//------------------------------// // The storm rages on // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// The Storm Behemoth has grown in size and power. Pokemon moves now just fuel its energy, even more, making things much more difficult than they already are. The behemoth's path towards Canterlot was only drawing near. Now it seemed like a near-unstoppable being. The gigantic storm being was now pulling off a running motion, causing constant pulses each time it ran. "It just absorbed all those moves? How?" Rainbow Dash uttered. "The electricity around it is acting like some sort of power vacuum. It'll keep eating up moves and adding it onto its electricity." Twilight explained. "Then how on Earth do we beat something that can just eat up our moves?" Rarity asked. "I don't know. But if we don't figure something out fast, it'll end tearing through all of Equestria maybe one night. Ash, any ideas?" "I got nothing. All we can do now is keep chasing after it. Dragonite! Forward" Ash pointed at the direction of the behemoth. "Dra!" The Dragon Pokemon flew forward as the group were chasing the behemoth down. Over at Canterlot, the ponies there were completely unaware of the behemoth that was heading their way. The only thing they could see were storms in the clouds. But they just assumed it was a natural thunderstorm that might be coming soon. Princess Celestia and Queen Pyrestar had informed everypony to try and pitch in with the other world in order to help restore light and energy across both worlds. Little did they know that all that progress would be taken out by the approaching behemoth that was dashing this direction. "Everypony's all set. Now, all we have to do is wait for the right moment." Celestia spoke to Pyrestar. "Will this work? If their entire world has lost power, will it be enough to restart all the power there? I would assume it would only affect at least 20% of their world since theirs was on a more global scale compared to ours." Pyrestar asked. "You'd be surprised by how much progress and power can be achieved with Pokemon on your side. Isn't that right, Passion?" Celestia looked at her Kirlia who was on her back. "Kirlia!" "I suppose so. These Pokemon creatures are still bizarre to me. It only makes sense that they come from another world completely different from ours." "You don't know the half of it." Celestia chuckled. That's when Passion picked something up. Her psychic prowess was capable of picking up any imminent danger from a mile away. And she could sense the behemoth making its way here. "Kir...? Kirlia!" Passion hopped off her trainer's back, looking out to the window. "Passion? What's wrong? Do you sense something?" Celestia went up to her Pokemon. "Kirlia!" The Emotion Pokemon outstretched her arms, pointing outside of the window. That's when Celestia, Pyrestar and soon all of Equestria saw the behemoth. It was running towards them with so signs of slowing down at all. Everypony began to panic as they quickly went inside their homes. The sight of a creature that huge, running towards them, was enough to terrify anypony honestly. "What is that thing?!" Pyrestar exclaimed. "Whatever it may be, it's heading this way! Passion get back!" Celestia made her Pokemon stand behind her as her horn began to glow. The thunderous cry from the behemoth erupted, shattering the windows and obliterating the ceilings and walls of homes. Canterlot was affected as well. Due to it being much more hard-built, it didn't take too much damage, but the roar managed to leave some cracks on the walls and even shattering some windows in the process. Celestia unleashed her magic by creating a large barrier around Canterlot in order to block the behemoth's movements. And the result? The barrier was actually a success. The moment the behemoth made contact with it, it was pushed back and its movements halted. It seems that it cannot absorb energy if it is moving, only if it is motionless that it can absorb all forms of energy. The sun princess breathed a deep sigh, glad that she managed to stop it. But that wouldn't last...because the behemoth began draining the magic energy from the barrier by slamming its long arms on it. Each slam not only drained the barrier, but it also caused a shockwave that ruptured across it. The rupture was enough to make the buildings tremble, even from a faraway distance. "What strength!" Celestia gasped. Pyrestar quickly chimed in by adding her magic onto it. She formed a barrier that layered over Celestia's, as the force of the barrier emerging was enough to knock the behemoth down for a bit. But her magic was no exception to the behemoth, as it began absorbing Pyrestar's magic as well. Due to Pyrestar being a fusion of two alicorns, the amount of energy that the behemoth was absorbing skyrocketed. Its size increased all the way up to 650 ft easily thanks to Pyrestar's magic. Not only that, but its electric colouring gained some golden sparkles and shine due to it absorbing