"So let me just run through my list to see if I got all of this right, your world doesn't have magic meaning; you can't control the weather, you don't help nature grow, your sun and moon aren't moved by any creature, you can't use any spells, and you don't even have ancient villains that have been imprisoned?", In front of me was real, I mean I know it's real now but I still can't really grasp that the purple alicorn that was checking off her list with her quilt and board in magic was really here! In the flesh even! Twilight Sparkle from one of my favorite shows, is real!
I stuttered and tried to find some footing with my words, "W-well uh there might be some magic but uh scientifically proven so far that I know of? No." I still haven't gotten over the fact that TWILIGHT SPARKLE, THE PROTAGONIST FROM MY LITTLE PONY IS RIGHT HERE! I could honestly not believe it! Although even being moved over to another world didn't seem to stop my social anxiety from meeting someone new, I mean as much as she looks like Twilight that I know, she could be someone entirely different.
She looks at her board quizzically, "Wow..that's uh, a lot to take in," her eyes go wide like plate saucers, and looks to me with worry and a flurry of movements with her limbs, "N-Not to say I don't believe you!" She averted eye contact and look sideways while she bit her bottom lip, "It's just well, it's hard to believe?" She said while turning to me letting her lip go with her confidence slightly wavering, the nervousness from me may have been bleeding into her mood as well.
"Well uh yeah I guess it is kind of hard to believe, your whole world is kind of relying on magic," I said with some empathy while scratching the back of my head.
"Wait, you said you're from a whole new world! How do you know about our world?" Twilight suddenly kept her posture straight up with broad shoulders while putting on a skeptical but serious face.
Ooo, kinda wanted to meet the others before I would make them feel uncomfortable knowing what I know
"W-well uh, you see-" I began but started to sweat a little knowing if I didn't word this well, things could go bad, was there any good way to tell her?
"Ugh I knew it," She face hoofed and leaned her head forward to yell, "DISCORD!" She slouched while frowning, in all honesty, she looked like she was going to have a migraine.
"No that's no-" I started to shake my head while moving my arms to start denying what she was thinking but a bright flash came between me and Twilight before I could explain what I meant.
Suddenly the draconequus came to be the first thing I see after my vision cleared up, but his posture was laid back in mid-air with sunglasses on his face, his lion paw holding a coconut with the top half of the coconut being gone with a squiggly straw and umbrella all in its comical effect. He looked at Twilight while sipping his drink, then turned to me and leaned his face while he used his free eagle claw to move his sunglasses forward down with an eyebrow raised, he seemed less than amused if his face and relaxed posture was any indication.
But a millisecond later he smiled mischievously and let his sunglasses get back to their original place while he turned to face Twilight, "Well well Twilight, I knew one of these days you would've gone mad and make some kind of living abomination," Then a flash came from where he was and appeared to my right, "but I would think you'd have done so long after k.k was gone," He paused by teleporting again to be next to Twilight, "color me impressed!" He started to change to a multitude of colors all changing on his limbs.
"Enough games, Discord" Twilight wasn't known for her patience with Discord, and had I not known that prior I would've thought she was an entirely new person with the change in her mood, she was as sour as they come at that moment with a frown and bled disappointment and anger and a hint of sadness.
"Why there are plenty of games," Discord said with a pause before he moved forward to Twilight practically up to her muzzle and spoke again with a mischievous smile, "Princess" and like that he flicked Twilight's horn and it vibrates and wiggled back and forth and he began to erupt with laughter while floating away some distance while Twilight held her front hooves up to her horn to stop it from moving, once she got it steady she stared daggers at him and made her exhaling very loud and known.
"DISC-" Was all Twilight could say before Discord shoved one lion paw finger at her lips to shush her and Twilight rather than blowing her steam was actually quite shocked at first then confused before Discord spoke with such disappointment.
