//------------------------------// // No satisfaction // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Adagio Dazzle was now on the move. Her presence was kept hidden, hiding in secrecy so that nopony spots her. If she's going to get her revenge on Twilight, she's going to have to influence her friends first. And she's already made a glaring start by going for Scootaloo first. She managed to not only turn Scootaloo bitter but even caused her Pokemon to become disobedient. A new trick that she picked up. Currently, her being a threat is even more dangerous than it already was. But at the moment, everypony else other than Scootaloo wasn't even aware of this. So they continued to just have fun. With Sweetie Belle she was about to participate in her first official Pokemon Contest. She's had her practices before in the past, learning some pretty nifty tricks with her Pokemon. But now it was time to really show her stuff in the introduction round. Granted, this is the Normal Rank, the lowest of the low, so this is a beginners performance. Her opposing coordinator was the same. And to her surprise, it was a pony as well. A young orange-skinned, velvet-haired filly pegasus by the name of Velvetwind. Both will have to show off their best appeals by taking a few turns. A visual-based round. The judges present today were the usual trio. The Nurse Joy of Lilypad Town's Pokemon Center, Mr Contesta and Mr Sukizo. First up was Velvetwind. Since this was for the younger contestants, the only crowd members here were mostly parents. Not that crowded actually. About 19 people here with her parents, Rarity, Applejack and Apple Bloom being the only few ponies here. "Now that the major contest has come to a close, we can focus on our junior Pokemon contests!" announced the Announcer. "First up is Contestant Velvetwind who hails from Trottingham!" She introduced the newcomer pony who was ready to go at it. Her parents were in the seats, cheering her on from a distance. "And her opposing contestant, hailing from Ponyville is Contestant Sweetie Belle!" "Massive professional contests are fun, but it's always nice to watch simple and laid-back contests between new coordinators from time to time." Mr Contesta commented. "Indeed. Seeing the juniors compete makes me wish I was young again." Nurse Joy sighed, dreaming of the earlier days. "Ah, youth. If I could, I would go through the juniors division and move onwards over the years." "Not too late to try. You're pretty young still aren't you Nurse Joy?" Mr Sukizo said to her. "Are you possibly the youngest of your massive family?" "Oh, not really. All of my siblings were born on the exact same day. I'm younger than most 15 of my sisters by 12 minutes at best." Joy laughed, revealing more of her unusual family. "Now! Both contestants may begin! First is Contestant Velvetwind!" The young pegasi walked up to the stage with her Pokemon beside her. A Drifloon. Her motif and category of choice was the Cute category. "Watch me, mum and dad!" Velvet waved over to her parents who waved back. Since her Drifloon was chosen to partake in the cute category and it was a generally cute-looking Pokemon to many, she chose some simple but effective moves for this. Her talent round had begun. Time to show off how cute her Drifloon is despite being a Ghost-Type. "Drifloon! Use Sunny Day, Icy Wind and then Attract!" Her choice of appeal was having Drifloon summon up a Sunny Day by bellowing into the air. Dazzling bright sunlight beamed through the contest halls, shining down on Drifloon like a spotlight. The Balloon Pokemon then generated a cold wind of ice that swirled around the sunlight, spiralling. And as a finishing touch, Drifloon used Attract, creating a heart-shaped projectile that was in the middle of the sunlight and spinning ice. "Oh! Have a look at that!" Joy stood up from her seat. She was loving the way Velvetwind's move combination appeal looked by giving her vote instantly. 8 points from her. The other two judges were impressed by giving 7 points in total. "Attract in the middle is a good call." Mr Contesta nodded. "That's what I call cute for sure. "Now. Can we please see the appeal of the next contestant?" Mr Sukizo called for Sweetie Belle next. "Oh! That's me!" Sweetie Belle perked up. Her turn was up and she had to find a way to impress the judges more than Velvetwind did. And she did have something in store thanks to all her practising with her Pokemon. Rarity was watching from the seats, cheering her younger sister on along with the rest of her friends. "Good luck, Sweetie Belle!" Apple Bloom bellowed from the crowd. It's showtime. Sweetie Belle sent her Espurr forward to show its magic. "Alright, Espurr. Let's make sure it's as beautiful as it can be." She spoke to her Pokemon. "Espurr." The Restraint Pokemon nodded. "Use Light