the huge amounts of magic. "Our magic...it's absorbing it?" "Like some sort of power vacuum," said Pyrestar. "Pulling in our magic constantly and feeding on it." "Where could something like this have come from?" The Storm Behemoth broke through the two barriers with its now increased strength as it continued its linear path. Everypony made sure to stay inside their homes, hoping they'd be safe. But the roar ended up costing them their windows, ceilings, walls and even doors. Daylight held his little brother close as did Dew Drops' parents along with everypony else. As the behemoth was walking through the buildings, sending pulses towards the ponies and giving them jolts to their bodies, it came across Canterlot Castle next. Celestia and Pyrestar both unleashed magic beams together, firing at the behemoth. It was hit by the beams, however, its body quickly absorbed them, adding them onto its electricity as usual. So far, nothing was proving to get past this thing. Not Pokemon moves and not even Alicorn magic. That's when Luna arrived with Darkrai. The reason she was here was that everypony had been woken up due to the behemoth's thunderous roar, meaning that the Dream World was empty at the moment. "Sister! What is -" Luna looked outside to see the behemoth, standing before them and approaching their castle. She had no idea what to make of this. "Oh my." "What is that thing?" Darkrai said. "We haven't the faintest clue. But it seems to be some sort of energy vacuum that pulls in magic." Pyrestar responded. "And it seems to also cause pulses every time...it..moves..." That's when Celestia realized something. "Hold on. Could this thing be the cause of the blackout?!" "Whether it is or not, it must be stopped. Darkrai! Dark Pulse!" Luna gave off a command. Darkrai phased through the walls of Canterlot, heading outside to come face to face with the behemoth. The Pitch Black Pokemon unleashed a pulse imbued with dark thoughts, racing towards the behemoth. The Dark Pulse for a split second managed to push back the behemoth, but it eventually absorbed it anyway. The power of Darkrai's Dark Pulse was actually capable of filling the behemoth with those same dark thoughts, granting some form of intelligence. The behemoth was now capable of performing other actions. And what it ended up doing next, was grabbing Darkrai. "Oh no! Darkrai!" The Storm Behemoth had Darkrai in its surging clutches. Darkrai could feel all the elections shock his body as was struggling to break free from its grip. Luna flew up towards the behemoth in order to free her Pokemon from its clutches. She attempted to free him by blasting the arms, but again, the magic was pulled in, feeding it even more. Suddenly, the behemoth turned its attention to Luna, grabbing her as well with its lightning-fast arms. Now Luna was feeling all those volts pour into her. "Luna!" Celestia gasped as she dashed out of the castle. "Drop my sister!" She demanded. The behemoth's only response was to go ahead and grab Celestia as well. Celestia thankfully managed to fly back in order to escape the grasp, but the pressure of the swing was enough to shoot lightning towards Celestia. Bolts of lightning hit the castles as they flew out of the behemoth's hands, even hitting every other building it made contact with. It was like the skies were raining down rampant lightning bolts without any mercy. Celestia knew that magic wouldn't do anything against it. It would absorb all the magic that is thrown at it. That's when the Storm Behemoth began charging up all of a sudden. The sounds of electricity building up could be heard as thunderous sounds erupted from its body. From the looks of it, it looked like it was going to unleash a pulse on the spot. To be cautious, Celestia and Pyrestar formed another barrier, but this time on them and the citizens of Canterlot. Passion gasped, sensing the overwhelming force that was building up. She knew that even if Celestia shielded everypony, the pulse would still leave a devastating impact that could shatter the shield, thus harming everypony in the end. In order to protect her trainer, Passion used every ounce of its psychic power to its absolute best. It mixed together Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt, performing what it did back at the Pokemon festival. It had formed plasma in its arms. The Emotion Pokemon aimed at the behemoth, firing the plasma forward. The behemoth was reaching the breaking point of unleashing a pulse as Celestia braced herself for this. So did everypony. They were preparing for the absolute worst until... Once the plasma made contact with the behemoth, instead of its body absorbing the attack, it instead caused a destructive chain reaction within the behemoth. Despite all those electrons in its body, it could handle something that was hotter than the sun itself. As a result, the behemoth's electrons and volts were temporarily put to a halt, making the behemoth motionless. Luna and Darkrai