//------------------------------// // Left out // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// A usual bright day in Ponyville. Nothing out of the ordinary today. "Gotcha!" Ash tossed a snowball at a defenceless Sweetie Belle, taking her out from a distance. "AH! Sweetie Belle!" Apple Bloom and Scootaloo gasped as they hid behind a snow fort. "Urgh..." Sweetie Belle groaned as she had been taken out by a single snowball that had been thrown by Ash. "Cheap shot, Ash!" Scootaloo puffed her cheeks. "In a snowball fight, everything goes." Ash bounced a snowball up and down. "Pikachu!" "In that case, Ponyta, Double Kick!" Scootaloo commanded her Ponyta. The Fire Horse Pokemon had kicked a huge snowball towards Ash's direction, causing him and Pikachu to gasp. "Iron Tail!" "Chu-Pika!" Pikachu effortlessly cut the giant snowball in half with a good old Iron Tail. A move that's stayed with him since Hoenn and has always come in handy. As the group continued their little snowball fight, Pinkie Pie devoured some Cindercakes in order to combat the cold. She gave some to her friends who were also feeling the sudden harsh cold. "When's this cold weather gonna give out?" Applejack shuddered. "As soon as we reach the Winter Wrap Up." Rarity replied. "Although with Pokemon involved. it might take longer than usual this time." "I already know there's a Pokemon out there that's an expert at gathering snow," Twilight said as Vulpix was trying to warm her up with Incinerate. "Vulpix!" But, using Incinerate only caused Twilight's face and mane to be covered in smoke as she coughed. "T-Thanks, Vulpix..." "Vul!" As usual, the Mane 6 got along well with their partners. Over these past few months which is now nearing a whole entire year since the two worlds have crossed over, a new kind of friendship was formed between them. Not one out of magic but instead, one out of Pokemon and possibly the most absurd situations they've been through so far. However, despite all of this, not everyone is so happy about Pokemon. In fact, the ones that stand out the most who showed their not-so-fond expression to these Pocket Monsters were the pets. These pets were obviously, Angel Bunny, Winona, Tank, who was still in hibernation somewhere, Opalescence, Owlowiscious, Gummy and to an extension, all the over at Canterlot, Philomena. With Pokemon being heavily involved with the ponies and their world, and their involvement is still growing with new discoveries being made, some of the pets felt a bit left out. The one who was bothered by this the most was Angel Bunny. Winona and the others, not so much really. Sure they felt a bit jealous but they weren't feeling the exact same emotion as Angel Bunny right now. Jealousy. And who could blame him? Ever since Pokemon came into their life, everypony's pets, not just limited to the Mane 6, but all over Equestria, they had all been essentially left in the dust. They weren't forgotten, not at all. But compared to Pokemon who can perform amazing feats that continue to impress day after day, the pets are bit underwhelming. It doesn't help that Pokemon aren't even considered pets like them. They're actually considered great friends and even family in certain scenarios. Angel Bunny, who was ferociously tapping his foot on the soft snow, looking at resentment and envy. He couldn't accept the fact that the Pokemon have been getting much more attention than him and the other pets. Who have all been with them since day one. Some later than others. His jaundiced eye shifted to all the Pokemon that sat next to the Mane 6, focusing all of his spite on every last one of them. But the one Pokemon he was the most jealous of was none other than Audino. To say he despised Audino was an understatement. This huge rabbit, butterfly eared creature who coincidentally shared the exact same colour palette and motif as Fluttershy, had been around her so frequently that they're practically considered sisters to a point where Angel Bunny had never felt such animosity in his entire life. Audino had quickly overtaken him in the span of a few months, whereas he's been with Fluttershy for years now. What doesn't help is that Fluttershy's newly caught Chikorita might end up leaving Angel Bunny in the dust as well if this carries on. Clearly, this irate bunny felt like he had to do something to get Fluttershy and everypony to remember that they exist too. Angel devised a plan. One that would need to involve the rest of the ponies' pets, minus Tank. But, to pull it off, he would also have to request the