Meetings and Mistakes

Delsin woke from a sharp poke to his side. But from previous experiences, instead of groaning, he shot up and took the chain off his arm, prepared to attack. Luna looked at him with wide eyes, her finger pointed at him. Delsin recognized it as the origin of the sharp poke. He wrapped the chain around his arm and apologised.

"Sorry Luna. Past still haunts me, you know." Luna nodded as she put her hand down.

"Yes, though I know not many ponies who would react like you did." Delsin shrugged and stretched, the couch having not done any favors for his back. The small cracks and pops made Luna flinch at the sound.

"So, we at your home yet?" Delsin asked while turning to Luna.

"Not exactly. The engine retained some damage so they need to make some repairs. Just so the train can reach Canterlot. After that the train will go to Dodge Junction for complete repairs." Delsin nodded and followed Luna to the train car exit.

Before he left the train car he heard gasps and peaked out to see ponies bowing to Princess Luna. Then he stepped out. More gasps, but this time the ponies scattered. "Well, can't say I didn't expect that. Hoped the blue of my jacket would have made them think I was a bit peaceful but guess not." Delsin said whilst pointing to the large white and blue eagle on his black leather jacket.

"What exactly does that mean?" Luna asked, looking at the design.

"The eagle means freedom. The colors can stand for anything really." Delsin said as he turned back to Luna.

"Interesting. I shall keep that in mind. Anyway, let us go. I don't think the ponies will warm up to you if you just stand there." Delsin nodded and followed the lunar princess, looking around the now empty town.

"Damn, and I thought word travels fast in my world." Delsin laughed at his own joke, thinking it pretty fun but only serving to confuse Luna. "So who are we meeting here?" Delsin asked as he looked around, changing the subject quickly.

"Somepony who used to be my sister's protege." Delsin just looked at her a bit confused.

"What's a pro-to-jay?" Asked Delsin. Luna rolled her eyes and said.

"Protegè, it's another word for student." Delsin just nodded at this info.

"Cool, cool, so what's so special about her anyway?" Luna thought on it a bit and said.

"Well, she was one of the ponies who freed me from my dark self, Nightmare Moon. She bears the Element of Magic. And many other things." Delsin nodded, though not even having a single clue what she was talking about.

"Huh, interesting." Delsin said lamely. "Well, hope she won't freak out when she sees me." The two soon arrived at the Tree Library with Princess Luna knocking on the door.

"In a second!" Came a male's teen voice from inside before the front door opened up to show a dragon with a blue T-shirt and black pants. When he saw the princess he bowed slightly. "Oh, hey Princess Luna. Are you here to see Twilight?" The dragon teen asked.

"Greetings Spike. And yes, I am here to introduce my new friend to her." Luna said as she gestured at Delsin. Spike looked at the human and tilted his head.

"Your new friend is a thug?" Before Luna could scold the dragon, Delsin cut in.

"Thug, huh? Eh, I've been called worse. Though I guess that's coming from a lizard." Delsin said with a smirk, knowing just what buttons to press. Spike growled and answered with.

"I'm a dragon. And what are you, a hairless earth pony?" Spike jabbed. Just before the two went to throw any punches, Luna stepped between the two.

"Stop it you two! Your squabbling like foals." Luna said with a disapproving scowl. Spike looked away grumbling his annoyance. But soon getting over it he led the two inside,  where Twilight was reading a book on the couch near the middle of the floor. A wooden coffee table with a wooden horse head in the middle of said table.

"Spike, who was- Princess Luna!" Twilight jumped up and began smoothing out her clothes. "Oh, I must be a mess. I'm so sorry for not preparing for your visit, princess." Twilight apologized as she went to the kitchen. "Would you like some tea? I think I still have some in the fridge."

"That would be lovely Twilight, but I am here to have you examine a friend of mine that possesses… very strange magic." Luna said to the annoyance of Delsin.

"I told you, it's not magic! At least… I'm pretty sure that is." Delsin grumbled, still having not known how he got his powers. Or… did he always have them? And it took him touching Hank and absorbing some of his power to unlock his own powers? He didn't know and at the time when he had got them, didn't care.

"Alright, and what do you mean strange magic?" Twilight said, holding a glass pitcher before looking up at Delsin. When she did, the pitcher dropped from her grasp. Quickly, Delsin employed his Smoke Dash over to her and caught the pitcher before it hit the floor. But to do so he had to reach down and this had put him in the awkward position of having his face right next to her crotch.

Looking up at her, he chuckled before standing back up to full height, standing only a few inches taller than the lavender mare. "Heh, sorry. Umm, here's your pitcher." Delsin said awkwardly as he put the pitcher back into her hands before slowly stepping away. Twilight just looked at Delsin the entire time.

"Wha- but- HOW?" She shouted in disbelief. Delsin just shrugged.

"I was hoping you could find that out Twilight." Luna said with a soft smile to try and calm the young unicorn.

Twilight took a few deep breaths before saying. "Fine. But does Celestia know about him?" Twilight asked the lunar alicorn. Luna nodded an affirmation.

"Yes, though she does not agree with me on my decision." This caught the attention of Delsin.

"Wait, what do you mean?" He asked, looking up at her with a small glare.

"Sister wanted to throw you in the Dungeons, or Tartarus. But I was able to convince her having you as an ally is better than having you as an enemy." This… made a lot of sense to Delsin. Why make an enemy when you can have an ally? But to him this just made it seem like he was being used. This led down the trail of his memories of how he had been betrayed.

"So that's all I am, huh? A soldier for you to send out into battle.? Should've known." Delsin said to Luna as he glared at the taller alicorn. This caught both Twilight and Luna off guard. Luna was about to speak up, but was cut off by Delsin. "Shut it princess, I don't wanna hear it." He said turning and storming out the door, slamming it behind him. This left the main room of the library deathly quiet.

But it was soon broken by the sob that came from the Lunar princess. Before Twilight could try and console Luna, the princess turned to her with tears coming from furious glaring eyes. "Why couldn't you just keep your bucking mouth shut Twilight!? Why do you always have to bring up my sister!? I AM A PRINCESS AS WELL! DOES MY TITLE NOT MATTER ANYMORE!? WHY CAN'T YOU TRUST MY JUDGEMENT LIKE YOU TRUST MY SISTER'S!?" She yelled with growing rage.

Twilight could only back away, tears beginning to form in her own eyes. Spike on the other hand had snuck away, rapidly writing on a scroll that when finished, he sent to Celestia.
