Tales of Poofquestria

by Nido_King

Welcoming

Cutting through another patch of overgrown foliage, Walnut Glaze wiped a bead of sweat from his brow before taking a long drink from his canteen. Returning the canteen to his bags, the light brown Earth Pony pulled out his small notebook as he reread the directions he had been given. Of course, said directions had been given to him by several less than talkative sources, resulting in some guess work as to whether or not he was on the right path or just walking in circles.

“Start at the base of Foal Mountain… Keep going North until you hit a stream, then follow that stream until you reach a bolder that looks like a pear… Follow the midday sun through the forest until you find a sign that your destination is not far…” He read to himself, looking around for any hint or landmark that could indicate that he was heading the right way. He had been walking for what felt like hours, and the sun helmet he had purchased at the train station was the only thing keeping him from collapsing from heat stroke, while the jungle outfit he wore made dealign the bugs only slightly more bearable. In frustration, he hurled his machete into the forest, hearing it strike wood not far from him. Grumbling to himself, Walnut trotted over to retrieve his machete in order to continue his journey.

However, as he pushed aside an overgrown vine, his eyes widened at what lay before him. He had found his machete, but what it had hit wasn’t a tree like he had first thought, but a wooden post. And on that wooden post was the sign he had been searching so long for.

A sign that read in bright blue lettering “Poofquestria: This way!”, an arrow pointing to a clearly maintained pathway that cut right through the forest.

Overcome with excitement, Walnut took off at a run, his hooves pounding against the pavement for several minutes before he spotted the makings of a town in the distance, only increasing his speed. Before long, Walnut reached the hidden town, skidding to a halt and panting for breath as he gazed up at the sign above the entrance that proclaimed “Welcome to Poofquestria!”

Finally, after weeks of searching, he had finally found it. Stepping through the open entranceway, Walnut’s jaw nearly hit the ground at what he saw.

All around him ponies of all descriptions strolled through the streets, a pronounced waddle in their steps thanks to the massive diapers every pony wore. Walnut had never seen such big and poofy diapers in all his life, like giant pillows softly hugging everypony’s behind. As he picked his jaw back up off the ground, a smile slowly spread across Walnut’s face. “Everything the tales said were true!”

“And more.”

Walnut almost jumped out his skin as a voice spoke from right beside him. As his heart rate went back down to normal again, he glanced over at the pony who had spoken. A cherry red unicorn with a yellow and orange mane had walked up to him without making a sound, despite the large diaper covered with flame designs he was wearing. “I… uh…”

“New around here, I take it?” The unicorn chuckled as he turned his head to look the Earth Pony in the eyes.. “Name’s Cherry Burn, and I remember when I first arrived, I had about the same reaction as you. Course, I’m guessing by the fact that you were able to find this place at all that you’re no stranger to diapers, now are ya?” As if to confirm this, Cherry Burn stepped back and poked a hoof against Walnut’s covered behind, feeling a familiar of soft cushion underneath his outfit.

“Eeep!” Walnut’s face was bright red with embarrassment, his tail instinctively tucking between his legs as she shied away from the touchy unicorn.

“Sorry about that, mate. Just making sure. So, you got a name or what?”

“W-Walnut. Walnut G-Glaze.”

“Nice meetin’ ya, Walnut, and let me be the first to welcome ya to our fine town of Poofquestria!”

Walnut felt some of his embarrassment fade at he once more glanced around him at all the ponies going about in their thick and poofy diapers without a care in the world. He had dreamed of this day for so long, and now that it was here he found himself at a loss as to what to do next.

“Hey, Poofquestria to Walnut? You still with me, mate?”

Snapping out of his stupor, Walnut quickly replied, “Sorry! I just… there’s so much to take in.”

“Care for a tour, then?”

“Uh.. sure, if it’s not too much trouble…”

“Ah, no trouble at all, mate! Now follow me, I know just the place to start!”

And so, Walnut followed behind his new friend as he was lead deeper into Poofquestria. Along the way Cherry would greet ponies cheerfully, complimenting them on anything from their looks to how fashionable their diapers were. Walnut stayed quiet through out it all, looking away quickly whenever a pony noticed him staring in awe at their padded rump for too long. “Uh… Cherry? Where are we going?”

“Why, where else? Can’t in good conscience let you continue to walk around in those paper thin excuses for padding, so our first stop is to get you into some proper diapers first!”

Walnut felt like he could die of embarrassment at how openly Cherry was talking about getting him a new diaper, glancing around frightfully to see if anyone had heard. So distracted was he that Walnut didn’t noticed that Cherry had stopped until he bumped face first into Cherry’s puffy rear, his face becoming enveloped in a sweet smelling cloud of poof for a brief moment before he stumbled back in surprise. “S-Sorry!”

“Ah, it’s cool, mate. Happens all the time,” Cherry replied with the same chill expression as before. “Well, here we are!” Gesturing upward, Walnut glanced up at where Cherry was indicating to see that they’d stop infront of a store, the sign about it reading “Patty’s Poofy Posteriors!”

“Is… is this a…”

“Yeppers! Best diaper shop in town! Now come on, let me introduce ya to the owner.”

Still in a state of utter disbelief, Walnut did as he was told and followed Cherry into the store, the bell above the door jingling above his head as he stepped across the threshold.

If just walking into town had been an experience, then stepping into the shop was like walking into a whole different world. Super thick and poof filled diapers filled the shelves as far as the eye could see, ranging from simple white to every colour and design imaginable that any diaper-loving pony could ever want.