assistance of the Pokemon themselves. Angel Bunny wasn't really a big fan of the wonderful creatures known as Pokemon. If anything, he viewed them as rivals to every animal in the world. He believed that they're just here to replace every animal in his world and essentially make every pet around the world irrelevant. But for his plan to work, he needed the Pokemon. And the right selection too. A few minutes had passed and in those minutes, Angel Bunny had gathered around all of the Mane 6's pets other than Tank and every other animal at the Pokemon House. And he did it without Fluttershy or anypony spotting them. But that makes sense since they were too busy focused on Pokemon. Winona. the animals and the other pets weren't sure on why Angel had brought them here and for what purpose exactly? That's when he gave the explanation. He explained to them that the Pokemon are replacing them all. In fact, they've practically already done it in a short amount of time. He went on about how the pets would eventually become irrelevant very soon. And it's almost been a full year. Angel then gave his fellow animals a chatter about how they don't compare to the Pokemon whatsoever. And he wasn't lying. Pokemon can perform unbelievable feats that this world would've never anticipated. Some can burn hotter than the sun itself. Some are capable of moving at speeds so ludicrous that make Rainbow Dash look like a joke. They can toss mountains around like they were baseballs and crush them as if they were berries. Bring down skyscrapers without any issue. Cause nightmares in a second. Steal spirits. Unleash electricity and lightning so powerful and potent that it can even rival or surpass that of a storm. Cause earthquakes on a daily basis as they change the entire landscape, causing cartographers to continuously change the map layout every passing second. On the bright side, they get a very smooth payroll. Some are larger than entire cities and kingdoms. Some can just casually summon black holes at any point in time. Distort space itself. Others have an IQ so vast that it's surprising how none of them has attempted to rule the world at this point, apart from a certain Dark-Psychic-Type. There is a dragon out there can just control time. And some are even capable of destroying the world at any time, however way they want, whenever they want. The list goes on and on and on. And they haven't even met every single one of them. There are still other Pokemon out there that are just capable of the most ridiculous feats. After hearing this, the animals realized that the Pokemon are essentially superior versions of themselves. After all, many Pokemon resemble everyday animals but just much more remarkable variants. They can't even begin to come close to the wonders that Pokemon can perform. Winona at first wasn't too bothered by the whole Pokemon thing at all. When the worlds first crossover over, Applin was the first Pokemon that made its appearance in Sweet Apple Acres. Multiple of them. However, despite this, it never caught the attention of Applejack. It took her by surprise but she wasn't really a pony that was interested in Pokemon. That left Winona as the most prominent creature there. Cut to a few months later and she manages to find a Pokemon that stuck by her ever since. Treecko, who is now a Grovyle. After that, Winona has noticed that Grovyle ended up gaining a ton of affection from Applejack. Even Big Macintosh spends more time with his Machamp than her. All she has left is Granny Smith who surprisingly doesn't hang around with Drampa that much. Although that's mostly because Drampa hangs around in the back since it just wants to relax with absolute silence. But at the end of the day was normal for Winona to be a bit jealous since she is a dog. But usually, its dogs that are jealous of other dogs. Not grass lizards. Other than that Opal, Gummy and Owlowiscious weren't actually that bothered by it. Especially Tank and Owlowiscious. Opal doesn't really interact with Rarity that much anyways so its natural for her at this point. However, seeing how she views the Leavanny's as her own children, especially when they were little Sewaddle's before, did make her a bit envious. The owl and the alligator, however, didn't really have a reason to be jealous. Owlowiscious helps out in the Pokemon Lab anyways and Gummy doesn't even care one bit. As for the animals who were around Fluttershy's cottage, they weren't afraid to express their feelings towards Pokemon. They didn't hate Pokemon, but they certainly felt like