Kind hearted Demon

unceremonious summoning

After the defeat of most of the Ten commandments. Meliodas and the rest of the seven deadly sins were celebrating at the boar hat tavern. All seven of the members all had a little too much to drink. Everyone was now asleep with the only being that was awake was Hawk, Meliodas’ pig companion, and Captain of the Order of Scraps Disposal. He was busy cleaning up the mess from the party.

Hawk soon noticed that Meliodas was starting to be surrounded by a light of some kind. “MELIODAS WATCH OUT.” Hawk ran to headbut him out of the light, but they both vanished within it. When they both regained their senses, they were somewhere completely different. The area was dimly lit, and had a horrendous smell.

“What happened Hawk?” Meliodas asked his pig friend, as he stood up, “It smells worse than the sewers.”

“I don’t know,” Hawk replied, “I just hope I don’t end up as someone’s pork dinner.” Soon they were able to see that they were on something like a podium. When he looked down, he saw that he was in a magic binding circle, which was similar in function to an invisible cage that was powered by magic. It was made to keep Meliodas trapped in there.

“BEHOLD THE DEMON.” A cloaked figure said among a large crowd. Of other hooded figures. The old looking creatures were more long than tall, like tiny ponies. “HE WILL HELP US OVERTHROW THE PRINCESSES.”

“And why would I do that?” Meliodas asks the crowd leaving them stunded at his remark.

“Because we summoned you, demon.” The hooded figure removed his cloak to reveal he was a elderly unicorn with a scar over his left eye. “The princesses have ruled for too long. NOW IT IS OUR TIME TO REVOLT AND RECONSTRUCT PONY SOCIETY.”

Well then, Meliodas thought, I might as well play their game. “Who are you, and what is in this for me?”

“You can call me father, I am the leader of this cult.” He said, “You will be given a sacrifice to fulfill any of your evil fantasies upon her no matter what they are. That should be enough reason.”

“Wait hold on-” Meliodas was interrupted by father levitating a small beige colored unicorn, with a black mane. She looked very weak and malnourished.

“I apologize for the quality of your sacrifice,” father said, “We need to save as much power as possible. But she,” father punctuated, “Is expendable. We will leave you to fulfill your deepest desire to her.”

“What do you want me to do with her?”

“I don’t care. Kill her, make her your concubine, whatever you wish.” The frail unicorn flinch at what she heard. Soon after the large crowd dispersed through some doors in the back. Meliodas and Hawk haven’t been so confused in their lives.

“Umm. Hello?” Melliodas said, still confused on everything going on, “what is your name?” Are they seriously doing this, Meliodas thought to himself, I can’t believe they would do this to someone. Even my father would think this is atleast a little cruel.

“My name is Stella Light,” She said, while her legs were shaking, barely able to stand up on her own. “W-with my name I-I bind My soul to your s-service and I am yours to do wh-whatever you desire, m-my life is n-now in your h-h-ooves master.”

Meliodas blinked a few times, “What was that about?” Meliodas asked Hawk

“DO YOU EXPECT A PIG TO KNOW.” Hawk said

“A t-t-talking pig.” Stella said,  “Is h-he y-y-yours m-master?”

“Yup, I am Hawk,” he said

“You can call me Meliodas, but why did they do this to you?” Meliodas asked angered that someone would do such a thing to someone so kind.

“I mess up.”  Stella said, still quite terrified, “Alot,” she said, rubbing the size of her leg.

“Mess up?” Meliodas asked, “On what?”

“E-every few nights I can see into the future.” Stella said, “B-but the v-visions are v-vivid, s-so they d-don’t always c-come true.” She was starting to cry.

“No matter how much you mess up at that,” Meliodas said rubbing her cheek, whipping a tear with his thumb, “There is no reason why they should’ve done this to you.”

“B-But father said that-” Cocoa was cut off by Meliodas scratching her ear, calming her down.

“I do not care what he said, there is no justification for what he did.” Meliodas said, starting to get angry, “He never deserved that title. That title is reserved for someone who actually cares for you.”

“Can you two love birds quit it?” Hawk interrupted their moment, “I think I hear them coming.” Moments later, the door creaked open and out walked father, followed by a pony with a mop and bucket. Then the two ponies saw that there was no dead corpse, or any blood at all.

“Did you not enjoy your sacrifice?” father asked while he dismissed the one carrying the mop and bucket.

