The next day Turquoise woke up ready for the second day of the Dragon’s Cup. As soon as Turquoise arrived the other seven trainers who made it were not far behind. As soon as the crowd filled the seats the announcer declared the start of day two.
“ Welcome everyone to day two of the Dragon’s Cup. Let us introduce the trainers for the first match. First All the way from Unova is Rick,” The announcer said as Rick took his position. “ And his opponent the Pyramid king of the Battle Pyramid Brandon. As soon as both trainers were ready the battle started.
“ Regidraco I need your assistance,” Brandon said as he called out Regidraco.
“ That thing again? Is that the only pokemon you have?” Rick said.
“ This is the only pokemon I need,” Brandon said.
“ Suit yourself. Go Tyrantrum,” Rick said as he called out a brown T-rex-like creature with a white patch on its jaw and around its neck. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for this one.
“ Tyrantrum. The Despot Pokemon. A single bite of Tyrantrum’s massive jaws will demolish a car. This Pokémon was the king of the ancient world,” The Pokedex said.
“ Tyrantrum use Ice Fang. Tyrantrum rushed at Regidraco with fangs made of ice which did not intimidate Brandon.
“ Dodge and use Hammer Arm. Regidrago dodged Tyrantrum’s attack and caused one of its arms to glow before delivering a powerful hit on the head to Tyrantrum.
“ Can you still fight?” Rick asked with Tyrantrum nodding yes. “Then use Dragon Tail while that thing is still close. Tyrantrum’s tail was covered in blue energy before it swung at Regidraco and sent it back.
“ Not bad but that won’t be enough. Regidraco use Dragon Energy and end this. Regidraco’s arms merged into a Dragon head before unleashing Dragon Energy on Tyrantrum which caused it to faint.
“ Tyrantrum is unable to battle Regidraco is the winner which means Brandon wins the match,” The ref said while pointing his left flag at Brandon. Rick left the field feeling upset about his defeat. As he was leaving he passed Turquoise.
“ We may not be able to battle each other today but I promise you we will battle in the Indigo League,” Rick said. As soon as Turquoise took her position she noticed Selina was waiting for her.
“ Looks like we will have our rematch after all,” Selina said.
“ Yeah well don’t think you’re going to win like last time,” Turquoise said.
“ If both trainers are ready, call out your pokemon,” The Ref said.
“ Go Gabite,” Selina said as she called out her star pokemon.
“ Go Altaria,” Turquoise said as she called out her Altaria.
“ Since when did you have that?” Selina asked in shock.
“ Since I caught her in the Safari Zone,” Turquoise said. “ Altaria use Dragon Breath. Altaria unleashed a stream of blue fire at Gabite.
“ Gabite use Double Team. Gabite split into multiple copies in order to dodge Dragon Breath. Selina thought she dodged it until Turquoise did something unexpected.
“ Altaria use Dragon Breath while spinning. Altaria spun around while using Dragon Breath which created a scatter burst that not only hit all the copies but the real Gabite as well.
“ Impressive move but we are far from done. Gabite use Dual Chop. Gabite leaped at Altaria with one of its claws glowing.
“ Like we are going to let that happen. Altaria use Sing. Altaria sang which caused the notes created by Sing to hit Gabite and put it to sleep.
“ Come on Gabite wake up,” Selina shouted but to no avail.
“ Our turn to end it. Altaria use MoonBlast. Altaria fired her Moon Blast which not only nailed Gabite but also caused it to faint.
“ Gabite is unable to battle Altaria is the winner which means Turquoise wins the match,” The ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.
“ We did it,” Turquoise said joyfully.
“ You may have beaten me this time but just you wait I will triumph over you at the Grand Festival,” Selina said before leaving. The next two matches were intense with both Clair and Iris winning.
“ And that’s it for the second round folks. We will have a one-hour intermission to give our four semi-finalists some time to rest up for the next round, “The Announcer said before updating the bracket. Turquoise was not surprised to see who she would be facing next.
“ I guess it’s now my turn to face the dragon orb thing no one has seen before,” Turquoise said to herself. Turquoise began mentally remembering everything about Regidraco she saw and then formulated her strategy. As soon as the intermission was over Turquoise proceeded to the Battlefield and took her position.
“ And now ladies and gentlemen our first semi-final match will be between the newcomer Turquoise and the Pyramid King Brandon,” The Announcer said as Brandon approached the battlefield.
“ I hope you can give me a better challenge than my last two opponents,” Brandon said.
“ Oh I will,” Turquoise said.
“ Battle begin,” The Ref said.
“ Regidraco I need your Assistance,” Brandon said as he sent out Regidraco.
“ Go Dragonair,” Turquoise said as she called out Dragonair.
“ Regidraco let’s start with Dragon Claw. Regidraco charged at Dragonair with both of its arms glowing with blue energy.
“ Dodge and use Thunder Wave. Dragonair slithered out of the way before unleashing Thunder Wave on Regidraco which successfully paralyzed it.
