//------------------------------// // The heartbreaking reality // Story: The hidden truth // by Eileen //------------------------------// Spitfire was alone behind wonderbolt hq, well the main block at least, to have some quiet time and get past what she was feeling. Unfortunately it was difficult for her so she could help but cry her hear out on the soft cloud, she tried to be as quiet as possible so her colleagues wouldn’t find her and assault her with questions, as she knew they would be overly concerned due to her always appearing stubborn, strict and in control. Little did they know that was only a facade that she hid the shell of her true self behind, she didn’t even know who she truly was as she never had a chance to figure out. “Why does everything have to be so tough?” Spitfire murmured to herself “heh thats life I guess i just got the back hoof” she retorted to her own question. “Great in going crazy in speaking to myself” she continued. With that spitfire curled up into a comfortable position hearing her colleagues call for her in the distance to try and find her, her eyes felt heavy and sore due to crying so much so she closed them falling asleep in the process, hopefully her colleagues would give her this bit of peace and quiet as she calmed down while resting. A few hours later misty gave up looking for captain and decided to get some fresh air behind hq, after all flying for 3 hours straight was tiering, not many Pegasi have that capability. After heading to her usual spot she sat down to hear a squeal of pain, which was very abnormal and made her jump, to which misty looked down to see spitfire. “Misty what the buck? Why did you sit on me” spitfire said in an agitated half asleep voice, as she stood up in a fighting stance ready to attack her colleague if she had to, or felt to threatened. “Oh captain thank goodness I found you the team us so worried” misty respond not caring about how spitfire was acting, as she flew at her pinning het to the wall, in a short hug then letting go. “Sorry I forgot you hate being hugged, mam” misty responded to herself after realising the critical mistake she may have just made, mainly as if spitfire wanted to she could knock misty out in one hit, as she was stupidly strong and no colleague understood how. “Its fine, you got off me quick enough not to freak me out misty” spitfire said annoyingly, while backing off putting sone distance between the both of the mares, mainly as spitfire didn’t want to deal with misty right now. “So why were you crying earlier thats not like you mam?” Mystery asked seemingly worried, about her bosses mental state, fearing of what may happen if it got bad, no misty don't think there, she thought to herself when spitfire cut in. “You don’t even know me misty, well.... at leats the me.... that’s not how i am at work...” spitfire responded hesitantly, as she backed off shyly wanting out of the conversation, which she had a feeling she couldn’t escape now or shed be bombarded even more later. “Then who is the real you mam?” She said concerned watching her moves as to not scare spitfire away, again. Especially with how spitfire was currently acting towards her, like a foal who had just been caught, after breaking her mother’s favourite plates. “I...l don’t know.... I never explored myself like you did as a child.... i got my cutie mark stupidly young.... so my parents didn't see a point in letting me find myself..” spitfire responded shyly, as she didn’t know how to explain it, due to the fact she spent a lot of her filly hood at home studying, as no child wanted to associate with a freak like her. “Parents? I thought you didn’t have a dad!” Misty screamed, shock filling her, not just in voice but actions, the thoughts crossed her mind what else has captain been hiding from me from us?! “Shhhhh... i dont want the other team members to know in here misty!” Spitfire ordered frightened at the possibility of being bombarded with questions but not just misty but the whole team, because if one wonderbolt was hurt the rest of the team would find out and not sleep until that pony was served justice. “Sorry mam” misty said feeling awful for possibly bringing attention to where her and captain were standing out of the way of the team and all the worries of work. “Its fine and yes i dont have a biological farther but i do have a step father..... and... he... well” spitfire started to stutter as she broke down in tears again worrying misty fly as she slowly approached captain and held her lightly, letting her cry all she needed. “Im guessing he wasn’t a nice stallion was he mam?” Misty asked spitfire, To which spitfire shook her head in response showing he indeed was cruel, shocking misty, who just comforted spitfire as she didn’t know what else to do “H...he never accepted me as his daughter.” Spitfire said snuggling into misty’s soft chest fluff “he always said i was a good for nothing child that would never accomplish anything as no one would ever want to associate with a freak like me” spitfire whimpered to misty’s horror. How could a stallion not love there own daughter? Even if there there step child? Shouldn't they care even more then not shy the kid away? Misty thought horrified at what spitfire had just told her, and what did spitfire mean by a freak like her? Thoughts rushed through misty’s head of questions shed ask spitfire another day when she wasn’t acting so venerable, as this wasn’t like the spitfire she knew at all, but yet she didn’t even know who the real spitfire was yet as spitfire hadn’t known herself. “T.. thats absurd!” Misty responded to spitfire who was calming down and falling asleep onto her, “i guess ill have to pop you in bed mam” misty said to herself as spitfire was fully asleep no with jo chance of waking up, so she picked spitfire up and brought her to the barracks to let her rest peacefully.
