chapter 5: Invisble, part 2

"Wallflower?" cried Sunset. "Wallflower! Stop!"

Wallflower turned. "You remember my name?"

"I remember everything. The memory stone. How I acted. All of it!"

"But how?!" yelled Wallflower. "I erased the entire afternoon!"

Twilight gasped.

"Listen. I used to be just like you. Sure, I was popular, but I was lonely." said Sunset.

"But I'm not lonely!" bawled Wallflower. "Because I have... PLANTS!" Wallflower facepalmed. "That sounded less lonely in my head."

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." pleaded Sunset.

"No, you're not. You're just trying to look good in front of your friends! And it's working! Gah! How am I supposed to get back at you if nothing I do matters?! I hate you!"

Sunset gasped.

"I wanted to teach you a lesson by erasing your friends' good memories of you. But obviously that didn't work. But what if I erased all their memories of you and at high school?"

Sunset was on the verge of tears. "You can't!" she pleaded. "And you'll be stealing memories of what makes them them, of who they really are! You'll be stealing my girlfriend's memories!"

Twilight's heart swelled for her girlfriend. A green light shot out towards them. But it never came. Sunset Shimmer had absorbed it and glowed green.

"NOOOO!" cried Sunset, glaring down at Wallflower. "I ruined their friendship once before. I'd rather give up my own memories than let it happen again!"

Sunset's eyes turned to horror. A different coloured strip flew out, one of each of 5 girls. "Fluttershy! No! Applejack!" she grunted. "Rarity! Aah! Rainbow Dash! Pinkie Pie!" Sunset reached out to the girl she loved. "Twilight!" she wept. "Don't forget me!"

As Sunset collapsed, unconscious. "SUNSET!" cried Twilight. "NO!"

When Sunset revived, she gasped. "This isn't Canterlot. Where am I? Princess Celestia? What's happened to me? Somepony, help me!" she cried, clearly distressed. Sunset was crying, tear tracks streaked down her pale face. Twilight knew she had to do something. Laying a hand on Sunset's shoulder, Sunset replied, "Who are you?"

Twilight sat beside Sunset, cradling her head in her arms. "We're your friends." she stated.

Applejack and the other EGs joined in. "We may not remember you..." said Applejack

"But after seeing what you did..." said Pinkie Pie.

"...the sacrifice you made for us..." said Rarity

Fluttershy extended a hand to Sunset. "...we'd be proud to call you..."

"...OUR FRIEND!" chorused the 6 friends.

The 7 girls ponied up. Sunset was very confused as to what was going on.

"Wallflower! You have magic you do not understand! But it is nothing compared to the Magic of—!" said Twilight.

Pinkie Pie nudged Twilight. "Yeah, yeah, we get it. Light her up, ladies!"

Memories returned. Sunset landed, crouched against a wall. She didn't want to let her friends know she was crying.

Twilight went up to her. Sunset turned, as she realised who that was. "Twilight? You actually remember me?"

"YES!" cried Twilight. Sunset leaned on Twilight, sobbing her heart out. "It's okay," soothed Twilight. "Let it all out."

"You? You really remember me?" asked Sunset between sobs.

"Of course I do!" cried Twilight. "I do now!"

"I... love... you." whispered Sunset.

Twilight burst into tears. The two girls were sobbing on each other's shoulders.

"I'm so sorry," said Wallflower. ". When I first found the Memory Stone, I only erased little things – awkward hellos, saying the wrong thing, literally any public speaking..."

Sunset smiled a weak smile. "It's okay, Wallflower." She gestured her friends. "As long you don't pull this shit again, we forgive you. You need friends, and we will do our best to be a good friend to you."

Wallflower and Sunset shared a hug. "Thank you. All of you. But especially Sunset."