"Tsk tsk" Discord said while wagging one of his talons, "While I do so love playing games with you ponies, and princesses I only own up to creating the delicious chaos I make now and then," he had to empathized this by putting his talons on his chest, "my favorite being that time I made Applejack's apples play hide and seek, I sadly as much as it is to say," he feigned sadness and put his talons on his forehead to act as if he was stricken with grief, "did not bring this little chaos to our happy home," He snapped his fingers and in a flash his talons was holding a tobacco pipe while wearing an outfit that was fit for a dad in the 90's, a classic blue sweater with red stripes and a white collar and somehow also changed Twilight's appearance of a similar era of time with a big ball of hair on where her mane supposed to be with too small of glasses on her nose, "it does beg the question however," he said, he snapped his fingers and in a blink of an eye with a flash he was right in front of my face hovering locking eyes with mine, "Who are you?"
I stuttered and juggled my words "W-w-well uhh f-funny thing is-" I felt completely frozen, staring into the REAL Discord's eyes was so imitating, his red eyes were sharp and so precise and felt as if it was studying my very soul.
"His name is Anon, Discord" Twilight spoke up behind Discord and he changed his direction to face her but his right eye was still focused on me while Twilight was sitting on her haunches looking at her notes on her papers before she looked up to Discord, "You truly mean it?"
"Pah" he rolled his eyes, only knowing this because he moved his eye on me as well, and let out an air of disbelief, "Would you truly think something of this caliber is something I wouldn't have already taken credit for?"
"Huh, I guess that makes sense but, if this really isn't your doing," she held her head to look at the papers but moved her eyes to Discord with a little bit of disbelief with a slightly raised eyebrow which he returned with a 'Huff' and another roll of eyes. "Then this could be a huge leap to science!" Her tone got more excited as she reached the end.
"I need to inform the princesses and the others as soon as they get here!" Twilight squealed with an adorable face of utter excitement that barely held itself in the form of a small pony face- wait.
"T-the princesses?" I croaked, Discord slithered from the ground up to my neck,
"And others," He said with a shit-eating grin that knew I was worried, you know Discord was my favorite character until now, I wiggled a bit moved my arms outward to get out. "Uh, Twilight?" I tried to walk a step forward with a raised finger outstretched but Twilight was so oblivious doing her little cute dance that I really didn't wanna disturb her but I kinda needed answers. "Twilight? Twilight" I marched forward to her and held her up.
"Wha-" I shook her just a bit before she could speak because she kinda deserves it.
"Twilight!" I shook her just a bit for some extra effect,
"What!?" She responded a little annoyed at my dexterous hands, heh jealous ponies.
"You said the princesses and others?" I held her to head level and locked eyes with hers while I held a worried expression.
"Yeah?" She spoke a little unsure with a slightly raised eyebrow at what I was getting.
"As in the Celestia and Luna?"
"Well and Cadence-but uh, yeah?" she was now burrowing her eyebrows to see the reason of concern.
"And the others, as in the main 5?"
"Who are the main 5 and how do you know-" She couldn't finish her sentence before the main doors opened in the friendship map room and I immediately dropped Twilight like a good parent, not on her head.
"WE HAVE COME AT PRINCESS TWILIGHT'S REQUEST FOR THEE'S NEW DISCOVERY" I didn't even have to look at the doors to know that was the black alicorn princess of darkness, goth, and emos.
"Please, Luna, we are guests" I turned and saw the white alicorn princess of fluffiness and wholesomeness for her face shined with brilliance and heartwarming feel-good vibes and best pone, so I turned to see her in all her glory.
"I'm, also here" The pink alicorn princess of trash spoke trying to wedge her way in between both princesses that actually did shit, well okay like at least made a plan or tried to instead of getting trapped by the same villain that took over the place like a bajillion years ago, I mean c'mon, you didn't think of upgrading your defenses from the first time? And also because she looks dumb. In the front doors Luna was the first out of the princesses to notice me and immediately locked eyes but before she could take a single step in Twilight scrambled from the floor to trot at an immense speed in front of them.
