//------------------------------// // Feeling Down. // Story: The Sadness Of An Alligator // by Eleuroth //------------------------------// This is a story I am writing in my spare time, don't expect frequent updates at certain times. Chapter 1: Feeling Down. By: Eleuroth Pinkie sat on her bed in her room at Sugarcube Corner, watching the sun set slowly through the window as its orange glow lit up the room behind her. A good smell was coming from downstairs, Mr&Mrs.Cake were baking an important cake for somepony in Baltimare and from what Pinkie could sniff, it was going to be better than the MMM. She had offered to deliver the cake, but the Cakes had said that it was too far for her to go without any reason but to deliver a cake. Everything seemed swell, apart from her pet alligator, Gummy, who seemed rather down as he slowly walked over to his basket and slumped down onto the pillow Pinkie had placed in there for him. Since Pinkie hates seeing anything sad, she soon jumped over to his basket and kicked over his new ball of wool (which was coloured awfully similar to Rainbow Dash). Normally, Gummy would get out of bed and start playing with Pinkie but the only reaction Pinkie received was a small, slow movement from his eyes as he looked at her. Now, that was a suprise! The weather was perfect, the room was a cosy temperature, he had plenty of food in his bowl, but yet he was sad and Pinkie had no idea why. However, there is one pony who would surely know what to do, Fluttershy! She knew everything about animals so surely she would know how to cheer Gummy up. But it would have to wait until morning, as Pinkie didn't feel like a trek across Ponyville in the dark, even for Gummys sake. So Pinkie went back to bed, and started to ponder about why Gummy seemed so down. Finally, morning had risen after what felt like an enternity for Pinkie since she was awake most of the night wondering about Gummy. He had never been upset before, always his usual bubbly self. Pinkie thought he might've cheered up in the morning, but, if anything, he looked even more depressed. Anyway, she'd go take Gummy to Fluttershy in a bit. However, breakfast needed to come first as Pinkies stomach was growling badly at her. She put Gummy on her back, and headed off downstairs to the kitchen to grab a hay sandwich. Pinkie soon ate the sandwich and left Sugarcube Corner with Gummy sat firmly on her back. The sun was high in the sky and Rainbow Dash had cleared the clouds early, for once, letting the bright blue sky show itself to everyone clearly. Pinkie considered hosting a picnic and a Pony Pet Playdate for her friends in the usual spot, by a tree in the corner of Ponyvilles Park. Then she would ask Fluttershy about Gummy on the way back if that didn't cheer him up. So she went over to all her bestest friends houses and asked if they was free, most of them weren't but since it was a Pinkie Pie Pony Pet Playdate they made time. This would keep Gummy upset for longer, although Pinkie was sure it would make him happy.
