Silver and his team were on their way to Egypt to face their next opponent in the WRGP. As soon as the plane landed Silver and his team suddenly felt the desert heat kick in.
“ Of all the places to go, why Egypt?” Ratchet asked, not liking the heat.
“ We don't make the bracket, we only follow it. Besides don,t you want to learn the origin of duel monsters?” Silver asked.
“ We can do that in our nice air-conditioned hotel room. I have my laptop with me,” Ratchet said.
“ I prefer learning things out in the field instead of being cooped up inside,” Lightning said. As they were walking an official from the tournament came to greet them.
“ You four must be Team Silverwing,” The official said.
“ We are,” Lyra said.
“ Come, Team Medjed is waiting for you four at the press conference,” The official said before showing Team Silverwing to the back. As soon as they heard their cue, Silver, Lyra, and Lightning took their seats next to Team Medjed which consisted of a bald man with dark skin and Egyptian writing on the right side of his face wearing a purple robe. A woman with long black hair wearing an ivory dress and gold jewelry. And a man with spiky platinum blonde hair and dark skin wearing a black sleeveless top and jeans.
“ Now that both teams have arrived let us introduce them. First, from our very own Team Medjed is Odion, Ishizu, And Marik Ishtar,” The Official said before moving on. “ And from Team Silverwing is Silver Chance, Lyra Heartstrings, and Lightning Dust. The press took many pictures and asked many questions before Marik and Silver stood up and faced each other with Marik holding his hand out.
“ Let’s shake on having a fair and great match,” Marik said before Silver took his hand and they shook on it with the press taking more pictures. Silver suddenly felt something powerful coming from Marik. As soon as the press conference was over Silver and his team decided to go to their hotel room. Lyra suddenly noticed the expression on Silver’s face.
“ Is everything alright Silver?” Lyra asked.
“ It’s that Marik guy I felt something powerful coming from him,” Silver said.
“ Is it a Number card?” Lightning asked.
“ No, this felt different. like some kind of ancient power I can't describe,” Silver said.
“ Whatever it is we will find out tomorrow at the Cairo Arena,” Ratchet said
The next day both teams were setting up their pits before the MC for this duel took her place and grabbed the mic.
“ Welcome to the third match of the WRGP everyone. Let us introduce the teams. First representing our country of Egypt. The team consisting of the three Ishtar siblings Team Medjed,” The Mc said as the crowd went wild. “ And their opponents all the way from the United States of America. Team Silverwing. The crowd was not as enthusiastic about Team Silverwing since like all their matches the crowd will only cheer for the home team. Both Lyra and Odion mounted their runners and lined up at the starting line. “ Now activating the Action Field Speed World V. A bunch of ramps and half-pipes formed around the track inside the arena along with a whole bunch of tracks rising out of the sand outside the arena which meant this duel was going to become a race through the desert. Lyra and Odion took off quickly and Odion managed to turn the corner first thus earning him the first move. After both duelists drew their opening hands the match started.

“ The first move is mine. Odion pulled a card from his hand. “ First I activate the Field Spell Triamid Cruiser. A pyramid-shaped airship suddenly hovered above the track. “ Now each time I Normal Summon a Rock-Type Monster I gain 500 Life Points and on the subject of Rock-Type Monsters, I summon Triamid Master in attack mode. A monster that looked like a pharaoh appeared and brandished his scepter at Lyra.

“ Finally I set one card Face-down and end my turn,” Odion said as a set card appeared behind Triamid Master.
“ My turn I draw,” Lyra said as she drew her sixth card. Lyra was about to make her move until Odion interrupted her.
“ I activate Triamid Master’s effect. During your turn, I can send my Filed Spell to the GY and replace it with another one from my Deck so bid farewell to my cruiser and hello to my Triamid Fortress. The cruiser that was hovering over the track exploded and up ahead a pyramid with technology mixed into it appeared. “ Now my Cruiser’s other effect activates. When it is sent to the GY I can add a Triamid Monster to my hand so I will add Triamid Sphinx to my hand. Odion added his card to his hand before Lyra continued her turn.
“ I Activate my own Field Spell World Tree Yggdrasil. A giant tree suddenly sprouted ahead of the track. “ This spell allows me to Special Summon a Level Four or lower Fairy-Type monster once per turn in Defense Mode so I will use this effect to Special Summon my Serenade The Melodious Diva. A purple fairy with a single wing wearing a yellow dress appeared and took a defensive stance while singing.

