//------------------------------// // UB-02 Absorption // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Equestria, night. It happened once more. An Ultra Wormhole had emerged out of thin air. Most likely due to the actions of Colress tampering with Ultra Space. However, this time, the Ultra Beast that came through wasn't one that was intent on causing destruction. Not at all. Today, the ponies will come across what might be considered the most vainglory Pokemon they'll ever meet. Come morning, and everything seemed peaceful and quiet as usual today. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Nopony was even aware of the roaming Ultra Beast. Especially not quiet and peaceful Ponyville, which is the most popular place for a Pokemon to just go crazy and roam around. "Here you guys go," Ash spoke as he held in his hand an Xtransciever. The powerful communication transciever from the Unova Region. "What is this? Another Pokedex?" Twilight held it in her hooves. "It's the Xtransciever. A super useful tool that lets you contact your friends and family. This thing's pretty neat, ya know." "Pikachu!" "Oooh..." Pinkie held the Xtransciever in her hoof, gazing at its sleek design. "It's so smooth..." "I'll say...This design is so perfectly compact and simple yet so complex." Rarity examined it. "This is actually what we need!" Twilight exclaimed. "That way, we can stay in touch with everypony if we ever get separated! And we can call for help if we need it." "Ain't it? I've already given you all my trainer number so you'll always have on there. You guys should have your trainers numbers too." "Trainer number? How do we know what our trainer numbers are?" Applejack questioned. "Just turn it on and it'll scan your face. Then it'll just give you a number automatically. Wish it did back when I first journeyed Unova." "Well, I think I need this more than anypony." Rainbow Dash placed it in her saddle-bag. She was starting to look more and more like an actual Pokemon Trainer. Even an adept one. "It's good that we're getting more involved with the Pokemon World and their items. And we'll also find out where Jirachi can be found. Hoenn's the one place where Jirachi's said to be the most prominent." Twilight commented. "But where in Hoenn? The region's super big with tons of water." Rainbow replied. "Jirachi's one of those Pokemon that are super rare after all. But there's no Pokemon too rare to find!" Ash grinned. "Pika-Pikachu!" "So uh...just do this?" Scootaloo turned on the Xtransciever as it scanned her entire face in an instant. "Oooh. "Scootaloo Registered!" The communication device suddenly spoke as Scootaloo's face digitally appeared on the screen with the trainer number 30000. "Sweet!" She lifted it up as the others did the same. With their trainer numbers registered and each having something to communicate even from afar, staying in touch with each other is going to be a lot easier now. In fact, they could call their friends in case they were having trouble with anything so that they could give some advice. Truly a convenient device. What was also convenient was the arrival of the mysterious Ultra Beast. This alien Pokemon had been roaming around the world, causing a bit of a ruckus. But not in the way you'd expect. Instead of it causing destruction and harming others like some Pokemon, this Ultra Beast seemed to be a bit of a showoff. And the ponies were about to find out when it finally arrived. It made a grand entrance by falling from above. The minute it landed down, it caused a bit of tremor that shook Ponyville as a whole. Dust clouds picked up from the impact as even some rocks flew out of the ground with a slight crack forming. "What in tarnation was what?!" Applejack gasped. She and her friends snapped their heads to the location of where the noise and impact originated from. Everypony did actually. This time, they were ready. After Nihilego, Spiritomb and other threats that came their way, they were all prepared to tackle whatever Pocket Monster may attack them with their Pokemon beside them, ready to act on command. But they weren't prepared for the appearance. Bursting out of the smoke was none other than the Swollen Pokemon. The Bug-Fighting-Type. The Macho Mosquito. The Beefy Bug. The Buzzwole. And dear Arceus, this thing is overwhelming to look at. Bug-Types are usually considered to be the weakest type ever with every other type outclassing them. Even Normal-Types are considered stronger. But not this bug. Just seeing it throws out every saying about bugs being puny and weak. It was so breathtaking to look at that the ponies didn't even keep their guard up. But how could they? Seeing Buzzwole for the first time would make anyone defenceless. By looks alone, it is a fierce-looking Pokemon by default. What's