//------------------------------// // Spiritomb's rampage // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Spiritomb is on the loose. A Pokemon that absorbs the spirits of anyone it comes across, fueling its dark energy. Recently, it had just broken free from its keystone in Johto, setting out to find new victims to absorb. It started with the Crystal Empire once it found the gateway to the other world for the first time, absorbing many ponies who resided in the empire. It had almost been defeated by Cadence's Sylveon but it made a quick getaway, searching for more spirits to steal. It eventually made its way to Ponyville, coming across Carousel Boutique first. During its time there, it attacked Rarity and the Crusaders, attempting to absorb their spirits as well. Their Pokemon put up a good fight against the Forbidden Pokemon, dealing some damage to it due to them working together. Unfortunately, even with their combined efforts, Spiritomb managed to defeat them all, absorbing the spirits of both Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom into it. If Rarity's Leavanny's never came to the rescue at the last moment, then both she and Scootaloo would've been pulled into Spirtomb as well. At the moment, Spiritomb's whereabouts are unknown, but it's definitely still lurking somewhere in Ponyville, that's for sure, aiming to absorb more than just two spirits. As for Rarity and Scootaloo they had been taken to bed by Leavanny, resting up in the process. Now the Spiritomb threat continues. "Mrrgh..." Rarity's grumbled, slowly opening her eyes. Once she did, she noticed that her friends were all standing over here with their eyes locked on. "Everypony?" "Rarity! You're okay!" Spike exclaimed, giving his friend an embracing hug. "Leavann!" The Leavanny's all moved in for a group hug, glad that their trainer was up and healthy once more. Rarity took a moment to notice that the other pony in bed at the moment was none other than Scootaloo. Seeing that made her realize what had happened earlier. "SWEETIE BELLE!" Rarity exclaimed, jumping from the bed as she knocked Spike and the Leavanny's to the floor. "Where is she?! Where's that thing?!" "Wait, Rarity! Calm down!" Pinkie Pie uttered. "I can't calm down! Not after what has just happened!" Rarity jumped off the bed, preparing to set out. "Rarity! The Leavanny's have already told us what happened!" Fluttershy attempted to reason with her. "If they've told you about the situation, then we can't afford to waste any time! Where did it go?!" "Thing is...we would've gone out and searched for it but...we don't know where it is." Twilight lowered her head. "Applejack's currently doing her best to try and find this...Spiritomb Pokemon. We're all clueless as to where it went." Starlight explained. "What was the name of that Pokemon anyways...?" Rainbow Dash wondered. "Spiritomb. A Pokemon that steals spirits from others" Twilight answered. "I figured that when Fluttershy translated what the Leavanny said about a Pokemon that had pulled Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom in it by dragging their spirits as well, it had to be a Spiritomb. I've heard a lot and read about it. Right here." She showed them all a book containing legends of certain Pokemon. "Spiritomb is apparently a Pokemon that was formed by 108 spirits long ago. Around 500 years exactly. The mischief and misdeeds it caused had spread out so far for so many years that a traveller came by, placing a mysterious spell to bind Spiritomb to an odd keystone. This keystone not only restrains Spiritomb's true power but it even negates its ability to absorb spirits. This traveller had placed every single Spiritomb in existence under a spell to keep them all from causing any more mischief and chaos." "So that means..." Fluttershy shuddered. "The Spiritomb that attacked wasn't bound to its keystone at all!" Twilight closed the book. "What do we do?! Applejack's already off to find it! What if she gets pulled into it as well?!" Pinkie Pie pulled her mane, panicking. "I don't know! Stealing spirits is new territory for me! I didn't even know that was possible!" "M-Maybe Ash knows something about Spiritomb? He's the Pokemon expert after all, right?" Rainbow Dash suggested. "Right...but he's not here yet. I'm not even sure he's coming here today." Twilight sighed. "Then what do we do?" Starlight asked. "Alright..." Twilight took in a deep breath. "This time...we can't let it be a repeat of the Ultra Beasts and Ghetsis. The longer we stall, the more spirits Spiritomb steals. We'll have to take