It’s official: I’ve died and gone to heaven.

Walking past the starstruck Walnut, Cherry hollered, “Hey, Patty! Ya here?”

“Coooomming!” Came a mare’s voice from within the store, before a light yellow Earth Pony mare with a twin green mane, and wearing a store uniform came trotting into view. Like the rest of the town’s inhabitants, she was wearing a poofy diaper on her behind, one that as she got closer Walnut could see was a slight shade of pink and covered in designs of flowers.

Not that he was staring or anything…

“Good to see ya, Cherry. How ya doi–“ She halted mid-step as she let out a loud gasp, her eyes positively lighting up as she barrelled forward and enveloped the unprepared Walnut in a hug. “Who is this!? A new friend!?”

“This be Walnut, Patty,” Cherry replied, his hoof pressed to his mouth in an attempt to hold back his laughter. “He’s new here, so I figured why not come to the best diaper selling pony I know to help him?”

Pulling away from Walnut, Patty grabbed his hoof with both of her hooves and vigorously shook it up and down. “Welcome to my store, Walnut, where we sell only the best and thickest diapers in all of Equestria! Any preference? Colour? Design? Prints?”

It took a moment for Walnut to stop shaking from the sudden hoof shake he had experienced, barely enough time to catch his bearings as he was suddenly bombarded with questions from the easily excitable mare. “Uh… Uh… Do you… Do you have any in plain white?” Walnut eventually replied, berating himself for going with such a lame and boring option when he was literally surrounded by the most colourful diapers he had ever seen.

Patty didn’t so much bat an eye as she said, “One plain white, coming up!” , turning around and running deeper into the store. She was gone but a moment before she returned, this time carrying a plain white diaper on her back. “Here you go!”

As Walnut held the diaper in his hooves, he found that his earlier comparison of a pillow had been far more accurate than he had thought, cause if he didn’t know any better he would be sure that he was holding just an overstuffed pillow in his hooves and not a diaper.

He had to have it. “How much?”

“First diaper is on the house! Consider it a gift to welcome you into our little town!”

“Really?” Walnut was at a loss from the cheer generosity on display, managing to squeak out a quick, “Thank you…”

“Well, what ya waiting for, mate?” Cherry Burns said. “Put it on!”

If Walnut’s face got any redder, ponies might start mistaking him for a tomato. “R–Right here?!”

“If ya want…” Patty said with a sly glint in her eyes before pointing towards the opposite side of the store. “Changing rooms are over there, sweetie. Just holler if you’d like some help.”

Nodding, Walnut trotted over towards the changing rooms, still clutching the thick diaper he had been given tightly as he stepped into the room and closed the door behind him, finding it to be far bigger than any changing room he had ever seen back home, likely to accommodate his soon to be new attire.

“Well… here goes nothing…” Removing his saddlebags and setting them down, Walnut slowly began undressing himself from his jungle outfit, reveal the plain white diaper he had been wearing during his journey. It was still as clean as when he had put it on, as Walnut mostly enjoyed the feel, comfort and, strangely enough, the small boost of confidence that wearing diapers brought him. Removing it as well, Walnut stashed both it and his outfit into his saddlebags (save for his hat, of course) before turning his attention to the poofy diaper he had been given.

Slowly unfurling the diaper, he carefully positioned himself over it, with just laying his plot down onto it resulting in his rear sinking into the soft padding as he treaded his tail through the hole. Just as he was prepared to pull up the front and begin taping himself in, he spotted a bottle of foal powder sitting within hoof’s reach nearby.

Why not? Grabbing the bottle of powder and twisting the cap, the air became filled with a cloud of sweet smelling powder as he sprinkled a more than generous amount onto his lower half and into the diaper itself. Once he was satisfied, he finally brought up the front of the diaper and carefully taped himself into it. “One… two… three… and four! Done!” With diaper finally secured, Walnut rolled onto his belly and slowly stood up.

For the second time, Walnut felt like he was in heaven. Trying to compare wearing the flimsy diapers he had worn for so long before this to the sheer mass that now enveloped his rear was like trying to compare a sandbox to the San Palomino Desert. Taking a small step, Walnut nearly fell flat onto his padded rear at how much the padding pushed apart his back legs and turned his walk into a waddle. Taking several more careful steps, Walnut was able to confidently walk around the changing room, though the waddle would still take some getting used to.

The greatest thing to result from the new diaper was the sudden swell of confidence Walnut felt. Before, he had been barely able to work up the courage to wear a diaper even under clothes, now he felt like he could waltz around town without a care at who saw him. This air of new confidence was almost palatable as he emerged from the changing rooms to find Cherry Burn and Patty eagerly awaiting his return.

“It suits you perfectly!” Patty cheered as she clapped her hooves in excitement.

“How’s it feel, mate?”

The newly confidence Walnut didn’t even hesitate to reply with, “Feels amazing, almost indescribably even. I like it!”

“I knew ya would, mate! Now that you’re all nice and dressed up, how about we continue that tour I promised? I’ve got some friends I know you’ll just love to meet!”

Beaming from ear to ear, Walnut gave a quick thank you to Patty before him and Cherry barrelled out of the store, bumping their diapered hips together as they raced through past other ponies. While Walnut knew in the back of his mind that he was only visiting and would soon have to leave Poofquestria for his home, he was already making plans to make his time spent in this padded paradise a far more permanent affair.

Thus was the inescapable allure of the little town nestled in the Foal Mountains that was Poofquestria.