Screen and then Wonder Room!" Sweetie Belle went for two commands instead. But that was all she needed. Espurr covered itself in a screen of light that radiated from its body. It then formed a bizarre room with hundreds of cubes that it was encased in. The light radiating from Light Screen shined and dazzled inside of the room, sending rays of light that were multi-coloured. The display was truly beautiful with it being similar to that of a light show. "Now that is beautiful!" Mr Sukizo commented. "I give it these many points!" He made his vote by granting a total of 9 points for Sweetie Belle's round. Nurse Joy and Mr Contesta did the same by giving 8 points each. "With moves like those, they're sure to impress others when they rank up." Mr Contesta nodded. "Let's have a second go please, Velvetwind." The cycle began. Each would take turns showing off new tricks and appeals to the judges. Whilst that goes on and everyone there spectates, what they're completely unaware of is Adagio's presence. The siren had made her way inside the Lilypad Town contest halls. She had already dealt with Scootaloo who was now bitter and had Pokemon that wouldn't even listen to her, loafing around and being disobedient. Adagio's actions were slowly creating a chain reaction. She had also managed to sing melodies that influenced other trainers and their Pokemon. Now, most of Lilypad Town had been affected by Adagio's voice. Many of their Pokemon were just turning disobedient and loafing around, cutting ties and bonds with their trainers, humans and ponies alike. Her next target was the young contestants of the Lilypad Contest. Once Velvetwind finished her turn, Sweetie Belle went up next to try something new. Only a few more rounds left before it finishes. As Velvet was returning with her Drifloon, Adagio was sitting there, waiting. "Hm? Um, who are you miss?" Velvetwind asked. "Don't worry about me, little filly. Worry about your Pokemon. You've got a contest to win, right~?" When Adagio said the word 'right' it sent a tiny little green sound wave that breezed on her Drifloon. She decided to be secret about this one. "Oh, right. Thank you, miss. Come on then, Drifloon. Let's try shifting Attract around next time, alright?" "Drifloon." The effect hadn't kicked in for Drifloon yet seeing how it was a tiny sound wave. But Adagio knew that. She knew that it would kick in when Velvetwind's turn was next. Sweetie Belle had finished up her next round with Espurr, returning to the waiting room. Adagio had disappeared into the shadows, waiting for this all to play out until she can make her next move. "Good luck, Velvetwind!" Sweetie Belle waved at her opposing contestant. They seemed to be getting along pretty well for the time they've been competing against each other. Velvetwind waved back as she and Drifloon made their way to the stage for their next trick. "This is the last round before the Battle Stage. Let's see one final show of cuteness and beauty please." Nurse Joy clapped. "Okay. Here goes. Drifloon. Use Attract and spin it around you with Gust." Velvetwind gave her command. But to her surprise, nothing happened. Drifloon didn't perform any moves. Instead, it was just floating there quietly, unresponsive to her commands. The effect had kicked in finally, making Drifloon now disobedient to its trainer. "Uh, Drifloon. You can go now..." She whispered. Everyone was waiting patiently to see the appeal move. They at first thought that Drifloon was just biding its time or the move is going to appear out of nowhere in a flash. But that wasn't any of them. "Come on...Drifloon." Velvetwind was getting worried. Her heart was speeding up as she kept her mouth open with worry. Sweetie Belle watched from the waiting room, seeing how nothing was actually happening. Confusion swirled around her and everyone watching this, even the judges. They had zero clues on what was going on. "Drif..." Drifloon did something...but it was just a simple word. Nothing else. "Drifloon! Come on!" Velvetwind was getting upset. So upset to the point where her words starting to form into wails. She was feeling the urge to cry as she was worried about losing this round and not advancing to the next stage. This went on for a long time as the timer was ticking. If she can't get Driflim to perform one final move to rack up the last batch of points needed to advance to the next stage, then it might as well be over. And it was. Time had run out for her. "Oh, dear. Sorry, Velvetwind. But time has run out." Mr Contesta said, instantly shattering Velvetwind's heart. She couldn't reach the next stage of the contest as her final batch of points were taken away from her. And with that, she was out of the contest. Tears began swelling upon the young ponies eyes as she couldn't help but cry. She ran into the waiting room, upset and