matters into our own hooves for once." Spiritomb's presence was currently known by the Crystal Empire, very soon Canterlot and the Mane 7. And if it wasn't stopped, in a few days, all of Equestria could become apart of Spiritomb's body, surpassing the 108 count. One thing was for sure, Spiritomb would still be in Ponyville. From what it could tell, there wasn't a single Fairy-Type in sight to stop it. As long as there are no fairies, Spiritomb feels like it's in the clear. Bug-Types are just a mere inconvenience to it. The Forbidden Pokemon wouldn't leave until it absorbed a good amount of spirits within its vicinity. Just absorbing Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom won't satisfy it. Applejack was doing exactly what the others described. She had already set out to find Spiritomb, searching every part of Ponyville for the Forbidden Pokemon. She had even passed through Everfree, but there was no luck at all. She tried looking for anything that seemed out of the ordinary. But everything was ordinary at the moment. Spiritomb isn't exactly a Pokemon that changes the world around it. "Oh...Apple Bloom..." Applejack clenched her teeth, building up high levels of fear and panic within her. She didn't want to lose her little sister. Not like this. But she just can't find a trace of Spiritomb anywhere. At least...not at the moment. The streets of Ponyville were completely active and populated at the moment, giving Spiritomb the opportunity to strike amidst the noise at any moment. The howling of Spiritomb echoed across the cold air of Ponyville's winter, causing even the snow itself to shake. The howls of Spiritomb were enough to send chills down everypony's spine. They had no clue what caused it though, completely unaware of the danger that lurks underneath. Twilight and her friends had gone outside, keeping an eye out for Spiritomb. Since they now know what it is capable of, they're making sure to keep their guard up at the absolute highest level. "Keep your eyes open girls. Ghost-Types are generally tricky to spot." Twilight said with her Pokemon doing the exact same. "But...where do we even start? What if we're too late to save Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle? And how will we know how to free them?!" Fluttershy bit her hooves, already in a state of panic. "Hey! Let's not lose hope already!" Rainbow Dash flew to her. "This time, we're not gonna let Pokemon get the better of us. No offence guys." She spoke to her Pokeballs and Castform. "Audi...Audino!" Audino's ears played a huge part in this since they would act as a Spiritomb tracker. Her huge feelers twitched, causing the Hearing Pokemon to turn her head in all directions. "What is it, Audi?! Did you find Spiritomb?!" Fluttershy flew up. "Dino..." Audino was in a bit of a tough situation. She could hear Spiritomb's howling and voice but she couldn't see it. One of the many advantages of being a Ghost-Type and part Dark. You blend in well with the shadows. However, even if she couldn't see the Forbidden Pokemon, she could track the direction of its howling. As such, the Pokemon to follow was Audino, who began running towards the howling. They spent minutes on end, trying to find the source of the howling. However, it was so inconsistent in volume and location that it was difficult for even a Pokemon such as Audino to track it down. They even attempted to ask some ponies if they had seen something matching Spiritomb's description at all. But nothing. Eventually, their rapid movements had led them to Applejack who also on the search for Spiritomb. And of course, she wasn't having any luck at all. "Did ya'll find anything?" Applejack asked. Her entire body was full of dirt and dust, indicating that she had been searching in every corner of the town. "Nothing yet. Audi's ears are having a tough time picking up on where the howling is coming from. She's not sure whether to go North, South, East or West." Fluttershy responded. "Audino..." "Can we even bring it out?" Rainbow Dash scratched her mane. "Maybe we can bring it out...with Fairy magic!" Twilight stomped her hooves as they all turned to her. "Spiritomb is said to be a part Dark. Which means that it's weak to Fairy! All we have to do is use Fairy-Types moves and hopefully, we can draw Spiritomb out of hiding! How many of us know Fairy-Type moves?" "Only three of my Slurpuff's known Fairy Wind." Pinkie Pie explained. "Audi doesn't have any Fairy Moves on her that can help, unfortunately. Even in her Mega Form." Fluttershy shook her head. "My Hatterene only knows Dazzling