“ When my Serenade is Special Summoned I can Normal Summon a Melodious Monster in addition to my primary Normal Summon so first I will use that effect to Summon my deck’s headliner and since my Serenade counts as two tributes when Summoning a High-Level Fairy-Type Monster I will tribute her to summon Mozarta The Melodious Maestra. Serenade vanished into a portal and out of it came Mozarta ready to fight.

As soon as Lyra summoned her monster the first action card of the match was coming up and Lyra snatched it before Odion reacted.
“ In response to your summoning I activate the Trap Quicksand Trap Hole,” Odion said as a trap with an image of a monster buried neck-deep in quicksand with its arm reaching up flipped face up. “ When you summon a monster with 2000 or more Attack points that monster is then forced into Face-Down Defense Position. Before Odion’s trap went into effect Lyra activated her Action Card.
“ I activate the Action Spell Magical Firewall when you activate a spell or trap that card’s activation is negated and you take 500 points of damage. Odion’s trap was set on fire before exploding and returning Odion to the starting 4000 Life Points.

“ Next I summon Fairy Archer in attack mode. A fairy wearing a blue outfit with a leaf skirt and yellow wings landed gracefully onto Lyra’s field before summoning her bow.

“ But I’m not done summoning yet Next I activate the Spell Titania’s Guidance this allows me to draw one card for every Fairy-Type Monster I control and if any of the cards I draw are Fairy-type monsters I reveal one and Special Summon it so with three monsters already I draw three cards. Lyra drew her three cards and smiled after seeing what she drew. “ Looks like my luck keeps on going because I can Special Summon Fairy Sniper from my hand. A fairy boy dressed in a black outfit with black hair and wings landed next to Fairy Archer and positioned his rifle.

“ Next I activate my Sniper’s effect. He inflicts 500 points of damage for each card that is in my hand so with two cards that's 1000 points of damage. Fairy Sniper aimed and fired two shots at Odion.

“ Are you going to keep hiding or are you going to fight?” Odion said not impressed with Lyra’s strategy.
“ Oh I'm going to fight alright but first I activate the Continuous Spell Valkyrie Berrier while this card is in play all My Fairy-Type Monsters cannot be destroyed by battle or Card Effects. A barrier made of fairy magic formed around Lyra’s field. “ Now I enter my Battle Phase and I will have Joan attack your Triamid Master. As Joan attacked she began to glow. “ Did I forget to mention my Field Spell’s other effect? When one of my Fairy-Type Monsters attacks one of your monsters my monster gains 1000 attack points during damage calculation.

As soon as Joan destroyed Triamid Master and the rest of Odion’s Life Points Odion did not look defeated.

“ You may have defeated me but you just unleashed your doom because when one of my Triamid cards is destroyed either by battle or card effect I can Special Summon my Triamid Sphinx from my hand. A mechanical Sphinx suddenly rose out of the desert sands and took up a defensive position.

“ While I control another Triamid card my Sphinx gains 500 attack and defense for each Field Spell with a different name in my GY so with one he gains 500 points plus my fortress gives him another 500 defense points.
“ Well, I get something too. When my Joan destroys a monster in battle and sends it to the GY I gain Life Points equal to your destroyed monsters attack points so thanks for the 1800 Life Points. Lyra was covered in a green aura as she and Odion returned to the stadium.

Odion returned to his team's pit and passed the baton along with his Sphinx and Field Spell to Ishizu who was ready to go.
“ I’m sorry Master Marik I could not beat that girl,” Odion said as Ishizu took off.
“ It’s ok Odion you did your best and managed to leave Ishizu with a good defensive wall,” Marik said.
Meanwhile, at the Silver Mansion Bullet, Ruby along with Lyra and Lightning’s family were watching the match on the big screen.
“ That's my girl kicking butt and taking names,” Lyra’s dad said.
“ I hope she remembered to pack plenty of sunscreen,” Lyra’s mom said with concern.
“ Relax at the speed there, moving at the heat is no problem,” Bullet said.
“ Besides, Lyra does not look the least bit uncomfortable,” Ruby said.
“ But still this match has just started and I have a feeling that Medjed’s next duelists won't be so easy,” Wind Rider said. Everyone continued watching the match.
