Soft as a Pillow

by Gregory the Griffon

Soft as a Pillow

Gregory and Cloudy Sky are the very best of friends since elementary, they've been together ever since. No matter where they go, they’ll always be together. Right now, they’re in college studying at Cloudsdale Flight Academy in Cloudsdale. Their other best friend, Cobalt Lantern, was at Canterlot, also studying in college. It doesn’t matter for them, they can always visit each other some other time, maybe during the weekends, vacation, or holiday. Gregory and Cloudy Sky were also roommates, so they can hang out with each other, especially when it comes to assignments or projects. They’re currently in their second year, and more of their tasks are needed to be accomplished soon. College life is difficult, of course, they can handle it on their own.

It was already nighttime, 9:30 p.m. to be precise, the full moon shines brightly on the school grounds. Cloudy Sky was laying on her bed reading a comic book about Power Ponies, while Gregory was at his desk studying Mathematics with his textbook opened and highlighted and a lamp beside him turned on to see the text clearly. As he kept studying, he yawned out loud and stretched his arms, legs, and wings high to get some comfort. Of course, it was late, he’s really getting tired, especially for Cloudy Sky even though she’s just reading a comic book instead of studying. Gregory placed a bookmark on a specific page where he paused and closed the book. As he organizes his stuff on the desk, Cloudy Sky heard the soft thumps of the books and lowered her comic book to see her best friend arranging the textbooks. She gave herself a smile, thinking about him being friends for a long time. She placed her book on her side desk and started to speak at him.

“You're done already?” Cloudy asked him, and Gregory faced her.

“Yep,” Gregory replied, with a tired sigh. “I’ve been here for like hours with my eyes glued to the pages, and my flank feeling a bit sore on that chair.” He then turned towards her bed, and sat down beside her.

“Yeah, I noticed that. At least you’re trying though.”

“What about you? You’ve been here on that bed reading that comic book for… I don’t know, like… 4 hours?” he jokingly exclaimed. And they both laughed.

“I know, I’m just saying, okay?”

“That’s okay, Cloudy. I understand. You’re my best friend.” Gregory then playfully bumped his elbow on her side.

“You too.” She gave it back to him and chuckled. They both smiled at each other.

Gregory stood up from her bed and got up to his. He laid his back down on the mattress, with his yellow claws sandwiched between his feathered head and soft pillow. He then let out a relaxed sigh and made himself comfortable. “So, what do you wanna do tomorrow?” he asked her. “Since tomorrow is Saturday.”

“I don’t know, Greg,” she replied, “I have nothing in mind for the weekend. You?”

“Nope, me neither,” he said in a neutral tone. “I’m just asking as well.”

“Sure.” She then sighed a little bit and lay down on the mattress.

Silence filled the air for 30 minutes, except for the yawns and the breathings from them. Gregory and Cloudy Sky were still on their beds with their eyes open facing the empty blank ceiling. None of them were that sleepy. As they’re still in their positions, Cloudy Sky then faces towards her friend, thinking about what something to do with him. Well, she’s the more sporty one, but she can always have soft sides. She remembers how soft he was when he first hugged her for a second. It feels like she's cuddling with a live fluffy stuffed animal. She was going to tell him, but the problem is that what’ll he react when she says that she’ll cuddle with him. What will he do? Laugh? Tease? Who knows? Because he’s her best friend, and friends never tease each other. He never bullied her and others. Cloudy Sky remembered that she and Cobalt Lantern saved him from those four jerks before in elementary. She was the one who carried him to the clinic to help make him feel better from the bruises he had. And she also remembered one time where he saved her from a horrible accident, she would’ve died if he’s too late to save her. She truly understands how deep his relationship with her as a true friend, he truly cares for his friends, even when they’re apart. Now she knows, she’s ready to tell him. She took a deep breath and called Gregory to get his attention.

“Psst!” Cloudy Sky called. “Greg!”

Gregory heard her call and turned his head to face her.

“Yes, Cloudy?”

“So……” Cloudy paused, trying to think of something to say to him. “Do… Do you remember when me and Cobalt Lantern saved you from those 4 dudes? You know, when we first met you.”