worse is that in its own world, they're common. Essentially, the Rattata's of their world. You could only imagine the poor upstart trainer who decides to set out on their journey for the first time with boundless energy and joy, only to be greeted by this specimen. The ponies were still paralyzed in awe by the sight of Buzzwole. "It's...It's...Sweet Celestia..." Rarity was sweating bullets as she wiped the sweat off her forehead with a napkin. "What is that...that...thing?" Rainbow Dash's hoof was stuttering as she and Scootaloo pulled out their Pokedex. What could it possibly say about this Ultra Beast? "Buzzwole. The Swollen Pokemon. This Ultra Beast appeared from another world. It shows off its body, but whether that display is a boast or a threat remains unclear. Witnesses saw it pulverize a dump truck with a single punch. Although it’s alien to this world and a danger here, it’s apparently a common organism in the world where it normally lives. Buzzwole is also capable of draining energy with a single absorption that takes no effort. It is a one of a kind Ultra Beast." "Woah! A Buzzwole is here?!" Ash exclaimed. "Pika?!" "Why is it so..." Pinkie Pie paused for a moment, absolutely flabbergasted. "Jacked." "Well, Buzzwole's overwhelming like that." Ash nodded. "Pika-Pikachu." "Wait!" Rainbow Dash snapped out of it as she and other ponies couldn't stop looking at its muscles. "We can't get distracted! If it's an Ultra Beast, then let's take-" "Hold on!" Ash suddenly stopped her. "Buzzwole isn't like that." "It's not?" Twilight turned to him. "Nope. Take a closer look." Ash pointed over at the Swollen Pokemon, causing the ponies to hold their attacks back. As the dex says, Buzzwole is a Pokemon that just loves to show off its muscles. And show off it did. "Buzz!" The Swollen Pokemon raised its muscular arms up, pulling off the standard Front Double Biceps pose. "SWOLE!" It then performed a Side Chest by rotating its body towards one side whilst also displaying its shoulder arm and forearm size. The force of the Side Chest had caused a wind pressure that blew everypony's manes in the wind. "Well...it's not hurting anypony. But so maybe its...Oh my..." Fluttershy covered her face, unable to take the insane muscles of Buzzwole. "Buzzwole's only here for one reason. To show off. And boy does it love showing off." Ash explained. "Does it have to show off its muscles here? Can't it do it somewhere else?" Mayor Mare said to Ash. "I wish it was that easy..." Ash sighed. "The last Buzzwole me and Pikachu met was stressed out since it wasn't in its original homeworld so it just flexed its muscles to cool its mind. But this one looks like it doesn't care where it is.." "It is a pretty passive Pokemon so far...well...not so passive in looks," said Fluttershy. "Do we just stand here and do nothing then?" Rainbow Dash whispered. "I mean...I'll admit. It is pretty cool on how its flexing and all but...What if it attacks all of a sudden?" "Swole!" Buzzwole suddenly turned its head towards Rarity's direction, focusing all its attention towards the unicorn. "Eeep! It's looking at me!" Rarity shuddered as she hid behind Rainbow Dash and Ash. "Don't worry, Rarity! The dex says this guy's a Bug-Fighting-Type. Braviary's gonna make quick work of it!" Rainbow held out her Poke Ball that contained Braviary. The others prepared themselves with their Pokemon standing by, preparing for the absolute worst. Then with a spurt of speed, Buzzwole had moved from the spot it had stood on for so long, leaving behind a large dust cloud. Before Rainbow Dash could send Braviary out or even before the ponies could give a command, Buzzwole had passed right through them. Rarity screeched, ducking for cover as she believed Buzzwole had attacked her. But to her and everypony's surprise, it hadn't. Instead, Buzzwole only ran towards Rarity for one reason only. So that it could grab her mirror. "Buzz!" "...Huh?" Rarity was puzzled on why the Swollen Pokemon would even want her mirror in the first place. Then the reason was revealed. To show off even more. "Buzzwole!" It looked itself in the mirror, flexing off its muscles once more and just exhibiting raw power with each flex. "Oh...Is that why." Rarity let out a huge sigh of relief. "I guess that confirms it. It's not a hostile Pokemon. Just a huge showoff." Twilight nodded. Everypony in Ponyville also had their own sighs of relief they let out. They were glad that for once, a brand new Pokemon arriving and causing a scene wasn't here to harm anypony. It was just here to flex and show off how awesome its muscles were. "I'm taking back everything I said about Bug-Types. That thing's crazy to look at!