heartbroken at her loss. And Drifloon just stayed there, loafing around. Her parents immediately got off their seats, running to tend to their daughter. There were confusion and chatter among the crowd who felt horrible for what just happened, even the judges. Mr Contesta didn't want to say it, but she did end up losing at the end. And it is his job to judge. Velvet laid down on the waiting couch, huddled up on it. Her crying was so immense it could be heard from even the crowd, despite the distance. And this amount of negativity was fueling Adagio like crazy. Anger was already great for her, but sadness was another breed. The feeling of being destroyed and heartbroken fueled Adagio's power to a much better degree. She had done a perfect job on sabotaging this young girl's dream for her own gain. "Velv! Honey!" Her mother cried out for her. She and the father ran over to their weeping child, tending to her. Velvet's constant crying followed up by small hiccups and babbling were already making her parents feel distraught as well, not wanting to see their precious child in this state. And this also fueled Adagio up. Adagio realized with all this power growing in her, the green light she radiates would become too bright and she'd be found. So for the moment, the best option is to leave without being noticed. The green light is pretty visible after all. Sweetie Belle had passed, meaning that she could enter the next stage. But she didn't feel victorious. Not at all. As a result, she wasn't really motivated to go to the next stage because she had no one to compete with now. And her only competitor was in tears, still crying. The victory practically felt like an automatic win and that left her unsatisfied. Velvetwind's father returned Drifloon to its Pokeball as the mother picked her up. They believed it was time to head home, seeing how their daughter's first contest was a failure. Rarity, Applejack and Apple Bloom arrived at the waiting room to see Sweetie Belle there, disappointed and upset. "Sweetie Belle. Are you okay?" Her older sister asked. "No, not really. Poor Velvetwind." Sweetie Belle sighed. "Yeah. Shame on what happened to the little one. Why'd that Drifloon suddenly stop listening to her?" said Applejack. "I don't know. But I don't think I want to head into the next stage anymore...I think I'll leave early for tody's contest. If that's okay." "I understand, darling. I wouldn't want to compete too if that happened to anypony I was up against." Rarity walked up to Sweetie Belle, giving her a hug. They decided that the contest can be done at another time. Sweetie Belle's first contest didn't go the way she expected. It wasn't that it was a loss for her, but for her fellow contestant. Rarity told the judges that Sweetie Belle would be leaving the junior contest due to what just occurred. And they understood. "We fully understand your decision. That poor girl." Nurse Joy lowered her head, feeling guilty about letting Velvetwind fail. "But, we hope to see you again in the next contest. And hopefully, Contestant Velvetwind can pick herself back up." "Thank you." Sweetie Belle replied. It was time to head out. It may have been a bust, but there was still more to see in the Pokemon World that could raise spirits up once more. But that wasn't the case right now. Because Adagio had already turned everyone in Lilypad Town bitter and all Pokemon were disobedient, unresponsive to their trainers and just loafing around. Even those who came out of the contest halls. Applejack and the others had no idea what to make of this. "What in tarnation?" Applejack pulled back. "I've never seen anything like this." Rarity commented. Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom moved their eyes around, searching for their fellow Crusader Scootaloo. "Where's Scootaloo?" Apple Bloom questioned. Where was she? Scootaloo was returning from the Colosseum, feeling pent up with anger. She had returned her Pokemon to their Pokeball since they just decided to ignore her constantly. The young pegasus stomped her hooves about in frustration each time she walked. She ended up shoving some people aside as some shoved her as well. Whatever song Adagio did, it was super-effective. "Scootalo! There you are! Where did you go?" "Nowhere," Scootaloo replied with a disdaining tone. Her friends could see that she was feeling the exact same way as the people and ponies here. This just made them wonder why everyone else was affected. "You sure? You seem upset and angry." Sweetie Belle went up to her friend. "I am not upset! And I am not angry! DO I LOOK ANGRY?!" She replied with aggression in her voice as she indeed looked angry. Furious even. This made her friends and even Applejack and Rarity pull back as both of them had seen something like this before. "Uh..o-okay..." Sweetie Belle