Gleam. That can cause something major," said Starlight. "Altaria's got Disarming Voice on her." Rainbow Dash answered. "I'm afraid that's the only amount Fairy-Type moves we have at our disposal, darling." Rarity sighed. "It'll have to do! Let's get ready!" Twilight exclaimed. Spiritomb's howling was suddenly growing louder in volume, indicating that at any point in time, it could pop out of the ground, absorbing spirits once more without any hesitation. And it wasn't unaware of the attempts to try and stop it. Being in the shadows meant that Spiritomb could see and hear everything around it. The Forbidden Pokemon was aware of Twilight and her friends attempting to thwart its spirit snatching plans. Clearly, Spiritomb wasn't going to let that happen. So what was the best action to deal with anyone who would try and stop it? Simple. Absorb them as well. Enough hiding. The time to strike was now. And strike it did. The Forbidden Pokemon revealed itself to Ponyville, letting out a horrifying scream once it burst out of the snowy ground. The same dark spiral it conjured up back in the Crystal Empire had emerged once more, startling everypony and forcing most of them to high-tail it out of the area, heading back indoors. However, the dark spiral had already pulled in 30 spirits from the amount of force it had been exhibiting, causing many ponies to scream as their spirits had been stolen along with their bodies. Their Pokemon attempted to help, but none of them could even stand up to Spiritomb as a single Dark Pulse made quick work out of all of them with one go. "It's out already?!" Starlight yelped, trotting backwards. "Then it's already asking for more trouble!" Rainbow Dash held out her Pokeball, sending out Altaria. "Tari!" "Disarming Voice!" "Alta!" The Humming Pokemon gaped its mouth wide open, sending a spiral of pink sound waves towards Spiritomb. The Forbidden Pokemon saw this coming from a mile away. So as a response, a Shadow Ball was unleashed in order to clash against Altaria's Disarming Voice, causing both attacks to cancel each other out. "You!" Applejack stepped forward along with Rarity. "You'd better release both our sisters!" "This instant!" Rarity bellowed. "Spirit? Spiritomb!" Spiritomb laughed at their words, finding it amusing that these cute little ponies are talking so big with such mature voices. "You won't be laughing for long! Hatterene! Dazzling Gleam!" "Fairy Wind!" "Spirit..." Spiritomb could see that five Fairy moves were about to absolutely demolish it in an instant. There was no way it was handling four of them at the same time. No chance. So, the Forbidden Pokemon had used a dirty trick to put a stop to the two attacks. What was this dirty trick? Spiritomb had projected Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and some of the Crystal Empire citizens inside of its body, screaming in eternal agony. "A-Apple Bloom?" Applejack gasped. "Sweetie Belle?!" Rarity winced. They could see the screaming faces of the ponies twist and turn around Spiritomb's eerie body. Their screams echoed through the air, sending a chill down their spines. Due to this, Hatterene and the Slurpuff's couldn't fire their attacks. The sounds of the ponies crying out for help was enough to startle them all, freezing them in place. "Spiritomb!" Hook line and sinker. They fell for it. Using the agony and pain of their friends in order to distract them was an effective trick. So effective that it allowed Spiritomb to make its move whilst their guard was down. Time to absorb some more souls. "Tomb!" "Esp?" Eve noticed that Spiritomb was headed straight for Twilight and the others, preparing to pull them all in. "Espeon!" The Sun Pokemon jumped in front of Twilight and her friends, protecting them from the Forbidden Pokemon. "Eve!" "Spiritomb!" Spiritomb viewed Eve as a mere inconvenience that could be dealt with in an instant. And she was. Spiritomb had fired a Dark Pulse down on Eve, dealing high amounts of damage to the Psychic-Type Eeveelution as her body was hit by a pulse full of dark thoughts that were powerful enough to mess with her mind. "Espeon!" Eve had been blown back by the Dark Pulse, tumbling on the ground as she had fainted. "Esp..." "Eve, no!" Twilight turned around to see her Pokemon all tattered up and unconscious. Obviously, this angered the young alicorn, prompting her to retaliate back. "Vulpix! Use Incinerate! Minccy! Aqua Tail!" "Vul!" The Fox Pokemon breathed scorching flames forward whilst the Chincilla Pokemon swung a tail surrounding by water, all in order to take out