managed to escape thanks to it being stationary from the time being and all of Canterlot breathed a sigh of relief. Passion, however, tired herself out from unleashing all that power from her fragile body. She fell on her knees with most of her energy being drained from her. Celestia knew that her Pokemon caused that due to her being capable of generating plasma by mixing Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt, proving that her Kirlia is a one of kind. Finally, there was a great moment of silence. "Passion!" Celestia flew down to her partner, picking her up. "That was amazing!" "Kir..." The Emotion Pokemon breathed in and out, exhausted. "You did well. Take a good rest." Celestia hugged Kirlia. "Unbelievable. This small thing managed to halt something that gargantuan?" Pyrestar was flabbergasted. "I'm surprised as well too. How come only its attacks managed to work against it?" Darkrai wondered. "I may know why. Plasma's hotter than even the centre of the sun. Passion here put all of her strength into both Mystical Fire and Thunderbolt to form a pure plasma. But she's still a bit fragile and young, so she's clearly exhausted from using all of her power in one." "Kirlia..." "Well, I'll be. I suppose that I can no longer underestimate this thing." Luna commented. "But. It could wake up later on. All that energy within can build up again. At the moment, it's stationary." "Then what can we do about it? If it is going to just wake up eventually, we can't keep it here." Luna replied. "I don't know. Honestly, this is the first time we've ever dealt with something that's pure energy itself manifested. Right now, our best option is to do our best to try and send it away from Canterlot. All 3 of us alicorns might be able to do so." Celestia placed her Kirlia down on the floor to get a good rest. The 3 alicorns flew outwards towards the behemoth in order to send it away from here. That's when Ash and the others arrived, getting here just after the behemoth was halted. "Woah...did you...stop it all by yourselves?" Rainbow Dash saw the stationary behemoth. Completely still. "Not us. It was Passion who stopped it by using plasma at it." Celestia explained. "It honestly took me by surprise that she was capable of wielding all that power for being such a young Pokemon." "So am I. I can only imagine what she could be capable of when she evolves to her final stage." Luna responded. "Right now, we have to find somewhere we can place this behemoth." The 3 alicorns used their magic to lift up the behemoth, carrying it in the air. They had to find a spot quickly, or else this thing will start back up and continue its rampage. But where could they put it? It had gone from 500ft all the way to now 700ft thanks to all the energy its absorbed. The scale of this thing is hard to ignore. It looked like there would be some time of peace, but that's when something unexpected occurred. Out of the behemoth came small little monsters made out of electricity. The behemoth had ended up creating smaller variations of itself. And since they were smaller, they could get around quicker and could be harder to catch. The little behemoths scattered across Canterlot, ready to cause tons of chaos. They had spread out like flies, rapidly moving around like crazy. "What are those things?!" Rainbow Dash pulled back. "Did it just create them?!" "Aww...They're actually kind of cute." Pinkie looked down at one that was near her. The singular little behemoth jumped on her mane, shocking it and her entire body as her mane and tail were all puffed up. "But they sting..." The tiny creatures were going around zapping ponies in the process. Not only that, but they seemed to carry the traits of the larger behemoth, in which they have the power to absorb energy. They immediately began sapping way at the magic of unicorns. This didn't take away the magic from the unicorns thankfully, however they now had unicorn magic apart of them. It wasn't too long before they started absorbing Pokemon as well. "This is absurd." Luna's jaw dropped. The sight was just bizarre to look at. Celestia then realized that the longer they stand here gazing at the sight, the more things will spiral out of control. "No time to be sightseeing. We have to put a stop them. Luna, Pyrestar and I will continue to find a location to put this behemoth. In the meanwhile, everypony else will have to deal with these micro-behemoths." Celestia spoke to everypony. I know it has been a long night for you all, and the day is drawing near in a few hours. But once we solve this issue, we'll laugh about it all in the morning. Besides, we have our Pokemon beside us. The chances of us failing are nil." The words that Celestia said inspired everypony to quickly snap out of the fear, panic and confusion. It wasn't going to get them anywhere. Soon it became a scramble to stop these tiny Storm Behemoths. Pikachu was still feeling off due to the presence fo the behemoth. And now his condition was