“Yes, I remember that,” he said, with a slight smile on his beak. “Cobalt just blocked that hoof with his magic right when he was going to punch my eye. I felt relieved when he did that.”

“You saw him levitating them, and I came in to get you up.”

“Yeah, you did. I felt thankful for both of you.”

“Of course you do, we just don’t want you to get hurt by them. These guys just don’t know how to show respect.” Gregory nodded slowly.

“I agree.” Gregory sighed. “I just hope that they’ll reform. I haven’t seen them since high school.”

“Yeah, it has been a while since we last saw them.” They both chuckled a little.

“Do you also remember that I saved you from that giant piece of debris from the building at the park?”

“Oh yes, I almost died from that scene. Thank goodness you acted quickly.”

“I sure did,” he said. “Trying not to brag here. If I didn’t do that, I would rather regret just standing there feeling melancholy for you.”

“I see that.” Gregory and Cloudy Sky stayed silent again for another 5 minutes, this time with crickets chirping in the starry night and birds whistling peacefully on the branches. And once again, they stared at the blank ceiling. She sighs softly with an uneasy look while her heart pumps softly to the beat. Again, she knew that he’s not going to tease her if she says that. Once again, she took a deep breath, sat up straight, and faced her green-feathered friend.

“You know, Greg.”

“Hmm?” He faced her again.

“Actually…, I was trying to ask you something other than that.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well… uhhh…”

“Go ahead. I’m listening.”

She sighed. “You’re not gonna laugh when I say this, right?”

Gregory nodded left and right. “Of course not. You can always be open to yourself.”

“Okay…” She then breathed in and out for a while, and started explaining. “... I was thinking that… that I wanna cuddle with you.”

This really made his eye pupils shrink when he heard it. “Uhh… I’m sorry?”

“I… I said I really want to have a cuddle with you.” She then grabbed her pillow and pressed her face with it in embarrassment. “I’m sorry, Greg,” she muffled.

“Cuddle? What’re you sorry about telling me you want to cuddle?”

Cloudy Sky then put down her pillow, and started to explain. “Greg…, I want to confess how soft you were since you first hugged me. From your feathers, to your fur and your wings, I really, really wanna cuddle with you so badly. But I’m afraid to tell you this before because…… it’s just that I’m worried that you’ll either tease me or laugh at me for saying this. I’m afraid that…”

“That I might feel repelled?” he said, finishing her sentence.

“Yes. That one.” She looked away from him, feeling the embarrassment inside after she fessed up the whole thing. When Greg finished listening to the whole explanation from her best friend, he immediately felt adored. He felt really pleased for her when she said that she really wanted to cuddle with him so badly because of how soft his whole body is. He noticed that she’s really abashed. And so, to help her make things better, he sat up and talked to her.

“Cloudy, of course I’ll never tease you.” She heard him speak and faced him. “Have I ever insulted you before?” he asked.

She then thinks about it. Going back way before, she remembered how nice and kind this griffon is. She didn’t even hear anything mean and foolish from him for her, and the jokes he made made them laugh.

“No,” she replied softly.

“No, I didn’t. See? True friends don’t bully or tease each other. And I’m still here with you. I’ll always be your side, no matter what.” With his encouragement, she felt very relieved.

“Thanks, Greg.”

“And…” Greg blushed a little bit, “and regarding that, of course, I can cuddle with you.”

“You will?” she asked, feeling shocked.

“I will.” The green griffon then shifted to his right of his bed to have more space. “Come here,” he told her.

She then got up from her bed and climbed up to his bed. They then both put themselves in a comfortable position. “Feeling good?” he asked.

“I actually do,” she replied, and then gazed at his fluffy green chest and blushed slightly. “Oh my, your chest looks sooooo puffy.”

Gregory then noticed it and faced her again. “Thank you. I kinda groomed myself well.”

She then rubbed her hooves on it, and the sense of softness came to her nerves. She has never felt something that was so soft. “Hmm,” she said in pleasure, “I never knew your chest was as soft as a pillow. It’s amazing.”

“Never knew it as well, to be honest.” They chuckled a little bit.