“No, I didn’t.” Meliodas said coldly, this made Father approach slowly as his intentions were to take Stella back, “But I have something to tell you and all your ‘goonies’ so get them in here.”

Father called for all the members of their odd little cult to enter the room. All of them took their place, Stella got up to take her place. “Stella,” Meliodas whispered to her, “You stay up here with me. You’ve already suffered enough, I will not make you go back down there again. Got it?”

“THE DEMON HAS AN ANNOUNCEMENT.” Father shouted, calming down the crowd.

“First off, HOW DARE YOU.” This made everyone who heard it jump, “YOU TOOK ME FROM MY HOME AND EXPECTED ME TO HELP YOU,”  Meliodas made his demon mark show, “Not only that, Your so called sacrifice has already suffered more than enough. Killing her would be a blessing. I may be a demon, but I have standards.” Meliodas was starting to get really angry, “And to add salt into the wound, you have no clue on who you summoned do you. I am Meliodas, Eldest son of the demon king.” The crowd was stunned and shook with fear.

“My liege,” father said bowing starting to stammer his word, “W-We didn’t know that-”

“QUIET” Meliodas demanded, “Not only did you give the prince of demons the worst of the worst. You’ve actually convinced me not to help you.” Meliodas then had an idea, “You all need to be taught some compassion. So starting now, Stella here is now in charge and only answers to me. A command from her is to be taken as a command from me. If I hear that if any of you are giving her trouble, I am going to open a gate to purgatory and throw you in there. Do you understand that?”

“Yes my liege.” father said refusing to raise his head,

“Good,” Meliodas said, “Now then, go bring us something to eat. I have something I want to talk about with Stella in private about.” The large gather soon dispersed out the doors. There was so much fear in the air, meliodas could smell it. Or it may just be the smell of some decaying corpse over the side of the room.

“W-why did you do this?” Stella asked, starting to have tears in her eyes.

“Because you have suffered enough,” Meliodas said, giving her ear a little scratch, which she let out a small moan of pleasure from. “Now it's my turn to ask you a question, two actually.”

“W-what are they my liege?” Stella asked

“Please just call me Meliodas.”

“W-what are your questions Meliodas?”

“If you were able to leave this cult with no consequences, would you do it?”

Stella thought for a moment on what to say, “..no.”

Meliodas gave her an incredulous gaze, “Be honest, Master commands it.” Meliodas added jokingly.

“Yes, I hate it here,” Stella said, “I would love to go outside one day, but father would never let me go outside.”

“I see,” Everytime Meliodas heard him as that title, he felt a hatred in his heart grow. “Now my second question, do you really want to over through the princesses, or are you just following the cult so they don’t torture you?”

“The s-second one.” Stella said.

“One more thing, can I trust you to keep a secret? This secret is only something that you, me, and Hawk will know about.”

Stella’s eyes widened in a combination of curiosity, and fright. “Yes.”

“Before I tell you this. You must promise you will not tell any-THING about what I am about to tell you.” Meliodas said,

Stella’s eyes couldn't get any wided, she felt her heart pounding in her chest. “I-i promise.”

“Good now come here,” Meliodas motioned for her move close to him, “What I told everyone about was my old title.” Meliodas whispered, what came next shocked Stella, “My title, among the demons, is ‘Meliodas the betrayer.’ I betrayed the entire demon race and helped seal them away for 3,000 years.” Meliodas continued, while “Despite being a demon I’ve retired from my ways of evil. And actually I am not planning on over throwing the princesses, unless they give me a reason to.” Soon after there were some knocks on the door.

“Come in.” Meliodas demanded, he was still pissed at father, and his followers.

“Your lunches my liege, and Stella” a pegasus bowed, carrying a platter that carried two fruit salads, and some bowls of vegetables. “I hope it is okay to your standards, my liege.”

Meliodas looked at the food, “I not that hungry,” He said picking his bowl of vegetables up and placing it on the floor, “Here Hawk,”

“ThankyouMeliodas,” Hawk said a mile a minute before chowing down on the bowl of vegetables.

“Stella, is the food good enough for you,” Meliodas didn’t get a response because Stella was stuffing her face with food. “I’ll take that as a yes. As for you,” He said, “The food has met my standards, so you are dismissed.” He waved his hand to shoo him off. I guess I might as well make the most of this in case I may never return home.