muttered. "Look. Maybe we should head back to Ponyville for the meantime. We can come back tomorrow when everything's settled down." Applejack recommended. "Fine..." Scootaloo replied. She could use the break right now. But one individual who didn't need a break from all the power she's gaining was Adagio who was loving every second of this. "Oh yeah...This is more like it. It feels good to be back." Adagio giggled, feeling giddy with the damage she's caused. "But, work's never done. I'm going to have to get more creative with my next target. That farm pony and fashion pony seem to be pretty easy targets. Let's see how they act when pent up." Nurse Joy, Mr Contesta and Mr Sukizo exited the contest, seeing everyone in the current state they were in. They had no idea what was going on. In fact, no one actually had any idea of what was causing it. But they didn't care. They were too upset to wonder. "This is unnatural," said Mr Contesta. "I'll say. Why is everyone like this all of a sudden?" Mr Sukizo replied. "What do you think Nurse Joy?" Both him and Mr Contesta turned to Nurse Joy who had a serious expression on her face. "I know what to do about this." Nurse Joy's expert skills had come into play. She knew that something was amiss. No one just acts like this without reason. And there was a specific Pokemon that she and other Nurse Joy's own that can handle a situation such as this. Nurse Joy sent out her Pokemon, Blissey. The Happiness Pokemon. This Pokemon was perfect for something like this. The egg it carries has a calming effect that can even calm down the wildest of tempers, no matter how fierce. As a bonus, the soft, fluffy fur that covers its body is extremely sensitive to surroundings and can sense emotions everywhere. Doesn't matter how far away you are, Blissey will rush to you to calm you down and bring a smile to your face. So it picked this up even when it was in its Pokeball. "Blissey. Calm them all down!" Nurse Joy commanded, pointing forward. "Blissey!" The Happiness Pokemon was on the move. It grabbed the egg on its pouch, tossing into the mouth of a trainer. Once he got a bite of the egg, in less than 1 second, his temper had been erased. "Mm...This egg is good!" He loved the taste as well. They were pretty delicious after all. Blissey's eggs can actually regrow. How they do, that's a story for another day. But as they kept growing back, she tossed hundreds of eggs to all those that were present and near. She slam-dunked an egg in a pony's mouth, spun around, tossing eggs rapid-fire as they flew in multiple directions, stuffing everyone before they could even see it coming. She even infused moves with the egg. By using the move Double Slap, she used her hands to slap the eggs into everyone's mouth. Soon, all of Lilypad's tempers had been drained dry. They were now feeling go-lucky and it all happened in the span of 1 minute. Adagio noticed this and she was taken aback. She had no idea what just happened. Everything was going so well for her and all of a sudden, this weird pink and huge Guinea Pig, rabbit creature hybrid, whatever it is, comes out of nowhere and eradicates the anger like it didn't even exist. All Mr Contesta and Sukizo could say were "Woah." "Oh...ah that's some good egg." Scootaloo was savouring the taste of the egg. Best she's ever eaten honestly. "Really good!" "I don't believe it. That Pokemon just fixed everything." Rarity's jaw dropped. "No kidding. I've heard that food makes anyone happy but this is ridiculous." Applejack replied, starstruck. "Sorry if I lost my temper there girls. Don't know what came over me." "It's alright. As long as your back to being you." Sweetie Belle said as she and Apple Bloom went over to hug their friend. That's when Scootaloo did remember why she was acting that way. "That's right! I remember now!" She exclaimed. "It was that pony who did it! Her name was uh...um... Adagio!" "Adagio?!" Both Rarity and Applejack said. "Uh-huh! I don't know what she did or how she did it. But she made my Pokemon ignore me. She even made me get all mad and stuff. Now I remember what happened." "So...that's what happened, huh?" Applejack nodded. "And that would explain why the Drifloon wasn't responding to Velvetwind. That no-good hussy!" Rarity stomped her hoof on the ground. "Forgive my language, children." "When we find her, she's gonna have a lot to answer for." Applejack said. Adagio overheard this as she was actually getting terrified. Now that they knew she was here, they were sure to track her down. And she couldn't try and make everyone bitter again. Blissey will just fix that in an instant. So for now...it was time to make a change of plans. Her next destination is unknown. But what she does know, is that she'll still focus on running everything Twilight holds dear to her. No matter what. Chapter 145 End!
