The Story of Sunlight Blast

by Sunlight Blast

Prologue: You Ruined Me

“No! NO! Wait!” A mare cried. The hooded stallion turns around mid-flight and hisses.
“Shut it! Or do you want me to beat you and the useless foals bloody too?” The mare sniffles but then turns defensive.
“How could you want to leave us? My parents trusted you! I trusted you! I thought you would want to have a family with me. But now. . .” The stallion growls.
“Lower your voice! Or so help me Celestia, I will ruin your life in this very alley, Stormy Blast. I don’t think you want that,”
The mare glares at him.
“You are callous and uncaring, Shadow Racer. I hope you suffer!” The mare turns on her hooves, opens her turquoise colored wings, and soars away in the shadows, leaving Shadow Racer alone in the alley.

"Stormy! What happened? Where's Shadow Racer? Are you alright? Oh, baby, come in, the foals are hungry, and its freezing outside? What happened?" Stormy Blast's mother, Rainbow Dash, bombarded her with questions the minute the turquoise mare walked into the cloud house. Stormy felt tears welling up in her eyes.
"Mom. . .Mom!" She threw herself into her mother's warm embrace. Light sky blue hooves stroked her mane.
"Oh, baby," Rainbow mumbled. "Whatever happened?" Stormy sniffled before taking a breath and pouring out everything that happened to her mother, from falling in love with a fraud to him getting her pregnant and leaving. The older mare's magenta eyes widened with anger. Fury settled in her face, and her lips were pulled back in a snarl.
"Soarin! Tornado! Thunder, Lightning, you too! Get down here!" After a few minutes, Stormy's father, older brothers, and sister came down the stairs, saw the sight before them, and rushed to the two mares.
""Sweet Luna! What happened, Rainbow?" Soarin asked, hugging Stormy and looking incredulously at Rainbow. She hissed.
"Shadow Racer got her pregnant and left the second he was done with her. The son of a-!" She spat. The three's eyes widened.
"Stormy, is that true?" Her older brother, Tornado Warning questioned, fury blazing in his golden colored eyes. Stormy hiccupped and nodded. His eyes grew huge and he spread his wings, rising into the air.
"Where is he?! I swear to the Princesses I won't rest until I find him and make him pay!" Thunder rose in the air along with him.
"Yes. Stormy, where was he last? We can track him down from there." Lightning stated solemnly, her livid expression saying everything. Panic bubbled in Stormy. No, no, no! Absolutely not! Her family had no idea who he really was. Her foals would be in danger if she told them. She shot out of her mother's hooves and into the air beside her brother, sister and father.
"NO!" She erupted. Her family's faces were shocked.
". . . No? Stormy, he's a criminal! We need-" Soarin was cut off by his daughter's withering glare.
"You don't understand. Shadow Racer is - is - is - I can't explain it. But trust me, he is worse than a common criminal. He is literally a psychopath in the medical sense. He felt no remorse for anything, not one of his crimes, and he even threatened me again. He's almost as powerful as an Alicorn, even without magic. Most psychopaths can feel. . .something. Anything. At least 4 emotions. Him? He only feels anger, and callousness. He has no feelings except for that. his brain works almost like an Alicorn's magic. He is more dangerous than you think, guys. If we go looking for him, I don't even you could beat him, Mom. Please. If we leave him be, he won't bother us. Please. Let me and the foals live in peace. Please." She finished, begging her parents and brother. Tears streamed down her face again. The three of them exchanged looks. Soarin sighed.
"Alright then, Storm. We won't find him. In the meantime, until your new cloud art studio can get back on its hooves, you and the foals can stay here, with me and Mom. That cool?" Stormy Blast nodded, and wiped away her tears. Her father pulled her into a hug.
"Aw, don't worry. Everything will be fine, snowflake. Trust me." Stormy just sniffled. Then a thought shot through her. Her foals!
"Dad! I need to see my foals!" Stormy broke out of the hug and raced up the stairs into the makeshift nursery, where her two twin foals lay sleeping peacefully. The filly was golden like a blast of sunlight, and the little colt was silver like a blast of moonlight. They both had matching rainbow manes and tails, like their grandmother. The filly had a bigger light blue streak in her mane and tail, while the colt had a bigger dark blue streak in his. That's when it hit Stormy; her foals names.
"Oh, sweet Celestia," She whispered to them. "You're so adorable!" Neither woke up, but they both moved a little in their sleep toward their mother. Stormy wiped tears from her eyes again. Rainbow Dash, Tornado Warning, Lightning Strike, Thunder Bolt and Soarin Skies were at the nursery door, but all five had the respect to stay in the doorway. Stormy Blast smiled.
"Sweet dreams, my loves," she mumbled, and walked out to the doorway.
"Mama, can you get the two birth certificates? I know what to name them now." Rainbow nodded and dashed away to find them. Tornado, Lightning, Thunder and Soarin stared at her.
"You already thought of a name? But you said you had absolutely no idea, and wanted to wait until the first month," Tornado Warning pointed out. Stormy nodded.
"Yeah, I know. But their names just came to me, and I really think they're perfect," She said. Just then, Rainbow Dash came out with the two birth certificates and a pen. Stormy Blast took them and wrote down the names. The other three members of the family stared down at her as she wrote. She put down the pen and went to where her two darlings lay sleeping in their cloudy crib.
"Welcome, Sunlight Blast and Moonlight Blast."
