Chapter 10: Mission Accomplished

Roughly an hour has gone by, and Sunset and her friends are still waiting to see how Adrain and Mander were doing. They have debated whether or not to go looking for their new friends, and while they initially thought that they should stay at the apartment and wait, they changed their minds and decided to go out look for their friends. and see how they were doing. But before they could leave the building, a knocking at the door causes the group of girls and Hearty to look at the door to Sunset’s apartment. the fiery haired girl makes her way to the door, and as she does so Pinkie looks out the window, where a smile came to her face and she rushes to the door. As Sunset opens her door she saw a slightly exhausted Adrain, and Mander, giving her tired smiles.

“You’re back!” Sunset said as she gave the pair a hug, followed by Pinkie when she reached the door. The rest of the group were about to make their way to the door, but they stopped when the two girls brought the young man and Armordragon inside.

“You two look really worn out, what happened?” Pinkie asked as Adrain sat on a chair that Rarity offered.

“Just had to deal with a dragon wizard that wanted to make your world his.” The young man commented.

“But Ah take it you won?” Applejack asked.

“E’yup.” Mander asked. “But it was a close one, If Adrain didn’t draw the cards he needed, we would’ve lost.” The Armordragon gave out a tired sigh, even if he didn’t take part in the battle that much, simply watching the events unfold was tense enough.

“Well the important thing is that you won!” Pinkie says joyfully.

“Though…I guess this means your assignment is over with, and you’ll be heading home to your world.” Twilight says, sounding a little sad to say goodbye to her new friends.

“Not yet.” Adrain says as he looks over at Hearty. “We still have to deal with you.” the girls look surprised to hear this, they thought that Hearty’s situation was cleared.

“You’re still categorized as an illegal monster Hearty, and until something about that is changed, officially, I’m going to have to return you to your world.” the witch seemed to understand this, and gives a defeated sigh.

“Very well officer, I won’t put up a fuss this time.” Hearty says as she looks to Twilight. “I’m sorry my dear, but it appears it was not meant to be buddies after all.”

“Does she really have to leave?” Fluttershy asked. “Hearty has been on her best behavior.”

“Maybe Fluttershy, but since your world doesn’t have an agency to make sure she does not abuse her power, I have to take her back to her world.” Mander explains as he looks up to the shy girl.

“So to make our assignment officially done, we have to take Hearty with us when we go back to our world.”

“Well in that case!” Pinkie says as she rushes out of the living room, and headed to the kitchen…where a bunch of noise from kitchen utensils and the sound of food being prepared, and made. Then a minute or so after entering the kitchen, Pinkie came out looking like she was just in the midst of a food fight.

“Let’s have a ‘going away and hope to see you again’ party!” the group got up from their seats and headed into the kitchen…and saw that there were cakes, pies, basically anything that can be called party food made and spread out on any free counter space. Adrian was pretty baffled on how this girl was able to make all this food, in such a short amount of time.

“How did—”

“Don’t ask.” All six of Pinkie’s friends say in unison.

“Trust me.” Applejack says as she places a hand on the young mans shoulder. “It’s best not to question how she does things, it’ll save you the headache.”

Deciding to go along with the cowgirls advice, the group had a small little farewell party for both Adrian and Mander, as well as Hearty. And while the young man was a little sad to say goodbye to some new friends, this party was a nice way leave on a happy note.

‘If anything, this assignment has been one amazing little adventure.’