runner-ups to them. For a fair comparison, the Pokemon were gold medalists while the animals were either silver or bronze. And times, Pokemon even felt like platinum. They had all shared their, not necessarily disdain but more of a slightly visible resent. Although, some animals do get along well with Pokemon. Most of the time. Angel Bunny had managed to convince the animals that were indeed left out and irrelevant at this point, especially by Fluttershy. So he had the right number of fellow animals he needed for his plan. And what was his plan exactly? Simple. Look like Pokemon. Angel Bunny believed that if they simply look and acted like Pokemon, obviously all the attention would be drawn to them. But the question that surfaced his mind was, what Pokemon should they be? Do they copy already existing Pokemon or just make up their own. Angel had gone with the first decision. Copy already existing Pokemon. But, with a twist. If he can find one that is. Every animal here at least resembles a Pokemon. Whether it be the surface level Normal, Grass and Bug-Types or the sky-high Flying-Types, most Pokemon look like animals anyway so it won't be that challenging to replicate some of them. Although, a lot of paint, stickers and other materials would be required for this plan to work. But, moving away from Ponyville, what of Canterlot? The one pet that belongs to the ruler of Equestria herself. Philomena. Celestia's pet phoenix. Compared to the animals, a phoenix is a special kind creature. If anything, Philomena had been the superior versions of animals long before the Pokemon arrived. Spike even had one phoenix named Peewee before giving the little phoenix to his parents. But other than that, Philomena was on the same boat as Owlowiscious. She may not be super active, but then again, she's a phoenix. What can she really do other than looking beautiful? Celestia's parents did end up getting her a pet phoenix when she was a little filly and ever since then, she's been alongside the Sun Princess, even before she became an alicorn. Philomena has obviously gone through her usual Ressurection phase that every phoenix goes through, with one occurring many months back with Fluttershy, so there's always something to look forward to when it comes to this blazing bird. A phoenix was so fascinating that even Passion was interested in it. There aren't many firebirds in her world. Well, none that are extremely similar to phoenix by appearance and name such as Talonflame and Moltres with the only exception being the Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh. While Passion doesn't really interact with Philomena that often, occasionally, she does come by to the phoenix here and there, gazing at its radiant appearance. And today was another one of those days where she would just stand there, looking at it. "Kirlia..." The Emotion Pokemon gawked at Philomena. Out of curiosity, Passion had decided to place her hands on the phoenix. She wondered what it would feel like. In her mind, she thought it would be soft like a regular bird's feathers. And they were, somewhat. Touching a phoenix felt very warm since it is a creature of fire after all, but its feathers were nice to touch. Philomena felt a nice sensation when Kirlia rustled her feathers. Overall, Philomena is completely fine with Celestia taking such good care of Passion. After all, she's been looked after for a thousand years now. So she's spent time with Celestia for a long time. Passion being the new creature in line to be looked after wasn't a bother at all. But back to Ponyville. The plan had been devised. Angel Bunny had already had his Pokemon appearance up and ready along with others. He was meant to be a Raboot. To pull this off, he got one of Rarity's old fabrics, wrapping it around his face and body. And from first glance, he somewhat looked like a Raboot. Albeit a slightly smaller version of the Rabbit Pokemon. Winona was meant to be Lycanroc, the Midday Form. To pull this off they got a bunch of fluff and just slapped it on Winona's neck and tail. They even painted her legs white as well. It wasn't the most authentic one, but if you look closely, it does kind of look like a slightly darker Midday Lycanroc. Gummy was a Totodile in which all they did was just pour blue paint on him and call it a day. But they put in more effort by adding Totodile's signature yellow V and red scales. Owlowiscious was a Hoothoot in which they put black paint around his eyes along with some plastic to mimic Hoothoot's diamond-shaped extensions. So far, they've