The red pony shook his head, as he turned away from Twilight Sparkle, she gasped as she saw one of his eyes flash a complete white(note this might be a bit confusing but his right eye had a pupil just instead of the regular color surrounding the pupil there was just white, got it? Okay back to the story)
Twilight rubbed her eyes to make sure that she wasnt seeing things and when she opened her eyes the 'effect' was gone his eye resuming its bright pink color. She walked back up the stairs and she began to hear whispers in the basement again. But only snatches of conversation like there was something interfering with her hearing spell. She dispelled her suspicions for the time being, and pulled a book off of the shelf, the book was on astronomy.
"Well maybe instead of researching the work of a 'luna'tic I should try and find out what happened to dash." she sighed as she put the book down. Besides she could always ask the lunatic herself. She walked to her room where dash was sleeping, the murmurings in her basement continued.
"Dash." she whispered trying to gently wake the snoring pegasus. "Dash." she tried again a bit louder. "DASH!" she yelled.
The pegasus let out a yelp and tumbled out of the bed. Her wings splayed out awkwardly as she faced twilight from upside down. She quickly got up and accidentaly bumped her muzzle into twilights chest, she stepped back chuckling.
Twilight blushed a bit at the sudden intrusion. "Really now? Is that any way to treat your gracious host?" she said trying, and failing to supress a giggle with her foreleg.
"So your'e probably wondering why I woke you up?" here come down to the main room and we'll talk." she said as she began to walk out the door.

"And so that's why i rudely awoke you like that." Twilight said finishing her story.
"Well what are we waiting for lets go hear his crazy story!" Dash exclaimed as she scrambled from her sitting position. But she needn't have gotten up for at that moment the pony in question came trotting up the stairs of the basement.
He walked over to where they were sitting and motioned with a hoof for them to follow him. He led them down into the basement where the cloud still hung, a small puddle of chocolate had formed beneath it. On the ground was a circle, it contained many different shapes and runes which neither of them understood the purpose of.
"And this is how i will answer all of your questions!" he said, as he drew more lines in the arcane drawing with a piece of chalk.
"Well we were wondering why it is that you're an alicorn." Dash asked.
"Ah yes i did promise to tell you that story well I have something better than an oral repetition of a past event that may or may not take a long time to explain. May i have a key?" he asked out of the blue. "Don't worry you'll get it back" he chuckled.
Twilight pulled a key out of one of her drawers in the basement and then gave it to Scarlet. He then lifted his left wing and began to search for something.
"What are you doing?" Twilight asked. Beginning to question the mental faculties of the pony in front of her.
"Oh nothing i just enchanted the little pocket that all pegasi have inside their wings so i could put more stuff thfr" his sentence became muffled as he pulled an impossibly long object out from under his wing.
It was a metallic staff that had three faces on the end, each with a different expression, but that wasn't what caught the other pony's attention. It was the blood-red jewel perched at the tip. It was oval shaped and seemed to glint with an ominous light. He telekinettically removed the gem from its small pedastal, and placed it in the center of the mystic runes.
Then he lit his horn and the small key warped and was enveloped in a bright light before elongating into a large key with a handle that looked like it was made more for minotaur hands than anything else, and the tip was like that of a blade and seemed to cut the very air around it.
He placed this next to the gem, and then he placed the staff on top of the odd key in an X pattern. He then trotted around the circle examining every shape and pattern. All was quiet as he completed his search. He laid down infront of the circle. A milky white substence dripped from his horn.
It seemed to come alive the moment it hit the floor as it inched its way along to the center. Eventually it crawled up to the gem.
The instant it came into contact with the gem all of the light in the room bent. It was sucked up by the gem and even when Twilight tried to light her horn the light was bent towards the gem.
Once all the light in the room was gathered into a sphere that pulsated every colour imaginable. It imploded in on itself, the light suddenly contracting to a single miniscule point.
Dash saw that the objects the alicorn had placed in the center were gone. The light then expanded rapidly outwards in odd directions. The light was so blindning that they closed their eyes.
And when they opened them. Laying there before them in all his chaotic glory was Discord himself.

Whelp you can expect a revised version of this entire story at some point in the future but not today. Oh well i'm just happy that i finally finished this chapter, sorry if it sounds like i wrote it while trying to stay awake because thats exactly what happedned.