Spiritomb. However, this Spiritomb was smart enough to trick them. Not only that, but it's one of those Pokemon that doesn't follow the usual 4 moves rule that has been popularized with even Wild Pokemon. The Forbidden Pokemon had used Shadow Sneak to appear behind everypony by just simply using its shadow to do so, completely evading the Fire and Water moves. Now that Spiritomb was up close and personal with them from behind, it was a perfect time to start absorbing. It did this by extending its eerie body in size, casting a dark shadow over the little ponies and their Pokemon. Twilight and her friends gasped as they saw a purple and green energy looming over them with a devious smile along with it. "Fire Fang!" A voice flew through their ears. One that was familiar and friendly. It was none other than Mayor Mare and her Stoutland, biting onto Spiritomb's body with blazing fangs. "Stout!" "S-Spiritomb!" Spiritomb felt that one for sure. The Fire Fang from Mayor Mare's Stoutland forced the Forbidden Pokemon to back away from the little ponies. "Are you all alright?!" She rushed to their aid. "We're fine! Thanks, Mayor!" Twilight thanked her. "Altaria! Use Disarming Voice!" Rainbow Dash commanded. The Dragon-Flying-Type took herself higher into the skies, firing a spiral of magical sound waves down on the Forbidden Pokemon. Finally, they were gaining the upper hoof on Spiritomb. "Now! Use Dazzling Gleam, Hatterene!" "Hatt..." Hatterene channelled her magic into one spot, unleashing a bright sparkling light from its body as it raced towards Spiritomb. Finally, Spiritomb had been struck by two powerful Fairy-Type attacks, forcing it to be pushed back. However, even a powerful Fairy-Type move such as Dazzling Gleam couldn't take out this particular Spiritomb. Spiritomb had a change of plans. Hatterene and Slurpuff were the biggest threats here. Might as well eliminate them. To do this, the Forbidden Pokemon had used Double Team to split itself into multiple illusionary clones of itself, throwing them all off guard. "W-Which one is the real one?!" Fluttershy yelped with her eyes shifting across the area. "We'll find out...Altaria! Use Disarming Voice! All around!" "Altaria!" The Humming Pokemon spun her body around whilst echoing an enchanting voice. The spinning sound wave had gotten rid of some the illusionary clones, slowly revealing Spiritomb to them all. However, the real Spiritomb had phased through the ground, sneaking up behind Rainbow Dash via Shadow Sneak. All the clones had been destroyed, but Spiritomb was nowhere to be seen. "Where'd it go?!" Rainbow Dash gasped. What she and the others didn't know was that Spiritomb was already right behind the blue pegasus. "Audi...? Audi! Audino!" Audino had heard Spiritomb's, cackling turning around to see that it was right behind Rainbow Dash. But before she could warn the pegasus, Spiritomb had finally gained its third victim from Ponyville. Rainbow Dash had her spirit forced out of her body from behind, pulling both her spirit and body into its eerie dark body, adding an extra spirit to its spirit count. "RAINBOW DASH!" The girls all yelled in shock. "TOMB!" Spiritomb was satisfied with the number of ponies it had absorbed. It was close to 108 due to this town's fill. However, Spiritomb could also realize that it couldn't stay here any longer. Not all these Fairy-Type Pokemon and moves posing a threat to it. So it was time to head off to the next location to absorb some more spirits. The Forbidden Pokemon became one with the shadows, moving across the ground, leaving only its eerie howling that Audino kept on picking up. But this time, Spiritomb had put a stop its howling, making sure that Audino would no longer hear its cries. Twilight's jaw dropped as she had just seen her friend pulled into the abyss that was Spiritomb's body. Everypony else was flabbergasted as a large majority of Ponyville was now missing, with very few left. It all happened so fast without warning and they could barely take it down despite having super-effective moves at its disposal. All they could do was stand there in shock at what had just happened. Spiritomb's next location was unknown to them all. But it certainly knew where it wanted to head first. It spotted Canterlot in the far distance, recognizing it as a highly-populated area due to its structure. So the obvious option is to absorb the spirits there too. And once it finally reaches 108 spirits, it can cause as much mischief and misdeeds as it wants without anyone stopping it this time as the journey continues! Chapter 207 End!