been using items that came straight from Rarity's Carousel Boutique. Angel had to convince the Leavanny's that they needed old fabric for 'creative purposes'. And as for Opalescence? She was a Purugly. This decision actually infuriated her since she thought that if there was a Pokemon she would prefer to mimic, it would be the glamorous Glameow. But nope. It's Purugly and it's staying that way until the trainers notice. But, she did notice that her eyes match Purugly's so she should've seen it coming. The rest of the animals were appropriately dressed. You had your smaller birds mimicking the regional Flying-Types such as Pidey, Pidove, Tailow and so forth. The bear known as Harry was meant to be an Ursaring, which was the easiest one yet. All they did was paint a circle on his chest and that was it. There was more effort put into Gummy's Totodile appearance than this. But, to be fair, Ursaring is just a bear with a circle on its chest. So it wasn't really close to being a challenge. Although, they did go the extra mile and put frills on Harry's shoulders. You had a few other rabbits being disguised as Buneary's. Eagles that were meant to be Braviary's, which they pulled of pretty well. Getting the colour palette of Braviary was tricky of course but once they did, these majestic birds were truly looked striking. Ducks that were Duckletts of course. Ferrets mimicking Furret. Bugs mimicking so, so, so many Bug-Types. Beavers for Bidoof and Bibarel. The lovable silly-looking things. And somehow, in some way, they even managed to replicate Espeon. How? They got a cat, painted it purple, added a fake second tail, glued a red marble on its head and voila. Espeon. Clearly, a lot of hard work and time actually went into these knockoff designs, some being easier than others, but overall, fairly impressive. Angel Bunny was a bit of a clever creature after all. Now that they had the designs on them, there was only one thing left to do. Pull off moves. And this is where the Pokemon come in. Angel Bunny had requested help from the Pokemon to use their moves just slightly next to the animals so that it looked like they were also performing them. Granted, they would have to hold back the amount of power they exert with the moves because a single Stone Edge can end the life every single animal here in the span of 2 seconds, so that meant no heavy hitters such as Hyper Beam or Giga Impact. Now it was time to head to the ponies themselves. Angel Bunny had led the charge and the one thing everypony saw was a huge horde of animals making their way towards the centre of Ponyville, dressed up as knockoff variants of Pokemon. "Ah...I kinda wish it snowed more often sometimes." Ash sighed, feeling the soft white snow continuously fall from above whilst Scootaloo and Pikachu were both hanging on his shoulder. "Pikachu..." "Audino?" Audino, being the master of hearing had picked up on the sounds of the animals walking directly towards them. She had nudged Fluttershy, pointing directly at the horde of knockoff Pokemon who had soon filled all of Ponyville. "Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Rarity squinted her eyes. "Yeah!" Pinkie rubbed her eyes. "Pokemon? Or not?" "More like animals dressed as Pokemon. What is all of this?" Fluttershy fluttered over towards the animals. She could clearly see Angel standing in front of them all, smack dab in the middle. Angel Bunny crossed his tiny little bunny paws, looking smug and confident. He believed that they were going to blow the ponies away. And let's just say, something will get blown away. He gave the command by raising his paw up, causing the show to begin. It started off with Angel Bunny attempting to mimic Raboot's pebble kick when Ember is performed. He picked up a pebble, tossing it high up into the air whilst a Darumaka shot an Ember towards the tiny piece of rock. Once the pebble was surrounded by flames, Angel had hopped up, kicking his feet on the ignited rock. Since he was a bunny, it was natural for him to have pretty impressive hops. But, because he's a normal bunny, connecting his feet with Ember meant that he'd get a pretty bad burn mark due to this. However, he did manage to launch the pebble, perfectly replicating Raboot's Ember. It was actually very impressive how identical it looked. "Oooh..." The ponies certainly found it impressive. Now that Angel had shown that he can pull off the same tricks as a Raboot, even though he was currently holding his now burnt feet, blowing on it aggressively, it was time for the other animals