"Celestia, Luna, and Cadence! When I sent my letters and you all responded with coming soon I didn't think you'd all be here by the same time" Her body practically exuded boundless energy and probably holding an adorable smile with sparkling eyes but she's not facing me and honestly that might just be in the show so, would be cute if it I did see it though too bad I'm dealing with a death stare contest with Luna
"Well, it was more a coincidence-" Celestia started but before she could finish her sentence her gothier sister interrupted,
"Twilight", Celestia stopped to look to her right with some intrigue, her sister wasn't one for interrupting unless something really caught her attention.
"We wish for thee to tell of us of the creature's origin" Luna spoke with she began to stride towards me,
"Sister, while all of us are quite interested in the subject at hand-"
"IT'S A HUMAN!" Twilight spoke to her with such enthusiasm and Celestia actually did a double-take on Twilight when she probably realized that she just cut her off much like her sister. "His species is an evolution of something called 'Apes' and his kind has created and developed civilizations much like our own!"
"Quite the interesting evolution cycle," Luna was inspecting me and if I wasn't letting my nervousness bleed out now it certainly showed with her smirking and oddly enough she never wavered her contact with my eyes if anything after Twilight spoke she became even more invested with her blue nocturnal eyes widening only a smidge although they were big, to begin with.
"He even states that his species has advanced far more in the field of technology than we have and has even commented that our engines and trains are as he put it, 'relatively old'"
"Truly?" Luna, for once after starting the staring contest since her grand entrance, turned her head back to Twilight and during the movement, I could see she was astonished to hear such blasphemy probably. But I wasn't expecting Twilight to actually record what I say or do, hope she didn't try to record everything of what I said or this would be sorta bad.
"I even scribed everything he said so that I may pull some connections to his and our world!" Fuck. "Although I do have suspicions, some contradictions have shown up with his statement of being otherworldly," shit, this is really coming to bite my ass now. For once the white horse of wholesomeness finally intervened.
"What kind of suspensions?"
"Well, if I could-" Twilight began to flip through pages with her tongue sticking out on the side, it'd be cute if it wasn't going to possibly screw me over and end my life when I'm already walking on thin ice. "Ah! Here we go, within thirty minutes of talking he responded to my question of his well-being with, and I quote, 'It's just so weird y'know? I feel like I'm in a dream.'
Luna chimed in at that statement, "Tis so unreal thy would feel as though you were in the dreamscape if you were pulled to another world?"
She didn't seem to take the interruption much of an insult though. "Well, not really but take into this quote into context in 5 minutes of my questioning, '...your world is more lacking or erm- not to be rude since I've come all the way from my world but I was sorta expecting I don't know, a little different of your world. I mean, your trains and how it works with being moved by horsepower, which pun totally intended, is just well advancement wise for a lack of a better term, lacking or at least relatively old compared to my world. but I guess that's more because we don't rely on magic like your world does so I guess it sorta makes sense that you didn't technologically advance.'"
Celestia tapped her chin with one of her hooves, she seemed to certainly find it strange, "While it's certainly strange, albeit a little insulting I find nothing wrong with this excerpt, Twilight, may you please elaborate?"
"Certainly Princess Celestia-"
"Twilight, please, you have grown far beyond being just my student, you are a princess as well, or have you forgotten, Princess Twilight" Celestia smirked a bit at that ending.
"Sorry! W-well um Pr-Celestia, as I was saying, while I understand the little need for suspicion on those small pieces I've found the bigger picture creates a sort of, plot hole. Such as when he comments on our engines or trains, in no way have I commented on how our traveling system works nor the capacity of how engines alone fueled our machines. And with the comment of our magic while it may have not directly come to hand I did notice that he was more stunned than shocked to notice my magic while holding my board and quill. Although he has commented that the idea of magic existed in his world I would have expected him to be shocked and at least ask for more information on the subject rather than gawk then move on."
"Hmm," Celestia looked like she was genuinely contemplating on her next move, "that does beg the question then, why would he lie and how have we not truly seen his kind in any capacity whether in history books or ancient journals or even ancient drawings or predictions."
All eyes turned on me.
