... I just got them! I think I was playing with bubbles... I don't know," Ditzy sighed. "Well what about how you make people feel? They float carelessly so maybe you make people feel better?" the Doctor questioned. "Psssh, if I made people feel better why do they make me feel bad?" Ditzy said sitting down. The Doctor looked down at Ditzy sadly, "You make me feel better if that helps at all..." Ditzy looked up smiling gently, "I-I do?" "Of course, you are one of the nicest ponies I have ever met, I love it," the Doctor said, grinning. "Thanks Doctor..." Ditzy said, she jumped up and hugged the Doctor. A voice blew through the wind, "Wakkke up Ditzy..." it called. ----------- Ditzy sat up, snapping out of her sleep. She looked around to remember where she was. Then she remembered, the psychiatrist. Her father had decided she needed to see somepony. Ditzy was becoming different. Her grades were fine, but she hardly talked to anypony anymore. Ditzy had the Doctor and that was what mattered to her. She talked to him, that was her friend. "Who's the Doctor?" the psychiatrist asked. "W-What? How did y-" Ditzy began. "You said it when you were sleeping, or well hypnotized. You looked quite happy though, but who is he or she? "H-He's a friend... W-We're friends at school..." Ditzy quickly lied. The psychiatrist looked at her, scribbled something down in a notebook, and sighed. "Okay... You can go now..." Ditzy nodded, she grabbed her bag and walked out of the office quickly. She sighed as she saw the rain, focusing her eyes, she took to the sky and flew home. ------ Ditzy sat in her room, laying on her bed. She sighed and rolled over onto her stomach, looking out her window to where the large tree sat. She couldn't she him right now, it was raining. Ditzy doubted he'd even be there... Where did the Doctor even live? Ditzy had never really thought about it, he just was always at the tree... Ditzy groaned and threw a pillow over her head and groaned, this was taking so long. Ditzy jumped up and opened her window. The rain was still pouring, but she didn't care. Ditzy took off, out the window, and flew to the tree. She looked around and saw the Doctor sitting under the tree, looking at the flowers around him. "D-Doctor? What are you doing? It's raining!" Ditzy said as she ran over to the Doctor and put a wing over him, using it as an umbrella. The Doctor sighed, "Here follow me, I have a place where we can both keep dry..." Ditzy nodded as the Doctor led her to a blue telephone box. "Hey... Aren't these in Trottingham?" The Doctor nodded and opened the door to the box, "Here, come inside..." "Okay whatever yo- WOAH ITS SO BIG ON THE INSIDE!" The Doctor nodded as Ditzy looked back at him, "Why would a Doctor need this?" she asked. "... I'm not a Doctor, I'm an adventurer of sorts..." the Doctor replied. The Doctor spent at least two hours explaining to Ditzy what he did for a living. There had been many questions, Ditzy was confused. "Please don't leave Doctor..." Ditzy said at the end of his speech. The Doctor nodded gently and pulled Ditzy into a hug, "I'm so sorry Ditzy..." ------------- Ditzy came to the tree the next day, the Doctor was not there. She looked for the TARDIS, it was not there. Ditzy looked around before sitting down. A small whimper escaped her throat. "Doctor..." Ditzy whispered gently as she took to the air. She flew home sobbing. ------------- Ditzy and her mother stood in the train station waiting for the train to Ponyville, Ditzy was getting out of her town, she was tired of everything there. Ditzy looked over to her mother, "Everything alright mom?" she asked. Stargazer nodded, "I just can't believe my little muffin is leaving..." she sniffled. A number of years had passed since the Doctor had left, Ditzy had been depressed during those years. Comet had been drinking more and Stargazer became silent. Comet left one day, just left. No note, no nothing. Ditzy was glad actually, her father had been hurting her mother, she couldn't say a thing about it. "Don't worry mom, I'll visit you, I mean Ponyville isn't that far from here..." Ditzy said quietly. Stargazer sighed and gave a weak smile, "I'm so glad you're getting out of this town really... It isn't very nice." Ditzy nodded gently as a train whistle was heard, "12:00 to Ponyville! 12:00 to Ponyville!" a stallion called. Ditzy hugged her mother with tears in her eyes, "I love you mommy..." she whispered. "Love you too my little muffin..." Stargazer replied hugging her daughter tightly. Ditzy flew over to the train and got on waving to her mother. She found a seat and sat down with a sigh. Maybe things were looking up for Ditzy... Maybe she'd be alright. Ditzy smiled and looked out the window dreaming of her new home, Ponyville.