to do the same. And this is where it all went wrong. Even when a Pokemon holds back their power, it didn't matter that much. Whether it was that they were too strong or the animals were just fragile in comparison. It was one of the two. Most likely both at the same time. The birds were tasked on mimicking Air Slash and Gust with the Pokemon that they were knocking off assisting in that category. Once both Flying-Types moves had been unleashed the result as a combined force that had caught the birds inside of the unified wind, causing them to spin around rapidly. The ponies gasped as the birds had been carried away by Gust and Air Slash. The Flying-Types had widened their eyes, not seeing that one coming at all. According to Angel Bunny, it was just a minor setback. He ordered the others to perform other moves but this time with caution. But that wouldn't matter at all. When Winona and other animals were told to perform Stone Edge and it went the absolute opposite way. The fluff around her neck actually had stones placed inside of it for authenticity, according to Angel. Winona shook her head about, causing rocks to fly out. The animals posing as Pokemon who knew Stone Edge had either chucked rocks out of their mouths or just flung them with their tail since some Pokemon perform Stone Edge that way. This was a mistake for a few reasons. One of which is that there were rampant rocks moving about, breaking through the windows of some ponies homes whilst also taking out some birds in the sky. And all it took was that fake Stone Edge to cause a chain reaction. A few rocks had managed to come across the birds that were still being carried by the unified Flying-Type move, spinning around in them. The birds had eventually been dragged back to the other animals with the rocks shooting straight out of the whirlwind, with one almost hitting Applejack right in the head which caused her to yelp. Other animals had been hit by the rocks, especially Gummy who had water placed inside of his mouth. The plan was to have Gummy spit out the water as if he was using Water Gun, but it was forced out of him. The fake Water Gun ended up getting on some of the animals, getting rid of the paint with ease. So much for all that paintwork. Owlowiscious flew up, obviously not wanting to get involved in the carnage that was occurring. Same for Opalescence. She just casually moved to the side, yawning as she watched the destruction play out. Angel winced, pulling on his ears as he saw all of his hard work falling apart right before his very eyes. The ponies had realized that maybe it was probably time to solve this. Right about now. "We should probably do something about that." Rainbow Dash flew up, grabbing ahold of the birds who were being carried by the wind, saving their lives. Her Braviary had destroyed the wind by using Steel Wing to do so. Pikachu and Eve had used Iron Tail and Psybeam to cut the rocks in half and blown them up, preventing any further destruction by their frantic movements. Meanwhile, Grovyle and Leavanny had saved Harry from getting bombarded by raining rocks with Leaf Blade and X-Scissor Angel Bunny, who still felt a burn mark on his foot had been healed by Audino thankfully, eliminating the burn. Thankfully, the destruction didn't last that long as it had died down. But in that short amount of time, they had managed to cause quite a ruckus. "Whew. That could've gone worse..." Twilight sighed. "Angel Bunny! What were you thinking?" Fluttershy fluttered over to the little bunny. Angel scoffed, turning his head to the other side whilst crossing his arms. He looked over to see that some of the animals had been hurt due to this fake Pokemon act and others were a bit mortified actually. Seeing this made him realize that he put them all in danger. "Winona! Bad girl! You could've taken somepony out!" Applejack scolded her pet dog, causing her to whimper. Angel Bunny had given out a little squeak, replying to Fluttershy. "You were doing this just to show us that you're just as great as Pokemon?" "Oh...I get it." Twilight nodded. "I think what we're seeing here is jealousy. But this is a different breed of jealousy that I've never seen before." "Jealousy?" Fluttershy thought for a bit. "Angel. Do you think that we've been neglecting you all this entire time?" Angel nodded his head aggressively. Not only did he nod his head, but the other animals actually did the same. Even though theirs was a more hesitant nod. Seeing this made Fluttershy aware of the animal's current feelings. Normally, she would