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed. "And very...staggering." Fluttershy kept covering her eyes. "Well you know...its muscles are impressive but...It's not all that..." Rainbow Dash scoffed it off as she laid on her back. "It's not all that... It's not all that... it's not all that..." The words that Rainbow Dash spoke had travelled through Buzzwole's ears. Words that she shouldn't have said. Everypony and Pokemon gasped, placing their hooves, hands and whatever limbs they have on their mouths. They knew by the way Buzzwole turned its head, it was a horrible choice of words from Rainbow. After hearing Buzzwole's dex entry, everypony could come to the conclusion that it probably wasn't a good idea to prove it. At all. "What?" Rainbow Dash looked at how everypony was performing the same pose. "What is it?" "Rainbow Dash...You shouldn't have said that..." Fluttershy whimpered. "Why? What's the big deal?" "BUZZ!" Buzzwole's voice had been raised at Rainbow Dash, prompting the multi-coloured maned mare to turn around with a startle. "Swole..." Buzzwole pointed its fingers at Rainbow Dash out of disdain. "Why did you have to say that? There are two types of boasters. The ones who respond out of jealousy...and the ones who respond out of anger!" Twilight quivered in fear, ducking for cover. " "What's the big deal? Trixie used to flex and boast a lot. What makes this guy so different?" "The difference between Trixie and Buzzwole is that Trixie isn't a 7 foot, muscle-bound beefcake like Buzzwole!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Didn't you hear what the dex entry said about it?!" "Oh come on! A dump truck? Please! Machamp can do better than this oversized bug! Brawly's Hariyama could even do the same thing as well!" "Rainbow Dash! Please do not provoke the muscular mosquito!" Rarity screamed. "Buzzwole!" Buzzwole was clearly unhappy about Rainbow Dash's words. The Swollen Pokemon had gone up to a building, slamming its fist through the window. Why it did was not out of hostility, but instead, to retrieve a quill and a piece of paper to write on. "Buzz!" "Wha-My home!" Cream Heart gasped. The Ultra Beast then began writing aggressively on the paper, almost burning it from the insane speed its hand moved at. Everypony watched as they saw it write down in both human and pony language with ease. It was a fairly intelligent Pokemon after all. "Swole!" The Swollen Pokemon showed them the paper, allowing the ponies to read the words written on it. "Let's see..." Twilight brought the paper to her with magic. "If you think my awesome space-shattering muscles aren't all that, then let's see you do any better. I challenge you to a Macho-Beast competition! Courtesy of my homeworld!" "Nice, going Dash." Applejack nudged Rainbow. "You've just got yourself into something you can't get out of now." "Seriously?! I didn't think it would take it that hard!" "Buzzwole's a Pokemon that prides on its muscles. Underestimating them is the last thing you wanna do." Ash said. "Pikachu." "Buzz!" Buzzwole gave her the 'Come here' hand gesture. The Swollen Pokemon was willing to prove her wrong. Rainbow Dash being the competitive pony that she is would accept this...but...she wasn't so sure this time. Instead of competing to show her stuff off, she would be competing to have her opposing competitor prove her wrong. "Alright, so I didn't know it got touchy from saying that. Cut me some slack." She groaned. "Swole" Buzzwole grabbed the paper from Twilight, writing on it once more. Once it showed them the new words, Twilight read them out as they said... "You will be forgiven if you prove that you're capable enough to match me in feats." "What do you think, Rainbow? Do you accept its challenge?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Hmm...I am kinda curious about what a Macho-Beast Competition is...I'll give it a shot for a while. If it means getting this thing to forgive me." "Swole!" Buzzwole raised his muscles up, glad that Rainbow Dash accepted the challenge. But the question is, what were the activities of the Macho-Beast Competition? They were all about to find out. The first challenge was a test of pulling strength. Buzzwole had gathered two trees together by ripping them out of the ground and placing them both on its side and Rainbow Dash's side. The Swollen Pokemon then pointed all the way over to the location of the Pokemon House. "Buzz!" "Oh...I get it." Twilight figured it out. "Buzzwole wants to see who can pull the trees the furthest to the Pokemon House! "That's it? Pssh. That's not so bad." Rainbow Dash scoffed. "I can pull a tree no problem!" "I don't think you should underestimate it, Rainbow Dash darling...Just look at it." Rarity pointed out Buzzswole's overwhelming muscles and how it was flexing to prepare itself. "I know. But I've been training with my Pokemon to improve my skills too. Going into Rainbow-Braviary that one time in Ponyville and that other time at Princess Celestia and Luna's birthday gave me a little boost, ya know." "If you say so...Just don't overexert yourself." Rarity warned. "You got it!" "Buzz!" Buzzwole had gotten itself ready, picking up the tree with its bare hands. "Here goes..." Rainbow Dash did the same as she placed her hooves on the tree, ready to pull it along. "Ready...?" Mayor Mare spoke, prepared to say those magic words. "GO!" "BUZZ!" Buzzwole took off like a rocket, leaving Rainbow Dash behind as it moved at high-speeds. The dust left behind got in Rainbow Dash's face, causing her to lose focus. Buzzswole was already long gone in the distance now. "HEY!