“ Not bad but that won’t work. Regidraco use Hammer Arm. Regidraco despite being paralyzed managed to unleash Hammer Arm.
“ Keep dodging Dragonair. Regidraco kept swinging and missing which began to tire it out.
“ You put up a good fight but it’s time to end this. Regidraco use Dragon Energy. Regidraco tried to use its finishing move but the Paralysis stopped it from doing so.
“ Your right it is time to end this. Dragonair use Dragon Rush. Dragonair charged at Regidraco while cloaked in draconic energy. Regidraco tried to move but could not due to the paralysis which resulted in not only getting hit but falling forward on its face.
“ Regidraco is unable to battle. Dragonair is the winner which means Turquoise wins the match,” The ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise. Suddenly Dragonair began to glow. Turquoise knew this meant Dragonair was evolving. Dragonair’s body began to expand and sprout wings before changing shape. When the flash died down a big orange dragon was standing where Dragonair used to be. Naturally, Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for information.
“ Dragonite. The dragon Pokemon and the evolved form of Dragonair. This Pokémon is known as the Sea Incarnate. Figureheads that resemble Dragonite decorate the bows of many ships,” The Pokedex said.
“ And you also learned a new move,” Turquoise said with joy.
“ Regidraco return,” Brandon said as he recalled Regidraco before approaching Turquoise. “ Young lady, that was a great battle. Good luck with the final round. I have a professor to check in with about my findings on Regidraco. Brandon left the stadium while Turquoise returned to the back to watch the second round of the semi-finals. The battle between Clair and Iris was intense with both masters of dragon-Types giving it their all. After an intense battle, Iris won in the end.
“ And that’s it for the Semi-Finals ladies and gentlemen. The final match will be between Turquoise and Iris,” The Mc shouted as the bracket was updated. “ We will have a thirty-minute intermission to give both our finalists some time to rest and heal their pokemon. After the intermission was over both Turquoise and Iris took their positions on the battlefield.
“ I must say I wasn’t expecting you to make it this far,” Iris said.
“ I wasn’t expecting to run into you again,” Turquoise said.
“ Well in any case let’s give it our all,” Iris said.
“ Battle begin,” The Ref said.
“ Go Haxorus,” Iris said as a big green and black creature with sharp blades on its head came out and unleashed a mighty roar. Turquoise checked her Pokedex for more info.
“ Haxorus. The Axe Jaw Pokemon. Its resilient tusks are its pride and joy. It licks up dirt to take in the minerals it needs to keep its tusks in top condition,” The Pokedex said.
“ Go Altaria,” Turquoise said as she sent out her Altaria. “ Let’s start with Dragon Breath. Altaria unleashed her Dragon Breath which was heading towards Haxorus.
“ Haxorus use Dragon Dance. Haxorus spun around which created an air current as he spun faster thus sending the Dragon Breath back. “ Now use Dragon Claw. Haxorus took off at high speed and then leaped into the air and successfully struck at Altaria.
“ Altaria use MoonBlast. Altaria fired her Moon Blast only for Iris to react to it.
“ Haxorus use Outrage. Haxorus began to stomp around and then ran recklessly at Altaria while knocking the Moonblast out of his way. After constantly hitting Altaria he began to look confused.
“ Now is our chance. Altaria use Sing. Altaria sang her song which managed to put Haxorus to sleep. “ Now use Moonblast. Altaria unleashed her Moonblast while Iris was yelling for Haxorus to wake up to no avail. Despite taking some heavy damage from Moonblast, Haxorus was still standing and awake.
“ Looks like we both took major damage,” Iris said.
“ Looks like it,” Turquoise said in agreement.
“ Shall we end this?” Iris asked.
“ Let’s,” Turquoise said.
“ In that case time for our ultimate attack. Haxorus use Draco Meteor. Haxorus pointed his mouth upward and then fired a ball of energy which exploded and unleashed a scattershot of meteors.
“ Altaria dodge those meteors and use Take Down. Altaria managed to dodge the meteors and as soon as she prepared to use take down she was covered in blue energy which meant she learned Dragon Rush. “ Go for it, Altaria use Dragon Rush. Altaria dove at Haxorus and managed to deal the final blow which caused him to faint.
“ Haxorus is unable to battle. Altaria is the winner. Which means Turquoise wins the match,” The ref said as he pointed his right flag at Turquoise. The crowd went wild as the Mc declared Turquoise the winner.
“ And now we present Turquoise with this year’s Dragon’s Cup Trophy and a set of Dragon Fangs from Blackthorn City,” The Mc said as Turquoise held a golden trophy shaped like two dragons spinning around while holding a giant cup above them as a sign of unity along with her three pokemon that competed with her. As soon as the dragon’s Cup was finished Pinkie wanted to celebrate Turquosie’s victory. As soon as Turquoise returned home Pinkie took over the kitchen. Everyone celebrated the night away.