A little while later, she then completely wrapped her hooves around his body and pressed her face on it, nuzzling his very fluffy light-green feathers. Greg, meanwhile, was blushing and was really enjoying her nuzzling him. He was very happy for her.

“You’re tired?” Gregory asked her softly. Cloudy then looked up facing him.

“A little bit,” she replied, with a yawn. “I’m just glad that I am able to touch and feel this cute, fluffy bird.”

“Oh, please,” he chuckled, giving her a little push, while having a slight blush on his face, “don’t call me ‘cute’.”

“Why not?” she said in a flirty tone. “Birds are adorable, especially in hybrids like you.”

“Yep. Made sense.” His arms are now wrapped around her torso, together with her wings. And his head on her shoulder. He then rubbed her back softly, making her shiver down to her spine. Cloudy has never felt this kind of sensation in her body before, it felt like she was in paradise. With that, Cloudy then pushed him forcibly down to the sheets, making him lay down on the mattress, with Cloudy on top of him, and both of their torsos pressed against each other.

“You should’ve warned me that.”

“No promises,” Cloudy softly said. She then once again pressed her face against her friend’s fluffy chest, this time giving it a raspberry. This also made him shiver down his spine. Her arms and hooves are softly rubbing his back and sides, and Gregory did the same thing as well to her. With that, both of their wings opened up and they twitched and flapped intensively, including their tails swishing back and forth.

Seconds turned to hours, and hours turned to days. Their hearts are as warm as a fire. It felt really amazing for them. Their breaths touched their skins, their furs were covered with some sweat, and their bodies are still glued against each other. The white moon rays illuminate the dorm room with silhouettes of tree branches and green leaves being visible on the soft carpet floor and owls hooting from their boughs in the gloaming dark. The alarm clock made ticking sounds from seconds that have passed, bedsheets and blankets were crumpled, stacked, and wrapped around with their bodies and pillows. The fun still goes on.

Cloudy Sky couldn’t even control herself nuzzling him for the whole night, it’s just so soft and smooth. The feathers, the fur, everything she felt from Gregory was sensational. For him, meanwhile, doesn’t even mind her rubbing, nuzzling, or raspberrying him, Gregory was really enjoying himself as well as his best friend. Like he said: no matter what, he’ll always be beside her.

Gregory then noticed that the alarm clock beside him was already struck at 11:27 p.m. They’ve been doing this for like 2-3 hours of cuddling. He patted her shoulder to get her attention.

“Cloudy,” he called.

“Yes?”

“I… I guess we better go to sleep now.”

“Really?” She looked at the alarm clock for the time, realizing that it was already late. “Oh. It was getting late.”

“I know, right. We’ve been here for like 2 hours.” They both chuckled softly while smiling.

“Yeah, I guess I have to rest my eyes now.”

“Me too.” Gregory then shifted his sleeping position to his right, got his blanket, wrapped himself to cover, and closed his eyes. “Goodnight, buddy.”

While he slept, Cloudy Sky sat there for a while. She smiled as she thought of all of the softness she had felt while she’s snuggling with him a while ago. She was glad that he accepted her to do that, her heart flutters while feeling that sensation she has felt. Then, there came something that she hasn't thought of yet. She gazed at the sleeping griffon once again, and tapped his torso to wake him up.

“Greg,” she said, waking him up.

“Yes? What is it?” he asked, still in his sleeping position without facing her.

“I know this sounds weird, but…… can I sleep with you?” Greg then faced her, with a sleepy grin.

“If that's what you want from me, of course, you can. Go ahead.”

“Oh, thank you so much.” she exclaimed quietly.

“Come here, you.”

Cloudy then laid down very close to him, close to his back, and removed the blanket slightly. She held up her arms and legs and gripped them on his sides, with her hooves reaching his belly and chest, especially her wings. Her torso’s now pressed against his back. With the softness of his green fur, her whole body warmly shivers. Gregory, while he’s still in his position, felt her shiver. Her hooves are now gently rubbing his chest, and he felt the pleasure inside him filling. Likewise, she pressed her face against his back nuzzling it.

“Goodnight, Greg,” Cloudy Sky whispered.

Goodnight, Cloudy,” Gregory whispered back to her. “Sweet dreams!”

“You too. Cute birb.”