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she quickly got a move on. To everypony's surprise, she could actually carry the tree. "Heh! Told ya!" And indeed it was. She was expecting to have a struggle lifting it but it turns out she was just that strong. But compared to Buzzwole, who was carrying it with one hand this time, her lifting strength didn't compare at all. However, Rainbow Dash could actually keep up with the Swollen Pokemon thanks to her speed output. She zoomed past Buzzwole, now leaving it in the dust instead. "Catch ya later!" Rainbow taunted, feeling good about herself when she realized that her speed was much better than the Ultra Beast's. She had reached the Pokemon House, placing the tree down whilst Buzzwole came last, dropping its tree next. "No way! She actually beat it?!" Twilight gasped in shock. She expected the opposite result since Buzzwole was played up to be an overwhelming force. "Of course she did! Rainbow Dash is just that great!" Scootaloo shook Twilight who's jaw was still wide open. "Hah! Looks like I can actually back it up!" Rainbow crossed her hooves, smirking as she looked down at the defeated Ultra Beast. "Buzzwole." Buzzwole crossed its arms in response, not sounding too bothered by it. It was off to the next challenge of feats. However, after they left, a Bunnelby and a Rattata from the Pokemon house had effortlessly picked up the tree as if it was nothing. Ash, Pikachu, Fluttershy and Twilight had actually noticed this, causing them to summon thoughts in their heads. The next challenge was a test of throwing strength. Who could throw the hardest or longest? One of the two is fine. The objects of choice this time were two large boulders. Buzzwole personally grabbed the two of them, handing one over to the opposing pony. So far, Buzzwole's been the one who's picked out the objects as a sort of kind gesture, despite the challenge it issued to Rainbow Dash. Strangely enough, similar to the first challenge, Buzzwole rushed off to find two of the same objects without anypony seeing him. Why he didn't just do it near them when there were nearby rocks and trees was a bit odd to them. But Ash, Fluttershy, Twilight and Pikachu might have a clue on why it did this. The way to excel in this challenge was to either see who can throw the boulders the longest distance, highest distance or, how much force they can exhibit from their throw. Which essentially means, who can cause a shockwave or make the air rupture a bit with a pressuring sound whilst the grass blows. That kind of force. "Swole!" Buzzwole had picked up the large boulder, juggling it around like a bouncy ball. Rainbow Dash gulped. She wasn't sure that she could lift something much larger than her at all. But if she could beat Buzzwole in the first test surely she could do it here in the second test. Buzzwole went first, chucking the boulder with the intention of height behind it. The length the boulder went was impressive. It managed to break through the clouds and even reach Cloudsdale a small bit. Just lightly connecting with the door of somepony's home. The boulder than crash-landed back down near them, leaving behind a smoke cloud afterwards. "Swole!" "Sheesh! It's gonna be tough to beat that one, Dashie!" Pinkie yelled from the crowd. "Yeah..." Rainbow nervously replied. She placed her hooves on the boulder, preparing to pick it up. Surprisingly, she could even effortlessly pick this boulder up as well. "Woah...I'm stronger than I thought...Here goes!" With all her might, she sent the boulder up into the air. And once she did, it easily exceeded Buzzwole's, breaking past Cloudsdale in a few seconds. If you look closely enough, you could even see that it was this close to breaking past the Earth itself. Everypony gawked in awe as the boulder came flying back down, crashing near Rainbow Dash in the end. "Yes! Two in a row!" She pumped her hooves. "Guess I'm more physically fit than you, huh?! What's next?" "She's actually winning against that thing? I didn't know Rainbow Dash was that strong." Rarity shook her head. "I didn't know you could