say that they haven't been neglecting them, however, the evidence was right in front of them. The harsh truth was that Pokemon had practically taken up so much of everypony's time that the animals were no longer the beloved woodland creatures they once were. In a sense, they were being neglected. Applejack looked over at Winona to see how she was looking down, upset that she had just been scolded at. Which rarely happens actually. Although, Twilight, Pinkie Pie and Rarity saw how their pets were completely unbothered, not caring one bit. "I guess they're not phased at all aren't they?" Twilight let out a small chuckle." "Mhm..." Both Pinkie and Rarity nodded. "Oh..." Fluttershy gasped. "Is it really everyone else that's feeling neglected?" The animals responded with squeaks, roars, chirps and whatever sounds a beaver makes. "I don't blame them." Rarity walked up to Fluttershy. "To be honest, I've practically done something similar. Not just to Opalescene but to my Mareep as well. I suppose I was so caught up with my Leavanny's, especially when they were still little Sewaddles that I completely ignored them both." Just then, Rarity was reminded of the Feebas she had. "Oh, wait..." "Well, it's not an issue for some of us. Owlowiscious and Gummy are always interacting with us after all. Right, Pinkie?" Twilight spoke. "Oh, yeah. Gummy's made great friends with Jade. He sure does love biting on her wings." Pinkie grinned. "But other than that...I think I feel a bit bad." Fluttershy dug her hooves in the snow. "Angel. Everyone. I'm sorry. It's just that...Pokemon are so wonderful and amazing. They can do things that we never imagined and they're still impressing us day after day. I guess my instant love and fascination for them made you all feel left out." Angel shifted his eyes from side to side. Despite him being a spoiled and bossy rabbit who shows so much aggression to Fluttershy, in truth, he honestly does care for her and to an extension, every other animal in the world. Even if he doesn't show it that much. And it is that care that allowed the bunny to forgive Fluttershy. However, he found the strength to apologize as well. He and the animals gave their apologies since they caused a bit of carnage in a short amount of time, all for the sake of getting the ponies to notice them. "From now on, I'll put much more focus on all of you. Both Pokemon and animals combined. I promise." Fluttershy picked up Angel Bunny. Angel, feeling ecstatic to hear that answer, looked up at Audino, the Pokemon he originally hated the most. After Audino healed his leg, he no longer despised the rabbit, butterfly-eared, whatever Audino is meant to be. After seeing how she showed her caring nature to him, Angel now viewed Audino as a second Fluttershy. Which is a good thing in his eyes. All the other animals gathered around, giving Fluttershy a group hug as she was cornered by every single one of them with Harry grabbing them all. "Sorry for getting mad at you there, Winona. Guess I should've known why ya'll did it." Applejack gave her dog a pat on the head. Grovyle did the same but his pat felt smoother due to the fact that he is a Grass-Type, they tend to have smoother skin. That's all Winona needed to hear. She never felt truly jealous of Grovyle that much and she definitely forgave Applejack. "Man...Makes me wonder why regular animals are so rare in our world." Ash spoke, recalling the time he first saw a Pidgey eating a regular worm when he started out his journey, saw a fish tank with regular fish, the time he wore a cow costume and the one time that Gastly turned into a Mongoose. "Pikachu..." Pikachu nodded his head. "...Wait...what?" Twilight's ears picked up on Ash's words, turning to him. Does that mean that regular animals exist somewhere in the Pokemon World? Whatever the case, the animals in this world have finally been able to let Fluttershy know how they really feel. On this day, the animals and Pokemon will form a new bond that had yet to be created. But now was a good time to make that bond possible. The animals had also come to accept the fact that Pokemon are just too wonderful and amazing. But actually, that made the animals look up to the magical creatures in a way. As if they were idols and role models. Some animals even wished they could perform what Pokemon could do as if they were children being inspired by their hero. It was a fairly nice sight to see and there will be more pleasant sights involving the relationships between all forms of life as the journey continues! Chapter 215 End.