accelerating due to there being a swarm of them. Pikachu couldn't stop exerting electricity from its red sacs. It was a mystery on whether or not he was sick at all. "You ain't going nowhere, ya hear!" Applejack stood in front of some tiny behemoths with Treecko in front of her. "Tree!" "Treecko! Bullet Seed!" AJ commanded. The Grass-Type let the little creatures have it by pelting bullets out of seeds at them. They proved to be effective as the tiny behemoths were knocked back by Treecko's constantly pelting. It seems that while they may share the same ability to absorb energy like the gigantic behemoth, they can only do if they get physical. Some tiny behemoths were stopped as they crashed into the heavy yet soft wall that was Audino. Fluttershy and Audino looked down upon the behemoths, finding it so odd that they were created on the spot. At first, they thought they were Pokemon...but nothing in the Pokedex can come close to this. "Sorry. But we're going to have to stop you now. If you don't mind. Audi. Pick them up." "Audino." Audino picked up the behemoths with its hands, gently off the ground. Surprisingly, the behemoths couldn't absorb a ton of energy from Audino. Since Audino is a Normal-Type, she doesn't require heaps of energy, unlike other types. So the result was the behemoths only slightly gaining power. By a small amount. Fluttershy's approach was a calm and gentle one whilst Rainbow Dash's was fast and aggressive. "Alright! Luxio! Get them!" She commanded her Luxio to grab the mini-storm behemoths with force. The Spark Pokemon chased after the little things, using its fangs to bite on to them. Rarity made some of her Leavanny step on the behemoths, halting their presence whilst they were stuck under the grassy heal of a Pokemon. "This isn't too difficult, honestly. Despite their small size and their quick movements...they're fairly easy to stop. How are you fairing, Twilight?" "Doing great here. But look." Twilight pointed her hoof over at the distance. The rest of the tiny behemoths were escaping Canterlot, heading in the direction of Ponyville. "They're gonna flood Ponyville with those numbers!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Not if we stop them first. Dragonite! Fly after them!" Ash pointed towards the behemoths. His Dragon Pokemon took off, chasing after the little troublemakers. Its huge size easily blocked their pathway as the huggable dragon did what it does best. Hugging them. It grabbed the behemoths that stood in its way, giving them all hugs. The pressure of Dragonite's hugs were actually enough to destroy the electric behemoths. Things were going well. Everypony had their Pokemon stop the behemoths while some also did it on their own. Whether it was unicorn magic or just earth pony and pegasus strength. The issues that they had faced overnight were slowly fading away the more they worked together. But one pony wasn't about to let this end with a breeze. There stood Obsidian. Back again. He looked over the scramble that was occurring as he stood on top the castle. Twilight flew up to blast away some of the behemoths, and once she reached the skies, she noticed Obsidian there as well. "Obsidian!" "Having fun? Looks like you're all having the time of your life stopping these little guys. But you can't stop em all. Too many of them for even all of Canterlot to catch." "Oh, you'll see. We'll stop them all before the sun can rise." "Pssh. We'll see about that. Just know that I'll make things harder for you in the near future." "Not this time." Twilight flew towards Obsidian, standing on the same platform he was on. "This time. It ends here." And right beside her was Eve who jumped off her trainer's back. "Espeon!" "Hoh? You really think this is the moment where you stop me once and for all?" Obsidian chuckled. "100%." "Yeah right. Like I'm going to waste time on you." "What's the matter? Scared that because you play the role of a villain...you're going to lose? Always." Twilight smirked. She actually struck a nerve. It was the harsh truth. Because he had been created to play that role, all of his plans eventually will be dealt with and they have been in the past. "I'll show you...I'll show you that I am more than just some villain placeholder. I'll end up changing fate by beating you!" Obsidian put his hoof forward as he had in his other hoof a Pokeball. "Come out." He sent out his Pokemon, Cofagrigus to deal with Twilight. "I'm counting on you Eve." Twilight looked at her Espeon. "Esp." The Sun Pokemon nodded, stepping forward and gazing at the Ghost-Type. This is the moment where they settle things. Obsidian has caused so much chaos over the months and made everything difficult for everypony. Twilight knows that it has to come to an end eventually. And she decides that now is the time to put an end to it all. With a good old fashioned Pokemon Battle. Whilst a wild event involving electric behemoths happens in the background, it's all these two now. Chapter 136 End!