chuck boulders that high." Pinkie gasped. "I've been missing out as a filly." "Uh, actually Rainbow Dash..." Twilight spoke. "This boulder is super light." She picked it up easily with her magic as she tossed it over to her Minccino, who was balancing it on her tail. "Minccino!" "...What...?" Rainbow's mouth stayed open. "Mhm. And that tree from earlier seemed to be lighter than the one Buzzwole carried. We saw the Pokemon over at the Pokemon House pick it up without any problem." "Huh?" Her mouth began opening up even more. "Hold on! Have you been giving me easy stuff to...make me look good?" "Buzz!" Buzzwole flexed his muscles, essentially replying with a 'Yes'. It then proceeded to show the gap in strength by easily sending both the tree and boulder far into the skies with just a flick, surpassing Rainbow Dash's height. It wasn't even close. "W-Why?" She stuttered. Buzzwole held the quill and paper once more, rapidly writing on it. This time it read, "Because it wouldn't be fair to upstage you. In truth, I dislike outperforming weaklings. I just prefer to flex." "Weakling?!" "Would ya look at that? This Buzzwole thing's actually a pretty nice fella." Applejack nudged Rainbow Dash. "Bit passive aggressive though..." "So then...You weren't actually upset when I said you weren't all that?" "Buzz!" Buzzwole shook its head aggressively. "Oh...Phew." Rainbow Dash let out a sigh of relief. "I must say. I can grow to like this thing." Rarity nodded her head. "A pony can really get enchanted by these overwhelming yet wondrous muscles." "Swole!" Buzzwole heard Rarity's compliments, showing off its muscles even more as it picked up the unicorn whilst posing at the same time. "See? Just like Dark-Types, not every Ultra Beast is aggressive." Ash went over to pat Buzzwole. "Some will attack you out of nowhere, but most just enjoy doing what they love best." "Oooh...Can I be picked up by Buzzwole?" Apple Bloom asked. Buzzwole granted her wish by picking her up as if she was a tiny little doll, placing her on its bicep. Other ponies wanted in on it too as they all managed to fit on each of Buzzwole's muscular arms as it was posing about now. The ponies can grow to like a Pokemon such as Buzzwole since it just loves to flex and nothing more. "You know I bet I could flex my muscles like that. Hrrngh!" Spike puffed his cheeks as he flexed his tiny little dragon muscles. "Nah, you gotta put more effort into it, like this!" Ash showed off his muscles along with Pikachu. "Pikachu!" "Swole. Buzzwole!" Buzzwole, being the showoff that it is, decided to juggled the ponies around. The size comparison was ridiculous. It could measure up to many Dragon-Types even. And yet, the ponies loved this swole bug. They grew an attachment to it. Buzzwole knew it was strong and muscular, and it revelled in it. If anything, this was one of the many Pokemon that could boast about how awesome and amazing it was and still get away with it. Buzzwole was just that amazing. But unfortunately, Buzzwole knew that it would have to return home soon. The Swollen Pokemon pointed up into the sky, indicating that its Ultra Wormhole was near. "Wait...are you leaving already, Buzzwole?" Fluttershy could tell Buzzwole's hand gestures and what they meant. "Swole!" Buzzwole wrote on the paper once more, letting the ponies understand. It read; "I must go. My planet needs me. But the time I had here was enjoyable. I will remember you all in my daily flexes Until we meet again, my little ponies." "Do you have to leave so soon?" Sweetie Belle asked. She looked up at Buzzwole, giving it puppy dog eyes. Buzzwole being the big softie that it was, decided to stay around for a just a little bit longer. Besides, the wormholes can't really close on their own at the moment thanks to Colress. After a bit of showing off via lifting up everypony and Pokemon nearby as if they were marbles, Buzzwole finally took its leave. It could tell where it came from originally so it knew where to go. "Goodbye, Buzzwole!" Fluttershy waved goodbye to the Ultra Beast. "Thanks for the competition! Even if I was underestimated..." Rainbow Dash said. "Buzz!" Buzzwole finally left, making a grand exit by running at ludicrous speeds. Once it ran off, all that was left was a dust cloud that spelt the Ultra Beast's name. "So cool..." Rainbow gawked. The third encounter with an Ultra Beast. But not one out of hostility or danger. Just one out of pure fun. Buzzwole is an interesting Ultra Beast. But then again, they're all interesting in their own way. Even though there are Ultra Beasts that are hostile and will attack anyone on sight, others such as Buzzwole only exist to enjoy what they love doing best. And it shows whilst all of Ponyville waves goodbye to the Muscular Mosquito as the journey continues. Chapter 213 End!
